Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

Morning. I weighed in as the same as before the weekend which is great. I've got two meals out at the weekend and this is where the easy control we had in lock down ends.

Again, I'm not feeling very hungry though and I'm not sure if this is still hangover from the weekends excess or kitten related distraction and mood improvement 😊

Heygirlheyboy · 05/08/2020 10:05

9 St 3.75 this morning I am getting there!! Grin But I am part terrified I'm going to fall off wagon. Don't know if anyone else ever feels like that. Attempted a run but river path was water logged so I had to just jump from puddle to puddle. Will head out again for a walk later. Have a good day all.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 05/08/2020 11:04

@Saraban what is in the miso glaze? Sounds yum!
I've been having lots of good days recently but quite hungry today. Kids are agitating for wagamama tonight which is nearly all quite high calorie, but the temptation to not cook is strong!!

TheHoundsofLove · 05/08/2020 11:41

Hi all - sorry for going a bit awol! My husband and son are both off at the moment, so am planning to have August 'off' and just maintain, then will pick things back up in September you may all need to give me a collective kick up the arse to make sure that I do Grin . I will keep checking in though as like hearing how everyone is doing!

Farcry66 · 05/08/2020 12:05

I weighed in this morning, 2lbs lost which takes me to 9lbs over all now which I'm quite happy with.

Heygirlheyboy · 05/08/2020 12:09

Everyone is going great! Hounds we will be here and waiting Grin

I am having the lentil and red pepper salad suggested last week for lunch, I'll add feta and rocket, yum. Porridge and banana for breakfast, nigella quick chilli for dinner and will add veg. Doing a massive clear out here feeling v satisfied!!

Hangoverstruggles · 05/08/2020 12:35

@TheHoundsofLove I'm joining you with that. Still working hard to maintain but going to have fish & chips etc when we go to the beach but have 'diet' days when home. Hopefully a good balance!

@MonsteraCheeseplant you're smashing maintenance.

@Heygirlheyboy you are on a roll!

Hello to everyone else.

Enjoyed my slap up meal out last night. For the foodies in the group I had crab 'BLT' which was kind of like a crab bruschetta, local mussels and fries, and the most amazing chocolate delice with black cherry blobs around it. 3 large glasses of Pinot blush too. Was fucking brilliant!

We walked 3 miles home so hopefully that offset one of the glasses of wine 😁

Just water melon so far today but will have some eggs in a bit.

TheHoneyBadger · 05/08/2020 12:40

Another late night biscuit scoffing session last night. Two nights in a row. That has to stop.

I’m back down to 14st3.5 somehow-Monday’s fast, biscuit binge and bm all offsetting each other somehow Wink

Big row with ds13 last night and need to deal with that today. Refused to do as asked, swore at me then tried to block me from taking his PlayStation lead away. Teenage years are definitely upon me.

I stayed weirdly calm and held the line until he did as told in the first place and let me take lead. Then laid into a packet of biscuits after dealing with the, “why don’t you love me” messages after. Not sure if I’ll get sad boy or angry boy today Confused I know he was upset by an argument with a friend and I probably just got the proverbial boss shouts at man, man goes home and kicks the dog displacement. Probably teen stage kicking in amidst global pandemic is not helping Grin

Anyone been through and past this stage please tell me it’s normal and gets better 🙏 Sorry not really the thread for it

TheHoundsofLove · 05/08/2020 13:25

That meal sounds right up my alley Hangover - glad you enjoyed it! Grin
Badger I've not been through that stage yet, but I"m sure it's pretty normal for teenagers to take out angst on their parents.

Heygirlheyboy · 05/08/2020 13:26

Oh gosh TheHoneyBadger I am empathise completely with all that HP my ds is 8 he is challenging and defiant at times but at least easier to hold the line with and him and absolutely you'd feel like hitting the sugar after the upset of that. I've done it too many times over hiccups in general. Maybe in light of day with a heart to heart you can sort it out.
Hangover that all sounds delish!

I ended up throwing the last of my preprepared salads, chickpea, beans and vulgar bulgar into today's lunch, it'll be high cal enough but look at this beauty. 6veg all in.

Heygirlheyboy · 05/08/2020 13:34

Worked out at 405cals, it was a huge bowl, well worth it and 700 cals still left for the day.

