Fuck, I've literally ate my way through the last four weeks.

I was already a couple of stone overweight and now I've done loads more damage. All I do is eat and then eat some more.

I'm going to sort my shit out starting tomorrow, anyone else want to join me?

@AutumnNymph yes that would be really good. Thank you ⭐️

By all means if it makes it easier, @AutumnNymph. Though seeing my weight in three figures is heinous.

AutumnNymph · 17/04/2020 11:30

@JonHammIsMyJamm we could go with kgs but then it feels like it takes ages to see a change Grin

I am prepping lunch and will tidy up the spreadsheet and also add some instructions on how to use/view later in the evening.

Morning all! What has everyone found the most successful way to lose weight? I've done them all, WW, SW, no carb, fast etc etc. I've had success with all but no maintain. I think I'm most happy with just eating home prepared meals, smaller portions and less or no snacks. Generally being less of a greedy bitch. It's never been about what I eat for me, more about how much.
Today's breakfast was 40g of porridge, some blueberries, 5 chopped almonds and a dollop of fat free Greek yoghurt. I'm planning on carrot soup, a small roll and an orange for lunch. Really need to plan a dinner pronto, before I cook the frozen pasties that I know are in the freezer.

Chinks123 · 17/04/2020 12:12

So happy I’ve found this thread, it’s an omen- I found dp had eaten 2 Creme eggs I’d been saving and told him off but I’m relieved they’ve gone Grin

I started dieting in February when ds was 6 months old and was 11stone 8. I weighed in yesterday at 10 stone 8 exactly so I’ve lost a stone. I’m really pleased and before lockdown didn’t snack at all but I can see myself getting tempted out of boredom. I was dieting for a holiday, we would have flown out next week Sad so I don’t want to lose motivation!
I’m not sure what my goal weight is. Pre dc i was 9 stone but I was underweight at 5’9 so I’m not sure where I’d like to be. I like my new curves just want to keep on track.

@Fluffle55 ‘Generally being less of a greedy bitch’ is exactly what my mantra is. We were having takeaways left right and centre, a pack of digestives with a cup of tea, a pack of Jaffa cakes with a film Blush To lose the stone, I had absolutely no snacks (although I’ve started snacking again recently) no takeaways at all since February, and I calorie count.

TheVeryThing · 17/04/2020 12:15

God, I really need this thread. I need to lose about two and half stone and had made some progress with the 5:2 diet. I just can't deal with fasting at the moment and have been eating every sugary carby thing going.
I weighed in at 11 stone 9 this morning, I'm only 5' 4" and have a very small frame so that is heavy for me.
I'm going to try 16:8 instead, delaying breakfast until around 11 and no snacking!
I'm doing a short workout most mornings and trying to get out for walks as well.

diege · 17/04/2020 12:17

fluffle55 I've always done well on slimming world, which is my plan now. Having said that, I like the flexibility of calorie counting in terms of what I can eat, so am tracking on My Fitness Pal. Basically I'll follow anything that 'allows' me to indulge my sugar addiction. I know if I cut out foods I just get cross and break the diet!

menthollyinsane · 17/04/2020 12:30

@Fluffle55 the best way for me is calorie counting so I allow around 1200 per day. I tried keto a couple of years ago and lost a stone in two weeks but felt like death and it was so restricting but great for a quick fix.

ImperfectTents · 17/04/2020 12:58

I can't face fasting either so it 1200 cal per day for me. MyFitnessPal is great when you are in the zone.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 17/04/2020 13:04

I’m also on the ‘be less of a greedy bitch’ Plan. It isn’t much fun, tbh and I’m only on day 1 Hmm. I’m due lunch and I’m craving sweet things like a mofo. Total ballache, tbh.

ginghamstarfish · 17/04/2020 13:04

No, the opposite in fact! We are conscious of not being able to get food as we could before, so tending to ration stuff a bit more. I have a weekly meal plan and inventory so I can keep on top of what we've got, and not wanting to go out to the shop unnecessarily.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 17/04/2020 13:10

I don’t go to the shop unnecessarily, @ginghamstarfish. I used to go to the supermarket every day/every other day. Now I go every 7-10 days. I do meal plan but we do have snacks in the house and activity levels have dropped and boredom levels have risen, thanks to lockdown. I don’t think any of the PTCEDYFB Crew are out raiding the shops every day for their illicit calories Hmm.

diege · 17/04/2020 13:22

Lunch has been and gone and I have sinned 😩 Soup, a small pitta, but then stumbled across some aero truffles in fridge. So...had one and 2 rich teas with a coffee. Around 8 syns on slimming world, so not out yet!

