Me personally? In the main it’s been a way of life for nearly 3 years and I’ve lost over 30lbs. I had a bit of blip at the start of C19. After all my hard work I just started eating with impunity. Before I knew it I was10lbs up! I needed to get back on it and COVID proof myself 😬 I calorie count, log via MFP app, Intermittent fast, eat-low carb Mediterranean style aka Fast800 Plan and try to stay well hydrated.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

Afternoon everyone and welcome to *@Lovingitinlockdown.

Thank you for your thoughts. Much appreciated. I am very tired today.

*@TheRealHousewife definitely have the test. When I was ill I never once had a temperature and I think I caught from a women sneezing just before she walked past me. She didn't cover her face or use a tissue adequately.

Hang in there *@Galvantula. You might get a loss whoosh! I had the house to myself for the first time in months this morning and it felt nice though I am missing DH after his two weeks off. I spent the time cleaning.

This morning I ran 6.1km and then walked another 2.6 in 1 hour ten with the dog. All my cleaning, hoovering and mopping should have burnt some calories off and I've got off the 1.5 lb that went on.

Sat waiting White House Farm now as really tired. Dinner will be mackerel with new potatoes and veg as I have run out of salad and can't be bothered to go to the shop. DD has just asked me to take her shopping tomorrow so I'll get some then for later in the week.

fallfallfall · 17/08/2020 16:23

Welcome @Lovingitinlockdown
Well everyone the cardio IS doing the trick! 148.4 lowest weight since 2015! All I know is it’s encouraging as my 2020 goal is only 8 lbs away. I started in 2015 wanting to loose 10 lbs a year, my idea was slow and steady small increments. One day at a time.
B dh is cooking up a big one.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 17/08/2020 16:44

Hi @Lovingitinlockdown welcome to the group, we have a lovely group of ladies here, never any judgement just lots of support and encouragement.

Back in the olden days (2013) when TTC DD I lost a fair whack of weight in the hopes it would help me conceive, today I found my old tracker and I was 255lb when I started that journey so have restarted it this time at just over 20lb below my heaviest weight.

I'd forgotten just how big I was, and discovered that either I liked my clothes very tight back then or my taste and comfort level has changed dramatically as I'm wearing bigger clothes now than I was then.

Went over my calories yesterday but on track today, hopeful that Wednesday will show a further loss as I'd really like to maintain my losing streak for a 3rd week.

Have also maintained my 'I ain't buying no more fat girl clothes' stance, I'm wearing what I have till I shrink out of it and am forced to ditch the lot and get a new wardrobe!

SunshineCake · 17/08/2020 16:49

I've just found an old graph and on August 31st 2018 I weighed 1 stone 1.3 lbs more than I do today. Very slow progress but at least I'm going down now. Would have been nice if the losses had stayed off instead of going on and off a handful of times if not more.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 17/08/2020 16:52

That's fab @SunshineCake and when you add in your new found love and ability to run you've made huge strides (pun intendedGrin) and are doing so well!

TheRealHousewife · 17/08/2020 17:08

Welcome @Lovingitinlockdown You’ve come to the right place, the ladies are lovely and very supportive!

@SunshineCake have you had c19 ... sorry if you’ve told me before. I think I’ll order a test online.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/08/2020 18:22

Hope you felt better today @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50

Like the idea of a digital detox!

Have you all had a good day? I've had a fairly miserable day. Day affected by women's trouble, other people's poor time keeping, the weather and one very defiant toddler. On the plus side, I had a steak and some greens so my iron levels are doing well and I've brushed my teeth, so that's that for the day.

You are doing well @SunshineCake though it can be hard to see that from the inside.

Oh well done @fallfallfall!

Welcome @Lovingitinlockdown

Oh no @TheRealHousewife I hope it isn't, but I think you should get it done for peace of mind as much as anything else.

Hope you're OK @Foreverlexicon and @RubySlippers77

SunshineCake · 17/08/2020 20:22

Thank you *@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50. I've just looked at my running stats and my pace average has got faster so I am happy.

I have had a test *@TheRealHousewife. I do the app nearly every day and was called for one but didn't see the email so when it called me again I went. It is uncomfortable but not painful. I suggest you watch the video first to be prepared for what will happen and the video also confirmed to me I wouldn't have been able to do it correctly myself.

SunshineCake · 17/08/2020 20:24

Sounds like a hard day *@MrsJonesAndMe so tomorrow has to be better. When you mention a toddler it makes me wonder about going back to work. Before having my children I was a nanny.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 17/08/2020 20:40

Just did 3rd exercise video, today was all about Glutes. I don't think I have them, I have a flat ass so it would make sense.

The instructor kept saying things like "engage your core" and "feel the squeeze".

