Great going and delicious menu! Star

TheHoundsofLove · 14/07/2020 11:34

That's a fantastic result for 2 weeks hard work Hey - well done!

TheHoundsofLove · 14/07/2020 11:35

Peanut and lime salad sounds nice Honeysuckle - what do you put in it?

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 14/07/2020 11:41

Mmmm yes that sounds a lovely days food honeysuckle

TheHoneyBadger · 14/07/2020 11:47

Glad you didn’t drive. Sorry again monster. Shit day indeed.

Weighed in at 2.5lbs higher than my lowest point this month but still 3lbs lower than start of the month. Hopefully that’ll be easy to drop back off now af has arrived and nothing social planned for at least a few days. Also have 2 afternoons in school this week which will be easy and active long fasting window days.

From September I’m in 3 days a week and the kids are staying in year group zones and teachers running around to different zones every lesson carrying books etc. So on the bright side I’ll be keeping my steps up and no time to even think about food

HoneysuckIejasmine · 14/07/2020 12:28

This is the recipe - I've adapted it to suit my calorie target. I.e. I don't do the topping, no oil or sugar in the dressing.

TheHoundsofLove · 14/07/2020 14:25

Thanks for that Honeysuckle .

Heygirlheyboy · 14/07/2020 14:40

Thanks Hounds Smile It's been more concentrated effort than hard work. Not feeling hungry or overly restrictive which is great and I'm benefiting from the walking. Win win. Period now so may stand still for the next week. Will see.

B: porridge with banana
L: 2slices sofa bread with cajun chicken and salad leaves, grapes, carrot sticks and almonds (picnic)
D: fajitas or ratatouille
S: Strawberries and 50g Greek yoghurt
Have had all but dinner at this point and I'm up to 867.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 14/07/2020 15:22

Blimey this Ted talk is interesting. The guy is talking about how we burn between 100-300 calories a day more in the luteal phase, can lift 60% of what we usually might in the gym at this time and we should be measuring and weighing ourselves in line with menstrual cycle so comparing week 1 with last month's week 1 and so on.

I thought it might be rather helpful to some on here who struggle with their cycles. And he's hot.

Heygirlheyboy · 14/07/2020 17:17

Really interesting monster! I started at the wrong time so according to him but to no detriment thankfully. However it's really useful to think of those phases and give ourselves a break at those times too. As he says you could just plan to eat three extra pieces of fruit those days and that could go towards helping at least or a bar or two of chocolate! For now I'm happy with my JS high cal day, I'm just going to do two per week.

TheHoneyBadger · 14/07/2020 17:46

Good watch thanks monster. I’d decided I needed to really make the most of the first half of my cycle and this backs that up with facts. The last week is just damage limitation for me and accepting that helps. I have less energy, feel more tired more easily and find fasting much harder but really effective when I manage it (now I know that’s because I’m actually using more energy).

Discovered this cycle that I can still fast in the later part of my cycle and have good results but I have to minimise activity to manage it.

Interesting stuff. Thanks

MonsteraCheeseplant · 14/07/2020 18:48

The current knowledge about the physiology of women is clearly in the dark ages.

B: Yoghurt, honey on toast
L: Spanish chicken soup
D: Jambalaya
S: Fibre one cake bar, berries, chocolate cake

Heygirlheyboy · 14/07/2020 19:02

You fitted lovely snakes in there!! Jealous.

Is it just me that finds the hardest bit of cycle the first day or two? I'm day one here and I'm headachey and completely wrecked.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 14/07/2020 19:10

I did go over budget but not by tpo much I reckon Grin I've got a load of cake crumbs from the cakes I made for DH's 40th so i can spoon them into a bowl. Yum. I was hoping to have ice cream with it but I can't bring myself to reduce the amount of cake to allow for it Grin

I am rubbish at noticing patterns tbh and i'm very lucky that I don't really suffer with my periods. Except i'm more likely to cry for no reason.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 14/07/2020 20:07

Eek @TheHoneyBadger! I used to have a ppa cover job like that and I hated having no base. Make sure you have a thermos of tea/ coffee with you or a water bottle. I used to get really dehydrated running around all day with no breaks. Hope it goes well.
Today's food
B. Skyr yogurt and nuts, coffee
L. Homemade bean burger & salad
D. Chicken breast wrapped in Parma ham, peas, bok choi, mashed potatoes
S. Chocolate brownie, oringina
I went to a cafe on my own to have the brownie, bliss!
Total calories 1300
Steps so far 10, 000 but will likely be at about 15000 by the time I get home.

Interesting about the different needs at different times of your cycle, intuitively it seems about right to me.

GreyGardens88 · 14/07/2020 20:10

B: Black Coffee with artificial sweetener
L: Can of Heinz Beef Broth soup
D: Two breaded Chicken steaks and rice
S: Multi-Vitamin tablet, ice lolly

11k steps done

TheHoundsofLove · 14/07/2020 20:23

You did well for 1300 there Iggle and a solo cafe visit sounds wonderful.
I'm finishing on 1582 - a bit high, but at least it's all logged!

Heygirlheyboy · 14/07/2020 20:55

You did amazing iggle! Would love the recipe for the bean burger. Well done hounds, you've easily burned more than that I'm sure. I've taken a break from exercise today and hoping for a reasonably early night.

Hangoverstruggles · 14/07/2020 22:06

Evening all,

B banana, 2 coffees
L jacket potato, beans & salad, small fruit salad
S protein yogurt, teaspoon of peanut butter
L boiled eggs, smoked salmon, toast, yogurt, dime bar mini

  1. Also did a HIIT class in the park and genuinely can not walk down stairs or sit down without collapsing.

Tomorrow is fish & chips takeaway dinner with friends but not until 8pm 😩 think will struggle to keep going! Going to aim to fast all morning, then have a big bowls of oats & banana to fill me up. Crap for protein though.

Octopus37 · 15/07/2020 07:56

Wow well done everyone, sorry have got a bit behind with all off this. Monstera, really sorry to hear about your cat, take care of yourself.

No real change for me (how long have I been saying that for), not really in the zone for various reasons, weigh 9st0.5 at the moment. If I do get my act together, I might get into the 8s this month. I'm doing more walking which is helping with maintenance.

Morning everyone. Hope all goes well today. I need a holiday. We were supposed to go today but it got postponed due to DH's work, not actually corona. We both need a break though.

There's a facebook group that i really value called Lose Weight, Eat Pizza. It's for calorie counters. I recommend it fyi.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 15/07/2020 09:04

Hi all, yeah most of yesterday's calories were the brownie! The beanburger was home made but not by me, a friend's boyfriend made them for a BBQ and I froze the leftovers. They are made from blackbeans (slightly dried out in the oven), bread crumbs, onion, chilli flakes, I think there's a grating of cheese in there too and bound by an egg. Delicious! He is a really good cook, but I can't be arsed with recipes that have more than one stage so I didn't take it down in detail, just logged a random homemade bean burger from mfp.
Nice to see you octopus!
Well done on the 11k steps greygardens.
Hope everyone has a good day. I'm hungry, so probably will have quite a high calorie day today. Started with buttered toast and marmalade and a gallon of coffee.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 15/07/2020 09:26

Heygirlheyboy · 15/07/2020 09:28

Plan to hit the 10k today. Totally bloated on day two of period so won't weigh again till Fri. High cal day for me today (1650)

D takeaway (have nearly 1000cals left for it so will enjoy)
Husband has made gooey brownies so I may or may not fit one in. Busy day here. Have a good one all.
