Welcome to all the new ones. Posypetal that is fantastic weight loss, I weigh every day too, it makes me feel more in control tbh. Sounds like you have a good day Iggle. 9st2.5 this morning, so so day yesterday. I'll probably be offline towards the end of the week cause of the move. Have a good day all.

Posypetal · 08/06/2020 08:03

Thanks octopus Smile

I weighed myself this morning and I’m 14 stone 13! So lost a pound over the weekend.

I’m so happy to be back in the 14s, it’s been over three years since I last was.

Today I’m focusing on getting my 10k steps and eating healthily. I don’t calorie count as it makes me too obsessive and I start looking for ways to cheat and get as many in there as possible!

So today’s plan-

B: two eggs, one piece of rye toast.

Grapefruit and coffee

L: chicken salad with dressing

Apple and grapes

D:fish curry and rice

everycowandagain · 08/06/2020 09:25

Morning all. I am the same as last week at 136lbs, slightly frustrating because I though I had a reasonable week but AF is here so that might be part of it plus we had a couple of salty takeaways.

This week's plan is to keep aiming for 1500 calories a day, get the workouts in and focus on consistency.

Have a good day all!

EndlessUserName · 08/06/2020 10:09

Morning everyone!

@everycowandagain that'll definitely be it! My AF next week so may delay weigh in (but will probably be too curious!)

Well done! @Posypetal that's great! Lovely sounding menu today too

I'm so pleased, I've lost another lb and another cm from me waist! Now 74cm and 9st 8.8 it was so nice to see that 8 on the scales!

Good luck this week everyone!

Btw, re: motivation. I remembered my tiny habits book this morning, where he says how unreliable motivation is. Better to make things easier to do and a prompt to do them. So hopefully my detailed meal planning displayed on the fridge will do the trick :)

Today's menu
B - cornflakes, banana
L - sweet potato fries, roasted leek and green beans
D - chilli made with lots of veg
S - a chocolate or two

Givemestrengthorgin · 08/06/2020 14:08

I weighed myself today and down to 13st11 so a lb off. Just spearmint tea at breakfast as work crazy busy, beans on brown toast for lunch and planning grilled gammon steak for dinner with 2 fried eggs, pineapple and peas. I'm following a running plan and have a 40minute run scheduled for today so will have a coffee and a banana before that. Plus a little bit of chocolate after dinner so think the whole day will be about 1500 cals.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/06/2020 14:53

I want to eat because I'm bored. Not even hungry 😩🐽
I have work to do, just don't wanna. Gah.

TheHoneyBadger · 08/06/2020 15:23

oh my goodness! Jordan Syatt says I need to 130g of protein. I ate a whole can of mackerel to break my fast and it was only just under 40g. 3 eggs is less than 20g, I've just eaten them too. I have no idea how I would manage to eat 130g a day everyday!

I like him - glad I finally got round to watching.

Not going near the scales today after a less than careful weekend. Will weigh in tomorrow and try to remember my period is just round the corner so it may not be pretty.

TheHoneyBadger · 08/06/2020 15:26

Could you eat 70g of protein for me please monster?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/06/2020 15:38

@TheHoneyBadger 😂 I haven't got the stomach for 10 eggs right now. How on earth? How about some yoghurt? God knows how much you'd need to eat though. My husband has started having protein shakes alongside his cereal in the morning to fill him up, it does seem to help.

TheHoundsofLove · 08/06/2020 15:42

Glad that everyone seems to be having a good start to the week. Welcome to all newcomers!
stop I totally agree about motivation - it ebbs and flows too much to be reliable on its own.
Honey I'm really sceptical about the average person needing that much protein - it seems to be quite a contentious issue amongst those in the fitness industry and I've heard/read such differing opinions. Like with everything, I think you should just eat the amount that satisfies you and feels 'right'.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/06/2020 15:47

I can't imagine getting into macros, that just seems like another level of detail and effort!

OP posts:
TheHoundsofLove · 08/06/2020 15:52

Me neither Monstera !
But, I have decided to have a few weeks of calorie counting to go alongside 16:8. I've only started today, but so far so good. I do find it tedious, but MFP seems to have improved quite a bit since I last tried to use it - I like the menu/recipe creator and the barcode scanning thing is awesome!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/06/2020 15:57

God yeah re: the MFP recipe thing and barcode scanner, makes it really easy. Best of luck!

Hi all, I'd like to jump on it that's ok. I'm flagging a bit and need some momentum.

So. I started at 19,4 back in August 2016 ish. I'm 5'6". Lost a stone, got pregnant again, and started again February 2018 at 18,0. Using MFP and some support on MN I got down to 12,4 by about May 2019.

