Hello everyone! Well done those of you that have made it to the next stone bracket down - feels amazing and so motivating.
I weighed this morning and was 60.3kg - checked three times! That's a 1.5kg weight loss for this month and just over 15kg overall.
My work (I'm a teacher) delivered hampers to all staff to say thank you for our work during the lockdown which is lovely of them but it's rammed with chocolately goodness so I think I'm going to have to donate to DH and the kids (although not sure I can resist the mint choc sticks!)

Ploughingthrough · 13/05/2020 03:07

Also, whilst I'm pretty much at target weight (60kg or 9 and a half stone) I really want to stay with you guys while I try to maintain, it's been an amazing support group you guys are the best.
Now talking of maintaining, anyone have any idea how I do this?! At the moment I follow 16:8 pretty much every day, with no snacking and no booze. I don't plan to add in snacking, booze or junk food but do you think I could move away from the 16:8 model and add a light breakfast? I'd like to eat a little more, but I def don't want to gain.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 13/05/2020 08:54

Good Morning.

I've weighed today and lost 2.2lbs. I'm very pleased with that. It takes me to 30lbs in total.

I've worked out that another 3lbs loss will take my BMI out of the obese category and into overweight, so that is my target for the rest of the month.

Glad to see the sun is out again here so will head for a walk shortly. Have a lovely day everyone.

Trytryandtryagain · 13/05/2020 09:12

@Ploughingthrough well done reaching target. James Smith, online PT suggested upping calories 15-20% to maintain so that could well be breakfast.

Sounds like you are very nearly there @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa!! Just 3llbs! Keep going.

I did a midweek weigh in and have gone up 0.5kg...i think that will be the bread and cake from the weekend. Ooopsie! Will refocus next few days... there's not much in the house to get distracted by so hopefully I can at least maintain this week.

Today's meals look like:
B: latte (100cal)
L: lentil soup (150cal)
D: fillet steak and green vegetables (300)

cricketmum84 · 13/05/2020 09:55

Morning all! Hope we are all feeling a bit brighter as the weather is picking up again. I was a bit down while it was cold and dark!

Trying to stay away from the scales but I'm doing well with OMAD and plenty of fruit and veg.

Plan for today is carrot sticks and hummous early afternoon. Then quiche and salad tonight.

@Ploughingthrough I don't think I've ever been at a point of maintaining lol but I'm sure there will be more knowledgeable people with good ideas :) well done!

@PlanetSlattern what is your evening meal? Never heard of that and I certainly can't spell it 😂

I always wanted to ice skate, I love watching figure skating! Unfortunately I have all the grace of a baby elephant and last time I attempted had to be picked up by a 10 year old boy while "D"H absolutely wet himself laughing at the other side of the rink. Never again.

Have a happy Wednesday all!

Morning everyone. Scales stuck after last week's early 4lbs loss. But I feel less bloated and better in general for moving back over to eating more healthily and dropping the evening drinking !
I am in awe of those of you only eating once a day. I would feel both hungry and deprived.
KOKO you're all doing brilliantly.

StudentHelp · 13/05/2020 11:14

Well done for keeping going everyone!

@Ploughingthrough
I think I’ve heard of something known as reverse dieting where you slowly increase daily calories by around 50 each week until you’re at the correct weight for maintaining.

WhatALearningCurve · 13/05/2020 13:26

Hello!

Scales stayed the same at 11.13 3/4 this morning

If they stay the same tomorrow then I'm going to start believing it! However I also did 15,000 steps yesterday which is not manageable every day and I'm exhausted today 🤣. Got my 10,000 done on a walk this morning pushing the pram. I'll get another few thousand in chasing my toddler round this afternoon but I don't think I'll have yesterday's achievements ha

@ploughingthrough thank you! And major congrats on target weight!

I've got 1.5 stone to lose till I'm in healthy BMI, but ideally I want to lose 2 - 2.5 stone so that I've got wiggle room and can allow myself to live a bit more "normally" and maybe calorie count in the week to maintain and then live my weekends for enjoyment

JessJonesJumps · 13/05/2020 15:37

Well done everyone who has reached the next stone and reached target! You're all fab!

Scales are all over the place atm so I decided to measure instead and I seem to have lost 0.5inches from my hips and 0.5 inches from my chest so far this month.

I have a supermarket delivery coming tomorrow so I'll find something with a set weight and position my scales accordingly Grin and hopefully they'll settle down enough for me to get a weight.

DM has been a bit poorly again the last few days so that's been a bit of a worry but she has GP and hospital appointments arranged so hopefully by the end of the month we'll know a bit more.

PlanetSlattern · 13/05/2020 15:39

@PloughingThrough well done! I'd love to be where you are now... very inspiring. I find maintaining very hard (when I even get there) so I'll watch other people's replies with interest. I would say take it very slowly and easily. Breakfast sounds like a great starting point to me.

