Thank you - 3 weeks until we find out more so I need to try and relax a bit until then.

Wow you are all doing so well, wish I could break into the next stone barrier. I haven't weighed the last few days as am very (ahem) bunged up again so it's not going to be an accurate weight at all. I might just wait until after the weekend and then see where I am for the end of the month!

Tbh I'm feeling a bit despondent at the moment. I know I'm not trying hard enough. I need a good old kick up the bum!

Hi All, I realize its very late in the month to be joining but hoping to participate in September and figured I may as well get a few days headstart.
I don't have a huge amount to loose and am in the healthy BMI range although at the top end, however I have gained several kg over the last year and would like to start reversing that.
I am 5ft 9 and current weight is 11st 7lb and my target weight 10st 3lb which would take me back to where I was this time last year and slap bang in the middle of a healthy BMI range.
Planning to do it without much calorie counting as I have a history of disordered eating and don't want to do anything that may suck me back into that world. Plan is to focus on doing more exercise and making more conscious decisions around food with 16:8 fasting Monday to Friday but flexibly. I realize this plan will probably mean slower weight loss but after several months of rapidly yoyo dieting i'm hoping to start something a bit more sustainable.

Hi all. Hope you're feeling ok and your son isn't too sore @GetTheStartyParted. I had a friend whose little boy had similar with his leg and it was just 'one of those things', I think he had to have a cyst drained and he's had nothing since. I think it was something to do with the bones growing.

Keep going @cricketmum84- you'll get your mojo back soon. You've lost so much it's understandable not to be on it 100% of the time.

I'm still at 11st11 but I can definitely feel a difference in my clothes. We're having a small party for my daughter's birthday today. I have made far too much cake for the 3 friends that are coming so I need to be good and not eat too much of it!

GetTheStartyParted · 27/08/2020 10:33

@NerrSnerr thank you. I will be happy once I know his treatment plan. I hate not knowing things. I am worried about it stopping his sports for too long, he was about to go back, post lockdown and elbow injury (which they now think may actually be linked to the cysts). But what will be, will be.

It's a strange feeling when you know your body is changing but the scales don't show it, isn't it?

@cricketmum84 here's a gentle kick up the bum from me Grin I know you will keep going anyway, because you have come too far not to. The journey isn't easy and won't always move in the direction you want, when you want it to.

@GetTheStartyParted hope your DS is okay, the waiting will be difficult I’m sure but hopefully it will all end well.

@NerrSnerr I’m the opposite! 12.2 kilos down but my clothes all still fit exactly the same, not sure how that works Hmm bodies are weird?!

@cricketmum84 I’m sure you’ll have your mojo back in no time!

Hi @Foresttheout, slow and steady sounds like a great idea!

@GetTheStartyParted sorry to hear about your DS. I don't think anyone ever explains just how worrying it is to have DCs. Although any fracture is awful, I guess it could be viewed as avslight positive that you now know about the cysts and they can treat or manage appropriately. Flowers and some sneaky Gin or Wine too Wink

I have no idea what I weigh. The scales are jumping up and down by 2lbs so I'll try again tomorrow and see if they've settled.

Afternoon!! Still haven't weighed... steadfastly ignoring the scales.

Veggies have just arrived so if anyone has any ideas of what to do with the worlds biggest Savoy cabbage I would be very grateful! (Pic attached for evidence lol)

Plan for today is:
Apples and grapes for lunch
Dinner is veggie hot dogs and salad. Must avoid the chips that DH is making for him and DC!!

I am so looking forward to the weekend!

@GetTheStartyParted hope DS is feeling a bit better today, it's so worrying when they are going through tests and things. Sending love and gin x

@21rohi

LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY WHAT YOU EAT DOESN’T MATTER , HOW YOU EAT MATTERS
change the paradigm don’t count the calorie chart follow 4 thing only
REMEMBER 1 & 2 POINT IS TOO IMPORTANT THEN YOU DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT CALORIES
Hi, i read your concern just do 4 things consistent rest will be result
  1. drink plenty of water ( pref. warm) , but don’t drink before 1 hour of each meal and never drink after 1 hour and 40 minutes of any meal
  2. chew every bite 32 time and bite size should be equal to thumb nail size
  3. 10000 steps daily walk (brisk walk )
  4. sugar/cold drink and ready made juice /

exercise for 30 minutes
consistent for 180 days
remember do it with enjoy after 10 days one day will be holiday for any restriction best of luck

No thanks

Today is my final weigh in day for the month as we are going away until Monday and I'm very happy to report the scales say 11st10. That's a 7lb loss for August. It may go up again by Monday but I'm classing today as the end of the month 😀.

