cricketmum84 · 29/02/2020 12:03

Hello everyone and welcome to the March edition! The plan is to lose 7lbs or 3kg this month!

All are welcome whether you are a regular, newbie, lurker, returning member... all I ask for is the amazing positivity and encouragement I have seen on every thread so far. You guys have been incredible!

I am following ww blue plan and very low carbing. There's a good mix of different methods on here though :)

Previous thread here is anyone wants to look back: Lose 7lbs/3kg per month! The February edition! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3810787-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-the-february-edition

My stats are:
Starting weight (Dec 18) 25st 2lbs
Current weight: 18st 4lbs
Loss so far: 6st 12lbs
Loss for Feb: 6lbs (just missed target 😢)
Target for March: 10lbs so 17st 8lbs

We can do this people!!! Who's with me???

Morning all. Back on it here although had a few problems at the supermarket in terms of supplies. Yesterday's food was a piece of cheese and a few pecan nuts. Sirloin steak and stir fry for dinner. I don't have a plan yet for today but likely to be bacon and egg for lunch and pork chop with green veg for dinner.
@MotherOfDragonite you are doing amazingly well. My loss for the month so far is a measly 0.25lbs so I'm hoping to improve over the next 2 weeks so that I can record at least 3 or 4 lbs loss for March.

JessJonesJumps · 18/03/2020 11:37

Scon I'm very impressed with your commitment to exercising. I need to get into a proper routine for self-isolating. With the 3 of us at home, it's too easy to get distracted and let stuff slip. DH went to the shops at 6am because we couldn't get our usual delivery. It was quite entertaining seeing what he buys when left to his own devices and faced with limited choice Grin

No idea what I weigh because the scales are playing up. Lots of error and cancel messages so I'm either up 2lb or down 1lb. I'll try again tomorrow.

Sending lots of happy and healthy vibes to everyone Flowers

Hey everyone! Sorry for late post. I've been in COVID-19 work meetings since 8am!

Haven't eaten yet but gonna grab some veggie sticks and hummous before my next call at 1. Dinner is my lovely spiralised courgette with a little veggie pesto and reduced fat creme fraiche! It's my new favourite meal!

I'll catch up with the thread properly when I finish up later today. Sorry it's just a bit of a manic one for me!

P.s - managed my half hour walk though :)

More power to you @cricketmum84 sounds so hectic!

I feel similar about exercise, I mainly do it at home anyway but when the DCs are out, and I like to walk as much as I can which is hard to do now as we’re in whole household isolation for the foreseeable (12 weeks? Don’t really know tbh!). I know gov said you can get out to exercise, but not yet reached the confidence to go for a brisk walk. I live in the inner city and it’s still quite busy around here, DH has been joking about getting a 2 metre stick to tell people to stay back Grin might do a night dash to the post box though to post Mother’s Day cards! Looking at how to make the most of our little patio for the DCs, only day 2 and they’re already bouncing around the place haha.

So far so good, weight still going down, let’s see how we go. KOKO everyone and keep well!

GetTheStartyParted · 18/03/2020 18:22

Diet is going ok here still, DS is home for aaaaages now though so let's see what happens! I'm still working and DH too so may be hectic. I have swapped my work hours so I'm going to be starting at 3am Hmm but also have extra shifts. My uni work may suffer, just hope my weight loss doesn't.
Just had a lovely steak with mushrooms and creamed cabbage for dinner, yum.

I'm taking on board little snippets of what you self isolators are up to, I can imagine my turn will arrive shortly. KOKO Brew

cricketmum84 · 19/03/2020 08:15

3am starts @GetTheStartyParted! Ouch!

Day 6 of self isolation here and I am about to go insane. Stayed up late last night and feel a bit groggy this morning. Still 18.2 today but not surprised as I had a couple of glasses of wine and had pasta instead of the planned courgette.

Plan for today is:
B - lots of water and maybe a few black coffees!!
L - hummous and celery sticks
D - LM sausages and some roasted veg, maybe a baked sweet potato
Half hour walk at lunchtime

Hope all is well with everyone!

Good morning @cricketmum84 the food plan sounds good and occasional vino is a good treat Flowers

I’m beyond excited today because finally my scales are showing a loss. I’m at 79.7 kg and that brings me under 80 kg due the first time. I’m not sure what I’ve lost this month so far as scales were all over the place, but I think I’ve probably lost around 8 kg since me and dp started all this in December.