@cricketmum84 there's no guarantee I've spelt it right! Mine was x2 red onions sautéd with chillies and tomatoes (that's three portions), which you have on top of a wholemeal tortilla with 1/2 an avocado, x2 (lightly) fried eggs, plenty of lime and salt and fresh coriander. It's not low-calorie at all but I'm focusing on vegetables and variety rather than calorie-counting for now. I mean, it's better than a tub of Haagen Dazs (I hope). Smile

Ticklemeelmo · 13/05/2020 17:08

Hi everyone,

Well done on all the losses! Great getting down to the stone below.

@SneakersandSocks

Yes that'd make sense I guess about the body holding on to the fat for the baby! Great for our kids, less so for our diets.

That's really good you're down 2.5 lbs, don't feel bad for having the odd treat. I'm trying to change my drinks to water or a bit of cordial too, I was drinking a lot of juice before.

skating definitely keeps you fit- you forget you're exercising which is the best kind of exercise I think, I just always stare at the calorie counter screen when I'm in the gym which makes it seem harder :)

I weighed myself this morning and still at 10.6 stone - the same as last week which I'm ok with, it's a loss of 4 lbs in 3 weeks so getting to my target of 10.4 in another 2 weeks should be doable. My BMI is overweight at 27, so aiming to get that down to 25 in another month or two.

recklessgran · 13/05/2020 19:58

Evening everybody. Some great losses going on despite the continued lockdown. That's brilliant. I had a piece of cheese and some cold roast pork for lunch. More cold roast pork with roasted peppers and red onion for dinner followed by a sugar free jelly. Not the healthiest days eating really. Must up my water and salad/veg intake without doubt.

CoronaMoaner · 14/05/2020 07:54

Morning all.
2 week weigh in STS. Not the end of the world. Now the ban on exercise has been lifted I’ll hopefully get out more.
Plan for today is
B. Cereal and a banana (had)
L. Boiled egg sandwich and salad
D. Fish and vegetables
MiL dropped off a load of home baked cakes yesterday and I did have one or two.... they’ll be gone by tonight though so will hopefully get back on track.
Have a good one losers.

cricketmum84 · 14/05/2020 08:38

Morning all, still sticking at 17.13 for now, hoping it drops a bit more before official weigh in on Saturday.

@PlanetSlattern that sounds gorgeous and right up my street! I don't think it sounds unhealthy though, you do need a little fat in your diet to stay healthy and avocado is one of the best types :)

Plan for today is:
B - a nectarine and 2 litres water before 12.
L - carrot sticks and hummous
D - eldest DD is making enchiladas so probably Mexican quorn type thing for me with salad and a bit of brown rice

My lovely step dads mum passed away yesterday morning, not covid related but she had been ill for quite some time and was very elderly. So I'm really feeling not being able to go over and see family today. I didn't see her very much but I just feel so sad for SD.

Onwards and downwards losers!

OP posts:
recklessgran · 14/05/2020 10:12

@CricketMum84 I'm so sorry for your family's loss - it's a bad time to lose anybody and I agree the worst bit is not being able to comfort each other as a family. We lost DH's stepmum on Easter Sunday [not Covid related] so completely understand how you're feeling - be kind to yourself today.

My weight seems to be going down again and now getting closer to the 11's. I thought I'd stop after another 5 or 6 pounds but now I'm doubting whether that will in fact be enough. This change of heart has come about after trying on a size 14 jumper I ordered online. Such a lovely jumper but the fit was like putting a sausage into a skin and showed up every lump and bump. When looking in the mirror at myself I was appalled and wondered what I was thinking that my goal of 11st 10lbs would be alright. That weight would put me right at the top of the healthy weight for my height on the BMI chart. Perhaps I ought to start weight training or something? Scary thought!
Today is DD5's 27th birthday so I'm OMAD today and fillet steak with pepper sauce, mushrooms and tomatoes for dinner. Everyone else will be having chips but I will avoid those. I'm just going to start making the birthday cake. That will be hard to resist but I'll probably have what is known here as a dolly slice. Hope everyone has a good day.

Onceuponatimethen · 14/05/2020 10:21

@cricketmum84 and @recklessgran, so very sorry to hear about your losses. This is such a tough time to be bereaved Flowers

Onceuponatimethen · 14/05/2020 10:24

@recklessgran the steak sounds delicious!

I was successful on the scales today as I’m now 75.3 kg and can’t quite believe that! Dp is doing even better in terms of total lost as he’s now at 81.2 Kg - he couldn’t quite believe it when the number came up and his face was lovely to see Smile

Just wanted to say an enormous well done to us all on here and to say thank you to everyone for the support we are all giving each other to keep on going. All on this thread are heroic to be doing this and deserve medals Star

JessJonesJumps · 14/05/2020 13:50

@cricketmum84 and @recklessgran sorry for your losses. It's such a difficult time. It makes you appreciate when we were able to pop over to see people and grieve together, offer a hug of support, etc Flowers

PlanetSlattern · 14/05/2020 18:16

I'm sorry to hear about your losses too, @recklessgran and @cricketmum84. I hope you're both OK.

