I definitely think today's massive weight loss was period related. I weighed myself at the end of the day and I'd gained 4lb. (I'm aware it's not not "real weight" but I know my body norms and it's usually about 2lb). I also feel incredibly lethargic today - think the calorie restrictions, my period and single parenting 24/7 in lockdown have caught up with me today! Expecting a gain in the morning but not going to be disheartened because I know I've not eaten enough to actually gain weight so it will just be my body fluctuating.

Today is ending like this

@grumpyorange I should think you are proud - that's amazing - well done. Of course it''s not a fluke! Now all you have to do is stay on the wagon and keep going. It's a great feeling when you know you've got this.
I had chicken salad for dinner tonight which I didn't enjoy at all. I've decided that cooked chicken breasts don't freeze well. It was a bit waterlogged and the texture was all wrong. The second one in the pack is going down the red lane of recklesscat. Lesson learned.
I've got an Ocado delivery coming tomorrow so hoping for sirloin steak and stir fry which should make up for tonight's disappointment. [fingers crossed].

grumpyorange · 06/05/2020 22:02

@recklessgran thank you. I am very proud. At the moment I'm restricting calories but not what I eat if that makes sense. E.g ill still have some sweeties if it will fit in my allowance!
I can never freeze chicken breasts they never taste the same!

Trytryandtryagain · 06/05/2020 22:10

Well done everyone. I have forgotten to weigh myself this week, normally do every day. Hoping its a positive result!
No treats in the house at all... So had a very light day of food (also need to go shopping but trying to eek it out). Its our wedding anniversary and for first time we have not celebrated with a gallon of wine!! What has become of us?! We are going to have a nice afternoon tea over the weekend to celebrate - Ive ordered some cakes from a lovely baker...sssh.

Today
Breakfast; milky coffee (50cal)
Lunch; minestrone soup (150cal)
Dinner; apricot stuffed pork and cavelo nero (350)

No exercise as working all day but did a meditative yoga class.

@Ticklemeelmo i am having trouble with scales too. We have digital salter ones. I agree need to keep in same position on hard surface, but sometimes randomly increased by 1kg. Always goes up, never down!!!😂

ploughingthrough · 07/05/2020 00:51

Well done for all the losses everyone ! Some great motivation on this group. I'm still maintaining at 61.5kg. not seen even slight movement this week but I'm taking maintain as a good thing under Singapore's Draconian lockdown....I think really it's the lack of movement- my bum actually hurts from sitting down and delivering online lessons all day- so not used to it I think my job generally creates quite high calorie burn. My BMI is now 21.7 which I know is perfect theoretically but I still want to shift a bit more as I think I still look wobbly- my thighs and tum anyway. Will I have to be like 7 stone to get rid of those?! If so it ain't never gonna Happen!

cricketmum84 · 07/05/2020 08:36

Morning all :) hope we are all still doing well and looking forward to a bit of sunshine today! I will definitely be using my lunch break to sit out with a book for an hour!

Plan for today is:
B - melon and lots of water
L - shopska salad
D - going to convince eldest DD to make me her beautiful veggie ramen bowl. It's delicious and very low fat and healthy.

@ploughingthrough yep my bum and thighs hurt from all the sitting down. Am constantly at my laptop and I ache like mad!

Excellent loss @grumpyorange well done!

Hello peeps,

Weigh in at 86.6 whereas Monday was 87.5. Tbh I think that's just a combination of period and water but I've been trying the low carb keto ing.

Meal plan : pineapple leftovers for breakfast, eggs for lunch, chicken and roast veg for dinner. I'm going to push to drink more water. I feel less bloated, stomach has flattened but it's not showing hugely on the scales.

YummyVeggie · 07/05/2020 09:45

I’m apparently 2.2lb down since Tuesday which is great if it’s correct

Losingitihope · 07/05/2020 10:08

Checking in. Scales say I’ve lost 2.4lb since Tuesday, which I find hard to believe, but using as motivation anyway!

MotherOfDragonite · 07/05/2020 10:10

Thank you for the hello, @recklessgran. It's been very intense with the kids and as DD2 is still teething (back molars) my nights have been awful and I'm over-tired and just coping during the day and going to sleep as early as possible at night!

I did lose 1 lb at my weigh in this week (yesterday -- hello to all the other Wednesday weighers!) which I'm very pleased about.

