@Thestral another 5ft 4 lady. Funny you should say about the quadruple chin. This is me, my neck suddenly looks really fat, as does the rest of me.

littleninja · 29/06/2020 11:02

Forgot to say I'm barely 5ft so definitely a shortie!

@MoonBaby1 thanks for the welcome. I reward myself with food and comfort eat to make myself feel better.

@lyricallie your plan sounds very severe to me. I wouldn't be able to stick to that for very long at all as I would feel like I am depriving myself. I'm sure your upcoming wedding is a great motivator though!

I'm giving intermittent fasting a go. 16:8. Just had yoghurt and fruit with chia seeds for breakfast. It will be salad for lunch and a vegetable curry (minus naan bread) for tea.

I tend to need a mid afternoon sugar hit and snack in the evenings. These are the times I will really need willpower.

Love your reward chart @flippinfurloughed! I might have to make one too!

Heartbreaker83 · 29/06/2020 11:03

Please can I join you all?

I’m 5.1 and weigh 78kg - I put on about 5kg since my wedding last year, but ideally would like to be around 67kg 😩😩😩 majority of it has come on during lockdown, and I had an awful realisation putting on a skirt that could no longer go over my thighs!

I had a burst of doing YouTube exercises but lost my motivation after a 3 weeks and no changes on the scales. I find exercise really doesn’t shift the scales for me (v annoying) only by eating A LOT less which is a challenge because I’m an emotional eater .

It was interesting to read that us shorty’s don’t need very many calories, I struggle with portion sizes.

Jannyapple66 · 29/06/2020 11:08

Fantastic , more shortie ladies
You don't all need to be 5 ft 4 but looks like lots of us are
We can do this ladies , however suits us best
Let's celebrate every Lb we flush down the loo
Oh and to the poster who said about finishing kids leftovers, when mine were young I used to squirt washing up liquid over the plate to stop me from doing it Smile yummy lol

sevendevils · 29/06/2020 11:12

@Jannyapple66 how many calories per day are you aiming for?

Exercise will never shift the scales unless you're eating in calorie deficit too, but you can earn yourself a good chunk of calories by exercising so it is worth doing
Jannyapple66 · 29/06/2020 11:17

Hi @sevendevils
I'm doing the new Cambridge 1:1 for a couple of weeks
Started Friday ... 3x 200 cals for BLD with gallons of fluids in between
I've found it ok but won't be able to do it for long , very restrictive
600 calories a day is ridiculous. I'm a nurse so need my energy
But I really wanted to see a boost and an immediate nice loss , which I will get
Then I will aim to move onto a more normal but healthy eating plan ..hoping this will detox the sugar and bad carbs

DanniArthur · 29/06/2020 11:24

I was thinking I should loose weight aswell! I've not weighed myself in years but I've definitely went up a dress size the past 2 years (since having DD) I'm 5ft5 so still fairly short! Anyone got any good diets or is it just a case of cutting back on fats and smaller portions? I like to dance and go walks with DD but that's it as far as exercise Blush

sevendevils · 29/06/2020 11:31

@Jannyapple66 600 calories is so little, I don't think I could do that. You will lose lots of weight though.

Jannyapple66 · 29/06/2020 11:39

I thought the same but I've been fine
I don't think it really matters what diet you do , it's cutting out the crap that matters
Ideally I'd like to never be on a diet again - I'd like to be that woman who can have one biscuit, one bag of crisps one chocolate from the tin
To me that's normal eating
Making good choices and enjoying food

MoonBaby1 · 29/06/2020 12:29

Does everyone want to do a weekly weigh in? Is Saturday too brutal? (only suggested because I weighed myself on Saturday)

sevendevils · 29/06/2020 12:31

@Jannyapple66 I agree, I don't think it matters which diet you do. It's all about reducing the calories in and moving more. I would love to try the Cambridge diet for a week or two. I am still adjusting to 1200 or less, I reckon I was consuming at least 3000 calories a day with all the chocolate that I was consuming. I definitely don't feel as hungry as I did today.

sevendevils · 29/06/2020 12:36

Hi @MoonBaby1 Jannyapple and I are weighing in on Fridays, Fat Friday weigh in! We all started on different days but I agree a mass weigh in day would be great.

