Me personally? In the main it’s been a way of life for nearly 3 years and I’ve lost over 30lbs. I had a bit of blip at the start of C19. After all my hard work I just started eating with impunity. Before I knew it I was10lbs up! I needed to get back on it and COVID proof myself 😬 I calorie count, log via MFP app, Intermittent fast, eat-low carb Mediterranean style aka Fast800 Plan and try to stay well hydrated.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

@rivierliedje try this one, I've set the height at 5ft 4

It's a calculation in the BMI column

weight (lb) / [height (in)]2 x 703

rivierliedje · 14/08/2020 21:55

Thanks @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 i eventually figured it out! I would love to have a better grasp of spreadsheets. And this is a very uaeful one!

Galvantula · 15/08/2020 09:32

Doh I typed out a post last night but didn't hit post.

It was mostly a grumble about how very bloated I feel this week. Down a tiny 0.2 kg despite eating well the last 2 weeks. Also not really drinking because of the new medication.

Maybe once AF is away the bloat will subside 😂

Kids first few days of school went well, if a little strange for them. No school bags allowed, different age groups separated in the playground etc. Littlest did really well and is loving it so far. Her brothers both managed to ask permission to go and see her in the playground a couple of times to check she was ok. 💕 She was excited she'd be able to see them and we'd forgotten there might be separation in the playground.

SunshineCake · 15/08/2020 11:57

What lovely big brothers *@Galvantula.

I have just had an email from Pets at Home offering me lots of money off vouchers for Guinea Pig things Sad. I have only ever has two emails from them for GP things and both times they came in the week they died. I have told them he has died and hopefully they will update straight away as with my previous piggy I had to tell them several times Angry. DH has told his parents to offer the GP things to a neighbour with one and while it makes sense, it feels too soon Sad.

MrsJonesAndMe · 15/08/2020 12:24

Oh that's pants @SunshineCake

0.2 is still down @Galvantula Bless them, it sounds like it's gone well and they're very sweet.

Today is going to be a eat bread and other crap day! Tired, hormonal, weather grey, car failed MOT so trapped to walking distance for a few days. DD and I walked to Tesco and not doing much else now.

Have a good day all of you!

Musmerian · 15/08/2020 12:50

Just did the 15 min Leslie Sansome video. Fab. I’m lazy about moving at home and this will really help. Currently 155 lbs at 5’3” and have put on over a stone since October. Am doing Loseit but finding it hard to shift.

rivierliedje · 15/08/2020 12:50

Sorry @SunshineCake that's pants.
I'm down 0.7kg which is something! Small but soemthing.
I am trying a one small change a week. Slow and steady and trying not to give up when something happens (like yesterday's donuts).
Week 1 was starting the NHS 12 week fitness plan
This week was downloading my fitness pall and inputting things. Not attempting to change anything, just inputting.

Trying to decide what small change to have for this coming week.
I did my run that I meant to do yesterday, but it doesn't matter that it's one day late because there is a rest day built in to the week.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 15/08/2020 15:59

Just back from a wander around town, don't even know why some people bother putting a facemask on, half the people had them hanging off their chin or tucked under their noses.

Turns out when I'm not shopping for clothes I really have nothing I want to buy, and I'm not currently in the market for clothes as hoping to size down.

Good eating today

B - grilled field mushrooms with spicy cheese on
L - picnic plate - coleslaw, cottage cheese, chicken slices and tomatoes
D - will be beef and mushroom stir fry.

fallfallfall · 15/08/2020 16:29

Well done torys on the food choices!
I only wear mine in the store, I take it off in between shops when out in the open but then our population density here is low.

SunshineCake · 15/08/2020 17:16

I am proper fed up. DH has been out for six hours with DD which was one hour more than she should have been. The boys while here all day, have done nothing to help and DD is too tired Hmm. Dinner has turned into a mix from the freezer as someone didn't shut the door properly so boxes have gone soggy plus food has been eaten I had in mind for today so had to think of something else. I am just so tired. I am upset with the kids more than pissed off but if any of them dare to complain about dinner...

