Morning, thought I would start a new thread for March as it has been such a good thread again in February. I think the supportive atmosphere really helps us all. I'm hoping to be dead on 9stone by the end of March, currently 9st3.25 (total loss of 8 pounds).

Morning everyone. Still processing the news, although I've been mostly living that way for the last week anyway, so not much immediate change. Feels confining though. Really hope the government get their act together on testing so we can get this back under control.

It's the anniversary of a good friend's death today. So it's extra tough. And we can't gather today to remember him together as originally planned. He would understand of course, he was a scientist, and he would probably have some great jokes to cheer us all up. I miss him. Sad

WellErrr · 24/03/2020 07:40

Sorry to hear that Porpoises Sad

Patchworksack · 24/03/2020 08:04

9st1lb.Who knew that all I needed was the threat of impending apocalypse?? I have a horrible sick feeling in the pit of my stomach all the time.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 24/03/2020 08:29

Morning all, I hope you are all ok and not freaking out too much. I've been trying to think of self care things too. I've been waking up really early worrying and taking the opportunity to go for a walk while it's quiet and that helps a bit. In the past doing yoga YouTube videos has helped me out a lot, but the difficulty is actually doing them rather than having wine/gin/ a whole packet of Jaffa cakes.
Well done to everyone who's lost some weight and everyone who's managed to post, I think the accountability is good. Had a good day food wise yesterday, but have now run out of fresh veg. Will be trying my best today.

TheHoundsofLove · 24/03/2020 09:52

Well You're right on the rationing front and the bonus is that popping out for chocolate or biscuits is now highly inappropriate! Grin
Porpoises I'm sorry. Flowers
Patchwork So do I - it's a really horrible time.
Iggle Yes, yoga is great - I follow Adrienne on Youtube and she has added loads of calming workouts especially for this time.
Hey Keep going!
Stop The self-care thing is hard. I'm hand sewing a patchwork quilt and find it really relaxing to do 20 minutes or so. I've been sewing it for at least a year and it's still tiny - maybe it'll actually end up king-sized by the end of all this! Grin
Octopus All things considered, I think you should count that as a success. Wink
I got up early and went for a run this morning - it's a beautiful blue sky and it was just lovely to hear the birds and see the blossom everywhere.
I really do hope that you all have a peaceful day and find some calm in all of this.

winterisstillcoming · 24/03/2020 09:59

Things that lift me up are: a good walk, a long hot bath with a glass of something. Uninterrupted sleep, alone. A chat with a friend on the phone. Reading.

I've got that horrible churning stomach feeling right now too. Oh well saves on food.

Octopus37 · 24/03/2020 15:23

Winters I agree, all those things are a real lift. I went out for a dog walk (my rationed exercise) this morning which helped. Porpoises, sorry to hear that, anniversaries are hard.9st1.5 this morning. Hope that everyone is managing to stay as calm as they can

EndlessUserName · 24/03/2020 18:46

@Porpoises sorry to hear that

@Patchworksack feeling exactly the same! I always thought I ate when feeling stressed, guess I've just never been this stressed for this long before!! Silver linings and all that...?!

Also hope noone minds as I know you don't really know me, I tend to make jokes when I'm upset!

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket I love the early walk idea I might try sitting in the garden then, as I'm waking early too

Hmm I like the sewing idea too - I can't sew but it reminded me that I have a mindfulness colouring book that I could do

Keep safe everyone x

WellErrr · 24/03/2020 20:17

Ok day today. It’s so hard starting again though!

B - porridge (177)
L - Tesco low cal mushroom risotto (339) apple (51)
D - chicken fajita (456)

S - cup of tea (40), Cadbury’s animal biscuits (96), banana (81), granola and yogurt (155)

That’s 372 calories worth of snacks 😱 that may be where I’m going wrong.
Total was 1395 though but I think bigger meals and less snacks might well help.

Quarantine is ok so far. Luckily we live on a farm so the kids haven’t really noticed anything apart from not going to school, and I really do know how lucky we are.
I’m trying to see the positives in it all, less pollution, more time together etc. Let’s see how long that lasts 😂

How’s everyone’s day been?

WellErrr · 24/03/2020 20:18

I’ll weigh in tomorrow. I was 8st7 when I left. I know I’m nowhere near that now 😭😭😭

winterisstillcoming · 24/03/2020 21:07

Slashed my tyres today . Oh well let's move on.

If you can't sew @stopfundinghate, try a cross stitch kit. Really easy and really relaxing.

Stay safe and stay good!

WellErrr · 24/03/2020 21:15

Slashed your tyres!? 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

I second the cross stitch suggestion though. I love cross stitch!!

