So today is day 1, I've just taken my before pictures had a little cry and weighed myself.

I've got 3.5 stone to lose and then some more that I'll assess when I get there.
Because I WILL get there!

Starting off with calorie counting, no choc/crisps and either a bike ride or c25k every evening after dc2 goes to sleep. And will tweak as necessary as I go.

I'm planning on posting here A LOT as dh is less than helpful and tbh is he's annoying me during lock down so I'll probably moan about him here too!

Feel free to join in, share tips, try stay sane and on track. Halo

@Bollocksitshappenedagain you're right about the unhealthy food feeling like a 'treat'! If I bought myself a chocolate brownie, for example, it would feel like I was treating myself - even though it would probably cost less than a lovely punnet of raspberries Hmm

The DC are doing longer hours at school this week, but are full of snot and sniffles, I just hope they're not sent home. I'm going to do a big supermarket shop and stock up on all things healthy just in case!!

BluePajamas · 14/09/2020 04:37

Shit I actually gained 0.4... I didn't even have choc most days how does that even work?!

Pile of poo.

RubySlippers77 · 14/09/2020 09:03

What a pain @BluePajamas!!

I have weighed myself (it was a painful moment, I had to screw up my courage to the sticking point) and am ready to buy lots of healthy food shortly. Sigh. I reckon I have at least a stone to lose to see the inside of those size 14s, hopefully I can restart C25K as well.

I can definitely be a bit slinkier for Christmas, right?! before I fall into a pile of mince pies and Baileys

BluePajamas · 14/09/2020 10:57

I've already bought and eaten mince pies GrinBlush

BluePajamas · 14/09/2020 11:05

Though it turned out I just needed a mega number 2, I've just weighed again after and actually lost half a lb! was also naked, is that taking it too far?!

Anyway it counts and I've updated mfp so it's law..

I think I'm going to try slimming world again... I don't really like it as it feels a bit like a cult and it's all consuming but it worked about 7 years ago and I feel like I've been "on a diet" for the last year and I've actually gone up a stone instead so I'm clearly not cut out for it!

notevenamum1 · 16/09/2020 10:06

So I’ve gained half a lb despite target to lose 1lbs. Was completely ok track bar one day when it was really hot and I didn’t go for a walk and I had an ice cream. God damn if! Never going to hit the 1 stone loss at this rate. Probs need to do some real exercise I.e. more than walking

RubySlippers77 · 16/09/2020 10:23

I did a HIIT workout this morning @notevenamum1. First time in a loooong while, it was a couple of hours ago and I am still beetroot colour Grin

I know losing weight is mostly about food - but for me and my lazy metabolism I do need to add in a bit of cardio to keep the scales moving downwards (upwards I can do no problem at all!).

Will you do SW online or go to a group @BluePajamas? Are the groups running again near you, actually?! About half our local WW ones have started again but they are all 'weigh and go', no talks at the moment. I may have told you this already but when I did SW a few years back the consultant was (a) completely unhelpful and (b) a 'larger' lady herself (by a good few stone!) which put me off. I did stay with the group but only because I had friends going at the same time and it was the only one we could all do, but I wouldn't rejoin and give her any more of my money now.

Toomanycats99 · 17/09/2020 06:55

@BluePajamas - mince pie time!

All the Xmas food coming - out - maybe I need to ration myself to one sort of treat a week. I like the icing mince pies but my children don't eat them so that means a box of 6 to myself!

I had a completely off plan Saturday with tonnes of carbs and fat so it's taken me until this morning to get back to where I was (well and another half pound!)

I also haven't been to exercise class as I wasn't feeling great. Am awaiting Covid results so hoping if they come through today I can go tonight!

BluePajamas · 19/09/2020 17:22

Put the chocolate down everyone! Grin

RubySlippers77 · 20/09/2020 22:18

It's AF week @BluePajamas so I am excused a bit of chocolate on the grounds that I feel generally rubbish Grin

Did you get your test results @Toomanycats99? Are you feeling any better?

Toomanycats99 · 21/09/2020 06:33

@RubySlippers77

Yes for test results and as expected were negative. My youngest DD was so glad to be able to get back to school.

Went to class Saturday for first time in a while so that felt good. They have made the evening ones glow stick light parties now so after purchasing a pack of glow sticks the youngest wants to come with me rather than moaning about it which is good.

notevenamum1 · 24/09/2020 10:14

Hi ladies. 2lbs off for me this week which finely takes me to just over a stone weight loss. They weren’t joking when they said weight loss is not linear as my graph is all over the place. The stone has taken 9 weeks.

Here are some stats:

Starting weight: 14st 2lbs
Starting bmi: 30 (obese)
Current weight: 13st 1.5lbs
Current bmi: 27.7 (overweight)

Total loss: 14.5lbs

Goal 1: 13st 2lbs - 1st loss Star
Goal 2: 12st 8lbs - 10kg loss
Goal 3: 12st 2lbs - 2 stone loss
Goal 4: 11st 11lbs - Healthy bmi
Goal 5: 11st 2lbs- 3 stone loss
Goal 6: 11st 0 - 20kg loss

Toomanycats99 · 25/09/2020 06:42

@notevenamum1

Congratulations!

RubySlippers77 · 25/09/2020 09:37

Well done @notevenamum1!

