I am struggling this week.

I started Monday morning saying how strict I was going to be this week because it would get my weight below 10 stone. Monday ended with me getting chippy tea.

I know me struggling now is nowhere near me struggling 4 months ago. But I've done 0 exercise this week (first time since I started) and every day I've either been over my calories or at the top of my calorie allowance.

I know what's doing it - I'm stressed out about 1001 things and my brains all over the place.

Kid is at his dads this weekend so I'm going to have a sort out of the house. Tidy house tidy mind ha.

I'm prepared for whatever happens on Monday weigh in and just going to take this week as a holiday essentially ha.

CalmConfident · 20/08/2020 19:03

Thank you for the welcome back @cricketmum84, you have been doing brilliantly !!

JessJonesJumps · 20/08/2020 19:19

@NerrSnerr I am so impressed that you have given up fizzy drinks. I drink so many diet fizzy drinks and I know they're bad for me. Blush
I can't believe we've been back at school for a week already! I am loving being back in such a structured routine but thank goodness it's Friday tomorrow.

NerrSnerr · 21/08/2020 08:50

Thanks @JessJonesJumps. I have wanted to do it for months. I worked out how much I was spending and decided to bite the bullet. It hasn't been too bad so far.

@WhatALearningCurve hope a quiet weekend helps you out.

I am 11st 11 today. That's 6lbs off in August so far. It's my birthday tomorrow so will have a day off but try to make better choices (and a Pilates class). I am away next weekend so will finish my month on Saturday next week so hoping to get that extra pound off to get the 7lbs.

Hope everyone is well and plodding on.

peanutbutterdog · 21/08/2020 10:07

Morning, well done to everyone for their losses this week. Cricketmum, that's a truly phenomenal weight loss - congrats.

WhatALearningCurve, you've done so well up to this point, don't let one week throw you. Next week will be better.

I have lost 2lbs this week, bringing me to 12st1lb. I am so hoping for the elusive elevens next week. This week, I stopped eating breakfast Mon-Thurs to give my metabolism a boost and eat a small lunch and normal dinner.

Good luck to all for this week.

JessJonesJumps · 21/08/2020 10:14

Down another 1lb this morning ... which seems excessive so may be a blip.
I have realised since I started losing again this month that my attitude has been a big barrier in the past. In the past, if my losses had stalled for a month, I would have told myself it was my body feeling happier at that weight Grin
But I was stalled most of last month. This month has shown that it was nothing to do with my body and everything to do with not exercising enough, sleeping enough or drinking enough water. I wouldn't have broken that impasse without all the support and struggles and stories on this thread - so thank you all Flowers Flowers

SultanasofPing · 21/08/2020 10:54

I think I'm writing off this week 😊 gcse results day yesterday so between stress eating, relief eating, celebration eating and drinking and we're having takeaway tonight as we're all too exhausted to cook 😂😂 I'll be happy if I stay the same - I'm 18 down from where I started so I guess a little slack at this stage won't undo everything!!

MirandaWest · 21/08/2020 11:41

Not sure when I last posted - was 72.1 kg on 5th August, went away on 10th August for a few days, weighed myself again on 15th August and I was 72.4kg.

Then weighed myself on 19th August (after upping the movement and decreasing the calories in) and I was 70.4kg.

Would like to get past the 70kg barrier next Wednesday Smile

ZebraSpotts · 21/08/2020 12:11

Hello All,

I'm joining in this post too.
I'm aiming to lose 2 pounds a week/8 pounds a month.

Highest weight - 258lbs, in May
Aug 3rd - 234 lbs
Currently - 229lbs

So -5 so far for this month.
(-29lb total over lockdown may-aug, mostly through improved food choices)

I'm going to weigh in, in a moment.
Hopefull to achieve -7/8 fir this month

Had a glunky mood last week days but didn't use that as a reason to indulge.
I'm being very determined to rude out my mood and keep on track

ZebraSpotts · 21/08/2020 12:55

...weigh in takes me to 228. Happy with that!