Heygirlheyboy · 25/03/2020 08:46

Sorry to hear that Porpoises Thinking of you.

I am still on a slippery slope but going to list the positives too! Mainlining hot water and lemon, three decent meals yesterday: greek yoghurt with berries and chopped almonds, omlette with avocado, tomatoes and salad, roast chicken, carrots and small roastie. 10k steps.

Chocolate intake: too high. It's my dad's house that's the danger zone!! I will not give up!! Going to do joe wicks kids @9.

TheHoundsofLove · 25/03/2020 12:02

Hope you enjoyed PE with Joe Hey - my son and I did it this morning and it was a decent little workout!

Octopus37 · 25/03/2020 16:00

Sounds as if you are doing well Heygirl. Have been eating chocolate for lunch. Have just had my 7 almonds to take me through till dinner, as I was starting to feel as if I could eat the house, not a good idea when you’ve hot to stay home

OP posts:
WellErrr · 25/03/2020 18:43

Bad day for me today. Ate my Easter egg 😂😭🤦🏻‍♀️

Better tomorrow. It needs to be, were rationing food 😭

Porpoises · 25/03/2020 21:26

Still staying relatively on the straight and narrow, mostly by not having junk food in the house.

Breakfast - porridge with a little golden syrup
Snack - toast (breakfast too small)
Lunch - half a mushroom and cabbage omelette, leftover rice-and-veg dish, cucumber, lettuce. Yoghurt, banana, honey
Snack - satsuma
Dinner - sausages, mash, cabbage
Exercise- carrying shopping up the hill. Not quite enough really.

WellErrr · 26/03/2020 05:55

I’ve got a good day planned today - and I WILL stick to it!

I was 8st7.5.....I’m now 8st11. Or was yesterday morning. I must stress again that I have a v small frame and I’m short!

I WILL get back to 8st7! Can’t decide if lockdown will help or not - hoping it will help, as I can’t nip out for treats or have meals out, and I’m worried we’ll run out of food, there are 6 of us in the house 😭

Porpoises · 26/03/2020 08:11

Sounds good WellErr.

Hope you all have a good day.

Octopus37 · 26/03/2020 08:39

Well done everyone, such weird times. WellErr your menu sounds great, as does yours Porpoises. 9st thus morning, putting it down to starting a heavy period. Is everyone going to go outside later and clap for the NHS workers?

OP posts:
Heygirlheyboy · 26/03/2020 10:03

Hi all, hope you're all good today. Wellerr you'll sort that gain quickly I'm sure, I know what you mean re small frame and height, I'm the same. I started the day with a 20min run, my first in months and I really feel great after it! Around 4k not much but a good start after a long break, doing that three times a week would help me I know! Lovely shower, body moisturise etc after all positive self care! Also having plenty of early nights to up the sleep. I will weigh tomorrow. My fitbit has shown me how little I move unless I actually make a point of exercising so the idea of burning 2k cal, as per guidelines is way off, for me anyway. Keep on keeping on!

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 26/03/2020 20:14

Hi all, well done for sticking with it. I've had a mixed couple of days. I've lost my sense of smell and therefore most of my sense of taste, so I shouldn't really be finding it this hard. My dds birthday yesterday so there was cake. We'll see how things have gone on Saturday when I weigh in.
Today:
B. Crunchy nut cornflakes
S. Birthday cake
L. Hummus & salad
S. Nakd bar
D. Chicken nuggets, broccoli, one potato waffle
S. Out of date beer

...looks bad when you write it all down!!

Heygirlheyboy · 26/03/2020 20:59

I'm not great but not dreadful
Porridge and banana
Two small slices homemade soda bread
Small apple
Handful almonds
Cornetto!
4 wholewheat crackers
Cheddar cheese 30g
Grapes
One slice pizza.
13000 steps.

WellErrr · 27/03/2020 06:28

Rubbish day for me yesterday, I’m not going to log it here 😂
8st11 on the scales now.

Today is a new day though, and I have a 4 mile walk planned with the kids (on the farm, I’m not going out!) and lots of work in the garden to do. Plus we’re running out of food and I finished my Easter egg so that’s got to help yeah?? 😂

Here’s to another day, onwards and downwards everyone!

Octopus37 · 27/03/2020 08:36

Heygirl that sounds like a really good day. Are loads yesterday, 9st0.75 this morning, my aim was 9 by the end of March. Aiming to do more indoor exercise today. WellErr know what you mean about the small frame thing, except a I’ve always thought that I should be able to carry wright better than I do cause a I’m 5ft5 do average height. Onwards and downwards, these are wierd times
