Welcome @MrsRLH75 and @BigMumma18!

Weigh-in day!

Starting weight: 12st 2lbs
Week 1: 11st 12lbs
Week 2: 11st 11lbs
Week 3: 11st 10lbs

Okay, so not losing weight fast on this plan but losing weight gradually so I'm happy! Next week I should see a half-stone loss in total. If I can keep up the same rate, I'll be a stone and a half lighter when everyone at work sees me again in September! Then I'll be roughly halfway to my goal. I've just got to hold on to that thought!!

I hope everyone else sees a loss or maintain this week!

BigMumma18 · 29/06/2020 08:20

Hey! Well done, you are doing so well, a loss is always good! 🙂 I am being so strict not to weigh myself until a week is up, my first weighing will be on Thursday! Really hope to have lost as this us the beginning of a very long journey for me! I am having a meal replacement bar for breakfast, 100cal or less snack mid morning, shake for lunch, another snack when hungry in the afternoon and a 600cal or less meal in the evening, then maybe a snack after if I feel like it. I'm also 'trying' to drink 2 litres of water a day, this is my downfall. I have stuck to the eating perfectly but struggled with the water. I'm actually finding it quite easy and not feeling hungry although I did for the first time last night. I plated quite a big plate of food, probably totalling 800cals and could only manage half so I guess my stomach must be shrinking!!

LlamaofDrama · 29/06/2020 09:31

Well done @SallyLovesCheese! I'd be happy to see a loss this morning, but I know it's a few days off (and yesterday's cake won't have helped).

Run this morning has been run, and first shake and 2 glasses of water drunk. Guess where I'll be spending the morning Grin

Good luck to the new starters! My experience of this is that it works if you put the effort in. All it does really is make calorie counting easier, there's no magic to it. But making it easier can be all it takes, and and it is for me.

BryonyG · 29/06/2020 09:51

Hi all! Well done on your loss @SallyLovesCheese Smile

I've made the decision not to weigh in this week, I went really off-track last week and don't want to depress myself by seeing the damage! So back to it today and feeling determined to have a good week.

BigMumma18 · 29/06/2020 10:04

Thank you @LlamaofDrama, I know it's definitely taught me a lot about how much I should be eating and shocked at how much I ate before without thinking about it!

Hi @BryonyG, keep up the determination and hope you have a good week!

BryonyG · 29/06/2020 11:10

Thanks @BigMumma18, good luck for your weigh in on Thursday! The plan definitely works when you stick to it Smile

BigMumma18 · 29/06/2020 11:25

Thank you! @BryonyG, I will let you all know how it goes, I am positive then as been really enthusiastic and sticking to it properly, so fingers crossed. I can also see me sticking at this for a long time although I'm sure there will be bad days along the way as we are only human, good luck all!

MellieNelba · 29/06/2020 13:11

I will weigh myself in the morning. I think it has leaped me with portion control - before I did Slimming World and ate a lot of free food - now I see the calories in them I am not surprised my weight loss was slow - my fault really as I just piled it on the plate. Now I am in more control and look at all the hidden calories. I lost 2lb on week 1 - hoping for the same tomorrow.
My ‘tip’ is I love Costa frappacinnos - so I have the Slimfast cafe au lait In the freezer in the morning by dinner it’s really slushy and takes ages to drink.
I am tending to rely on ready meals for tea as they have the calories on the packet but when I get a bit more organised - I will cook again. Will let you tomorrow how I have got on.

MellieNelba · 29/06/2020 13:11

Not leaped.....helped

FatBeGone · 29/06/2020 14:42

hmmm i like Strawberry and Banana

I accidentally ordered 2 banana, and am running low on Strawberry, i think chocolate & banana will work, and the other flavour i have is caramel, caramel & banana? will that work?

I had some biltong, (yum) and water and coffee, and a shake, and an apple... i'm roughly 1lb a week down, which being that i am eating normally in the evening, i think thats ok - and i had a big 'drinky week' last week as was off work

welcome new people, more the merrier - any tips please share

my main one is almond milk, not cows milk!

Hi, everyone first day of slim fast for me today. I tried the vanilla shake today and o quite enjoyed it. I added ice as suggested and have also brought almond milk. How do peoples days on slim fast look ie are you having your meal for lunch or dinner?
Also any filling 600 calories meal ideas

BigMumma18 · 29/06/2020 22:48

Hi @FatBeGone Caramel and banana sounds good! 1lbs a week down is still good Smile. I haven't tried almond milk yet but will definitely give it a try!

Hi @Wanderlustnearorfar I've not tried the vanilla one yet but next on my list, I have a bar meal replacement for breakfast, 100cal or under snack mid morning, shake for lunch, another snack mid afternoon then a 600cal meal later, I had a jacket potato with tuna and a little grated cheese with salad tonight, was full after didn't need my 3rd snack today!