I don't know if I engaged my core but I sucked my flabby belly in as hard as I could and kind of held my breath so hopefully that was what she meant Grin

Got all the way through the video though and may have some problems with sitting and standing tomorrow, so good that it's a rest day.

Meals today

B - scrambled egg and mushrooms
L - beef slices and cottage cheese
D - chicken with cheese and bacon and baby corn

S - 3 x skinny latte macchiatos

Foreverlexicon · 18/08/2020 05:36

Morning all. Need to read back and have a catch up.

Sorry for going AWOL - things were busy with being on nights and gf coming over then we were away for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. I still have to pinch myself sometimes - we had a slightly rocky start as it took her 6 months to acknowledge this as a relationship (commitmentphobe) and we almost ended over it but we made it through, and made it through this summer where we both had a very difficult time and frankly I’m absolutely head over heels. She’s now going to be staying with me half the time so the long distance is essentially over and I couldn’t be happier!

I’m going to try a different tact. I mainly want to maintain now although I wouldn’t mind losing a few more pounds. But I’ve been struggling a little with binging whilst figuring out maintaining and that’s how I gained the weight in the first place - binging, not my general eating habits.

Gf signed us both up to David Lloyd (I never would of spent that much but she likes the finer things and is paying so hey ho) which is just down the road from me. She wants to eat healthier and get fitter which is very much in line with my goals.

DL have a great machine which gets all your body stats so I’m going to do that (hooped I’m briefly yesterday but couldn’t work out how to save it) and essentially monitor myself with that once a month. It weighs in kg which is good as it doesn’t mean much to me which takes the emotional side out of it but lets me monitor my weight. Plus general healthy eating and lots of exercise.

Yesterday;
B - yoghurt, berries and granola
L - 3 slices leftover pizza
D - Aubergine stuffed with tomato and mozzarella with roasted broccoli (this was delicious)
E - rode the horse, 45 min spin class, upper body weights.

Working week starts today.
Will catch up, hope everyone has a good day!

TheRealHousewife · 18/08/2020 09:19

Good Morning

I cross posted with you yesterday @SunshineCake. That’s great progress! Bloody well done! 🥇

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 you’re a right Duracell bunny 🐰. Great stuff getting all that exercise in 👍

@Foreverlexicon It sounds like it’s all coming together for you! Happy Anniversary ❤️

Wishing everyone a great day.

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/08/2020 13:04

Sounds about right @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 Does it hurt today?

How are you feeling @TheRealHousewife

Sounds very positive @Foreverlexicon

It's hard going @SunshineCake and I'm worried for the winter and being stuck in and the possibility of endless rounds of tests and quarantines! (I'm a CM so at my home with them )

I've lost a tad more after hopping on this morning - now 11.1kg/24/5lbs down in total. But I've eaten lots of home made bread today (along with HM soup too) so who knows!

Yoga night tonight!

Take care all x

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 18/08/2020 13:28

@Foreverlexicon lots of great things happening for you, congrats on your anniversary!

@MrsJonesAndMe I'm absolutely flabbergasted but no, muscles not hurting today which is nice.

I have however been so busy with work that I just looked up, realised it was 1.30pm and I haven't had breakfast or lunch and have no idea what to eat.

Not feeling hungry so debating just leaving it and waiting for dinner tonight.

SunshineCake · 18/08/2020 17:02

I have so much to try and fit in tomorrow morning and I just couldn't get my head to work it out so I randomly decided I would walk the dog for an hour and then go and run Shock. I haven't done an afternoon run before and probably won't again regularly. Too many people about.

I had a horrible dream last night. DH cheated on me and then had more cheek to be mean to me. It feels so real at the time and even when dh wakes up and I tell him an she gives me a cuddle and says it isn't real, I am still left with the feelings. I took doggy for a walk early and tried to walk off my mood and it did work eventually but it took a while and also was over taken by the stress of kids sleeping in when supposed to be taking a sibling to school.

I then took dd shopping. Lovely time with her but stressful as so many people not following the rules. Then my card was declined twice in M&S but accepted to pay the car parking so I think it was the shops fault.

Any thoughts on having a covid test *@TheRealHousewife?

*@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 are you having problems today? Hope not. Ahhh, just seen your post. Great you aren't sore!

Congrats on your anniversary *@Foreverlexicon. That year has flown by Shock❤️

How many children do you care for *@MrsJonesAndMe? I miss nannying some times.

fallfallfall · 18/08/2020 17:55

@MrsJonesAndMe I made Jamie’s classic minestrone yesterday with fennel and all the fixings, using basil and cabbage from home.

Congrats on the pain free exercise everyone.

