Me personally? In the main it’s been a way of life for nearly 3 years and I’ve lost over 30lbs. I had a bit of blip at the start of C19. After all my hard work I just started eating with impunity. Before I knew it I was10lbs up! I needed to get back on it and COVID proof myself 😬 I calorie count, log via MFP app, Intermittent fast, eat-low carb Mediterranean style aka Fast800 Plan and try to stay well hydrated.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on this thread. We are in this together.

How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

Jump in 😊. You’ll be glad you did this time next month 😀.

Can you volunteer to cook or is there a Mrs - hard not to step on toes! I'm sure the scales will move @fallfallfall You're so dedicated.

Thanks @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 we're booked in to a timed slot booking at Clarks as he's a bit fussy a lot so it needs to be right! That's a very motivational dream. Hang on to it! I was so chuffed to go into a 12 from a 14.

Aurorie11 · 10/08/2020 21:51

Resisted the temptation to evening snack, I do it from habit rather than being hungry, I find evening the hardness time, made do with a cup of tea!

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 10/08/2020 22:00

@Aurorie11 I'm an evening snacker too, my tactics have been to either have a bowl of veg that takes a while to crunch through, for me that's carrot sticks or frozen peas/sweetcorn.

Or to keep my hands busy, so I've been sewing, knitting or colouring, might even do a batch of ironing tomorrow night but I'll need to remember where I stashed the ironing board, it's been a while!!

Aurorie11 · 10/08/2020 22:06

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 ironing what’s that Grin I wouldn’t mind but I’m not hungry but still the kitchen calls me

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 10/08/2020 22:11

LOL only think I've ironed in at least a year is my sewing projects and I just do those on a folded towel so I really might have lost the ironing board Grin

Ladies with school age kids - I'm pretty sure the Sainsbury's 25% starts tomorrow so if you have any generic uniform bits you still need it's well worth a look.

RubySlippers77 · 10/08/2020 23:30

Thanks for the Tu tip @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50! I too have packed away the ironing board, hopefully forever Grin

Apologies as I still haven't caught up with this thread, I'm feeling a bit down that my weight loss attempts have stalled, worried about all the dire warnings going around re: Covid and obesity, frustrated with myself for not sticking with it... and more. Plus we're going away over the weekend and I very much doubt I'll be able to stick to any healthy eating, no snacking is the best I can aim for. Perhaps a fresh start on Monday is what's needed?!

MrsJonesAndMe · 11/08/2020 07:19

@Aurorie11 that's why I do IF - the kitchen shuts at 5:30 (though you can do different timings) and that's it. Added to the fact that I need to drink meds on empty stomach at 10PM is enough to keep me mostly on the straight and narrow.

We'll be here on Monday @RubySlippers77 Sending you a (((hug)))

DS doesn't fit into supermarket uniform either Hmm I swear he exists to bankrupt me @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 M&S uniform fits well!

Another bad night's sleep, another hot busy day ahead!

Foreverlexicon · 11/08/2020 07:46

Morning all
Yesterday was fine, if not the healthiest day but I did listen to my hunger queues. Super stressful day at work which didn’t help.

B - fruit and fibre cereal
L - iced caramel coffee and a lotus crispy creme Blush
D - frittata, carrot sticks with humous, pineapple and grapes
S - small bottle of cider and rice cakes with peanut butter and banana
E - rode the horse and ran 5.3k

Another late shift today. Going to try and get out for a run but if it’s getting too hot I’ll do a JM video. Have a good day everyone

TheRealHousewife · 11/08/2020 10:19

Good Morning Lovelies ❤️

So sorry to hear that @SunshineCake. All pets are part of the family and it’s heartbreaking when they leave us 😢 Sending hugs.

Recent news ... I’ve never had a consecutive run of consistent days/weeks of remaining on track as long as this. Never. I think it’s down to balanced blood sugars and being in the right head space. This is my 5th week with no slips. Perhaps it’s also to do with partaking in a paid subscription .... I’m not one to waste money 😬.

