Weigh in day for me today.
Just -1lb but should be happy as not a gain and this is a marathon not a sprint.

Start weight: 12 stone
Current weight: 11 stone 7lbs
Target weight: 9 stone

GetTheStartyParted · 24/08/2020 10:21

Weigh in day here too.

Lost 1lb this week, so total loss is 4st 1lb.

Happy enough with this as I am not tracking while DS1 is home, I'm just keeping carbs below 20g. He's had his leave extended by 3 days too, meaning he's home for his little brother's 12th birthday!Grin

Once he has left, I am doing a couple of weeks clean keto to get me back on track, so hopefully September's loss will be more impressive than Augusts.

How is everyone?

NerrSnerr · 24/08/2020 10:56

Well done on all the losses. My weight is still a bit up today but hoping it's still the boost from Saturday. I have done a yoga class this morning and am about to take my 5 year old swimming. Really trying to stay on track this week as I want the 7lbs for August.

NerrSnerr · 24/08/2020 10:57

And welcome @853ax- everyone is really friendly on here and supportive. Fingers crossed for some good losses.

Ruralbliss · 24/08/2020 11:05

@GetTheStartyParted That's a mightily impressive weight loss. I'm in awe and inspired too. Thanks for that.

What does 'clean keto' mean. Nil carbs?

I'm pleased that by zeroing carbs and sugar I feel less cravings for them which is great after 5 decades of being a sugar addict and feel less hungry too despite drastic reduction in calories and upping activity too.

I think my body is heaving a huge sigh of relief after all these years of poor nutrition and sedentary lifestyle!

JessJonesJumps · 24/08/2020 11:15

I did yoga this morning but struggled for some reason. Driving the school run every day is really affecting my back and hip so it might be affecting my limited yoga ability too.
Well done on all the losses!

GetTheStartyParted · 24/08/2020 13:54

Thanks @Ruralbliss Clean keto is still eating under 20g of carbs, but clean ingredients so no processed foods, no sweeteners or anything. Whole and proper foods, mainly meat and vegetables. I will also track so I meet my macros.

Keto has been a revelation for me, no hunger between meals and easy to stick to. I have been doing it for almost 7 months, I have never stuck to another way of eating for this long!

@NerrSnerr you've done really well this month, hope you had a great birthday.

bellajay · 24/08/2020 20:41

I’ve weighed in at 109.4kg so 1.9kg down so far this month and 10.8kg overall. A bit mixed about it as I’ve gone up and down so much this month and last week in particular was rough, but I got my period yesterday and I’m noticing more and more that the week before my period is just a nightmare of excessive hunger and lack of motivation.

Still a week left though and if I could manage another 0.6kg to hit 2.5 for the month I’d be pretty pleased.

Seeing some amazing losses, well done everyone!

Loseastonein21years · 25/08/2020 06:26

Well done @bellajay. Keeping my fingers crossed for the extra bit to come off. It’s been up and down for me this month too. Just weighed this morning and I am down another pound, making me just one pound away from being in the 11 stone bracket. I will try to be really careful with tracking this week and hope that it happens this month. However, I am not going to be too disheartened if it doesn’t. I have lost 35 lb so far so I should celebrate that rather than complaining that it isn’t enough.

Shedtheload · 25/08/2020 06:34

Whoops, username name fail above! It’s @Shedtheload. Maybe my new username is a reflection of what this process feels like lol!

Also, I can totally empathise with the difficulty of the week before your period. I usually feel really crappy, have food cravings and just felt fatter and less motivated. It tends to be about 10 days rather than just a week too so ugh.

bellajay · 25/08/2020 12:31

@Shedtheload you’re right, 35lbs is amazing whatever happens this week! And the week/month deadlines are so arbitrary, it’s still going to feel brilliant to be in the 11s even if it doesn’t happen until the first week of September.

So weird how the time of the month affects how likely I am to get off the sofa and do some exercise but it’s such a powerful thing! Next month I think I’ll try portioning up some chocolate and planning for it in my calories so I’ve always got a manageable treat on hand. Weirdly once my period starts I get a huge energy boost and I’m ready for anything!

WhatALearningCurve · 25/08/2020 15:04

@bellajay fun size packs of chocolate save me when I'm craving chocolate. I know exactly how many calories are in there and although I could easily eat a full family size bag of Malteasers I'm not gonna sit there and open 6 small packets so 1 bag does it

ZebraSpotts · 25/08/2020 17:43

Stuck to good eating.
Went canoeing and jumped on going to the park with kids, to get my steps in. Today's exercise was meant to be paddle boarding, but it was cancelled due to high winds, so might go tomorrow or next week.
-1 on scales today.
Means I've lost 8 pounds this month, so far!