I'm track today.

  • Chocolate and raspberry oat bran porridge
  • x2 soft-boiled eggs with a slice of buttered toast, steamed asparagus and prosciutto
  • fat-free natural yogurt with almond butter and toasted flaked almonds
  • new potato salad, with freshly podded broad beans, peas, feta, lemon, parsley and olive oil

I'm this close to having a glass of cold white wine, but there's a birthday in our house at the weekend so I'm saving myself for a glass of champagne and a slice of cake then.

Tryingtwo · 14/05/2020 22:52

Hi all, I haven't been doing well since the beginning of May. I worked so hard to get into the 11's by the end of the April I think I just thought 'sod it' and started snacking more and more. I didn't weigh in on 6th May, went shopping and bought sausages and rolls for hotdogs for the bank holiday. Saturday evening ended badly (caloriewise) with Dominos and a glass of wine and Sunday was a dead loss. I began to get back on track on Monday but was still over my goal calories. Finally got on the scales on Tuesday and unsurprisingly was back in the 12's. Wednesday weigh in was 12st 1.2lbs and I was down again today. I have stuck to my plan since Tuesday and hope to get back into the 11's soon. I haven't been reading the thread so I will catch up before tomorrow. Hope you are all well and doing better than me Smile

cricketmum84 · 15/05/2020 09:42

Morning lovelies, thank you for the kind words yesterday.

Still at 17.13 today. Official weigh in tomorrow and would love to get down another pound (prays to the gods of the scales)

Had a little cheat yesterday and opened some coconut cloud cookies instead of the healthy lunch I had planned. God they were gorgeous though. And I only had a half portion of my evening meal so think I pulled it back.

Plan for today is:
B - water and 2 peaches
L - carrot and cucumber sticks and hummous (not cookies lol)
D - think will be the amazing mushroom orzo, haven't had it in ages and it's just so warm and comforting. Plus I have loads of mushrooms to use!

@Tryingtwo don't feel disappointed, that's really a tiny gain for going off plan since the start of May! You will soon be back into the 11s I'm sure of it. KOKO we are all in this together!

@PlanetSlattern I'm planning prosecco for Saturday night! Whole night of Eurovision fun and me and littlest DD are euro-obsessed. Going to venture to the co op later with gloves and mask for prosecco, schloer and veg crisps to share!

@Onceuponatimethen and Mr Once you are both doing so well. Total superstars!

Hope your DD had a lovely birthday @recklessgran and you managed to avoid the chips! Also cake doesn't have any calories when it's someone's birthday... I'm sure someone told me that once...

Happy Friday you lovely lot.

This mornings weigh in shows a loss of 3lbs this week.

Not too bad (would've been more if I hadn't of slipped up yesterday!)

I'm hoping by next week I will have moved down a stone bracket!

JessJonesJumps · 15/05/2020 13:08

grumpyorange 3lbs is amazing! Well done!
I'm down 2.5lbs so far this month. I tried a giant tin of tomatoes on my scales and either the tin itself weighed 0.2lbs or my scales are adding 0.2lbs no matter where I put them. 🤔 So I'm just going to continue putting them in the same place with a little faint hope in the back of my mind that I might actually be 0.2lbs lighter than I am recording Grin

SconNotScone · 15/05/2020 13:25

Sorry for the losses in your families @recklessgran and @cricketmum84. My husband’s grandad died of Covid-19 about 3 weeks ago, he was very very elderly and had advanced dementia, sadly one of many victims from within a care home. It is really sad, but he had a very long life, and wasn’t himself any more.

Weight wise, I suspect this week will be a STS. I can’t seem to stop snacking on crap. I think it is mitigated somewhat by having low cal meals and walking lots, but I can’t seem to get a grip of it. I’m so close to the end now, you’d think I’d just keep my head down and persevere for a couple of weeks, but it just ain’t happening!

Trytryandtryagain · 15/05/2020 15:22

Well done on 3llbs loss @grumpyorange! That's great for a week.

It is so sad the unnecessary and early passing away of close ones. Our neighbour's husband has also passed away while in a care home having contracted covid, transferred out from hospital. And so much harder to make all the arrangements and say goodbye.

I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow. We have builders in and they had already arrived this morning so I wasn't able to! I weighed myself earlier in the week and think will be STS (weekend exploits of cake and bread definitely catching up).

Made me think maintenance is tough....the weekend involved some treats (bread, ham, cheese, and a couple of cakes) but no alcohol and I minimised the other meals to have some semblance of restraint! And then this week has been between 500-1000 calories each day. I don't know what the secret of some women of staying so slim... Feels like only answer is to barely eat!
