When is everyone weighing? I need to pluck up courage. I have the family round for dinner tomorrow - typical 🙄

I have just asked dd if I can borrow her watch thingy as I have nowhere to put my phone when I take the dog for a walk to count steps. I bought new leggings for the well meant, dog walking, step counting experience too - no pockets 🙄

Are we weighing tomorrow or Monday? Either is good for me

JamRolyPolyAnyone · 25/07/2020 20:21

@JamRolyPolyAnyone your username has me fancying jam roll poly with custard

Here’s your chance to start practising, “No thank you. I’m full” 🤐

lesleyw1953 · 25/07/2020 20:25

Me too, please! I have 4 stone to lose - and am doing the 1200 a day with a day off every 10 days and 10,000 steps. Good luck everyone

LimeJ · 25/07/2020 20:26

@JamRolyPolyAnyone I am going to weigh tomorrow, I can't put it off until Monday as Monday may never come. You can get those strap thingies to wrap your phone round the top of your arm, I've seen runners wearing them.

I have a dog, I am going to start walking her tomorrow and use the walk to get my step count in. My dh usually walks the dog. I hate walking but it's preferable to getting hot and sweaty at the gym.

@JamRolyPolyAnyone I don't think that I have ever uttered the words I'm full 🤣 I am going to start practicing. I'm full, I'm full, I'm full.

Neither have I - which is why we are where we are 😬

Thanks for letting me know about armband for phone. I’ve just seen one on SportsDirect -a fiver - if anyone needs one

MintyCedric · 25/07/2020 20:41

Can I join? I have a huuuuge amount of weight to lose (8st+) and am starting Monday.

I've signed up to do a charity walk for Refuge so will be walking 2km a day from 1st August and going to do a few practice walks this week.

I'm starting out on Slimfast as I bought it a few weeks back and might as well use it up, then will switch to low carbing.

I'm 44 with a severely underactive thyroid so it's going to be quite a challenge but really want to shift it before I get older and gets even harder. I've spent most of lockdown working from home in loungewear so aiming to be at least a bit more presentable by the the new time term starts.

Onthebrink67 · 25/07/2020 20:53

Can I join. Early 50s with 3 stone to lose. I do ok for about 3-4 days then seem to go mad and eat everything in sight. Need to keep up my steps and stop eating rubbish though I’m out for lunch tomorrow which is not a good start.

Riv12345 · 25/07/2020 21:02

Me too if that's ok

I need to lose weight!!!

I would love to lose 3 stone
I'm getting to the point that my joints are hurting, back hips and knees.
Anyone else have painful joints.
But yes count me in we can keep each other motivated.

Yes I'm in my 50s and tubby 😂😂

MushMonster · 25/07/2020 21:07

The shed is a light metal one. I hope you did not get hurt with the shed!
I am 42 years old and around 98 kg. Going to search how much that is in stones
LOL

LimeJ · 25/07/2020 21:07

Hello @Riv12345, @Onthebrink67 and @MintyCedric thanks for joining us.

Riv12345 me knees and lower back have started to hurt, I find it quite exhausting lugging this extra weight around. I'm hoping that losing the weight will help my joints, I feel quite stiff when I wake up in the morning.

MushMonster · 25/07/2020 21:08

15 stones, to lose at least 2!

LimeJ · 25/07/2020 21:10

@MushMonster I don't think I got hurt with the shed, I can't remember. I was only about 4 and you mentioning the shed reminded me. I've not thought of it since it happened.

Riv12345 · 25/07/2020 21:12

Thanks op
I started cutting down a few months ago
Lost half a stone in 2 weeks
Made a difference on my joints
Just loosing a little amount made a difference
I feel uncomfortable now, just want to feel good about my self.

MushMonster · 25/07/2020 21:15

MintyCedric I feel your pain. I have just stopped taking medication that makes me put weight on, and hoping that this time I will manage it better. It is heartbreaking when you try so hard but do not get as much in return.

huckie · 25/07/2020 21:18

Count me in too. I've been persistently gathering the pounds during lockdown. My thighs are rubbing together - not a good sign!

Rldx2 · 25/07/2020 21:19

Can I join please? I need to lose 2.5st!!
I'm so uncomfortable all the time, only Time I'm not is when I'm in my pjs 😩

Summerfortheages · 25/07/2020 21:21

So are we weighing in on Sundays @LimeJ?

LimeJ · 25/07/2020 21:28

@Summerfortheages yes Sunday is weigh day. I'm bloody dreading it to be honest. But, I need to know the damage.

I am not on weighwatchers or any plan, so I have been looking around and I like this <a class="break-all" href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/400-calorie-meal&ved=2ahUKEwidpK6Yn-nqAhVBlFwKHZlnDswQFjAAegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw0L1I1jj0xehvL15wGsOG2a" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/400-calorie-meal&ved=2ahUKEwidpK6Yn-nqAhVBlFwKHZlnDswQFjAAegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw0L1I1jj0xehvL15wGsOG2a

MushMonster · 25/07/2020 21:32

The meals look so tasty! And there are lots and lots.

EsmeShelby · 25/07/2020 21:34

Me, I have 5 stone to lose

Thinkimdone · 25/07/2020 21:35

Well I am a proper fatty. I've lost one but have 7 more to go Shock however I've been working on my fitness and at 18stone and 10lbs I can now run waddle jog for 20 minutes without stopping thanks to C25k. I'm only on week five and I've repeated a few weeks but the change in my fitness has been amazing. I need to lose 1.5stone to be bog standard obese so that's my first goal.