Previously I was only slipping once a week or fortnight. A slip for me might have been a takeaway, chocolate bar etc. Not a binge by any means. But being slight in statue, low muscle mass, thyroid disease coupled with limited mobility that was enough to repeatedly put me back to square one.

For the past 3 weeks my other half has been joining in too. Being a tall fella with oodles of muscle, he’s dropped nearly a stone! He says he’s feeling fitter and more healthier. His blood pressure has dropped from abnormally high into the normal range. He was 1 Doctor review away from meds. I think he’s swerved that now.

Have a great day All.

Thank you mrsjones mentioned my weight loss plateau to dh and he came up with some great suggestions.
Weight this am 150.0....
We are taking our travel trailer and can be self sufficient for all meals, but surely will have at least two suppers with them.
Discipline will be necessary.
ruby I’ll be here Monday, don’t loose heart. Do the best you can and yes refocus after the weekend.
I’ll only be able to walk, no cycle or Leslie.
Have a good few days people.

SunshineCake · 11/08/2020 15:36

Hi everyone

Thank you very much for your kindness. Some people can be dismissive as only a Guinea Pig but he was ours and very much loved. DS was crying in the night again but dh has just taken him to the shop and they are going via the pet shop. Not to get anything but just to see some animals.

We were out early to see PIL. I haven't seen them since I can't remember apart from when I briefly saw FIL in March so it was nice to see them as we took the dog and she was hilariously over excited when we got there.

I have don't three hours in the garden but I'm in now for the day.

Weight up this morning after lowest for ages, then up, then down, then up more so bit fed up but my app says I am due on, though I think it is the week after this, plus I did have GF toast and home made cake two days running so it is my own fault. I will run tomorrow and that is going well. From the last four runs I have improved on each one so happy about that and proud of myself.

I still feel like someone is missing Sad but I expect I I'll get through it.

Good afternoon everyone.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 11/08/2020 16:27

Hot, so hot, send help, I'm meltttttiiiiinnng.

B - nothing
L - scrambled egg and bacon
D - whatever my DH cooks, I think it will be chicken breast with veg and stuffing balls
S- cottage cheese and cherry tomatoes.

Don't want to pre-empt Weigh On Wednesday but I hopped on the scales this morning and was showing a loss so hoping that holds out till the morning.

Going to sit in a dark space and drink ice water for a while now.

So hot!

SunshineCake · 11/08/2020 17:14

My eating for today is epic.

Home made cake at 11.30, one hour early.
Three squares of very dark chocolate but can't remember when.
Two small GF brownies.
Lots of salad leaves, roast chicken, vine tomatoes and grated cheese.

Hmm.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 11/08/2020 17:20

Ooohhh what kind of cake @SunshineCake

I could go for a slab of carrot and walnut cake right now, with orange cream cheese icing.

SunshineCake · 11/08/2020 18:02

Just a Victoria sandwich with strawberry jam in the middle. I got a gluten free recipe off BBC recipes iirc and it is the lightest cake I have ever made or eaten that I can remember.

Aurorie11 · 11/08/2020 20:54

Food not great, but it’s my birthday.

B - porridge
L - cheesecake, I know! needed eating up and it’s my birthday
D - chilli and rice, didn’t it eat it all, had half a slice of garlic bread and about 15 chips (Dinner out)

But went for a long walk, burning 878 calories. Just under 20k steps, so could have been worse

SunshineCake · 11/08/2020 21:33

Happy birthday!

I don't think your food choices were that bad and good points for the exercise.

Aurorie11 · 11/08/2020 22:09

Thank you @SunshineCake

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 11/08/2020 22:14

@Aurorie11 Happy Birthday!!

That was a great day considering it's you bday, I would have had a lot more than a slice of cheesecake!

Aurorie11 · 11/08/2020 22:20

Grin @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50

fallfallfall · 12/08/2020 05:44

rivierliedje · 12/08/2020 06:54

Happy birthday aurorie!

Yesterday I had oatibix with soya milk, half a banana and some seeds.
s: cream crackers with herb spread
L: homemade misosoup with carrot, cabbage, tofu and mushrooms
D homemade lasagna, homemade sauces in it, vegan so no cheese or meat
I did level two of the NHS stretch and flex
