Morning, thought I would start a new thread for March as it has been such a good thread again in February. I think the supportive atmosphere really helps us all. I'm hoping to be dead on 9stone by the end of March, currently 9st3.25 (total loss of 8 pounds).

winterisstillcoming · 02/03/2020 19:46

I'm in too! Lost 8 lb before Christmas and put 2 back on.

Let's do this !

Octopus37 · 02/03/2020 20:08

Welcome to the new people.
Not such a good food day today cause of being unwell and wanting carbs:
Breakfast - 1 Cereal bar
Lunch - Crust of seeded bread with 1 mini babybel light
Dinner - Small portion of pasta (just a few mouthfuls)
Some fruit crumble
Snacks - 6 lemon puff biscuits

Planning on business as usual tomorrow.

I've had a good day but serving up brownies and.tea cakes to visitors after dinner felt fairly tough and I felt a bit hard done by Hmm but anyway finished up on track and with 17000 steps clocked up so very pleased with that.

Looking to tomorrow
Breakfast: ONO
Lunch: ratatouille, halloumi and salad mountain
Snack: Chopped apple and tbsp peanut butter
Dinner: chicken or omelette.

Have a good day! It's a big one for me workwise so hope it goes OK!

Twixes · 02/03/2020 22:11

Thanks @Heygirlheyboy and @Porpoises it's good to be back!

I did well today, weighed my dinner as promised and only came to 395!

In total today I ate 1186 calories and did a spinning class. I'm feeling a bit peckish now so I might have a small portion of Greek yoghurt to help me sleep.

Hello newbies Smile

NotEvenTheKing · 02/03/2020 22:45

Thanks for the welcome.

I've done ok today.

Soup for lunch. And also a packet of crisps. Literally can't help myself.
Chicken and tomato pasta with a bit of cheese for dinner. Left the room when dp got the ice cream out. Had a clementine instead.
Accidentally ate a penguin after lunch.

Trying really hard to ignore the fibre one bars dp has just bought for me ...

Aiming for no crisps or penguins tomorrow. It's food delivery day which means I'll have my lovely 28 cal marmite rice cakes for snacks.

NotEvenTheKing · 02/03/2020 22:45

Oh, also walked about 4 miles and did 20 minutes of yoga.

Porpoises · 02/03/2020 23:12

No snacks from the snack table :) Walked around a reasonable amount.

Evening food not v healthy but that's often the case on Mondays, I try to squeeze in too many activities and eat on the go. Not sure if there's a solution or if I should just roll with it.

TheHoundsofLove · 03/03/2020 06:17

You make a good point about intuitive eating Porpoises . But, I would say that it's worked well for you Twixes in that you have maintained your weight. I think it's probably quite difficult to lose weight without extra parameters, especially when you don't have much to lose. I suppose that I eat pretty intuitively, but don't think I'd have lost anything without fasting alongside it.

everycowandagain · 03/03/2020 08:13

Agree TheHounds, if 'intuitive eating' works for maintenance then that's good @Twixes I would have to be less intuitive and more focused to see a loss.

Have settled at 131.2 which is my low, past few days I guess I have also been intuitively maintaining which, with work stress and lack of sleep with coldy DS, is a good result for me. Am still following Jordan Syatt for his good no nonsense weight loss approach. Would recommend him to the newbies!!

Trying to get a couple more gym sessions in before leaving for hols tomorrow evening, although I may struggle to get them in.

Have a good day all!

Patchworksack · 03/03/2020 08:22

Hi winter and noteventheking
I'm going running this morning so should be a good day steps-wise. Have a good day, everyone!

Porpoises · 03/03/2020 08:46

@everycowandagain and @TheHoundsofLove, very good points, maintaance is still good and maybe it's unrealistic to expect to lose with intuitive eating. Are there any studies on intuitive eating? I love the idea of it but would be good to know if there is science behind it.

everycowandagain · 03/03/2020 10:37

I haven't seen any science @Porpoises but am totally with you on the unnatural eating environment.

This sustained period of consistent focus on better food habits has shown me that I had got way too reliant on cereal bars. I am now eating so much more fruit and vegetables, which also helps stretch my 1500 calories across the day!

Twixes · 03/03/2020 11:47

@TheHoundsofLove and @everycowandagain yeah I suppose you're right it's not like I was gorging myself with food or anything. I basically just stopped tracking!

Tuesdays are tricky for me because I work odd hours but here's the plan:

Breakfast: skimmed milk coffee 85
Mid-morning: enormous banana 145
lunch: soup and mini bread roll with butter 371
late afternoon: lidl mediterranean salad 320

and then when I get in from work I need to have the tiniest dinner ever as I'll have only 280 left. I'll weigh it and see how I get on.

TheHoundsofLove · 03/03/2020 13:19

Hope everyone is having a good day.
I'm fasting today, so have got Lentil and Gruyere Soup and a Kase Bretzel for dinner today.
One thing I've really started to notice is how much more I feel the cold since losing weight - I definitely need an extra layer and am still a bit cold even then. Has anyone else noticed the same?

Mommy97 · 03/03/2020 14:02

Hi I'm starting now, need to lose about 2 stone in 5 months, definitely doable

Twixes · 03/03/2020 15:33

@TheHoundsofLove that happens to me when I lose weight! Like a whale when I lose the blubber I get cold Grin

TheHoundsofLove · 03/03/2020 15:48

Well exactly Twixes ! Grin

Heygirlheyboy · 03/03/2020 16:02

I am usually radiator warm and yes I've been freezing, layers the whole time.

everycowandagain · 03/03/2020 19:22

One of the Jordan Syatt YouTube videos about how you know if you are in a calorie deficit did mention feeling cold as a sign!!

Heygirlheyboy · 03/03/2020 19:29

No way, I actually had joked that's why I was cold! Brilliant. I'm under my paltry 1280 somehow despite v satisfying food day - I had sweet chilli hicken and veg stirfry no noodles and rest of day as planned - but think will remain under if not peckish.

TheHoundsofLove · 03/03/2020 19:33

Glad it's not just me! I've been freezing all day and haven't really been able to warm up.

Heygirlheyboy · 03/03/2020 19:50

By the way we don't mention it enough but water intake so inportant and definitely helps.

Octopus37 · 03/03/2020 20:01

I'm the same about being cold, even though I have started the peri. Sitting here with my dressing gown over my clothes and the heating on which is typical. Still not feeling good, so a bit funny about food. Have eaten:

Breakfast - 2 oatckeas (266)
Lunch - Some fruit crumble (500) at the most
Snack - A bag of Salt & Vinegar Golden Wonder (186)
Dinner - Tesco Chicken and Vegetable Soup (236)
Nature Valley Bar (195)
Calories 1,383 so not too bad Still weighed 9st1.75 this morning.
