So today is day 1, I've just taken my before pictures had a little cry and weighed myself.

I've got 3.5 stone to lose and then some more that I'll assess when I get there.
Because I WILL get there!

Starting off with calorie counting, no choc/crisps and either a bike ride or c25k every evening after dc2 goes to sleep. And will tweak as necessary as I go.

I'm planning on posting here A LOT as dh is less than helpful and tbh is he's annoying me during lock down so I'll probably moan about him here too!

Feel free to join in, share tips, try stay sane and on track. Halo

Well done @Toomanycats99!

I also have no idea of what size I really am. I think it will take me a LONG time to drop a dress size as all my clothes are currently a 14 but I was most likely a size 16 in denial by wearing stretchy and/or elasticated clothes. Since lockdown I have been living in pjs and gym gear despite lack of exercise Grin

Anyway I am 2.5lbs down today which I am delighted with. 1lb left before my first 1 stone mark.

This is clearly going to take a looooong time so I need stay focussed and keep my eyes on the long term prize Star

Hello can I join this thread please? I’m 49, 5’6 tall currently weighing 14’11 (size 18) and would desperately love to be 11’11 (size 14). I absolutely love carbs, comfort food and big portions. And desserts! And cake!
And chocolate! For my health I’m trying to make better choices and reduce the size of my meals. I’m walking 10k steps a day and swimming For 45 minutes twice a week (slow breaststroke). Good luck to everyone in the same boat.

Hey, would you mind another 😀 ? I've 3 stone to get rid of mainly due to liking cheese and wfh and I expect a bit off perimenopause as I'm 44. Renpho smart scales helping motivate.. I'd really recommend them. 4 lbs down first week of weighing.. Love seeing the graph curving downwards!! Can also measure circumference of legs etc I'm using exercise bike 6 days a week for at least 30 mins and doing core exercises. My target is being comfortable in size 12 clothes again and not living in Fatface leggings and dresses forever!
Would love to hear people's progress .. Seems like such a big number until you hear others managing to do it 😀

BluePajamas · 08/09/2020 06:46

Hi and welcome @Hdoodley and @Dustyyy

I definitely feel back on track thanks to that challenge Grin

RubySlippers77 · 08/09/2020 09:27

Hi @Hdoodley and @Dustyyy!

Well done on your loss @Toomanycats99. I completely agree, so silly the way sizes differ! Even when I was a size 12 in the majority of shops (pre-DC!) I still couldn't get anywhere near a Topshop 12, for example.

Jammies and gym gear are very forgiving of extra lb's @notevenamum1! I am still in elasticated trousers Blush

Meanwhile, what's that noise at my house? Ah yes, that's it... NOTHING!! Back to school time!!! Admittedly only for a couple of hours, but for that time there will be no screeching, shouting or squabbling. If only I had time for some celebratory champagne, but sadly not, I'm nibbling some celebratory chocolate instead Grin

@BluePajamas, I'm off to try on my new size 16 jeggings soon and probably sob and regret the chocolate, will report back later!

Dustyyy · 08/09/2020 09:39

I’m off to get a long awaited colour and cut. My favourite way to spend a few hours with a nice cappuccino and some trashy magazines.

notevenamum1 · 08/09/2020 19:53

@Dustyyy I don’t think hairdressers are allowed to give drinks or magazines anymore so I hope you took your own! Blush

notevenamum1 · 08/09/2020 19:54

And welcome to both @Hdoodley and @Dustyyy I found this thread great motivation for sticking at it

Dustyyy · 08/09/2020 21:10

@notevenamum1 you were right - no coffee or mags :(((

SummerSummerSummertime · 08/09/2020 21:11

Oh hey can I join you please OP?
Also have 3st to lose.
Confused

Toomanycats99 · 08/09/2020 21:35

Course you can join us @SummerSummerSummertime!