ZebraSpotts · 25/08/2020 19:01

*7 (realised i miss counted)

bellajay · 25/08/2020 19:01

@WhatALearningCurve yes I’m thinking something along those lines. Although I 100% would eat the six bags, I figure it’s not too bad if I track it 😂

Great loss @ZebraSpotts and your exercise is so much more creative than mine! I literally just walk or cycle.

NerrSnerr · 25/08/2020 19:53

Some brilliant losses so far this week. I'm back to my pre- birthday 11st 11 so I'm pleased. The size 14 jeans that didn't do up at the end of July now fit.

I'm really enjoying my exercise at the moment, going to yoga and Pilates, some swimming and doing a workout at home a day. I downloaded a few '30 day challenge' apps and I'm doing the beginner ones and they're already getting challenging after 10 days- I had to do 50 sit ups and 50 crunches today- my abs are non existent after my children so it's a killer but no pain no gain and all that. I used to be really fit before I had children, I was running for a club and doing diving lessons so have no excuse not to get fit again!

MirandaWest · 25/08/2020 21:59

Is weigh in day for me tomorrow - not sure how it will go. Was 70.4kg last Wednesday which is 11 stone 1 and would be great to be 10 stone something again. Shall find out tomorrow morning.

Is it permissible to kill DH who bought chocolate puddings for us but hadn’t looked at the calories. I did and each one had 422 calories Shock. He was just having his and saying how good it was. I am drinking sparkling water and thinking about getting thinner...

Shedtheload · 26/08/2020 06:50

Okay so it’s only by the equivalent of a small chocolate bar or something but I am now in the 11s! 11 st 13.8 to be precise. I don’t care though, it’s the number 11 that’s important to me. I started off weighing 14 and a half stone so breaking this barrier is huge to me. Yes, I still have a way to go until my goal but it feels so much more manageable now.
Body fat percentage is down by another 0.5% which is good.

Lose 7lbs/3kg per month - its August!
bellajay · 26/08/2020 07:17

@Shedtheload congratulations!

And @MirandaWest hope you make the 10s, everything crossed!

MonicaBingaling · 26/08/2020 09:10

@Shedtheload congratulations!! That’s amazing well done!

Sorry I’ve been quiet on here lately

These days as I’m closer to my goal weight I’m either maintaining or not losing much but feeling quite happy today as finally managed to lose 3/4 of a pound which is good

My goal was always 9 stone and I’m currently 9st 4.5 so very close

Managed to fit in some size 10 jeans the other day which genuinely shocked me! I don’t know if I will ever be able to maintain this weight but I’m going to try my best

Shedtheload · 26/08/2020 10:11

@MonicaBingaling thank you! And that’s amazing about the size 10 jeans. You’ve done so well.

MirandaWest · 26/08/2020 10:33

I weighed myself and I am 70.1kg. So near and yet so far. 11 stone and 0.5lb...

Will keep plodding along - have done a couple of you tube videos this morning and going out for a walk with DH soon

JessJonesJumps · 26/08/2020 11:12

@Shedtheload congrats on reaching the 11s ! Flowers Star
Well done on the jeans @NerrSnerr and @MonicaBingaling !
I've started a 30-day online yoga programme which I'm enjoying but finding quite tough. I'm so tired which I'm blaming on being back at school and the very early rises.

GetTheStartyParted · 26/08/2020 18:32

Well done everyone, some great losses. Love when you get the next stone bracket. When you're teetering on the edge, it always feels like you get stuck.

My head is all over the place today, I've stuck to my diet but I'm only going through the motions.

DS fractured his arm yesterday, just by swinging his arm out Sad The xrays showed he has cysts on his bone, after an anxious wait, his bloods have come back clear but we now have a referral to a paediatric specialist for investigations. It all looks like its ok but I'm worrying a lot as I have never heard of this before!

Hoping to stick to my diet but my focus has definitely shifted for now.

Shedtheload · 26/08/2020 20:42

@GetTheStartyParted oh no! That sounds so worrying. I really hope it is nothing too serious and that your poor DS recovers well from the broken arm. Don’t worry if sticking to the diet is too much at the moment as it sounds like a really stressful time.