So currently here are my stats:

Starting weight: 17 st 8.5 lb (January)
Last week's weight: 15 st 13 lb
Current weight: 15 st 12 lb (-1 lb)
Target for May: 15 st 6 lb (-7 lb)
Total still to lose: 48 lb

I am actually thinking I have probably been unrealistic in aiming to lose 7 lb a month and that 4-5 lb a month may be more realistic while we're in lockdown. But you never know!

JessJonesJumps · 07/05/2020 11:05

Mother yy I'm aiming for less than 7lbs this month too. Which is probably just as well because today is my weigh-in day and although I'm slightly down from yesterday, it's just made me the same as last week. All that up and down, to end up where I started.
Love the fruit and veg pic @cricketmum84 I forgot to take a pic of my box when it arrived so here's a pic of it partially unpacked 🙈 and with the rest washed and dried in bowls and racks.

WhatALearningCurve · 07/05/2020 11:59

Morning!

This mornings weigh in came at 12 st 0.5 again so thinking it might actually be real!

Not sure how I hadn't realised earlier (especially as I took a screenshot yesterday!) but because my activity levels have risen MFP has raised my calories to 1400 instead of 1200. I'm going to try and stick to 1200 because once this lockdown is over I won't be able to keep up this level of movement and I don't want to struggle to lower my calories - but it also means I'll have enough calories left over each week to treat myself on weekends.

Trytryandtryagain · 07/05/2020 11:59

Weigh in!

I think my scales must be wrong...just as i said last night the scales always go up, this time they've only gone down!! It says down 1.6kg (which is 3.5lbs). I'm going to take it with a pinch of salt but would be wonderful if true.

Start 83kg
Last week 75.85kg
This week 74.2kg
Target 72.85kg

Today:
Breakfast - nothing ...not even a coffee as run out of milk!!
Lunch - minestrone soup 150cal
Dinner - chicken kiev and salad 420cal

It looks like some medical treatment is starting again so i have to meet my deadline for 27 May for a BMI below 30. Its so annoying being short...i wouldn't normally advocate eating so few calories but avoiding going to the supermarket does help!!

Ticklemeelmo · 07/05/2020 14:17

Hi everyone, checking in. my scales read 10 stone 6 this morning which I'm pleased with- they're a bit dodgy so I have a new battery on order but I'll take that reading as a win for now until I can guarantee accurate results. My clothes feel slightly looser so hoping it is correct!

I managed another run yesterday, will just do a park walk with the baby today as sleep last night was pretty bad and I'm quite drained. Have restarted MFP in the last few days with a calorie intake of 2000 per day to account for breastfeeding (googled and this is estimated to use around 500 per day).

Breakfast- grapes with Greek yogurt, honey and a crumpet with marmite.

Lunch- beans on wholemeal toast with a tomato.

I may do a chicken salad for dinner.

Happy bank holiday weekend all.

Ticklemeelmo · 07/05/2020 14:29

@Trytryandtryagain

Glad I'm not the only one! wonder if it's a problem specific to Salter scales. Happy wedding anniversarySmile

Hurtsrighthere · 07/05/2020 14:45

I keep weighing and don't appear to be losing anything, but I'm TRYING not to take too much notice because I have a habit of starving myself based on it, I'm not going over 1200 calories a day, often between 1000 and 1100, drinking quite a lot of water and still doing insanity and long walks. The muscle definition has changed a bit and my love handles have got considerably smaller, I can now fit into my size 12 jeans, so although I would like the scales to change I'm not taking it to heart too much. Or I'm trying. You're all doing so well, I hope I can keep the motivation up.

recklessgran · 07/05/2020 20:42

Evening all. Reasonable day here, except I stole a Roses chocolate from DH's stash. Oh well at least it was only one. Bacon and egg for lunch. A few nuts for a snack whilst working at my desk. Steak and stir fry for dinner. Will have sugar free jelly and a couple of squares of chocolate later. I think I'm having a hungry day today for some reason.
I'm wondering about getting off the wagon tomorrow. We live in a cul de sac and there is a VE Day plan whereby we are all sitting out in our respective front gardens for afternoon tea and cake a la social distancing street party style. I've put a couple of bottles of prosecco in the fridge to chill - [blow the tea plan] Think I might make a Victoria sandwich in the morning. Anyone know how much damage would cake and Prosecco do to my Keto malarkey? It's also our 44th wedding anniversary tomorrow. Crumbs, I can't believe where the time has gone - twas a great day and DH has been making every day right for me ever since. Feeling very lucky tonight.
@CricketMum84 should you even be working with shingles? It can make you feel ghastly. I think you ought to be off sick but no idea how that works when wfh. Thinking of you and hope you feel better soon and have a rest over the long weekend.

