Hello everyone and welcome to the March edition! The plan is to lose 7lbs or 3kg this month!

All are welcome whether you are a regular, newbie, lurker, returning member... all I ask for is the amazing positivity and encouragement I have seen on every thread so far. You guys have been incredible!

I am following ww blue plan and very low carbing. There's a good mix of different methods on here though :)

Previous thread here is anyone wants to look back: Lose 7lbs/3kg per month! The February edition! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3810787-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-the-february-edition

My stats are:
Starting weight (Dec 18) 25st 2lbs
Current weight: 18st 4lbs
Loss so far: 6st 12lbs
Loss for Feb: 6lbs (just missed target 😢)

We can do this people!!! Who's with me???

Good morning all, so official Sunday weigh in has me at 9st 11lb this morning.....

That means I've lost a stone since starting on 6th January, although only 1lb of it so far in March!! I'm wondering if my body feels it should naturally weigh around 10st and that's why progress has slowed so much, although I'm a short-arse so that still gives me a relatively high BMI.

Anyway, I'm celebrating the stone today and will refocus tomorrow for the week, lack of exercise is definitely a factor so going to up that this week where I can.

Have a great day Smile

ploughingthrough · 15/03/2020 09:50

Congrats @ValentineFizz on reaching a stone that's awesome

Onceuponatimethen · 15/03/2020 10:05

Wow @ploughingthrough that’s a good loss - 2.5kg is really significant

ploughingthrough · 15/03/2020 10:08

Thanks all. In the last few days people have commented on my weight loss so I think it's finally starting to show. Just got to try and lose the last little bit now...

Onceuponatimethen · 15/03/2020 10:45

That’s a really nice feeling isn’t it @ploughingthrough when people actually start to say a few things and you think finally it’s actually visible!!

Onceuponatimethen · 15/03/2020 10:49

Today’s food plan is:

Breakfast - one small slice toast with cheese (I’m supposed to be on a relatively high calcium diet and just realised maybe I should put some calcium back in!), scrambled eggs.

Lunch - just grapefruit

Dinner - will be left over Spag Bol and broccoli

cricketmum84 · 15/03/2020 11:00

Morning all! Still feeling rubbish today. Sore throat and fever means I'm struggling to eat although that hasn't reflected on the scales yet!

Amazing loss @ploughingthrough! Especially as we are still only halfway through the month!

Congrats on reaching a stone loss @ValentineFizz. The milestones are always such a good feeling!

My plan for today is:
B - just had lots of water and 2 paracetamol 😂
L - avocado again. I'm still within points though and just enjoy it so much
D - cauliflower roasted in garam masala with whole plum tomatoes. Sounds weird but I love it!

Good morning all, thank you MotherofDragonite and ploughingthrough and 2.5 kg this month is a fantastic loss ploughingthrough.
The hungry feelings continued on from Wednesday and finally stopped yesterday lunchtime, so this week has felt really hard and the numbers on the scale continued to yoyo but I was down yesterday and today so weighing in today at 12st 7.2lbs a loss of 3.2lbs for the month. This means I have lost 25% of my start weight and in a fit of optimism I measured my waist and it is an inch smaller so that is 7.5 inches since mid October. Feeling very motivated today Smile

Onceuponatimethen · 15/03/2020 12:54

@Tryingtwo that’s really good - 25% is excellent!

@cricketmum84 I hope you get better properly soon. I think that cauli sounds amazing - could quite fancy a bit of that myself!

SconNotScone · 15/03/2020 13:45

Congrats @ploughingthrough , @Tryingtwo and @ValentineFizz!

Today is already a bit of a write-off for me unfortunately. I’m at work and there is loads of snacky stuff in. Sunday’s at work are insanely boring, and I have totally boredom eaten! Will claw it back with very sensible dinner and trip to the gym tonight.

Ecci · 15/03/2020 20:44

2.6 lbs down this week, really pleased. @Tryingtwo really impressive loss, congrats.

MotherOfDragonite · 15/03/2020 22:50

Well, I had a rather food-filled day.

Made the most lush salad for lunch: chickpeas (3pp), tomatoes, cucumber, light feta (2pp), Kalamata olives in brine (1pp), quarter avocado (2pp), vinegar, lemon juice, Tabasco sauce, half a teaspoon of olive oil (1pp and could have done without this). It was divine! Would have been even better with fresh basil. A real treat of a meal.

Boring dinner. And I made banana bread! It was accidentally fat-free (I forgot the butter, although the recipe didn't call for much as it was low-fat) and it came out perfectly, so I'll use the same trick next time.

Unsurprisingly, I still feel that isolation is going to be challenging for my weight loss!

Can anyone recommend any good online exercise videos? Something gentle, for beginners?!

