Have come for a walk as have a gap in the middle of work I brought 4 small snacks and have only eaten 2 which I see as a success Grin

madwoman1ntheattic · 09/07/2020 15:30

He cooked bloody pie and mash 😂😂
He did send ds1 to enquire tentatively if I would be eating it (after it was all cooked).
I got out of my meeting at 9pm and there was NO WAY I was rustling up a salad. Today is another day. Better get on the bike tonight!!

wrensandrobins · 09/07/2020 15:38

@madwoman1ntheattic

If it's any consolation my other half cooked me pasta- and because he wouldn't find any pasta sauce he used dominos garlic and herb dip as a sauce, not only unhealthy but a little bit crazy.

I had toast haha

MirandaWest · 09/07/2020 17:38

I would really like some sugary snack.

This losing weight is hard work

KarrieKay · 09/07/2020 18:12

I’m feel too lockdown crap weather miserable to diet. This week is being written off and started again tomorrow!

Icanflyhigh · 10/07/2020 03:24

I'm 5ft4" 12st 7lbs and I'm fat.
My SIL to be tagged me in a photo from the weekend and I look like a barrel.

I need to lose 2st minimum. I should have got married 3 weeks ago and its postponed to June next year.

I have to do this.

Clarke45 · 10/07/2020 03:55

Is it too late to join? I've only just found you fellow shorties! I'm 5ft3.5 (very proud of the .5!) and weigh 12st2. I feel so horrible but this doesn't stop me stuffing my face full of crap. I need a kick up the arse to get me going 😪

madwoman1ntheattic · 10/07/2020 03:59

Yay! More shorties! Grin

istheresomethingwrongwithme · 10/07/2020 05:44

Hello,

Please can I join you. I managed to loose about 12lbs and got back to my target weight at the start of lockdown. I have put ALL of it back on. I feel horrible, none of my clothes fit and I'm so uncomfortable.

I am 5ft 5 and I weigh 12stone 11lbs as of this morning. I need to get back down to 12 stone. I'm still technically overweight at this weight, but this is a weight I can realistically maintain and it puts me at a size 12 ish which I'm happy with.

I will be going for a 3.5 mile jog this morning then meeting with a friend this afternoon for a walk. We'll have our toddlers/babies in tow, so it will be at little legs pace and whilst it won't burn many calories, it will stop me eating through boredom (hopefully).

I usually do Slimming World, but do have a tub of Slim Fast in the cupboard, although that's probably not the best way to loose. Would take the effort out of thinking of something for breakfast and lunch though.

beenrumbled · 10/07/2020 07:09

Please can I join too?

I turn 50 next month - I'm 5ft 2 and weighed myself on Monday - 9st 13 and a half. Sad I would love to be 8 1/2 stone again but realistically 9st is my target.

I had started C2k5 in January, but gave up on week 6 as my knees were really painful, but my weight was down to 9st 5lbs; it crept up again as soon as I stopped

Pre lockdown I used to walk 3 mles a day for work, but when we had to WFH this stopped, and when lockdown started I was determined to get fitter, knowing without this I would pile on weight. I started using our cross trainer and exercise bike and doing weights. Then I lost my way, stopped, and ate crap and drank too much - it's not helped that DH is shielding so we were really all avoiding leaving the house as much as possible.

When I weighed myself on Monday I decided to give it another go. Reducing bad carbs, and a 18:6 - exercising more (weights and home equipment) and I have now found stretches that might help with C25k knees, so I'm going to do them for a couple of weeks and start running again. But i did cave and have a take away on Wednesday Sad

I've found reading all your posts really helpful, and supportive - I might not post a lot but reading other posts really helps- I'm not the only round vertically challenged person weeble out there!

MirandaWest · 10/07/2020 07:51

I need to get out of bed and go and run. Well do week 3 run 2 which does have some running in it

KetoWinnie · 10/07/2020 07:54

Join us on the keto thread! It came to my attention just before 11 stone. I was SHOOK.
How did that happen?! carbs

Onefishtw · 10/07/2020 08:20

Please can I join you? I’m 5”2 and 12st 8 in the morning and 12st 12 before bed! 2 babies on the bounce but the last one was 3 years ago! I’m active and run 5k 3 times a week, don’t drink and I’m vegi and plenty of fresh veg and fruit. I think my downfall is snacking and sugar! I can’t just have one biscuit I have half a pack at least. So greedy! It’s hard to stick to anything but 16:8 might be a good start and calorie counting. I’ve had back pain for years and I think it’s weight related so I need to put this right. It’s so reassuring to hear from others like me, especially the success stories.

GinnieHempstock · 10/07/2020 08:27

Welcome fellow shorties.
First weigh in today and I’ve lost 2.6 lbs Grin Very pleased with that, now 12st 0.4lbs, so so close to the next stone zone.
I had a Dominos last Saturday (all planned and recorded) so you can still have treats and lose.
@MirandaWest I’m due to do w3r2 today as well. I’ll do it if you do. Pact?

littleninja · 10/07/2020 08:47

Hey all, just checking in.