  • 6 pounds for Aug so far
Ruralbliss · 22/08/2020 00:29

Well done to everyone still sticking to their plans and nudging towards their goal weights.

I had overnight visitors and cooked a huge Mexican feast with all the delicious trimmings but just had a bit of chicken and rice - no one noticed I hadn't piled on any guacamole, sour cream or cheese and I felt nicely full afterwards just not totally stuffed. I had a small G&T but didn't fancy another.

In Pizza Express I had the pollo salad but gave someone else the bread sticks and left the croutons.

Important Q for those of you nearing goal weight if you had big boobs before your weight loss:

I have really big boobs 34HH I think. I know they will likely reduce with the loss I'm aiming for 3-4 stone as started at 12 stone and only 5'3"
Am I to expect saggy floppy boobs with my planned weight loss? They aren't either at the moment.

cricketmum84 · 22/08/2020 06:25

Wow am I glad it's the weekend! 2 14 hour days Thursday and Friday and I am exhausted. Still got some work to do over the weekend too.

Weighed in at exactly 17 this morning which had given me a big boost! I've had no appetite on an evening though which had helped. Ita been confirmed I will be working from home until the end of my contract on October so I might try switching meals around and have a bigger lunch as I'm definitely not eating enough. Yesterday I had a bag of mini cheddars, half an orange and a very small portion of pulled jackfruit and spinach.

No feedback or news from the interview at all even though they said Thursday. Feeling a little sad and despondent.

Feeling v jealous of your swimming @NerrSnerr. Our local lockdown has been extended by yet another week so still no pools open :(

You have done amazing @MonicaBingaling

Ah @WhatALearningCurve we all have bad weeks from time to time. You know how to pick up and start again so I wouldn't worry. Enjoy your quiet weekend!

@JessJonesJumps ❤️❤️❤️

That's a fantastic loss @MirandaWest

Welcome @ZebraSpotts that's a brilliant loss for the month so far! Looks like you are well on track!

@Ruralbliss my boobs have definitely shrunk, I've gone from a G to DD. I'm sure I read something about sagginess being affected by chest muscles so maybe incorporate some weights into your exercise regime if you are worried and work on strengthening that muscle group?

Have a lovely Saturday everyone - I'm off to sort my meal plan for the coming week with a purring kitten snuggled up on my knee!

I have done it. Lost 3.8 kg this month although still obese. I did not let Rishi Sunak stop me. Do hard to resist that offer. My next target 5kg in total. Small steps, anything bigger scares me.

NerrSnerr · 22/08/2020 09:32

It's my birthday today- 38 years old. Having a day off today, although still doing my Pilates class. Managed to persuade my children to wait until lunchtime to have birthday cake and will have a takeaway and some gin and back to the grind tomorrow.

Well done on everyone's losses and sorry you haven't heard about the job @cricketmum84- hope they let you know Monday.

Ecci · 22/08/2020 11:28

Weigh In today, 12st 0.8lbs, gradually creeping closer to the 11s. I'm also now fitting into size 14s. Never thought I'd get to that when I started. Happy Bithday, @NerrSnerr enjoy your day off. Hope you get some good news soon about the job @cricketmum84

JessJonesJumps · 22/08/2020 19:24

@NerrSnerr happy birthday 🎉🎊

Shedtheload · 23/08/2020 12:42

Happy birthday @NerrSnerr!
I haven’t weighed for a while now and am acutely aware that I tend to weigh more the couple of weeks before my period so I am tempted to leave it until after that so that I don’t get despondent. Am trying to log everything, do my steps and weight training. I am accepting that August is likely to be a bit of a write-off for me (probably won’t lose more than 3 lb if I am lucky) but that’s okay with me. It can’t be easy all of the time and now that I am getting closer to goal weight it’s bound to slow down.

