Lockdown lose a stone! That tricky last stone!

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 18/04/2020 11:38

Hello,
So I got back on the scales today and I was 9 stone 12.5.

The Dukan diet calculator says I can be 8 stone 10 by June 20.
Can this be true? Let us try it out!!

Based on my exhaustive and extensive diet 'research' from the last 27 out of 41 years of my life and weight ranging between 8 stone and 12.7 stone I am going to do the following:

  1. Daily 'change my mindset' reading in the morning
  2. Meal plan for the week but every morning commit to what I am going to eat for the day.
  3. Follow a low carb diet based on Dukan when my book arrives and Louise Parker recipes because I love her.
  4. Tuesdays and Thursdays are 16/8 days.
  5. Beachbody on demand - Morning meltdown 100 workouts.

I have lipoedema and I am not 100% sure my thyroid works.
I haven't got any lower than 9 stone 10 in the last two years.

I feel well and might as well use this lockdown time to focus on balancing the blood sugar and my insulin response! Weight loss should be the result.

Anyone else want to join in and lose a stone over the next couple of months?

Can I join please?
I'm doing a combination of 16/8 and calorie counting. I've managed to lose 1/2 stone so far but have a stone to target.
I'm currently 10st 10lb and my target is 9st 10lb. I'd like to go a bit lower but this seems a reasonable first target.
I'm 5ft 4.
I need the inspiration and a push to lose it!

Squashbanana125 · 28/04/2020 13:19

Thanks for all the support

I’ve never done daily weight in before and was sad to see a gain from 10’2 3/4 yesterday to bang on 10’4 this morning

Which I am very disappointed with.
Yesterday I did eat more and had a picky plate of ham after my planned dinner and had 4 yes only 4 custard creams. But was still within my allotted time to eat.

Also I’m due on today or any day so that could make a difference. So now I’m down just 1lb from where I started and feel quiet down.

Anyway today’s plan
B fast
L wettabix and milk
D steak and vegetables
Snacks will be Greek yogurt and fruit

holidayheadache · 28/04/2020 13:19

@OhCobblers I'm also motivated by the scales only. I have measured and I've lost 2.5 inches from my waist (always the first place I lose it) but I only lost 0.5lb after a full week of 1200 calories and exercise!

yukka · 28/04/2020 18:48

@Squashbanana125 I know how you feel, actually I gave up daily weigh ins cos fluid retention can put on 2 pounds and it's not worth the stress it gives me! I'm going with Saturday weigh in so that Saturday night can be treat/reward night.

@OhCobblers don't forget with the exercise you are building muscle which weighs more. Anyone of us doing hiit / strength sessions will be building thigh muscle quite quickly.

@holidayheadache we're in the same space I'm 5.3 (and a half - v important!) and 10.10. I've set my goal as 10st as the thought of seeing the scales start with a 9 feels impossible 🤦‍♀️ one step at a time hey!

So I did the fast yesterday - was fine. Today was harder I've needed a lot more snacks this afternoon. My legs were broken from yesterday's hit so I did 4m pram walk. I'm still well under net calories.

Find it hard batch cooking for 9mth old as I want to eat All OF IT 😱

Also started my fitness pal, v helpful for forward planning each day.

Claire5678 · 28/04/2020 20:15

Hi @holidayheadache I’ve only just joined too

@OhCobblers that’s so annoying, even though you know you’re slimmer!

My main annoyance with weight loss is my torso always gets skinny around the ribs and collarbone but can never shift the weight from my hips and legs where it needs to come off!

Today went well
B - 2 eggs with a slice of toast
L - baked potato with tuna (2tbsp low fat mayo)
T - breaded fish and broccoli
S - 3 minstrels, 3 Jacobs crackers

yukka · 28/04/2020 20:25

@Claire5678 your restraint on the minstrels is awesome, no way would I be able to stop!

Does anyone have any recipes for choclatey , low fat, low carb, low sugar treats....?!🤦‍♀️

holidayheadache · 28/04/2020 20:30

@yukka sugar free jelly? I usually put fruit with it and it's minimal calories.

yukka · 28/04/2020 20:33

@holidayheadache great idea thank you 😊

beautyqueenfrompluto · 28/04/2020 21:57

Can I join too!
My details are very similar to a few others: I've lost a stone since Christmas but am still 1st over where I should be. I'm currently 10st 3lbs, will be happy at 9st 7lbs but would love to get to 9st 3lbs.
I'm going MFP and since lockdown have been running a lot more and doing Joe Wicks.
Im off chocolate (except on day 1 of my period!), no wine or crisps mid-week and no carbs at dinner (expect once per weekend).
I'm feeling very motivated (although frustrated at the time it's taking).

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 28/04/2020 22:09

Hello everyone,
I hope you all missed me!!! And my motivational questions??!! As I missed this morning you get a reprieve from them!

I was working all day. All day. I have just finished but I managed to get my workout it in and it was the thought of this thread that made me think - I can't not do it. So thank you team llas!

Welcome beautyqueenfrompluto.

It is soooooo annoying to be doing everything right and not lose any weight.

I am also impressed with the two minstral restraint.

About chocolatey desserts have you thought about some of the low cal mousses from M&S? Or an options hot chocolate?

Today I ate:
B: Oatbran galette, yogurt, rhubarb and ricotta
L: Salad and houmous
D: Chicken and veg

I am not doing much work tomorrow and so I will be back tomorrow morning!!

