Congratulations @Posypetal! That's great news Smile
I weighed in today and I've lost 3 and a bit pounds. Very happy with that as it takes my total loss to just over a stone Smile. That's half way which is great.

Octopus37 · 10/06/2020 08:49

Congratulations Posypetal, thats lovely news. Iggle, that's amazing just over a stone. HoneyBadger, pesky hormones, hope you are feeling better today. My scales are now packed so I cannot weigh myself today, aiming for damage limitation over the next few days. Will be back when I've sorted out my mobile hotspot

Hangoverstruggles · 10/06/2020 08:59

Congratulations @Posypetal!

Well done @Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket that's an amazing milestone! Well deserved.

Good luck @Octopus37 moving boxes is great exercise so I'm sure you'll be fine.

I'm maintaining10st5 this morning, which is my new low. I only have 3lb to go to get to my goal of 1 stone loss and I think it's going to be TOUGH!

We're having fish & chips tonight so going to fast until lunch and have a 300 cal lunch, no snacks. How many cals do you estimate for a takeaway fish & chip portion??

HoneysuckIejasmine · 10/06/2020 09:02

Great loss Igglepiggle well done!

Good luck with the house move Octopus

Not sure on dinner tonight, will see what I can be bothered with!

B: ham omelette
L: beef and veg soup, houmous and cucumber, crisps
D: ? Maybe falafel? Will have a think.

everycowandagain · 10/06/2020 09:15

Morning all. As evidence of AF hormonal related fluctuation....I am down 1.5lbs since Monday morning! Definitely mostly bloat that's gone.

I had my first (outdoor, distanced) in person PT session for months this morning, which was great. Actually I think I mostly enjoyed leaving the house and seeing another person!!

Saving some of my daily 1500 calories for virtual drinks later, i am going to cut up watermelon that's been lurking on the worktop. Hopefully it's still edible.

Have a good day everyone!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 10/06/2020 09:39

Mexican lasagne for dinner, it's in the freezer and I need to clear space for the shop coming tonight. Will have it with some salad.

(I don't remember where the recipe is from but it's sweet potato sheets with things like sweetcorn, pinto beans and passata in it, according to the mfp recipe I created when I made it!)

Well done on the PT session, everycow. I did a run (at home on the spot, so not as strenuous as an outdoor run but still good for getting the heart rate up) last night and feel ok this morning, just a little swollen in my hands so have taken my rings off. So hopefully I can actually achieve something this month.

Actually, my rings is something that was unforseen about weight loss. I knew they'd be too big, but I've gone from an R to an L. Unfortunately that's just too big a difference for my engagement ring and it can't be resized as the setting will curve too much and the stones will fall out. At the moment I've just popped it somewhere safe and bought a £40 sterling silver replacement, and I wear my wedding band on my middle finger - still too big but doesn't fall off. I can get that resized but haven't done so yet. I'm not sure what to do, I think I might need to retrieve the stones from my engagement ring and have it remade, but £££££. Dunno what to do. Keep it as it is as a memento of what I've done? Pay all the money to remake it? Any thoughts?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 10/06/2020 10:20

@Hangoverstruggles when I do a search on MFP I choose a "Fish and chips daily catch" which comes in at 838. Just cos I don't want to fool myself in underestimating....No idea of the real truth though!

Morning all!

Congratulations @posy!

Well done @iggle that's great!

@honeysuckle can you wear them as a necklace?

@octopus good luck tomorrow!

Today's menu

B - 1 slice french toast, 1tbsp yog, berries, 1tsp maple syrup
L - 1 slice toast, beans
D - spicy salmon, rice veg

DP birthday weekend coming up, have been super strict today and yesterday, af also due in a few days, will see what happens! Hoping to do some damage limitation and maintain. Have kept up the exercise

Good luck today everyone

MonsteraCheeseplant · 10/06/2020 11:22

Oh and @Hangoverstruggles, if you Google it 840 calories comes up in an article by the Times.

Sorry guys I'm behind on the thread! We got busy!

OP posts:
Hangoverstruggles · 10/06/2020 11:53

Thanks @MonsteraCheeseplant I'll go with 840!

Absolutely starving now but trying to hold out until lunch to keep within my calories 🙈

Can't wait for chippy tea though!

SuperPixie247 · 10/06/2020 12:53

Thanks for your input everyone. I ended up making my own cocktails last night taking my calorie total up to around 1500+!

I felt too rough to eat breakfast today as a pay off though 😂

Congratulations @Posypetal

Mmm chippy tea! Very jealous!

TheHoneyBadger · 10/06/2020 15:28

Thanks and well done to everyone.

No sign of af yet. Scales still being mean but no meaner than yesterday. Did my antibody test this morning and dealt with stressful emails to and fro with work. Currently dyeing my hair again with fingers crossed this will even out the yellow roots on white hair pickle I’d gotten myself into.

I’m in damage limitation mode which is have as long a fasted gap as I can manage and try to direct any need to overeat towards healthy food as much as possible.

Tried halo top salted caramel yesterday and wasn’t that impressed thankfully. Ate just over a third of a pot and have left the rest for ds. I made myself a way bigger than usual portion of fried rice with crab sticks and egg which was def pms carb craving.