I've not been quite as good as last week, but certainly not as bad as I used to be with food so I'm still hoping for a slight loss at weigh in on Monday (if I can curb the drinking this weekend)

Tried a protein shake for breakfast one morning. It was rank. Made me gag. But it did the trick - I skipped breakfast for a day!

Well done to everyone who is still motivated, exercising and eating well.

Maryward · 10/07/2020 08:49

Hi, I also got a big shock when I saw a recent photo. I looked like a mountain. Very upsetting and I can’t believe I’ve let myself go. Think as I was a broke over the past couple of years & didn’t buy any clothes or go clothes shopping...didn’t realise I was so big. I’m 5 foot 3 & scales say 12 stone 5 😢I’m 43 , used to always be 9 stone, remember last weighing myself & I was 10 stone! Eek 😱 I am starting today, looked up that teet info. Think calorie intake too high, I am going to aim for really low carbs & lots of veg etc. I can usually last about a week & then gorge, feel loathsome etc
Really hope can start a new way of eating & living now. None of my clothes fit. I seem to have a lot of fat around my middle & my neck. Also have hypothyroidism which makes weight loss so slow, I get disheartened. Need to drink lots of water.
Hopefully support here will keep me on track. Crisps are my achilles heelBlush

MirandaWest · 10/07/2020 09:16

@GinnieHempstock I’ve done my run 🏃‍♀️ Smile

Took a different route and ended up running up a hill for my last 3 minute run Grin but it gave me enough energy to keep running for another 2 minutes afterwards.

MirandaWest · 10/07/2020 09:20

@Maryward I am very similar to you. Am 44, always used to be 9 stone. When I had last weighed myself I was 10 stone something. Weighed myself a couple of weeks ago and it was 12 stone 7lb or so. 79.5kg anyway Shock
I have been having to buy bigger clothes and my tummy is horrible and all of me seems to have inflated.

My downfall is sweets. I hate to think how many calories I’ve been having that were purely sweets.

Am determined to lose this weight - am down to 75.9kg now after a couple of weeks calorie counting and lots of walking and also couch to 5k and will keep on going.

Now for a fun filled day of accountancy exam paper marking...

Damn, I have to run now! Grin
Well done. I run/ walk around a country park and can’t avoid the hills, but I keep telling myself they are good for me.
I will be going this afternoon after work - will post afterwards to keep me accountable.

SerenDippitty · 10/07/2020 10:12

5ft 2 and 10st 9lb. Was 11 stone when I came back from a pre lockdown holiday and shocked by how I looked in the photos. I have stopped snacking and cut out refined sugar (apart from a square or two of 85% dark chocolate in the evening which I have for its anti inflammatory properties for my dodgy knees. Cut back on alcohol too. Do a resistance band workout daily, Pilates once a week on Zoom and will be going to the gym when it reopens.

Nodancingshoes · 10/07/2020 10:27

5ft1 and 12st4...In january of this year I was 13st7. Slimming world was going great but have struggled to lose anything else since lockdown started - just managing to maintain give or take a few pounds. I need to get back on it properly but without someone weighing me I just don't have the motivation

Maryward · 10/07/2020 10:37

I am going for a cycle now, have dug my bike out of the shed! Can’t run as knees get very sore so hopefully I’ll enjoy the cycling. Think I will try an online pilates class on YouTube, I have no muscle in my core though. Jeez 4 kids, it’s all wobbly. Will give a go. Where do you find a resistance band class on YouTube ? Any suggestions? Loads of beginner pilates.

wrensandrobins · 10/07/2020 10:38

Been for my run this morning- I'm 5'2 and was 13'13 on may 10th my birthday! now 12'4 if i lose 6 more pounds I'm no longer obese!

I'm so pleased with the progress I am making! Me and my partner want to start trying to conceive after December so I'm trying to get as close to a healthy bmi as possible, but a healthy bmi is 36 pounds away and then I will be only one pound away from being overweight, still the closer I get the better!

27Yardsofdentalfloss · 10/07/2020 13:35

Is it ok if I join this thread please? (I thought I had posted on it this morning but I'd accidentally posted on a different thread!)
I'm 46, 5' 2.5" and hovering between 11st 10lb and 12st 3lb. I'm an emotional eater - up until a few years ago I was around 9 stone. When my mum got ill and later died, I piled the weight on but 2 years ago, with a beach holiday hanging over me, I lost most of it. However it's crept back on since then and I'm back where I started.
Last week I started on the 5:2 diet - so far so good although I've not been weighed yet - and yesterday I dusted off the Fitbit that's been languishing in the drawer and went on a 6.5 mile walk.
I'm hoping to get back to swimming once the pool is allowed to open again.
My aim is to get back to 9 stone by next spring, so that when the weather warms up next year, I'm not hiding away in jeans and trousers.

MirandaWest · 10/07/2020 14:26

The more the merrier Smile

I need to do more walking today.

Although it’s just started pouring down so hopefully will have stopped later on