Nyancat · 29/04/2020 07:28

Can I join you all. I'm currently 10,3 hoping to get to around 9-9,3. I was doing brilliantly before lockdown, changed to a vegan diet around February and had been feeling really great health wise but being in the house all day with 2 kids isn't helping and DH is keyworker so rarely here at the minute so I'm snacking in the evenings where I would normally have gone for a run. I've put on 2lb since lockdown which isn't too bad but I'm desperate to get into that 9 stone bracket for a start

beautyqueenfrompluto · 29/04/2020 07:37

Nyancat I'm exactly the same, seeing 9st on the scales will make me so happy! I'm going to buy a new dress when i reach that landmark.

Foreverlexicon · 29/04/2020 08:11

@Claire5678 I’m exactly the same! I get to a point where my top half starts to look too thin but I still dislike my hips and lower stomach 🙄 but I’m doing more exercise this time round so hoping that will help?

Yesterday was good. Low on the calories as I woke up late and went to bed early as I was knackered but after the previous days chocolate intake, I’m fine with that.

Even sent a massive Indian takeaway to my partner and her family (currently 300 miles away, her mum is terminally ill so she moved down just before lockdown to care for her) and didn’t get one for myself so I think I deserve to lose half a stone for that at least!

B - hot cross bun with jam
L - cheese dippers and a bowl of berries
D - beef stew with veg and potatoes
S - 2 bits of fudge and 2 chocolates
E - rode horse for 30 min and did level 3 of the 30 day shred (first time I’ve done it and Jesus it’s a killer!)

Total calories were 1172.

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 29/04/2020 09:14

Welcome Nyancat. You can do it.

Foreverlexion - I really think that such will power deserves a result. It will!

Day 12 commitments:

Motivation: Switch from 'I can do this' to 'Can I do this?' (Yes, I can)!
By framing things as a question we ignite the 'how/planning part' and this promotes an active response.

Meals: B Fast
L: Oatbran porrige (I haven't gone shopping yet so my choices for a pure protein day are limited).
D: Sea bass and veg (I will have gone shopping today).

Movement: Walk and Morning Meltdown

Have a great day today!

OP posts:
myohmywhatawonderfulday · 29/04/2020 09:14

Oh no! Its a pure protein day. I can't have sea bass and veg. I will have chicken soup.

OP posts:
yukka · 29/04/2020 10:25

Thanks for the motivation @myohmywhatawonderfulday

My plan for today
B -protein shake
L - protein shake and 100g chicken
D - hunters chicken, green beans, corn and sweet potato wedges
S - grilled mushroom with Stilton

30-45 mins on the turbo trainer and 45 min pram/dog walk. 874 calories with 514 burnt.

holidayheadache · 29/04/2020 10:58

I got on the scales this morning and I'm a pound down. Hooray!
10st 9lb.

Squashbanana125 · 29/04/2020 18:00

Sorry I’ve been quiet, the dc’s have been keeping me busy.

Didn’t weigh in this morning. Will wait till tomorrow which 1 week I think and 1 day since started. Happy with 10’4 or below.

I love the idea of getting to 9 anything and I too will treat myself but these last 5 pesky pounds take some beating Smile

I’ll be honest start of the week was more like a fast as I was consuming so little calories and I know for me it’s not sustainable but I eat a little more and the weight goes on. I shall see what I am tomorrow. Be interesting
Today
B- fast
L- scrambled eggs, bacon & beans
D- no idea yet as kids what chicken pie and mash and peas which I can’t have. So I may have ham, more eggs lol and peas for dinner It’s easy . And Greek yogurt and some grapes I need to use up.

Welcome to all the newbies

yukka · 29/04/2020 19:03

Ooh well done @holidayheadache nice start :)

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 29/04/2020 19:56

How was all your days?

Do you follow any fitness people on youtube at all?

OP posts:
Mimilondon39 · 29/04/2020 20:24

I’m having a emotionally draining one - serious drama with my brother and I have been crying all day. Luckily have good friends that have listened to me rant and I’m having a BIG GIN!

yukka · 29/04/2020 20:48

Oh no @Mimilondon39 hope everything is ok. Big gin will help :)

I felt fed up as dh started 'diet' on Monday and has gone from 12.13 to 12.8 in 3 days. Like wtf?!

😭😭😭

How was your day @myohmywhatawonderfulday

Foreverlexicon · 30/04/2020 08:11

Yesterday was good
B - chocolate, banana and oat smoothie
L - homemade mushroom soup and slice garlic bread
D - chicken enchiladas and salad
S - 2 bits of fudge, 2 pralines, small packet of popcorn
Calories: 1400
E - rode horse for 1.5 hours, ran 7.2km

I’ve got a very anxious/emotional day ahead without much to fill it or take my mind off things but I’ll do my best to stay with it.

beautyqueenfrompluto · 30/04/2020 09:09

Yesterday was good for me, but today will be more challenging as it's been 2 weeks since we've done a shop and we are on freezer food so limited choices. I'm hoping to do a big shop this afternoon but I may have to wait until the kids are in bed.
I went for a pre-work jog though so I'm pleased about that!
I'm weighing in tomorrow.

yukka · 30/04/2020 09:34

My plan for today
B protein shake
L 2 jumbo mushrooms with melted Stilton and coleslaw
D chicken, sweet potato wedges and something else
S raisins, boiled egg

Dh is not working today so im off to do full 45 mins on turbo trainer. He weighed in this morning and has stayed the same so I think the real work starts for him now!

@Foreverlexicon sorry you have a challenging day ahead. Do your best to stick with it but don't beat yourself up if you don't, bad days are bound to happen x