HundredYearOldMan · 07/05/2020 21:57

Checking in - I had a few pages to catch up on, loving reading about all the losses, the NSV’s and the exercise everyone is doing. I am doing well with food but not so good with drinking water or exercising. We usually go on nice long walks at the weekend so that’ll be fine - need to come up with a plan for drinking more water, I’ve always been terrible for taking in enough liquid! I have been ravenous for the past couple of days for some reason, but managing to stop myself from snacking after dinner.

@recklessgran happy anniversary! The party sounds so fun, I think 44 years deserves some cake and Prosecco to celebrate! I would love to go to any kind of party at the moment.

ishouldtryabiteachday · 07/05/2020 23:58

I weigh in on Thursdays so last week
10 st 13 lbs

This week 10st 11.5 lbs ( darn .5) so 1.5 lbs off

I did have one slip up mid morning Tuesday( 5 choc chip brioche .. that were way past their best. I'd been resisting them for a week Blush) I made that accident my unhealthy early lunch and did the rest of the day as normal including an extra long walk after the brioche. I've told DH not to buy them again.

Onesmallstep67 · 08/05/2020 09:17

Getting my update in early before I get sidetracked by other stuff.
Having a good week so far. I am about 4 lbs down from last Sunday ( the day I decided enough was enough) thankfully I seem to be in a good place with it at the moment. I still have a long way to go to get back to where I was 2 months ago. And I am terribly impatient ! As I have realised quite clearly in the last few weeks though this isn't just about being on a diet, it has to be a lifestyle change.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy the long weekend. Smile

Virago1 · 08/05/2020 10:08

Love reading all the updates from the past few days, everyone's doing so well!

Thought I'd weigh in before the weekend and I've lost 3lbs since Monday which I'm happy with. Planning a bit of a cheat meal and wine tonight, typically this would lead to several days of bad choices so keeping things in check over the weekend is going to be my big challenge.

Planning to go for a walk later and do weights to try and offset things a bit, hope everyone has a great long weekend! Smile

FerreroRocherAreAmazing · 08/05/2020 10:19

Well done everyone!! I maintained today so am going to up my exercise and start couch to 5k and see if that helps. I seem to average about 7000 steps which isnt helping. Has anyone used Fiton for workouts? Someone said they were good and it was free?
Roll on the next week and hope everyone has a brilliant bank holiday weekend!

JessJonesJumps · 08/05/2020 11:15

Happy anniversary reckless ! You're the type of MNer that posters say doesn't exist ie happily married for many years Grin
Finally through TOTM (which is very erratic) and dropped 1.2lbs so have reached my target for this week. Assuming this is a real drop and not a random dip.
My back and hip have been playing up the last few days but I'm going to try to push through them to do yoga - in the hope it actually helps to make it better.

cricketmum84 · 08/05/2020 11:47

Hi everyone. Happy bank holiday! No work for me today yay!

Am planning on sitting outside with a good book and soaking up some well needed vitamin D!

Funny food plan today - I'm going to try out some 0 point celeriac based Doritos in the oven with a lovely fresh tomato salsa. Then littlest DD has planned a little party food feast but it's all bread and meat based 😂 I'm going to make a tuna pasta salad I think and have half on iceberg lettuce tonight and half again tomorrow.

@recklessgran no I probably could have done with a few days rest to be honest but there has just been so much to do and I would have ended up working and answering emails anyway and still having days knocked off my sick pay allowance so it's pointless. Happy anniversary to you and Mr Reckless. Glad you made us to 44 years without him going under that patio 😂

Well done on all the losses guys. Weigh day for me tomorrow but I'm not holding out much hope. These scales are just not flipping moving!

Hi @Ticklemeelmo, I just read your post saying you are still breastfeeding and reading with interest - I am also still bf my baby so cannot do any aggressive dieting, however I have about 2 stone I want to lose.
I have been craving naughty sugary things the last 4/5 months so have cut bad sugar out completely , if you have any more words of wisdom , pls let me know.

Breakfast today - Left over Weetibix ( from my dc!) a slice of brown toast with banana and peanut butter.
Lunch - Nourish bowl salad, no dressing had a few black olives.
Tea - will be fish with green veg and sweet potato

Snacks so far - an apple

Daily 45 min walk with dc in carrier.