I'm not running tomorrow. DH and I need a lie in. I intended to try and stay up a bit later in the hope I sleep past six and I hope I don't have to get up for doggy. She has had us up nearly every night this week.

I have also seen a lot of people wearing their masks on their chins. What is the point?! Even if safe outside they aren't socially distancing so..

Hopefully normal service will resume soon.

I'm also due or late so...

SunshineCake · 15/08/2020 18:33

I wasn't criticising you *@fallfallfall.

fallfallfall · 15/08/2020 18:45

@SunshineCake, not sure about what or when.
sounds like you're having a frustrating day. the freezer stuff would piss me off as i'd see it as a waste of money (potentially) as i'd probably just shut the door and not worry too much about it (lest it be fish...).

SunshineCake · 15/08/2020 18:52

The face mask wearing.

I went hungry as a kid so really hate food waste.

Aurorie11 · 15/08/2020 20:19

Today has been tricky food wise as been hungry most of the day and trying to resist falling off the wagon

B - yogurt, about 10 raspberries and a peach
L - ended up being about, potato wedges and chilli, but made myself stop at 2/3rds of it
D - pizza, probably just over half of a pizza, some salad and a satsuma

Less steps today around 14k, not ideal but ok.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 15/08/2020 20:30

@Aurorie11 I find I feel really hungry if I have carbs, the hunger hits about an hour or 2 after I eat. Since increasing green veg, protein and fat and decreasing carbs I've been no where near as gnawingly hungry.

@SunshineCake hope your day has improved as it's gone on and that you get your lie in!

SunshineCake · 15/08/2020 20:52

I'm still tired. Not had a great evening. Dd was a pain and I told her off yet I feel bad.

fallfallfall · 15/08/2020 22:08

managing a household and being a parent isn't easy at all.
i signed up for a Walk at Home monthly subscription, i think i will make good use of it in the weeks and months to come. it's been two months of using it daily?
i agree with torys, protein helps keep the hungry feeling at bay but likewise i've learned that the hormone ghrelin is responsible for hunger cues and just not something that can be easily controlled. and everyone has different hormone levels.

TheRealHousewife · 16/08/2020 09:33

Happy Sunday

We went out yesterday for the day. It was lovely. Whilst out other half had a burger & chips, whilst I had a roast chicken breast I’d cooked at home. We had a large salad with fish when we returned home. This morning his highness gets on the scales to find he’s another 2lb down, whilst I find I’m a 1lb up. Hmmm 🧐. Today is OMAD so hoping to lose the gain by tomorrow!

Hope you’re feeling better @rivierliedje! Sorry to hear about the complaint. In my experience some patients can be quite flippant in making complaints (generally might be having a bad day) and they don’t realise the impact it can can. It can be about them and not really about you. Hopefully all resolved and you feel better in yourself, you’re doing a much appreciated job although that doesn’t always seem the case.

@SunshineCake Well done on the run 🥇 Sorry to hear about the insensitive emails. You’re home situation sounds difficult at the moment. Try to take some time out (cuppa and book/iPad somewhere quiet) and just breathe & relax. Let the little buggers look after themselves for a while 😬 Sending a hug.

@MrsJonesAndMe Hope you get the car through it’s MOT!

@Musmerian I love Lesley Sansone! She’s so enthusiastic!

@Aurorie11 great step count! That’s my count for a less active week 😬 Not lazy, just not capable.

Take care ❤️

Hi all

Thanks @TheRealHousewife it's easily fixed, but the garage can't help till mid week, so a bit of a pain.

Well period number 3 in 5 weeks has indeed shown up Confused And as per normal that increases the want/need to eat.