Welcome

RubySlippers77 · 08/09/2020 22:52

Jeggings tried on @BluePajamas, and yes, the size 16 ones are... snug Hmm but TBH I'm just too exhausted to make a start on my weight loss plan yet. The DC are back at school full time next week (despite regular threats of a local lockdown!) and I desperately need a day off. I haven't had one for five years, surely it's not too much ask?! DS2 is particularly horrible at the moment and I am really counting down the minutes till I get a few hours away from him...

Welcome @SummerSummerSummertime, are you following any particular weight loss plan?

Toomanycats99 · 09/09/2020 00:46

@BluePajamas

Know how you feel!

Mine are both back and I have a day off work booked tomorrow. They don't know! Hopefully nothing will go wrong. Today specifically picked as has youngest has childminder before and after school.

I will be free from 7.45-5.45!

Toomanycats99 · 09/09/2020 00:46

Oops! That should have been @RubySlippers77 !

Toomanycats99 · 09/09/2020 06:25

Morning update - I have hit the 'overweight' BMI category not obese!!!!!

Yay!!!!!!

23lbs to date

RubySlippers77 · 09/09/2020 07:57

Well done @Toomanycats99 👏

I feel like I'm limping on till next week when I can finally rest and relax... two hours a day without the DC isn't enough to actually have a break!! I always thought we'd have another DC when the DTs got to this age, but frankly I feel too old and knackered 😂

At some point I will embark on my weight loss journey, but oh blimey, some actual down time is much needed first...

notevenamum1 · 09/09/2020 12:01

Well done @Toomanycats99 that’s an amazing loss!

Don’t be too hard on yourself @RubySlippers77 sounds like you really need a break! Not long till they are back at school now...

Toomanycats99 · 09/09/2020 13:48

I am so pleased. I have a child free day today so went shopping wanting to get couple of new bits of clothes. Saw skirt in fat face on sale in 16 and 18. Bought the 18 tried it on in toilets and had to go back and change for 16 I was so chuffed. Also bought another skirt in 16 I will try when I get home.

RubySlippers77 · 09/09/2020 17:11

@notevenamum1 I can't even start to tell you how much I need some child free time (after five years I think that's understandable!), especially with the threat of school closures constantly looming Shock

Brilliant news about the clothes sizes @Toomanycats99!

Toomanycats99 · 09/09/2020 17:16

@RubySlippers77

Make the most of when they are at school as soon as it happens!

Hence why I booked today off - I got in sharp in case there is a closure.

SummerSummerSummertime · 09/09/2020 20:05

Thanks for the welcome @Toomanycats99 & @RubySlippers77 Smile
I'm building up to it!
Exercise walking & swimming at this stage every day
Low carbs
Thinking 5:2 next week possibly 😳

Toomanycats99 · 09/09/2020 20:07

Good luck on the low carbs - that's what I'm doing and it seems to be working well!

Also fasting in the mornings so eat generally between 12-7.

RubySlippers77 · 10/09/2020 14:52

Did you enjoy your day off @Toomanycats99?

One school near us has already closed a 'bubble' - sigh. If I don't get some time off I will sob; I'm so desperately tired, utterly fed up with the DC (not helped by DS2 turning into a hellbeast the past few months) and have zero energy to exercise/ cook/ eat healthily.

I know it's a vicious circle - have less energy, do less, energy goes down again etc - but it's very hard to stay positive when the DC are up early and spend every waking minute squabbling/ moaning/ whinging/ hitting each other/ generally making me want to run a long, long way away from them...

I think @BluePajamas may win the size 14 challenge at this rate as all I currently want to do is bury myself under a mountain of chocolate!

Bollocksitshappenedagain · 10/09/2020 15:09

@RubySlippers77

I had a lovely day off thank you. Also really pleased with myself. Usually I would have got myself some lunch somewhere that was probably unhealthy. That was the original plan but I realised what I actually wanted was bread! So I got a nice loaf, king prawns and poached salmon and went and had a luxurious but (apart from the slathering of butter) healthy lunch.

I also bought fresh raspberries instead of a cake. It's my mindset changing I think. Usually I don't often buy raspberries as they are relatively expensive but would spend 'x' on a cream bun or something as a treat without thinking of that cost.
