So today is day 1, I've just taken my before pictures had a little cry and weighed myself.

I've got 3.5 stone to lose and then some more that I'll assess when I get there.
Because I WILL get there!

Starting off with calorie counting, no choc/crisps and either a bike ride or c25k every evening after dc2 goes to sleep. And will tweak as necessary as I go.

I'm planning on posting here A LOT as dh is less than helpful and tbh is he's annoying me during lock down so I'll probably moan about him here too!

Feel free to join in, share tips, try stay sane and on track. Halo

I did couch to 5k which is ironically what got me diagnosed with the same heart condition as my mum had, I got half way through though before I got unwell, I went in the dark around my little street so no one really saw me, I also invested in a cheap treadmill to do it during the day when everyone was out.

I can't run anymore though so I'm doing some light skipping of an evening, I've got to the point where I simply don't give a toss what people think, my DM was only in her early 40s when she died, I'm 33. I have set myself the goal of every time I go to the cardiologist I want to be healthier.

I also have Elhers Danlos Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and have some positive markers for Lupus but the rheumatologist clinic got put on hold during lockdown so that's hanging in limbo. Being healthier overall has got to impact all that positively I'm sure.

I'm back to work properly today, I must be strong and avoid being piled with soft cheese and bread from one of my lovely families I care for.

Twilbury · 24/06/2020 08:34

@TitsalinaBumSquash That is a hell of a list, fingers crossed things get a bit more sorted for you soon.

Annoyingly I completed couch to 5k about 4 years ago and was running 5k 3 times a week. We then had a really hot couple of months and I got out of the habit !!
I'm off to work in a bit for a couple of hours and then will go for a walk.

RedScarf · 24/06/2020 09:34

I want to get a treadmill but dh didn't seem impressed when I mentioned it as last year I bought a exercise bike and a cross trainer (2nd hand) that sat unused till I sold them! ConfusedI'm planning on starting c25k tomorrow after putting my youngest to bed but might swap it to a bike ride depending on hot how it is!

Hi all, haven't checked in for a while, good to see some of us still trying! I lost all motivation last week and ended up with 5 days of no tracking cals and no exercise, it's really didn't do me any good, especially my mood, I can relate to you all when you talk about comfort eating.

Anyway as of this mornings weight I am down 10lb since starting which I'm happy with, but isn't it hard?

Treadmills can be handy, I've got a cheap second hand one and I stick something on the iPad to watch while I walk for 30-60 mins, otherwise a bit boring out walking alone I find.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 24/06/2020 15:39

What I've done (which isn't for everyone) is buy WW or the equivalent ready meals and have one at lunch and one at dinner and log it in my fitness pal app. This will be for the week along with 3ltrs of water and snacks of fruit, baby bells or hifi bars if I'm hungry. I don't tend to eat breakfast anyway and just have a coffee with semi skimmed milk, no sugar.

It's eliminates the risk of getting the logging thing wrong or grabbing a snack I hadn't planned on without logging it. I'll do this whilst I adjust to being back at work.

RedScarf · 25/06/2020 20:43

Well dd has buggered up my plan to go for a jog(attempt) as she won't go to sleep. Angry

RubySlippers77 · 27/06/2020 23:38

Did you manage to go jogging @RedScarf?

I may go tomorrow morning with DTS1. I'd love to go on my own but he's very keen, if not very helpful!

RubySlippers77 · 27/06/2020 23:41

I once did the same with SlimFast @TitsalinaBumSquash, it did help just to give me momentum with my weight loss plans!

RedScarf · 29/06/2020 06:24

No, She's not gone to sleep before 9pm for days! She's only 3 so can't come with me though I have tried to rope in the 10 year old-he said he'll only come if I get him v bucks on fortnite... who said kids were a good idea eh!

Hello all!

I am still here and sadly still fat .

I have however started (again) couch to 5 k today. It took me about a week from downloading it to actually getting of my ample arse and go and do it but I have now made a start.
It was not pretty, and I did it in the drizzle but one down and only another 26 to go!

How is everyone doing ? My new plan is to make soup and stick to the only eating between 11-7 or 12-8 and also drink gallons of water.

I need to keep busy, if I am busy then I am not bothered about food.

Toomanycats99 · 30/06/2020 15:05

Can I join this thread. I want to lose about 4st to start with. I have signed up to a personalised nutrition and exercise plan with a local personal trainer and it came this morning!

