Good couple of days but not seeing much shifting on the scale, so figured I had better be a little more ruthless. Going to try to get some exercise in every day as well. If this needle doesn’t move by Saturday, I’m going to lose my mind...

isitstillockdown · 08/07/2020 07:07

@Polkadotpjs maybe you haven't put on 3 lbs - remember new scales will always be slightly different so just log that and then the next weight will demonstrate any change

Good morning all ,
Have a great day shorties

MirandaWest · 08/07/2020 07:27

I need to get out of bed and weigh myself. Am apprehensive as to what the scales will show; first week last week was good but I’m worried it won’t have continued.

And then I need to do my next couch to 5k run

MirandaWest · 08/07/2020 07:53

I weighed myself Smile

Now 75.9kg Smile

Was 77.6kg last week

MirandaWest · 08/07/2020 07:53

Which also means I am below 12 stone. Just Grin

alwaystiredalwaysgrumpy · 08/07/2020 07:54

Wednesday weigh in. Stayed the same. 10st 7. Not surprising as I had a couple of bad days, but I can't help be disappointed. Why are the margins so damn small for us shorties!

isitstillockdown · 08/07/2020 07:57

Well done @MirandaWest I'd love to get to the next stone
@alwaystiredalwaysgrumpy ... well done on not gaining ... it's a continuous battle ... keep going with an extra wee push , remember there are many fluctuations that happen over the course of the cycle of life - bowels , hormones etc - show them fucking scales who's boss !

KarrieKay · 08/07/2020 08:26

@alwaystiredalwaysgrumpy I'm the same this week too after a 4lb loss last week. Since i'm due my period, broke the diet on sunday and feeling like a beach ball I think I'll take that!
Back on it this week!!

wrensandrobins · 08/07/2020 08:43

Late to the party but I am also a short person, Losing weight! I'm 5'2 and have lost a stone and a half during lockdown! Currently 12 st 7!

Following a no sugar, low carb diet but also sticking to 1200 calories so I don't overeat portions :)

isitstillockdown · 08/07/2020 08:46

@wrensandrobins can I ask what you would eat in a typical day ? Does no sugar mean no fruit ?
It seems to make sense cutting crap sugar and crap carbs is the way to go but to what extend is that ?
I'd really miss fruit

GinnieHempstock · 08/07/2020 08:50

Welcome done Miranda 💐. My weight was the same as yours last week. I am due to weigh in on Friday and I’d love to get under 12st. Enjoy your run.
Always - look at it that you have lost 2lb per week in the last two weeks. That sounds good. I also get annoyed that as a shorty my calorific needs are not the same as my 6’4” DH. As an intelligent woman, it took me an embarrassingly long time to realise that Blush

GinnieHempstock · 08/07/2020 08:51

Welcome wrens - well done On the weight loss, that’s a fantastic achievement.

MirandaWest · 08/07/2020 09:14

@GinnieHempstock my DH is 6 foot 2 and it is difficult realising (and getting him to realise) that we do not need the same size helpings!

MirandaWest · 08/07/2020 09:15

Did my run which went well. 3 minutes running felt fine although I was glad when it was time to stop especially after the last interval.

I did body measurements today as well and it seems that I am losing weight from my breasts Grin

MirandaWest · 08/07/2020 09:20

It does not help that McDonald’s are sending me emails telling me that McMuffins are back.

I will delete them

wrensandrobins · 08/07/2020 09:25

@isitstillockdown I eat loads of veg and meat, eg substitute my pasta for spiralised carrots and have loads of bolognaise. I do still have fruit, I have cut back, I normally have a bit mid afternoon and a portion of berries with plain yogurt for pud! I haven't felt deprived, and the cravings for sweet things have gone entirely where before I would satisfy a sweet craving and want more an hour later!

isitstillockdown · 08/07/2020 09:29

Thanks wrens
That's good to hear ... I hear berries of any description are the best fruits to go for so I can cope with that lol

isitstillockdown · 08/07/2020 09:33

How you doing today @sevendevils

7996cath · 08/07/2020 09:44

Ooh this is interesting, another shortie here whose weight has been creeping up! 🙋🏻‍♀️😂.

I’m just under 5ft 2 and hit 11st 3 during lockdown after bulk ordering Cadbury’s from Amazon.

Now I’m following a plan from a book called ‘fat around the middle’. I am a classic ‘Apple’ (barrell 😂) shape and this book makes so much sense. I suffer from anxiety and am a total sugar addict, it’s a vicious circle apparently. I’ve been exercising more but following this plan (low sugar, unrefined carbs, less meat) means I’ve already lost half a stone in 2 weeks. I do feel quite sad and anxious though, think it may be the sugar withdrawal...I was on 16 cans of caffeine free Diet Pepsi a week and I’ve cut that out 🤔

Feckmesideways · 08/07/2020 10:37

Well done on the weight loss! @MirandaWest I’d love to lose weight off my boobs, I’m currently spilling out of my 34FF bras, they definitely weigh over a stone on their own!

wrensandrobins · 08/07/2020 10:43

@7996cath

This is exactly what happened to me! I gave up sugar cold turkey 9 weeks ago and around weeks 3-4 my anxiety peaked I had raging headaches and felt awful! It passed and I feel fine, reintroducing sugar this week but in small controlled portions, and will try not to let it creep up! I suffered with anxiety periodically before I gave up sugar and it has definitely got better since I lowered by sugar intake.

7996cath · 08/07/2020 11:05

@wrensandrobins well done you! And that’s reassuring to hear. I’ve always felt there must be a link between anxiety and sugar consumption and the reality is, I was grazing on sugary snacks and drinks all day.

I haven’t really missed them because I’m quite enjoying the food on this new diet but I’ve felt tired, thirsty and had a racing heart. Will plough on! ✊🏻

hopeidontforgetthisusername · 08/07/2020 19:06

Hi all just 1lb off for me this week so now 12 stone 1, so desperate to get into the 11 stone range.

Well done to everyone with their weight loss.

wrensandrobins · 08/07/2020 19:42

@7996cath yeah keep going, once you get past it, it's so much easier :)

@hopeidontforgetthisusername sooooo close! Well done for the loss though, a pound is good :)

hopeidontforgetthisusername · 09/07/2020 07:28

thanks @wrensandrobins I am going to have to redouble my efforts for next week :)