Lalanbaba · 05/08/2020 13:37

Hello!
May I join?
Last week I weighed in at 70 kg, my heaviest ever. Part of it is baby weight and part the constant snacking as I'm furloughed.
I will like to go back to prebaby so around 63kg.
I started tracking my food but I need accountability to keep me on track.
B: porridge with cinnamon, apple and banana. Tea
L: falafel and salad
D: pasta with tuna, mushrooms and spinach in tomato sauce
S: pink lady with almond butter
I should be able to have a small glass of wine in the evening and stay around 1500cal

TheHoneyBadger · 05/08/2020 13:40

Thanks heygirl. He’s still asleep/hiding in his room so far and I’m not too keen on changing that right now. Think I may force him to come for a walk with me. My knowledge of teenager boys (not my own till now) is that communication is easier side to side whilst doing something than sat face to face.

Anyway. I will never buy hobnobs again. They are banned from my house. I think it’s the combo of sweet yet salty that makes them so munchable!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 05/08/2020 13:56

Hi Lala! Your menu sounds fab.

Badger my kids are both preschoolers but I'm dreading the teen years already. Gin

B leftover cocktail sausage omelette
L soup, salad
D bacon and pineapple pasta bake
S rocky road (of course!)

This week I've ordered all fruit and veg from the farm shop and everything else from Asda. Need to go collect from farm shop in a short while.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 05/08/2020 14:02

Hobnobs are incredible but so darn moreish. Deadly.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 05/08/2020 15:31

Badger hope he calms down soon. My DS is 11 but still sweet and lovely however I really fear the day my 8yr old DD becomes a teen, the drama is already so hard to deal with. But then maybe DS is lulling me into a false sense of security.....

3 days booze free!

keiratwiceknightly · 05/08/2020 16:46

I've got two teen girls so it's drama city in this house sometimes. Sympathies.

Heygirlheyboy · 05/08/2020 18:01

1245 cals which puts me over 150 under but have logged as I'm more than full. That includes chilli with rice, sour cream and cheese.
16k steps
Have a great evening all, heading out with the dc into the sunshine before bedtime.

Saraban · 05/08/2020 18:19

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket - it was really simple. Some grated ginger, 1/2 tblsp soy sauce, 1 tblsp miso paste, 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp rice wine vinegar. Whisked together, brushed on the salmon fillets with a pastry brush, and 12 mins at 200 C. Ta-dah! I’m afraid I won’t be able to top it.

Breakfast for me recently has just been a banana and coffee, maybe some no-fat Greek yoghurt too, but today I had porridge, made with grated apple, mashed banana and some cinnamon. It was delicious and very filling, but I’m not sure I like using up so many calories early on the day - doesn’t give you a lot to play with. And although it’s filling, I was hungry by lunchtime as I would have been had I just had the yoghurt, really... Hmm.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 05/08/2020 20:24

Well done @Farcry66
Thanks @Saraban I might try that
Today's food
B. Skyr yogurt and nuts coffee
L. Large chicken salad sandwich with cherry tomatoes
D. Chicken yaki soba
S. Dark choc bar, choc hazelnut nut diet ice-cream, tablespoon of choc chips and almonds
Total around 1770
10,000 steps.
Think my period might be due soon!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 05/08/2020 20:27

Thank you by the way @hangoverstruggles, that crab BLT sounds epic.

@Farcry66 9lbs is fantastic, congratulations!

@Heygirlheyboy Good going! I strongly relate to fears of falling off the wagon. We've worked so hard to achieve what we have, it'd be such a kicker to have to do it all over again.

Welcome @Lalanbaba

@HoneysuckIejasmine Pineapple in pasta is near criminal behaviour

TheHoundsofLove · 05/08/2020 20:44

I agree - it is criminal behavior Monstera ! But not as bad as one of my friends who puts banana in a chicken curry! 😂

HoneysuckIejasmine · 05/08/2020 21:38

Oh no, I love "Hawaiian" flavour. Even on pizza. I ate it as a child, I'm really not sure why a few years ago it suddenly became a thing to hate it? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Grin Anyway I can't eat it raw because of the proteases. Hurts my tongue, I get sore spots all over it.

We've got leftovers for lunch tomorrow, yum yum!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 05/08/2020 22:01

Holy moly @TheHoundsofLove how are you friends with that monster?

I love fresh pineapple though, just not hot for some reason!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 05/08/2020 23:07

Barbecued pineapple is delicious. Peel it and pop it on. Treat like a kebab - hold by leaves, slice off the lovely charred, caramelised bits, and then return to the grill, turning gradually to shave down to the core.

Yum.