Jannyapple66 · 29/06/2020 12:46

@MoonBaby1
And anyone else that wants to join
Come join us on a Friday
Loving fat Friday @sevendevils lol

hopeidontforgetthisusername · 29/06/2020 13:18

I too would love to join in!
At 5 ft 1 i was 12 stone 12 a month ago (how did that happen?) and have lost 10lbs so far. I could do with losing another 2 stone minimum and then seeing from there.

LemonPeonies · 29/06/2020 13:29

Sounds like I need to buy some scales Grin so far I have been going by how clothes fit but it would do me good to actually know my weight too. Amazon it is.

Jannyapple66 · 29/06/2020 13:43

Maybe not @LemonPeonies lol
How clothes fit and feel is equally useful
What you don't want to do is get some scales and then become a slave to them ... speaking from experience here
Welcome all newbies , fab !

DulciUke · 29/06/2020 13:49

@sevendevils I've found that walking every day has helped to keep me sane during lockdown (I live alone, and tend to get a bit depressed). It has also helped with my weight loss, but of course, the food intake is the important part. I don't think that I could do some of the severe diets listed on here, so I'm sticking with just trying to cut back and eat more healthily. And stop buying candy and crisps.

Jannyapple66 · 29/06/2020 14:17

@hopeidontforgetthisusername welcome to the Fat Friday club lol
Love the user name , wish I'd put a bit more thought into it

Teaismynewfriend · 29/06/2020 14:59

Hi, can I join please?
5ft 2in and 10st 5lb. I've put on almost a stone in the last year and I have recently tried and failed at the fast 800 so I'm starting something I hope will be easier. 1500 cals per day, moderate carb and high protein, moderate fat. Skip breakfast and eat under 1000 cals x2 days a week. I've started a strength training workout x3 per week and daily hill walks of 50 to 60 mins with my dog is quite normal for me anyway. I've just been on a camping holiday and have eaten like a pig and drank like a fish. I am going down the wrong path and I need to get back on track!!!

prolefeed · 29/06/2020 15:17

Moon I’m easy on what day to weigh Smile
Weighing in has been a bit controversial- it used to be said only to weigh once a week so you don’t get upset at the daily (hourly lol) fluctuations - it’s normal for weight to vary by a pound or two depending how much water you are retaining etc, but I’ve seen a couple of things recently that suggest every day is okay (as long as you bear fluctuations in mind) because it helps keep you motivated. I’ll probably monitor every day anyway and post results once a week. It looks like we have a group of Friday weighers, but I can switch to Saturday easily 🤷‍♀️

sevendevils · 29/06/2020 15:38

@Jannyapple66 you can change your username anytime you like in settings.

ZetaPuppis · 29/06/2020 15:41

I’ve started properly today.
Breakfast was a mushroom omelette. I had an apple and a few crisps (I really need to ditch them) dinner is some dhal. I’ve got some after eights mints and will have one after dinner (I really need to ditch them too)
I went in a lovely hours walk today and going to do some toning exercises.

Babz88 · 29/06/2020 15:49

Can I join! I’m 5.1 and 11st2lb, I’ve lost 5.lb since I started my weight loss journey. It’s a very slow process. My weight goal is 9 stone so I have a long way to go. I have spent 3 years on steroids due to ill health and I gained a lot of weight through them. I’m off the steroids ow so hoping I can lose the weight.

Jannyapple66 · 29/06/2020 15:51

@ZetaPuppis wish I could eat one after eight mint ! That's my problem if I have one I'll just scoff the whole box and then I'll feel so rubbish I'll go the shop and buy some Ben and Jerry's plus some Cadbury buttons to inhale on the way home ( they don't count because the packet won't come in the house )