Sadly Im having to go to the shops more frequently than I'd wish to do. Single parent of 6 and a non-driver so tricky to do, even with a 'when I can get it ' online slot. Feels like I'm heading out on a Walking Dead supply run! 🤣 Have a lovely big box of fruit, veg and eggs coming on Wednesday though!

menthollyinsane · 17/04/2020 13:27

@ginghamstarfish I don't go to the supermarket unnecessarily, I go every 8 days or so. Before lockdown I used to go most days.

Eugh. Started so well. I did a kettlebell workout and was feeling super motivated.
Then decided I’d join the family who were having a picnic style lunch. Made a tuna sandwich. And some cheese fell on it and some mayonnaise Confused not sure how that happened...
Trying not to climb into the biscuit barrel this afternoon

menthollyinsane · 17/04/2020 13:48

@KTD27 stay away from the evil biscuit barrel. Stay away, social distance yourself from the evil fucker.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 17/04/2020 13:51

Single parent of 6, @diege?! Hats off to you, lockdown must be tough.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 17/04/2020 14:00

Avoided the soup trap by finding a small portion of leftover pie filling and roasted baby potatoes. Probably not as low cal as the soup would’ve been but I would almost definitely have had bread which would’ve tipped it past the leftovers. Plus the soup is canned so not as good in terms of nutrition [justification emoji]

Fedupandpoor · 17/04/2020 14:09

Managed two 24 hour fasts with just a 2 hour break in between to eat dinner and have a cup of tea. I've done well today with my own food as I've had fruit for breakfast and now a salad for lunch but I must stop picking while preparing dc food! They wanted a picnic lunch and I managed to wolf down half a bag of crisps, small slice of cheese pizza and several cubes of cheddar before I even realised what was happening Blush

I've managed to stop eating the leftovers by scraping them straight into a plastic tub for the dogs. I might have to stick a mirror tile on the kitchen sides to catch myself in the act.

diege · 17/04/2020 14:22

Thanks Jonhamm . Yes tough on my own with 6 dcs I'll admit. I was widowed in 2016 so has been a slog these last few years, with a real crisis 18 months ago that derailed my life let alone my eating habits (that's another thread!).
fedup I'm liking your style! I'm also craving pizza now! I remember clutching my pearls at SW when people said they squirted washing up liquid over leftovers but can see how it might work in desperate times!
So, I did succumb to 4 cream egg Easter eggs just now in Sainsbury's local(64p each!!) alongside my bread, milk and cat food. I have stashed the little eggs and divided the chocolate between the dcs. What a good mother I am! 🤣

bluerad · 17/04/2020 14:35

@menthollyinsane you have my sympathy with your hoover. I once hoovered up a 'leaf' which turned out to be cat poo. Took me hours to clean the dyson using rubber gloves, lots of disinfectant, old toothbrush and cotton buds. Even then I was certain whenever I used it I could smell it. Had to replace it eventually.

menthollyinsane · 17/04/2020 14:37

@bluerad thanks for your sympathy. I confess it's still in the shed while I formulate a plan. I really miss it 💩

Hope it's OK to still join. I've put my weight on the spreadsheet. Love a good spreadsheet. I'm 2.5 stone heavier than I was 15 months ago. I blame a broken heart, and stress at work for my tubbiness. And add to that the lockdown and I just can't stop eating. Not even hungry but still eat.

However, with you good people I hope to lose it forthwith. Really pleased I found you just at the right time.

I'm bursting out of my jeans at present. It's difficult to rip denim at the best of times but my arse can manage it no problem.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 17/04/2020 16:23

@diege, I’m sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough few years.

Onthebrink67 · 17/04/2020 17:10

diege sorry to hear about the rough time you’ve had. Had a better day good wise though have just peeled a mountain of potatoes for mash for tea 😳 one thing I’ve noticed is that I’m craving peanut butter etc which is normally a sign I’m anaemic so I’ve restarted by supplements to see if that helps.
