@Teaismynewfriend yes it is hard work losing weight. This time last week I was so unmotivated and didn't think I would be able to even start dieting. Everyone on this thread is in the same fat boat! I read something the other day which made sense, being over weight is hard, losing weight is hard, choose your hard.

LemonPeonies · 03/07/2020 09:25

Morning! Well done on your weight losses so far! Great results already Smile. I'm waiting for my scales from Amazon so will weigh on Sunday, I don't have a starting weight though. My post pregnancy 12-14 swimming costume fits though so I'm pleased about that. Some great idea on here too, will try some of the meals they sound lush. I've been really good at keeping to 1200 calories a day, usually less - surprisingly not left hungry. I'm not counting breastfeeding on the app as it would give me extra calories and I've done a few workouts to YouTube videos too. I did Zumba last night but had to stop halfway through I'm so unfit Blush.

isthatthesummerover · 03/07/2020 10:06

@Teaismynewfriend I agree with @sevendevils - threads like this and like minded people play a huge part in motivation but it comes down to ... do I want to look and feel better , improve my health physically and mentally or do I want to stuff my face with crap ? As I've got older it's got harder but I've had a really good week , made some new virtual friends and my face looks thinner ... that's better than a pack of biscuits anyway Smile

MirandaWest · 03/07/2020 10:32

I really want to eat a crunchie.

I won’t though Smile

sevendevils · 03/07/2020 10:40

@MirandaWest I wouldn't be able to eat one chrunchie, I'd scoff a five pack.

MirandaWest · 03/07/2020 10:43

Me too tbh.

Luckily I work from home in a converted garage so unless I go to the house I have no access to anything.

And not sure whether there are any crunchies anyway...

Feckmesideways · 03/07/2020 11:02

Every time you crave something sweet like sweets or chocolate try eating an apple, it has helped me with my sugar cravings.

MirandaWest · 03/07/2020 11:20

I went to the house and got a hard boiled egg instead Grin

LemonPeonies · 03/07/2020 11:46

Yeah I have fruit or yogurt now if I'm craving cake or chocolate etc. I love crunchies! And kinder Bueno and galaxy caramel.....

Feckmesideways · 03/07/2020 11:57

Kinder bueno are my all time fave! Or a peanut butter chunky kitkat! Great with a cup of coffee or tea. I’m trying to resist all biscuits now, because once I get a taste for it, I’ll find it hard to stop.

LemonPeonies · 03/07/2020 12:07

@Feckmesideways I'm the same! I physically can't eat just one or two biscuits, I eat at least half the pack Grin. I'm surprised how restrained I am atm actually as I have a lot of chocolate in the cupboard but haven't touched it. I've booked a meal out for me and my OH Sunday afternoon though and I will treat myself then.

littleninja · 03/07/2020 13:30

Wow! Amazing results from those who have weighed in already - well done! Just goes to show it works if you stick at it.

I almost caved last night, was really craving chocolate and that little voice inside my head kept telling me that I've done so well eating healthily so far this week that I deserved a treat. I ignored it. Drank more water and read to take my mind of it.

Feeling more focussed again today but I know the weekend will be tough as I normally like a couple of 🍷 and 🍫. I'm in a tug of war with the voice in my head between 'if I eat sweet things I'll start down the slippery slope so best not to go there' and 'I don't want to deprive myself, a little of what you fancy is good' so I may need some more motivation over the next few days. Meant to be going to a barbecue in a friends garden tomorrow but the weather forecast isn't looking great. I'm kind of hoping it gets cancelled...

sevendevils · 03/07/2020 14:04

@littleninja well done not eating chocolate last night. I find the evenings really hard. The old me would eat chocolate and watch tv until bed time.

Feckmesideways · 03/07/2020 14:43

I find brushing my teeth after dinner stops me from snacking in the evenings, and I just stick to drinking lots of water.

LemonPeonies · 03/07/2020 14:57

Ok my scales arrived earlier than expected and couldn't resist (wish I hadn't though )! I am 12 stone 9!! I don't look as massive as I thought that weight on me would be TBH but the scales don't lie. I think realistically I will have to be happy to get down to 9.5 and anything more will be a bonus Sad. Baby weight and lockdown aren't a good mix.

LemonPeonies · 03/07/2020 14:59

Good idea @Feckmesideways will brush my teeth after dinner to stop myself snacking.

MirandaWest · 03/07/2020 15:03

@LemonPeonies I am very much the same except my babies are now 16 and 14 Blush
Although a lot of my weight has gone on in the past year or so.
Am going to give myself small treats when I get to 12 stone. And 11 stone. And 10 stone

LemonPeonies · 03/07/2020 15:13

@MirandaWest yes a treat every now and then as an incentive is much better than depriving yourself completely I find. Since I hit 30 it's so much more difficult to shift too. Ah well must stay positive! Onwards and upwards (well downwards hopefully) Grin

MirandaWest · 03/07/2020 15:26

I am not far off what I weighed when 9 months pregnant. Except my tummy isn't quite as big (feels not far off it sometimes though).

isthatthesummerover · 03/07/2020 15:49

I have my first challenge Confused just collected granddaughter aged 4 and she's got sweets and crisps
Wants sausages for dinner and toast before bed Grin

MirandaWest · 03/07/2020 15:58

Was just sorting some things in my handbag and found some mint imperials.

I stepped away,

And my Sainsburys weekly offers came up and about 4 of the items were sweets Blush

Have to go out now and will not buy sweets :)

madwoman1ntheattic · 03/07/2020 16:00

I’m weighing tomorrow, namechanged sorry. She of the potato mashing dh. Grin
Didn’t exercise yesterday and was waylaid by a carry out and a mini magnum last night, so I need another day to salvage...
Good job those who weighed in today!

DulciUke · 03/07/2020 16:03

I'm the same as I was earlier in the week--up one pound up from my Monday weigh-in. Hopefully, results will be better next Monday (my usual weigh-in) or next Friday.

GimmeAy · 03/07/2020 16:21

Can I join please? I'm 161cm or 5' 3.5". I've had my wake-up call yesterday on a bus, as I was wearing a light jacket which didn't go round my distended stomach and a man on the bus stood up to ask me if I wanted to sit down - presuming he thought I was pregnant. I weigh in quite light, but I want to lose 4 kilos - aiming for 0.1kilos per day for 40 days.

sevendevils · 03/07/2020 16:32