JessJonesJumps · 23/08/2020 12:48

Weight is sts here but had a nsv this morning. I'm re-arranging my bedroom again and thought I'd try on my knee-high boots. I am blessed with legs like tree trunks so usually putting on knee-high boots is a bit of a battle, involving laces through zips for more leverage etc. But, today, they both zipped up easily! First time! With no laces or struggles!
I've never measured my legs but they have looked thinner lately and the boots seem to bear that out. Grin

NerrSnerr · 23/08/2020 13:29

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a great day. I had a takeaway for tea which was lovely, didn't count calories during the day but didn't go too crazy. Of course I'll a pound up this morning but not too worried about that. Back on track today, determined to get to 11st 10 by Saturday as that'll be 7lbs off in August. We go away for the weekend on Saturday so that'll be the end of the month for me.

MotherOfDragonite · 23/08/2020 23:54

Happy birthday @NerrSnerr! It sounds lovely.

Sorry you haven't heard back about your interview @cricketmum84. I always think it's so difficult when an employer says they will get back to you by a certain time and then leaves you hanging for longer! Hopefully tomorrow...

MotherOfDragonite · 24/08/2020 00:03

I forgot! It was my weigh in day today.

Delighted that I've lost 2.6 lb. It's been a good week. I didn't use up my weekly points for logistical reasons and ended the week with 22 points still left over. I definitely will be using up my weeklies next week as I am going on holiday with family...

Starting weight: 17 st 8.6 lb
Last week: 16 st 10.6 lb
Current weight: 16 st 8 lb (-2.6 lb)

Tanaqui · 24/08/2020 05:48

Some excellent losses occurring! Great news on the boots too Jess- just in time for autumn! And happy birthday Nerr!

10st 4.1 today, pleased as a stressful week last week and didn't do so well- too much bread and cheese. On the plus side my refined sugar intake has been lower (much to my body's disgust!), as everyone around me seems to be on a health kick! Was reduced to eating a sugar cube one afternoon when I was knackered (which does rather show how bad my sugar problem is... it is what works when I can't sleep :( )

cricketmum84 · 24/08/2020 07:18

Morning all! Happy Monday!

Sorry I missed saying happy birthday @NerrSnerr! I'm so rubbish! Hope you had a lovely day.

Keeping everything crossed for interview feedback but feeling pretty nervous as I don't see how it can be good news when they have kept me waiting for so long.

We are braving pub tea tonight on the way out to help out thing. Although I must admit I'm feeling very nervous about venturing into the outside world with actual people. Spent some time checking different menus as a lot of the time the only veggie things are either full of carbs or full of cheese 😳 anyway this place does a vegan bbq beetroot kebab skewer with side salad so should be kinda safe with food choices. I don't expect that to take me over by much.

Well had best crack on with work... gonna be a busy one today. Must not snack unless it's celery sticks.

WhatALearningCurve · 24/08/2020 07:47

Morning all

9 stone 13.75 this morning.

Half a pound loss but seeing as last week involved 2 chippy teas and a pub lunch in incredibly pleased with that. Especially as it was the first time since mid April I hadn't at least gone for a walk 5 days of the week. I think I met my step count once.

Had a shocker of a week with a variety of things and I definitely reverted to eating my feelings but I also started my period on Saturday so tbh the whole week was a rollercoaster.

Back on it this week, got a uni assignment due so might not be able to exercise again this week but secretly hoping that last weeks binge gives me some water weight to drop off this week for a months end finale!

Good luck everyone

853ax · 24/08/2020 07:53

I have decided to start/join today.
+5kg since March (covid) having everyone in house all the time has been a struggle
Working from home with toddler & children so stressful I have treats when they finally in bed.
My weak point is morning a breakfast when I get up and another mid morning. My husband then cooks something unhealthy for lunch.
So I'm getting up now motivated not to eat load cornflakes
75.5kg