Have to hope post af sees easy losses like it did last month.

TheHoundsofLove · 10/06/2020 18:13

Fingers crossed Honey .
Congratulations Posy !
Good luck with your move Octopus - hope it's all goes well.
And I hope that everyone else is hanging in there.
I feel much more positive this week and the calorie counting is not as bad as I was anticipating. I'm aiming for 1500 per day and finding that pretty easy to stick to. I suppose the main upside is that it's making me plan and think about what I'm eating much more.
Today I've had:
L - Vegetable gyozas with peanut sauce
D - Cheese and spinach macaroni
S - Kase bretzzel and 2 chocolate biscuits
Onwards and downwards, comrades!

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 10/06/2020 19:34

Food today
B. Granola bar coffee 300
L. Small portion fish curry & lemon rice. Oppo ice cream 570
D. 2 peri peri chicken thighs, half a portion of peri peri chips, coleslaw 600
S. Apple, slice of melon 100
Total 1570
I've only done 5000 steps today but I'll try to make it up to 10000 with a walk later

TheHoneyBadger · 11/06/2020 08:34

Glad you’re feeling positive hounds. It def makes a difference.

The scales claim I’ve put on 5lbs since yesterday. I ate Chinese food and kept waking up and guzzling water all night so I have to believe it’s that.

I’m obviously struggling this week. Combo of pms, work stress and the crappy grey weather I think. Sorry for all the gloom. Keep checking in so I don’t just give up. Fingers crossed it’ll all be brighter after af.

Good luck octopus 🐙

Hangoverstruggles · 11/06/2020 09:59

Morning all!

Keep going Honey, small steps forward.

I managed to keep roughy on target to allow for my fish & chips but I was starving by the time it arrived!

Yesterday I ate

B nothing, eating window 12-8
L weetabix with berries, 2 coffees (320)
D fish, chips and curry sauce (820)
S mini Green & Blacks and 2 celebrations (160)

Total 1300

Starving this morning but going to push through until midday before I eat. Not sure what I'll eat yet but something satisfying!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 11/06/2020 10:10

Honey that'll definitely be mostly water retention from the salty food. Don't panic. Was it nice? I've not had Chinese food in years, my son is allergic to soya. I miss it so much.

B: the flakes from my son's bowl of fruit and fibre which he always aggressively "shares" with me whether I want to or not. He just eats the "fruit" bit. Grin
L: soup (I fancy mulligatawny today) and houmous with crudités
D: not sure. Will think

everycowandagain · 11/06/2020 10:21

Stick with it @thehoneybadger Fluctuations are so normal. I weigh every day and the swings from day to day can be quite staggering.

I have never particularly enjoyed Halotop. I buy the Little Moons mochi balls which are a delicious sweet treat but only small.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 11/06/2020 10:23

Yeah I'm not a halo top fan either. I'd much rather just have a smaller portion of real ice cream.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/06/2020 11:17

I love Chinese food but have had bowel surgery and resulting complications and pain and ‘stuff’ this morning would suggest I can’t eat it anymore either honeysuckle Wink probably for the best given 5 bloody lbs

I’m hanging in there and holding onto the memory that virtually all of May’s weight loss happened in the 10 ish days after af.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/06/2020 11:20

Posted too soon

Hangover I hope you enjoyed the fish and chips. Don’t know if it’s the same for you but I find I’m more likely to feel hungry on a fast if I ate tasty fatty carbs the night before

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 11/06/2020 11:26

Morning all,
I'm feeling gloomy today too. I'm so fucking sick of the lockdown and the constant pressure of trying to look after the kids and work I could cry.
However, onwards!
@TheHoneyBadger that does sound like water retention from the salt.
@honeysuckle & @everycowandagain
Little moons mochi are a good shout. I like halo top and all the rest of those ice-creams but I agree they aren't the real thing. I like that they are high in protein as it feels like a filling desert. Have you ever tried making banana ice-cream? Chop up over ripe bananas freeze and then blend it's really nice, has the texture of soft serve.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 11/06/2020 11:28

I just want to say as well, thanks all for being here and chatting. I'm finding this thread really supportive and helpful when otherwise things are hard.

EndlessUserName · 11/06/2020 13:19

Hope you feel a bit better soon @Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket can you take some time to have a bit of a rest, or do something nice for yourself, or a nice walk? Anything really. Or if you're struggling to find time, I sometimes just watch a film with the kids and we have a treat. Hope you feel better soon, I totally get you and have had many days like that since lockdown x

MonsteraCheeseplant · 11/06/2020 15:10

I feel your fed-upness Iggle and I am very much with you.

I'm plodding on. Having quite a lot of not so healthy snacks but keeping the calorie count within target. I'm feeling bored write a lot and want to head to the kitchen to root around for something which is annoying. Air popped popcorn is ok for when you just need to munch on something out of boredom. Still wish I had a different habit.

My lovely in laws have bought us a 3 course Michelin star restaurant meal to be delivered tomorrow. At least the portion sizes won't be but, they never are! 😆 Extremely kind of them, it'll be full of butter, oil and cream though I guarantee 😒
