Oh TheHoneyBadger it's very hard. Personally my good cry today followed my some plans to help my situation have helped a little. Enjoy the Baileys.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 16/07/2020 18:12

Oh no Badger. Sad Are you a teacher? Sounds like it and I'm not surprised by the poor treatment.

Hangoverstruggles · 16/07/2020 18:39

Maintenance is a good place to be @Octopus37, you're doing really well!

@everycowandagain sounds like you're making great progress, keep going! The end is in sight!

@TheHoneyBadger sorry work is shit. Just remember a few slips won't ruin and new way of eating. Sometimes we need what we need. Baileys sounds like a good choice!!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Today for me...
B weetabix, berries, almond milk, coffee
L 2 hard boiled eggs, 4 breadsticks, dip, handful of sweets, some cashews
D chicken, mixed bean chilli and broccoli

About 1200. Would like to leave it there ahead of very sociable eating weekend but we'll see. Feeling like something sweet!

Logged for the day
B: porridge
L: 2 scrambled eggs
D 2 chicken fajita wraps with sour cream and cheese
S: I made room for the brownie Grin and measured to the ml for 18ml cream to bring me up to my 1484 daily total on the button Grin

TheHoneyBadger · 16/07/2020 18:56

Thanks all. Yes I’m a teacher. It’s childish but I so wish employers could be trusted to do what they agree to doing. Every time you think things are sorted the rug gets pulled out from under you.

I made ds and I scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for an early dinner. Will most likely have a couple of glasses of wine this evening but will also take the dog out for a walk and try and stomp out some of my angst. A cry would be nice but it’s not coming. Maybe I need to watch something sad and get it out.

Moaning feels a bit self indulgent at the minute when everyone seems to be struggling with uncertainty and worries.

I have really positive patches and then slump.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 16/07/2020 19:09

Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon sounds amazing.

B: Yoghurt, toast and honey
L: Chicken stew, chocolate biscuit
D: Greek yoghurt pizza, spinach
S: Birthday cake (just keeps giving!), Reese's thin,

Sorry to hear about your work being shit @TheHoneyBadger. I was a primary teacher for many years. I think a lot of the problem is that a lot of the managers are there not because they are good at management, but because they are sick of or bad at teaching and want a pay rise.
Solidarity!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 16/07/2020 19:17

Teaching is hard work Badger, it's physically and mentally exhausting, it really is. (I'm a former teacher). Definitely give yourself permission to complain without feeling guilty.

TheHoneyBadger · 16/07/2020 19:34

Two escapees. I’m an escapee who went back. Stockholm syndrome?

I’ve got to find a way to let it go and just see what September brings. It’s just unfortunate that the guy who does timetabling seems to think part time staff should just fit in like handy spare pieces on his chessboard.

Am feeling less and less like this long walk I’m meant to be taking. Might just be a little one and an early night. Or maybe I should have a go on ds’s boxing bag

SnowyMouse · 16/07/2020 19:47

I'm dreading the dentist tomorrow.
B: porridge
L: tomato soup
S: duck gyoza
T: mango
S: smoked salmon with pepper and lemon juice

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 16/07/2020 20:01

Good luck with the dentist snowy
Today's food
B. Skyr yogurt, mixed nuts and seeds, coffee
L. Pasta pesto with peas and garlic prawns
D. Quorn nuggets, homemade oven chips, green beans in garlic lemon dressing, spoon of ice cream with half a crumbled up meringue nest and a load of blueberries
S. Apple, strawberry cornetto.
Total just under 1500
Gonna go out for a walk in a bit to get my steps up above 10,000

RaraRachael · 16/07/2020 20:10

I feel I'm doing fairly well on my own by walking, doing some exercises and eating sensibly but wondering if there are any useful apps that people have used to monitor their progress?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 16/07/2020 21:15

That's exactly my kind of lunch Iggle!
I use My Fitness Pal to log food and weight.
DH uses MFP and Strava to log exercise.
I've heard that Lose It is another good app.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 16/07/2020 21:45

Yeah MFP and Strava.

Badger I'm considering going back but only in a different sector - special needs maybe or FE. Not sure I want to go back to mainstream secondary.

Went on a lovely socially distanced walk with a friend and her dog.

TheHoneyBadger · 16/07/2020 22:14

Why ever not honey? Grin

I’ve walked and ended up with respectable steps and low cals so hopefully the scales will cheer me up in the morning.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 16/07/2020 22:18

Grin no reason really. After all you only work 6 hours a day and get 13 weeks off a year, it's a great job! There's definitely not a shortage of teachers, there's an abundance of them because it's such a brilliant career Grin

(In all seriousness I'm in a shortage subject so could be tempted by a decent part time timetable and generous salary)

Heygirlheyboy · 16/07/2020 23:08

I use Lose it. Walked 12k steps and that helped turn my upset to righteous rage!

TheHoneyBadger · 17/07/2020 07:10

Morning all. Good news from the scales. Pms fluctuation gone and back to 14st5 meaning over 4lbs loss so far in July. So already a better month than June.

Going away next weekend and will no doubt have plenty of alcohol calories and longer eating windows but should be some good long walks and possibly some swimming in cold sea so that will help minimise damage hopefully. Want to try and be good till then though.

TheHoneyBadger · 17/07/2020 07:12

I use Fitbit and now snazzy scales that measure everything and communicate with my phone and Fitbit through Bluetooth

Heygirlheyboy · 17/07/2020 07:56

Ooh let's see the snazzy scales! 3 weeks into more exercise I'm biting the bullet and going for first run in around 2 months today. It's just quicker! So wish me luck. Aiming for 20 mins and will keep going if it can.

Octopus37 · 17/07/2020 08:04

Sorry to hear about your work situation Badger, all so hard at the moment. I totally take my hat off to teachers, always have done, but even more after doing a bit of home schooling. Hope the dentist goes ok Snowy. Looks like its going to be a lovely day today.

OP posts:
Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 17/07/2020 08:36

Weighed in today and I've lost that 2lbs again, hopefully this week I can progress beyond it!!

Heygirlheyboy · 17/07/2020 09:50

Well done iggle! I'm hoping to see 9st 5 in the next ten days, that will take me to 4 weeks totally back at it.

SnowyMouse · 17/07/2020 11:46

Thanks all, the dentist went ok, got some new toothpaste.

I've dipped below 13 stone today Smile

I use MFP @RaraRachael

Well done on all the weight losses!