I'll be able to keep a track on the thread- we're all sharing a hotel room so will have time on my hands when the children are asleep.

This weekend I'm not going to count calories but there will be a lot of walking as we're at a theme park and I'm going to just try and have 3 meals. I'm not skimping on the hotel hash browns though!! Whatever happens the damage can be undone and it'll be nowhere near as unhealthy as the weekends away we had before we had children when we'd both spend the whole time drinking pints (which is half the reason I'm needing to lose weight in the first place!!)

Weight's been slowly creeping downwards towards the elusive 11s. Weigh in today 12st 0.2lbs. So, so close to the 11s, hoping I'll get there by end of the month. If not, it should definitely happen in September. Impressive loss @NerrSnerr hope you enjoy your weekend away.

I’ve got quite a few social engagements over the next few days so hoping I can resist temptation as the 3kg August loss is very much within reach and I’d be thrilled if I hit it! Especially considering how intense the last month has been at work.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Just looked at MFP for the last month and I have lost 2.5kg so this month. Might see what I weigh on Monday even though my usual weigh in day is Wednesday. Not convinced I’ll have lost 0.5kg by then though Grin

Sorry haven’t been posting much as life a bit stressful with poorly dad. I have managed to stay a bit more on the straight and narrow the last 2 weeks and have lost 5.25 lbs this month. After feeling really stuck in July, I have got into the 14’s for the first time in many years and have shifted over 5 stone since the start of the year! BMI also under 35 and I am feeling really proud of myself and really motivated.
Just need to keep on as another 4st to go ....
Well done to everyone for persevering and fingers crossed for September!

Thanks everyone. I spent yesterday eating ALL the junk food for DS's birthday Grin He's much more comfortable already and adjusting to life in a sling.

I've been able to rearrange my work hours so I can help him get dressed and to school everyday - as I usually start at 5am. So everything is moving forward and while I'm filled with a horrible, nervous anxiousness, it's not as encompassing as it first was.

So back to routine, back to dieting and back to normality soon.

Well done for some great losses everyone. I haven't been near the scales for a while, and probably won't. Hope to get back into it for September. Can't believe how fast this year is going - especially given that we have been stuck at home for so much of it.

Right, just done my end of month weigh in. I have lost 1.8 kg which is about 3 and a half pounds. So that’s about half of my goal but I’m not worried about the slow rate this month. According to my scales, I have dropped body fat, which is good. I have been weight training too which can add more weight. I have lost 16.5 kg in total so over 36 lb and I’ve done it without having to cut out all the foods I enjoy eating or feel deprived.

My goal in September is to carry on with much of the same. I am 3.9 kg away from my goal weight so even if I only lose half of that in September, I will be happy.

My non-scale goal is to sort out my wardrobe. I’ve realised that being overweight makes it harder to look effortlessly good. I have some nice things from thinner days that I will get out again. All the fat/non-flattering stuff is going to charity as I’m not going back there. I have also had a bit of an eBay spree and ordered some nice tops and a Zara blazer.

Morning all, congrats to everyone who has lost over the last month. This month hasn"t been great for me. I seem to have plateaued - started August at 12st 4.5 and am now 12st 2.5 and have been losing and gaining the same 1.5lbs for the last 3 weeks. The challenge for me now until things start moving downwards again is not to get demotivated and start eating rings around myself.

Everything crossed September is better!

Total loss of 4lbs this month. Much better than last month but a bit frustrating that I lost 5lbs in the first few weeks then put 1lb back on. Next month I need to work on getting into the mid 11s. Being in the 11s still feels a bit precarious atm.

Well done everyone! Seems like it was a great month for lots of people. I’m really pleased - weighed in this morning at 108.1kg and started the month at 111.3kg meaning I’ve lost 3.2kg over the last month. I weigh daily and my graph is up and down like a yo-yo yo but it’s definitely going in the right direction!

Thanks everyone for a great month of support. Really hoping to stay on track next month too!

Thanks for all the support everyone.

I weighed in today 1.5 lbs heavier than last week despite religiously sticking to no carbs, sugar, booze and tracking everything I ate with MFP.

Unlike previous times I'm undeterred by this. I'll continue until the scales start shifting again.

Due to return to my office this week and may look at the gym next door which presumably will be deserted as no other colleagues are returning. That might help boost things in the right direction.