Seeing a loss just makes all the good strictness feel worth it and is a good reminder to me that I can still lose despite the odd small and occasional splurge, provided I just am careful the week following.

Onceuponatimethen · 19/03/2020 08:31

Food strictness I meant there

recklessgran · 19/03/2020 08:37

Morning. Weight back down today so now I'm the same as the day we went on holiday. No food plan yet as I'm trying to eke out my supplies so will have to think hard and meal plan a bit more efficiently. DH and I are going to start going out for an evening walk as we are trying to distance ourselves socially to a certain extent further to advice from DD4. It's going to be an unusually quiet time for everyone but I intend to use it to stay on this weight loss wagon. Work is quiet which I think is a reflection of what's going on. Might do some more decorating and we need to treat the shed and fences plus plenty to do in the garden so hope all this activity will help the weight. Hope everyone is doing O.K.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 19/03/2020 08:57

I had a midnight feast last night. Finally worked out that I have a chest infection - the symptoms were obvious but I wasn't thinking straight and DH was insistent it was you-know-what. He is a hypochondriac, a catastrophiser and a scare-mongerer.
Anyhoo, I decided it wasn't the time to diet so had a big bowl of muesli. Didn't get any sleep.
Anyone know any good jokes?

cricketmum84 · 19/03/2020 09:42

@KedsAndTubeSocks

What's white and can't climb trees?

MotherOfDragonite · 19/03/2020 21:27

Gosh, this escalated quickly Grin

lboogy · 20/03/2020 04:55

Morning all. Ive been stuck at 75kg for over a month. I figured to kick start by body into doing something I've been on a cabbage soup diet for the last 4 days. It's a 7-10 day plan. I've had a couple of wobblers - not massive, one bar of kitkat chunky and a handful of crisps. I've lost 1lb / .5kg for my efforts. I want to swear. Weirdly I'm not hungry but I'm still disappointed especially as I've been jogging 2 times this week

recklessgran · 20/03/2020 09:10

Morning. Still cracking on here. Total loss so far this month is 1 whole pound. Well I guess a pound is a pound and still in the right direction. We are preparing to lock down here with DD1 as she is very vulnerable - taking the advice of DD4. DD's 2,3,4,and 5 and adult DGS have created a Whatsapp group to discuss "locking up the parents and DD1"
Will be trying to get some groceries today. [My day off]. Trying not to let this thing derail my efforts but feel a bit distracted. Hoping it's not just me that's feeling a bit worried. [Understatement!]

Onceuponatimethen · 20/03/2020 09:12

@Iboogy you might be about to see a loss - I was stuck for ages and then got a good loss - just seemed to take a week for the weight to drop.

Your plan sounds good!

Onceuponatimethen · 20/03/2020 09:18

Just reporting in for dp who I’m reading the thread out to as part of our mutual support plan Grin

Dp has finally also seen a loss having plateaued for a bit and is at 89 kg now. He was pleased but then he checked on the nhs site how much of his body weight he still needs to lose and it said at least 5kg. So then he felt like he still had quite a way to go but I’m telling him how amazing he’s already done - go dp!

Onceuponatimethen · 20/03/2020 09:27

Food plan today for me:

Brek - Grapefruit
Lunch - one of dc’s birthdays so we are having a few special bits including cupcakes and I will eat a bit to join in
Dinner - dc’s choice due to birthday - sausages, mash and broccoli (not massively diet friendly)

Good luck with health today everyone - hope we are all staying well

JessJonesJumps · 20/03/2020 11:06

Well done once 's DP!

My scales are still jumping all over and giving error messages so not sure what I weigh. Although I did open a box of chocolates yesterday so I'm guessing I'm probably up.

Feeling lousy this morning because my cold has come back. Also thinking I am going to lock either myself or DH in the attic before this self-isolation period is up.

SconNotScone · 20/03/2020 17:36

I’ve had a rubbish week! No gym, and my best intentions to exercise at home have gone out the window. I have also fallen off the diet wagon! Thankfully the damage hasn’t been dreadful, I have stayed the same! Really would like to get back on it, worrying a bit about how next week will go, with us at home almost the whole time, but we’ll see!