@SunshineCake busy days here as well, the honey has been harvested and tomorrow is market day!

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 18/08/2020 18:12

That sounds lovely @fallfallfall my food choices today have been ....less....refined

@SunshineCake that sounds like a hell of a busy day, well done on your walk then run!

Today I have been mainly sitting on the sofa staring at my laptop typing or having video calls (yay).

B - forgot to have it
L - forgot to have it
Afternoon snack - Greek yoghurt then a random left over slice of roast beef
D - pork loin steak and steam veg pack (broccoli, sweetcorn and carrot)

rivierliedje · 18/08/2020 19:53

Yesterday was my anniversary so no keeping track of anything (ordered in pizza, had drinks and lovely smoothies and chocolate). I did manage to do my run (stopped by the supermarket on the way home from work and the bus was very late, so did my couch to 5k run home, with heavy backpack, was very difficult!).
It is still raining like mad here and it seems complaints are like busses and I've had a proper emailed to the boss one today. THe last one was just a patient complaining at me which feels bad, but this is possibly worse. Sigh.
Today has not been a great one for food, but going off for stretch and flex now. Hopefully won't get too wet.

SunshineCake · 18/08/2020 19:58

Congrats on your anniversary *@rivierliedje and hurray for special food. Well done on your run too. With the backpack it would have been more productive so extra points!

Foreverlexicon · 19/08/2020 05:38

Sounds like everyone is doing well!

I had a good day yesterday but had too much chocolate. Need to reign this in! Finding it difficult to get my head around eating what I want but not eating everything in sight..

B - yoghurt with granola and berries
S - 2 biscuits and a couple of heroes
L - bagel with philly and ham, crisps and grapes
D - lamb ravioli in tomato sauce with olives, sundried tomatoes and mozzarella on the side and garlic bread
S - more chocolate
E - rode horse and HIIT class.

Hoping for less chocolate today

fallfallfall · 19/08/2020 07:01

hello everyone, super busy day today and tomorrow will be as well. only 30 minutes of a light cardio workout. a good amount of steps and decent (or so i think) meal choices.
tomorrow is market day and we have honey to sell :).

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 19/08/2020 08:03

WOW update

29/07/2020 - 229lb, BMI is 34.8
05/08/2020 - 226lb, BMI is 34.3
12/08/2020 - 221lb, BMI is 33.6
19/08/2020 - 220lb, BMI is 33.4

1 lb loss this week
9lb loss this month
13lb loss total since starting

Only 1lb this week, I was hoping for more but I'll take it and keep plugging on. Only 1 more lb to go to be a stone less than I was when I started. Hoping I can get to that point next week!

MrsJonesAndMe · 19/08/2020 11:23

Hmm, sounds lovely @fallfallfall Good luck with your busy busy time!

Wowzers @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 congratulations! Low carb certainly seems to do the trick for you. Go get a block of butter out of the fridge and see how much that is! Especially if you add another 12 to it.

@Foreverlexicon it can be hard! Just keep plugging away.

Hope you're all a bit drier than we are - very soggy here! Feel tired and pretty damn well depressed with the grey and wet. Feels autumnal or even wintery which doesn't bode well.

@SunshineCake 3 of them over 4 days of the week. I'm hanging on in there for another 2 years so DS can complete primary...then I'd like to find something a bit better suited to my low tolerance for noise and mess Blush

TheRealHousewife · 19/08/2020 11:43

Good Morning WOW’sers

How are you all doing?

12.08.20 = 9st 7.1lb
19.08.20 = 9st 5.9lb

My weight loss has slowed down but still losing. Last night I could have eaten a scabby dog I felt that hungry. I knew it was a nervous/anxiety hunger and did not succumb. This morning, no hunger but the anxiety is still there. I hate anxiety. I am able to identify it but not always able to manage it. Trying to keep busy always helps.

Will be back later to read posts & respond.

Keep at it ladies, you’re doing great!

Soggy here too @MrsJonesAndMe BBC is saying we should see the sun tomorrow, I hope so as taking DD for a socially distanced meet up with Nana in the park tomorrow.

Last week of the summer holidays here so got a few days off with DD then she's back at school next Wednesday.

Lockdown restrictions have eased a little here again so we're now on par with the rest of the U.K. as of 13th August, still no gyms or leisure centres so no swimming.

We also still can't go into other peoples homes/gardens or meet another household in a pub or restaurant.

Just did week 2 day 1 or the Our Parks couch to fitness which is a cardio day so muscles are a bit shaky. In retrospect I should have had breakfast.

@TheRealHousewife you're still losing, any loss is good no matter how big or small. Anxiety is a bastard, I hope you feel better soon! Are you anxious about anything in particular, or just in general today?