BigMumma18 · 29/06/2020 22:51

Hi @MellieNelba the caffe latte one is definitely my favourite shake so far!

imnottoofussed · 30/06/2020 08:49

Keep up the good work everyone. I'm still sticking to it and have at least a 1lb loss this week, I'm already showing that on the scales so hopefully don't go back up by proper weigh day on Friday.

I've just ordered more strawberry powder from amazon and the cookies and cream ready done shakes which I enjoyed last time. I might give the caramel powder a go and also hadn't thought to do one scoop of one flavour and one another. I've not tried any meal replacement bars yet as I'm not sure if I'd feel satisfied.

goingtokickthisweight · 30/06/2020 09:05

Hi everyone I would like to join if ok? I'm not doing sf but am doing a diet shake diet which is the same rules as slimfast.
My weigh in day is a Sunday and would like some support if ok Smile

LlamaofDrama · 30/06/2020 10:24

Hi @Wanderlustnearorfar! I start with water in the morning, and hold off on breakfast (shake) as long as I possibly can. That's usually between 9 and 10 so not very late! If I can I then go through to lunch at about 1 without a snack but if not I have one about 11. Today is definitely a snack day Grin lunch is either a shake or a calorie counted meal at between 200 and 250 kcal, at the moment I like a thin bagel toasted, spread with very low fat cream cheese with a smidge of sweet chilli sauce and a big salad. Then a snack in the afternoon, two if I didn't have one in the morning, that's quite often Greek yogurt, 100kcal of it, and dinner about 6. I'm vegetarian, and I eat a lot of curries and stews made with beans and pulses and vegetables.

Weekends are a bit different but this works well for me often enough for it to work!

I'd really like to try mixing it right up, having the 600kcal meal in the morning, and then the shakes afterwards but I've got a DH and DC and it wouldn't be compatible with family life. So there's compromise going on. DD is 10 and very aware of body shape and very keen to be skinny... I want her developing healthy eating habits, not disordered ones, so I need to try and model them. She doesn't really get the difference between the needs of her body which is growing and developing, and mine which is peri menopausal and seems to be prepping for a nuclear winter.

BigMumma18 · 30/06/2020 14:29

Hi @imnottoofussed Thank you and well done to you! I've got the banana powder to try next as I bought the starter pack for 19.99 everything you need ready made for 7 days but it all runs out tommorow. That's the only reason I've tried the bars, they work great for me as breakfast and fill me up just as much as a shake and you feel more like you've eaten as your chewing it and they are big bars, it's like eating 2 or 3 normal sized cereal bars, then I'm only having one shake a day, I also got the caffe latte already made ones as only about £6 for 6 on offer in Argos!

BigMumma18 · 30/06/2020 14:31

Hi @goingtokickthisweight and good luck for Sunday!

FatBeGone · 30/06/2020 15:08

BigMumma18 · 30/06/2020 18:27

@goingtokickthisweight is that enough for the day calorie wise? Tea looks yummy by the way! Smile I'm on 1,044 today and thought that was low but them I'm really overweight

goingtokickthisweight · 30/06/2020 19:09

@bigmumma18 no i dont think it is enough to be hones but i am really overweight aswell.
i've had a challenging day today so had baths showers etc done bags up etc for tomorrow and just sat down.
so decided to treat myself to this which is 281kcal, so brings my total to 934kcal for the day.
not the healthiest but feel i need it today.
so glad youve had a good day aswell.

BigMumma18 · 30/06/2020 19:21

@goingtokickthisweight aww bless you, I'm hoping to lose at least 5 stones so I've got a long journey ahead, it's my first weigh in on Thursday morning so hoping my first week has been good. Sounds like you deserve that after today, it looks yummy too, enjoy it! X

SallyLovesCheese · 30/06/2020 19:30

Cookies and cream shakes?! I need some!!

I like my new vanilla/caffe latte powder combo, works well.

@LlamaofDrama - I mix it up a bit too. The other day I used my 600kcal for a sandwich, crisps and fruit at lunch then had a dinner bar. Really made a difference to change life a bit.

I regularly have a SF porridge and a homemade skimmed milk latte for breakfast as my approx. 200kcal rather than a shake. But that's because my little one thinks 5am is an acceptable time to start the day, so I need the caffeine!! I really like the porridge. I put blueberries and strawberries in it, really bulks it out and taste better too!

I had curry last night (although much less than I would have previously) and a breakfast pastry today but have done well the rest of the time so hoping being a bit more relaxed like that still works. I do aim to eat the full 1,200kcal a day, sometimes even a little over, as I don't want my body going into survival mode!

BigMumma18 · 30/06/2020 19:59

@SallyLovesCheese I so need to try the cookies and cream shakes too, the care latte with vanilla sounds really nice!

I had a small lunch today so had my shake and a piece of toast this evening and really full still.

I feel I could easily do less calories some days but eat as I'm worried about my body going into survival mode too, I've heard it can be so tough to lose anything once that happens!