I'm feeling a bit down today and about to scoff a brownie... DS2 is such an absolute horror at the moment, all I seem to do is shout at him. He's just started school properly and isn't enjoying it, but we've had six weeks of him being loathsome over the summer holidays (as he knew his friends wouldn't be in his class) and now weeks of him still being horrible. I had to follow through on a threat to put toddler reins on him today as he keeps running off on the way to and from school - we have busy roads to cross, I can't let him keep doing it! He's up so bloody early - usually 6ish - and I'm just so tired and fed up after weeks of this (and indeed 5 years of dealing with them both). I really wanted DC but am yet to find much fun in having them Sad

Rant over... I will try to eat my brownie and cheer up a bit!!

notevenamum1 · 25/09/2020 11:29

Oh god that sounds so hard @RubySlippers77!!! You deserve all the brownies ...and coffee! Brew

I’ve not got kids..yet...I am not sure if it is for me as I love sleep and don’t know how I’d function without it BUT have also slept terribly for the past 2 weeks. No idea why. I feel pretty demented but have had no option but just to get on it. Maybe I should be a mum Grin is this what it feels like?

notevenamum1 · 25/09/2020 11:29

I am joking though...I can only imagine how hard it is. I am sure the lack of sleep is only half the battle.

Toomanycats99 · 26/09/2020 07:03

Well I have hit 2 stone loss. I guess next milestone is to get in the 70 something kilo range which is just over another 4kg to lose. Still another 2.3 stone to target but nearly halfway there!

BluePajamas · 27/09/2020 04:52

Well done on hitting milestones!

I've been a mess but think I'm coming through the other side.

There's a reason sleep deprivation was used as torture, it literally effects everything when you feel like shit. Dd is 4 and still doesn't sleep though the night, what pisses me off SO much more though is when dh says she sleeps ok now when actually he's just slept through it all. I literally seethe. I'm sleeping on the floor in her room most nights coz I end up getting more sleep that way!

RubySlippers77 · 27/09/2020 20:29

Ohhhh @BluePajamas I know that feeling... been exhausted this weekend, fell asleep at 8pm Friday Blush DTS1 has always been a poor sleeper, when they were younger him and DTS2 seemed to tag team to ensure that I only got 4 hours a night Angry - I think this is part of the reason I am fat and very short tempered nowadays!! The DTs sleep a bit better but I am absolutely full of fury if they aren't asleep by 8pm latest as it's a rare day that they're not awake by 6.30am...

Well done by the way @Toomanycats99!

BluePajamas · 28/09/2020 01:34

I'm diagonal across her cot bed tonight! She is waking every 30 mins or so and if I'm there she closes her eyes again but if I'm not she sits up and cries for me and I'm in and out all night...Good job she's cute!

I've printed off the SW book and plan to do a full week before having a wobble, told dh he's a feeder if he ever wants rude stuff again he will need to support me Grin

RubySlippers77 · 28/09/2020 09:20

I don't think people with DC who sleep well understand how soul-destroying it is to have a bad sleeper, @BluePajamas Sad we usually end up with at least one DC in bed with us as they just don't sleep well otherwise. And nothing we do makes them sleep a bit later - FIL is full of "why do you make them go to bed so early? Let them stay up late then they'll get up later!" - although when DS1 had to stay overnight with them once he soon found out that that didn't work Grin

DP keeps moaning that he needs to lose weight (he does) but then will drink so much that it cancels out any calorie reduction/ exercise he does... two bottles of wine, half a bottle of rum and a big bottle of coke over the weekend. Can't think why he's putting weight on Hmm mine is just cake!!

RubySlippers77 · 01/10/2020 09:09

How is your SW week going @BluePajamas? DTS1's sleep is... bad Sad he was exhausted last night after waking at 5.30am and still took an hour to go to sleep. Then he was up at 3.30am for an hour wiggling around... grrr. This morning he is of course exhausted again and had an enormous strop on the way to school - the littlest thing will set him off. And I am some way beyond exhausted - I'd go back to bed but have a Zoom call later for a few hours - I think I will be Confused trying to keep up!

So no progress here on the weight loss front I would do pretty much anything for a large sugary hot drink at the moment but I hope everyone else is doing ok! @Toomanycats99 @notevenamum1

Toomanycats99 · 01/10/2020 12:50

Thanks @RubySlippers77 sorry to hear about the sleep. My oldest was a 5.30 am riser for a long time but starting school seemed to reset her clock later so hope you get a break soon.

I have hit 3 months since I started and am now down 30lbs. Half of my (what I thought may be far too optimistic) target.

I must admit I gave up on the nutrition plan done by PT after about 4 weeks as I didn't find it particularly compatible with cooking family meals for my daughters. I am using the fast 800 receipe book and I find it great. Recipes while they involve cooking from complete scratch which I never used to do that much are simple and easy to make (now I have a herb and spice collection) and are stuff my dd can eat too.

I am also doing 16:8 most days. I am
Not stressing too much if I go off plan a bit as I figure it's better to give into the craving and get it out the way rather than spend 3 days obsessing on it and feeing deprived!

It's working fir me anyway and I can see how I can carry this on to maintain when I get to goal which I am hopeful about.

BluePajamas · 04/10/2020 07:48

Wow that's a great loss @Toomanycats99 well done!

My sw week didn't even start as dh turned his nose up at everything I suggested, I've bought meal replacement shakes and have decided to try 2 shakes and a evening meal..but be quite relaxed to start off with and have a normal dinner but minus the extra cheese/butter garlic bread that is normally piled on and go from there.

I don't want to jinx it but I bought dd a new bed and bedding and she's slept through 2 nights in a row... might be worth trying similar and see if it makes a difference.. not sure if it's a more comfortable mattress or a thicker/heavier duvet or a mix of the 2 but another week of this and I might feel human again!

BluePajamas · 04/10/2020 07:49

I've totally ruined it now though haven't I