SconNotScone · 15/03/2020 23:18

@MotherOfDragonite I used to enjoy doing the Pop Sugar videos on YouTube. If you go on and search “pop sugar beginner” lots of options come up. The instructor is Anna Renderer, who seems quite sweet and genuine. Good luck!

SconNotScone · 15/03/2020 23:19

So. Would love to know your accidental fat-free banana bread recipe if you wouldn’t mind sharing please?!

SconNotScone · 15/03/2020 23:19

That should say “ps.” Not a rather demanding “So!”

cricketmum84 · 16/03/2020 07:48

I would love the banana bread recipe too :) I have 3 overripe bananas that need using up today.

Well littlest DD has started with sore throat and temp this morning. I'm keeping her off today but not sure about the rest of the week. I suppose it depends on if she starts with a cough at all? If it's just sore throat then it's probably just the start of a cold.

Down to 18.2 this morning! Slowly creeping back down again. I desperately want to be in the 17s!! (Well I want to be in the 12s but the 17s will keep me happy for now!)

Plan for today is:
B - egg breakfast muffins
L - mushroom omelette and salad
D - cauliflower biryani (totally fat free and really easy to make - you just chuck everything in a casserole dish or slow cooker)

Have a lovely Monday everyone!

Ahhh Sad only 1lb lost this week.

Feel like I self sabotaged though, joined in with a family takeaway yesterday. Made the best choices I could but they must not have been keto as I had stomachache all night. Will drink lots of water today and only have a light lunch as I'm so uncomfortable. That will teach me. First takeaway in 7 weeks and definitely not worth it.

Hope your DD feels better soon @cricketmum84 and you're so close to the 17's! Well done @Tryingtwo @Ecci and anyone I missed Star

cricketmum84 · 16/03/2020 08:26

Oh and NSV - I found tights that fit. In a medium from simply be!! And have been wearing dresses with tights instead of leggings. I feel so much more ladylike in tights :)

OP posts:
cricketmum84 · 16/03/2020 08:29

I always feel the same after a takeaway @GetTheStartyParted. I really look forward to it but then it's never as good as I hoped lol! I stick to the sw and ww fakeaway recipes now. 1lb loss isn't bad, you're still heading in the right direction! Xx

GetTheStartyParted · 16/03/2020 08:39

Thanks, will make it easier to say no next time i guess! Should have started my period two days ago, according to my app, they are always unreliable but that would also contribute to a slow loss. Trying to stay positive!

Yay for tights too Grin

Onceuponatimethen · 16/03/2020 08:47

@cricketmum84 I love anything in a medium - brilliant

Food plans today:

B - one slice toast (as dp had already made it)
L - Fish medley thing (doing a fish pie mix plain in parchment parcel)
D - lasagne leftovers but I’m going to have w very small portion

beforeihit30 · 16/03/2020 10:20

Great @cricketmum84! And how you feel is so important. I always feel better in tights, compared with leggings also bare legs. I’m a tights fan Grin

Ah we all have those moments @GetTheStartyParted especially when you make a big change like keto, you really notice the difference in how you feel if you eat things like takeaway. I remember getting fish and chips some months after going keto and I felt both sick and also ridiculously tired! But it will pass. I find these days I just don’t fancy other stuff, we used to get regular takeaway but I honestly can’t remember the last time we did and we enjoy everything we eat.

Feeling so much improved but still on the ABs so eating is confined to certain windows, so feeling like I’m doing IF unintentionally - had one meal yesterday, not deliberate just wasn’t organised enough to get my timings right! So at least I know I’m not eating too much.

Tryingtwo · 16/03/2020 10:20

Good morning all. Just a quick check in, back up by 0.6lbs today but whilst I stuck to plan food wise I forgot to drink my water, only managing about 1.5 pints and most of that was after dinner.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 16/03/2020 12:33

Quick check-in, sorry I don't have time to chat this morning. I'm getting complacent since my weight got down to 69.9kg. Don't know how it has stayed under 70 kg with the amount of crap I've been eating - I even went to Creams at the week-end! I also have a cold so just want to comfort-eat carbs. Sad
Good luck everyone - stay safe!

MotherOfDragonite · 16/03/2020 13:46

@cricketmum84 and @SconNotScone, this is the banana bread recipe that I adapted: tastesbetterfromscratch.com/skinny-banana-bread/

I forgot the butter completely, so I made the recipe without stirring it in at the end. I used 4 and a half very ripe bananas instead of three. I also used 4 tablespoons of light brown sugar rather than the 5 tablespoons of two kinds of sugar suggested. However next time I will try using Sukrin Gold.

I lined the loaf tin with baking paper in order to avoid greasing it. This worked well.

As I made it (reducing sugar from 5 to 4 tablespoons, omitting butter) it worked out at 3pp per slice (WeightWatchers) when sliced into 12 generous slices! Yum!