Summer 2019 I had a huge flare up of my autoimmune disease, was ill right up until the end of 2019. 2020 has been a balancing act of keeping things in control and providing my body a suitable amount of energy to stay healthy.

And so I find myself at 14,4 as of this morning. It was 14,8 last week so I'm finally stepping in the right direction again.

I eat 1200 a day. I tried a week of strictly 1500 (as I was so tired) and I gained 2lb. Hmm I really can't seem to get away with more than 1200 and still see a loss.

I'm gutted that I'm 2 stone over my low weight, but have to also celebrate that I'm 5 stone under my high weight.

I do run and walk as much as possible. Given my autoimmune disorder is like arthritis that can be a real challenge. I do not distant challenges. So far this year I've done 100 miles for Jan-April, but only managed 85 in May thanks to a bout of severe mastitis. I've signed up for June but yet to do anything as I'm only just getting my energy back having finished antibiotics a few days ago.

So my hope is that I can chunk down in to small steps. 2 stone to get back to low weight, which I was very happy with. 3 stone and 2 lbs to reach a BMI healthy weight. I'm not convinced it's realistic for me - I have a significant amount of flabby skin that isn't going anywhere of course so I'll always be heavier than I look. (For example, I was a size 10 at 12,4)

So yes, if you can help me on towards my goal, that'd be great!

I'm a SAHM to preschoolers who spends far too much time on her phone so I'll be around a lot, sorry Wink

HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/06/2020 16:07

Food today...
B: sausage and egg omlette with ketchup
L: lamb hotpot soup, houmous and celery, caramel rice cake
D: mushroom and red wine risotto with salad

SuperPixie247 · 08/06/2020 16:23

Some of your menus sound delish! Mushroom and red wine risotto? Amazing 😍. I will have to look for a recipe there.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/06/2020 16:24

Wow you've done some really amazing work there @Honeysucklejasmine, big respect! Welcome. Also, your food today sounds bloody delicious.

Welcome Honeysuckle ! You sound like you’re doing really well, especially considering the current ‘situation’ and the fact you have health issues to contend with. Why don’t you break it into half stone targets - might seem more manageable?

HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/06/2020 16:42

cookingonabootstrap.com/2019/03/17/red-wine-mushroom-risotto-recipe/ here it is. I'm adding a few rashers of bacon I have lurking.

Thanks for the welcome. Monstera it sounds more fancy than it is - the soup is from a tin (Asda) and the sausages are deli slices that I chopped up and fried off.

Hounds yes I think half stone might be the way to go. So, 13,11 here I come.

RaraRachael · 08/06/2020 17:41

Having a much better day today. Had a 4km walk as weather was unexpectedly nice.
B - Cereal and fruit juice
L - Carrot and butter bean soup, fresh pineapple
D - Lasagne

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 08/06/2020 21:03

Welcome new guys! And well done everyone on your losses. Hope your move goes well @Octopus37
I've done sort of ok today
B. Granola bar coffee (300)
L. 2 potato waffles, half a tin of beans, little grating of cheese (450)
D. Moussaka with lettuce (425)
S. Coffee, bit of cheese, apple. (100)
My son made some popcorn which I had a small bowl of and then saw how much bloody oil he'd used! That probably takes me up to 1500 for the day, irritatingly.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/06/2020 21:37

B: Yoghurt
L: Ham and pearl barley soup
D: Leek and Boursin chicken
S: Mini Reese's, Halo top, kinder bueno stick

Hangoverstruggles · 08/06/2020 21:38

Evening everyone,

Nice to see lots of posts today, sounds like everyone is feeling focused!

I'm feeling a bit flat. On balance it was an ok day but I sat at my desk for pretty much 11 hours so feeling tired, sluggish and achey!

Annoyed also that I undid a good day with pointless snacks right at the end.

B 40g oats soaked in milk with berries, 2 coffees (290)
L jacket potato, beans and salad, oat biscuit bar (380)
D pasta with homemade sauce (400)
S Tuk biscuits, 4 squares of milk choc, strawberries (260)

1350! I really want to keep at 1200 and finding its just small bits of mindless eating that takes me over! Trying to remember that the old me would have eaten the whole bar of chocolate!!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/06/2020 22:08

Hangover I'm also a "ruin a good day with pointless snacks" person. It's frustrating. I usually do it in the evening when the kids are in bed. So I try to do other stuff, usually go for a run or walk, or crafting to keep my hands busy. It's been hard lately as I've been unable to do much exercise.