I too have enjoyed Leslie for the last month. I'm happy enough with the free stuff at the moment. Considering a kettle bell or weights... Sure it's a good investment for you @fallfallfall

How unfair about the scales @TheRealHousewife

Well done to you all on eating, losing and or exercising!

Thinking of you @SunshineCake

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 16/08/2020 19:43

Hello hello.

Hoping everyone's had a good weekend.

I made a bit of a mistake and had jacket potato for dinner tonight, biggest carb thing I've eaten in the last couple of weeks and I think my blood sugars spiked as it's only been a couple of hours but I'm starving! In a stomach growling, mouth watering kind of way.

Gonna find something high in fat and protein to take the edge off but it will mean exceeding calorie target for today. Never mind, live and learn eh!

Did the second day of my 3 a week fitness programme, lots of planks and yoga type moves. Thank god no one saw me, that was a miserable display of flexibility 😂 on the plus side it can only get better!

fallfallfall · 16/08/2020 22:30

you worded that well @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 and made me giggle a little ;)
excellent planning on the meal though.
made split pea soup and the peas are not as soft as i'd like...despite soaking and simmering...
it's almost crazy hot here, so soup number 2 will have to wait till tomorrow am.
@MrsJonesAndMe i did 3 leslie video's yesterday :) and hope to squeeze that many in today as it a very slow day here (with a bit of underlying stress as dd and her partner are bickering and sending us tm...).

rivierliedje · 17/08/2020 07:58

I had a tech free day yesterday. Well an attempt at my first "digital sabbath", I didn't quite make it (used my phone for audiobook during walk, used google maps to get somewhere, then used the internet in the evening. It was really nice and quite calming.
Did stretch and flex in the morning and went on a good walk in the evening.
Food was fine:
b: yoghurt and raspberries
L: homemade hummus and cream crackers and carrots
D: homemade potato and chickpea curry with naan
the naan tipped me over my target, but not by too much

TheRealHousewife · 17/08/2020 08:13

Good Morning

How are you all fairing. I’m doing all the right things but find I’m on a bit of a plateau, which is normal after several weeks of steady losing.

I’ll just keep on it 😬

In other news I woke feeling headachy and have a slight dry cough. Had the debate with my other half about getting C19 tested. If I’m rational about it I feel my chances of it being C19 are very slim as I’ve not been anywhere or seen anyone for weeks other than a day out Saturday. We did all the sensible advised precautions. I don’t have a temp and I think it’s just a head cold. The current situations makes you hyper vigilant! Going to see how I feel after my Zoom Yoga.

@fallfallfall 3 LS vids ... great stuff. I can’t keep up with you ladies 🏃‍♀️

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 I’m the same! My coordination is very poor so it makes for an interesting show when I do my thang 😬

@MrsJonesAndMe Pesky hormones! Hope things settle down soon.

Wishing you all a great week.

Morning all!

Still stuck at the same weight (well actually the 0.2 kg came back😅 ), looks like it might be actual weight instead of water bloat at the tail end of AF. 🙄 I feel a bit hard done by after a couple of "good" weeks but can only keep on going. :)

My appetite has not really been affected by the new medication - some find it puts them off food or they forget to eat. I'm going to a higher dose again later this week. I do feel it's making me less likely to reach for a snack as a kind of mood boost though. 👍 My big hope is that it makes me feel life is more in control and I can introduce exercise back into the routine if I feel less overwhelmed. I'm much healthier weight wise, but don't feel very fit. Another effect has been that I'll actually think about making something to eat, rather than grabbing a sandwich, tin of soup or cereal. Even just scrambled or poached eggs.

The house is extremely silent with all 3 children at school and me not if to work yet!

Hope the cough subsides @TheRealHousewife.

Will catch up later...

Lovingitinlockdown · 17/08/2020 13:03

Hi all, please may I join you?
BMI is 38 & weight is 16st 6 lb.
I've just started swimming regularly so I'm hoping that it will kick-start some weightloss.
Thanks for such an inspirational thread @TheRealHousewife 😊
