Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

Going well so far today.

Nutracheck users, a question... Can I copy whole meals over to another day? I often have the exact same thing each day for breakfast or lunch. It's much quicker to add in Nutracheck as it doesn't keep crashing but even so, copy day would be good.

KatherineParr4 · 03/08/2020 15:37

Thank you @Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket

Farcry66 · 03/08/2020 17:00

I've got my first session of weight lifting at gym tonight .... am slightly scared!

Met up with some old students of mine for a later lunch yesterday and the had drinks with friends afterwards so my fasting window didn't start until midnight! Going to find something lightish to eat now and then looking forward to a pasta / chicken / mushroom thing that is yet to be decided when I get back from the gym.

Wish me luck!!!

Heygirlheyboy · 03/08/2020 17:01

Does it have a 'your meals' option?

Saraban · 03/08/2020 17:37

Hi all - room for one more? There are quite a few August threads on here, and I’m not sure what the difference is, so giving a few a go...
I’ve been following threads on this board for a little while, having had a nasty shock 2 weeks ago when I hopped on the bathroom scales at a friend’s house (I didn’t own any myself... that has now changed!) and realised that according to BMI, I am technically overweight shock Only just - 26.3 - but wow, how did that happen?! My weight has been creeping up for years, and lockdown has seen me comfort eating a great deal. I was shocked that my mental image of myself no longer aligns with the physical reality.
I’ve joined WW - my mum had success with them in the past - and have really been enjoying that, although the WeightWatchers board here is fairly dead. I think just being conscious of what I’m eating has been the biggest step for me, and I like that I’m still able to eat whatever I want really, just in moderation. Looking forward to being along for the ride!

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 03/08/2020 18:14

Good luck @Farcry66
Hi @Saraban! I've done ww in the past. Loads of 'free' veg worked well for me, but they changed the formula and I couldn't deal with how prohibitive it became for chocolate and oily salad dressings! Hope it goes well for you 😊
I'm having a hungry day today. Food
B. Porridge, berries, sunflower seeds, coffee
L. Jacket, cheese and beans
D. Premade moussaka & undressed salad
S. Nakd bar, grapes
That puts me just under 1400. I will probably also have some oppo low cal ice-cream to make it up to 1500
Going out for a walk with my mate after dinner to top up my steps.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 03/08/2020 18:37

@Heygirlheyboy

Does it have a 'your meals' option?
Yes but I can't see a way to take the list from diary and save them as a meal. I need to create it from scratch I think. Not hard to do mind.
Heygirlheyboy · 03/08/2020 19:19

Oh.. On lose it your own meals are automatically saved there so v handy for repeats. Recipes is a different section.
B: porridge with milk and banana
L: meatballs with small portion spaghetti, roast veg and cheese dessert: Mars bar cheesecake and cream
D: berries and Greek yoghurt
Yet to tot.
F&V: 7
4 mile walk later.

Heygirlheyboy · 03/08/2020 19:37

Bang on my daily allowance of 1470 today (allowed 400 for Mars bar cheesecake hope that's right, didn't have a massive slice)..

TheHoneyBadger · 03/08/2020 20:10

Well done everyone. Mars bar cheesecake sounds pretty awesome 😎

I’m still fasting. Been taking the day very slow and easy and constantly having first black coffee then herbal tea to hand plus glasses of water. This will be my extended fast for this cycle.

Have been enjoying reading a novel today and taking the dog out for short easy strolls to do his business. Starting to see these longer pre period fasts as an opportunity to slow down and be more present and try to do some meditation.

Maybe When I’ve lost enough weight and if I really make this a habit that I enjoy and have generally become more active and less inclined to mindless eating this once a cycle extended fast will be enough for maintenance?

Got at least 3.5stone to go first!

Heygirlheyboy · 03/08/2020 20:55

Wow TheHoneyBadger sounds amazing!

The Mars bar cheesecake was unbelievably delicious! I didn't walk, feel sleepy so going to allow a rest day after 7 days of exercise including a run plus walk yesterday. Back on the activity tomorrow.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 03/08/2020 21:57

@heygirlheyboy was it shop bought or home made?

I have still felt full from the weekend so ate under my allowance which is pretty unheard of for me 😂

DrMadelineMaxwell · 03/08/2020 22:43

On my limit for cals today. Have 14.3.5 today, so I've lost 2 and a half lb in my first week. I did start a warm up for the 10 minute boot camp DVD but the DVD froze before the end of the first 10 mins (and I didn't have my trainers so my knee was starting to hurt!) so I called it a day for a first start and am trying again tomorrow with a different DVD (and trainers)!