It's going to be hard......not only is it cutting out crap it's also minimal carbs for 2-3 weeks to give a kick start. I will really miss them!

Twilbury · 30/06/2020 16:01

@Toomanycats99 That sounds hardcore!

How are you feeling about it ?

Toomanycats99 · 30/06/2020 16:25

@Twilbury

Terrified. I'm late forties and I feel like it's now or never. My heath is not affected by my weight at the moment but I k ow that will change. Plus I want to feel less like a blob when I go out. I am not sure if I will be able to manage it or not!

I am hoping the fact that I should get some quick results means I will motivate myself to keep going through the hunger!

Twilbury · 30/06/2020 16:42

@Toomanycats99 I am a similar age to you and I just feel if I don't get a handle on it now then I never will.

Toomanycats99 · 30/06/2020 16:45

@Twilbury

Good luck! Completely there on the now or never

Twilbury · 30/06/2020 17:13

Thank you @Toomanycats99 and good luck to you too

Hi, I'm still here 👋🏻
I've lost 5lbs since the end of May. However I've had three days off for my birthday and darent weigh myself now SadI am determined to get back on track though and have prepped my lunch and tea for tomorrow already.

I'm really struggling with couch to 5k as DS refuses to join in and I have no childcare. I've done some HIIT at home and need to increase my exercise.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 01/07/2020 07:11

I'm here 👋🏻 it's AF week, started yesterday and have stayed the same on the scales today which is what I expected. I did have a bigger meal than usual yesterday but was still 200 cals under my allowance.

I had a No Bull 'steak' burger yesterday and it was delicious, I genuinely didn't taste any difference and usually I'm quite the sceptic when it comes to meat substitutes.

notevenamum1 · 01/07/2020 22:07

Hi everyone, can I please join? I’m a serial failure when it comes to diets. I want results fast...as do well...and it doesn’t work and I give up. This time I am taking it slow and trying to be more realistic.

I started 2.5 weeks ago. I am calorie counting on MFP. Aiming for 1500 cals a day but normally eating 1700–1800. Since starting I have also set myself a target of 10,000 steps a day which I have a managed but it has been some effort. I can’t believe that’s the minimum amount of activity required or a healthy heart? Who walks that much??

Anyway I am 5ft8 and I am focussing on losing my first stone before even thinking about the next 2. I have not yet weighed myself as I can be too results focussed and give up if I don’t see a loss. I need to keep going and be more active and mindful of what I eat regardless of what the scales say.

I need some moral support and like minded friends to keep me on track. Can we be in it together? Smile

Nogoodatnames · 02/07/2020 08:22

Hi @notevenamum1

I only just joined yesterday so we are both newbies!

My day 1 was better than expected - I felt hungry immediately after my lunch / dinner but that did subside.

Today was an exercise day so did my exercise plan and that's knackered me!

notevenamum1 · 02/07/2020 10:00

Well ladies I had to weigh myself in for week 3 slightly earlier this morning as I am away at the weekend to my in laws (not U.K.!) who are serial feeders. This is the first time we are seeing them in over 3 months so please pray for me Grin Anyway I am down 4lbs which I am absolutely delighted and shocked with! My aim was to lose 1lb a week but I’ll take anything extra.

RedScarf · 02/07/2020 14:29

Ive just been a teeny tiny bike ride and now my legs are like jelly! So unfit.

OP posts:
RubySlippers77 · 02/07/2020 23:17

Well done @notevenamum1! (And good luck with the in laws!!)

@RedScarf I keep seeing people zip past on bikes and I think oooh, that looks fun! Then I realise I don't have a bike because I'm utterly terrible at cycling Grin therefore your teeny tiny bike ride has still impressed me!

Glad to hear the No Bull burgers are tasty @TitsalinaBumSquash, I bought some a couple of weeks ago but haven't tried them yet. I'm hoping to have them with a nice salad at the weekend Smile

Toomanycats99 · 05/07/2020 10:18

Well I am 4 days in. I've lost 4.5 lbs! And actually I haven't been as starving as I thought. I thought I would be pining for carbs but so far I'm not.

Am pleased so far.

RedScarf · 08/07/2020 10:14

Just letting you know I'm name changing....will post in a sec with fancy new one..