Tomorrow's sticky point is that my sister and I are going out for coffee and a slice of cake tomorrow afternoon at a local cafe (where DD works, and where we can book a table and know it's safely distanced etc) so that's tempting. I will eat a very light lunch of some chicken and salad and an apple (spiral cut with my favourite toy that makes them tastier and easier to eat) before coffee and cake. Then more chicken and salad or prawns and salad for a low dinner too to make space in the cals for the cake!

hangoverstruggles · 03/08/2020 22:53

Evening all,

Fairly good day for me. No exercise as such but busy day off work with the kids. Helping to get youngest to learn to ride his bike was surprisingly strenuous on my body!

B coffee
L oats, milk, raspberries, banana, peanut butter
D chicken breast, spiralised squash noodles, tomato & chilli sauce
S homemade banana muffin, rice cake with pb, fun size Milky Way, fibre one bar

Thought I'd down better until I remembered all the snacks. Just under 1500

Heygirlheyboy · 04/08/2020 04:30

Yes Monster homemade by dh.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 04/08/2020 05:29

Room for ANOTHER one?! Have avoided the scales for about a year, I knew I was getting bigger but I’m at my heaviest in 8years - same weight I was just before I stopped bf DD and started training for an epic bike ride. At my lightest 18months later I was too skinny and it was unsustainable but the weight has crept up over the years.

WI today at 10st 6lbs which I know doesn’t sound massive but I’m small framed and none of my clothes fit anymore and I really don’t want to buy new ones. Also thinking it’s easier to nip it in the bud than to let it continue going on...am 37 so it’s only going to get harder to lose the weight.

My first aim is to lose 6lbs in August and then do waist measurement again (currently 30” waist 😭) and then focus on size and getting back into my old clothes than necessarily weight but aiming for the general ball park of 9st 6lbs eventually so a Stone to lose.

Have had luck with IF before now but motivation is seriously lacking in terms of calorie counting so am just going to try no more drinking alcohol for a bit and no snacking and moving my body in some way every day, including at least two sessions a week of weight training (just at home with dumbbells and YouTube videos)

MonsteraCheeseplant · 04/08/2020 07:05

Welcome Pirate.

Heygirl, I can't go and buy one then. That's both good and bad 😆

HoneysuckIejasmine · 04/08/2020 07:47

As I suspected, 2.5lbs gone overnight. Fluid retention is a bitch! Think I might start weighing every day to get a better picture.

Heygirlheyboy · 04/08/2020 08:20

createbakemake.com/no-bake-mars-bar-cheesecake/ he used choc digestives instead of oreos..

Welcome pirate! You sound like me. I was 10st 1 mid Jan so I'd say around 10st 4 when I started and I got to 9st 3 mid March but messed up in lockdown however I'm back at 10st 4.75 now. I know exactly what you mean re clothes and being small. Good idea re measuring. Best of luck.

Heygirlheyboy · 04/08/2020 08:20

I'm at 9st 4.75 now!

Heygirlheyboy · 04/08/2020 08:54

Scratch that, 9st 4 Grin, down again despite the cheesecake. You can have your cake and eat it! Wink

TheHoneyBadger · 04/08/2020 09:32

Well done!

Messed up my fast being properly extended due to insomnia and hobnobs Blush Still I did 24hrs and whilst the scales are 0.2lbs up today that may be middle of the night eating and not have a bm. Hopefully the benefit will show on the scales tomorrow.

My weakness is late night insomnia and the idea of food starting to go round my head. That and nice cold beer.

Heygirlheyboy · 04/08/2020 09:37

Oh that's hard but as you say scales might be fine tomorrow. Has insomnia always been a thing? I have been sleeping much better since getting healthier in Jan.

What I can't get over is the difference depending on half of cycle, as per Ted talk posted in July ie more cals needed in 2nd half but for me this has resulted not in need to eat more at that time but losing more easily because must be naturally burning more. It's the following two weeks I find harder. Good to be mindful of.

alwaysinpjs · 04/08/2020 11:50

I'm back to 9st 6lb today and on day 2 of the 30 day shred.
I think I need to work on toning now rather than being disappointed with not losing so quickly. Ideally I'd like to lose another 3lb by September though.

keiratwiceknightly · 04/08/2020 11:57

Some of you are so light - I am guessing you are not so tall!

I'm down another 0.5 lb this morning so that's 5.5 in 8 days. I'll take that! Did a new yoga workout this morning and it was quite easy so really feeling like I must be getting quite strong and flexible these days. Big walk pencilled in for later on.

B - grilled nectarine and Greek yog
L - smoked mackerel pate and crudités
D - chicken and cashew nut (home made)
