Hello lovely losers!

Morning - I’ve rebooted and dusted down MFP. I haven’t used it in years but having totted up breakfast after I’d eaten it, I understand that it’s going to to be a very necessary tool for me. I’ve consumed about 1/3 of my recommended daily calories already.

I’m still undecided as to whether I’ll weigh myself daily or weekly. It can fluctuate a lot and have a disproportionate impact on my mood!

Vebrithien · 03/01/2020 08:45

Morning all,
Cricket and everyone else, thank you for your kind messages. I hope that I've not upset anyone, what with this not being a pregnancy/miscarriage thread, but it is such an integral part of my weight loss pathway.
I'm in the throes of morning sickness right now (it's a good sign, right?), so am going to keep it simple today.
Cereal for breakfast, banana and some crackers for lunch and soup (bean and lentil) for dinner. I've also got my booking in appointment tonight, and for once I'm not terrified of the weighing bit.
Hope you all have a good day.

TimesAreHardForDreamers · 03/01/2020 08:50

Haven't had a chance to catch up since new years day!
Starting weight- 12 stone 3

I'll be doing a bit of mfp and cutting down portions, and I've got lots of new books and lovely crafts to do in the evening to hopefully stop me snacking on the sofa.
I hurt my foot dancing at a new years eve party 🤭 so can't get back on my exercise bike just yet

Ihatesundays · 03/01/2020 09:11

I dreamt I was 71.7kg - I wasn’t, I’m 72.2kg. What a disappointment....

WoollyFoolly · 03/01/2020 09:25

@Piixxiiee, I was a terrible evening snacker and have been doing 16:8 and find it works really really well for me. I don't eat in the morning until 11ish or later. Usually have a small lunch and a normal evening meal so I'm nice and full in the evening. Then I just.don't.snack. I find the all-or-nothing nature of it quite helpful, it's easier for me to just not eat any biscuits for example than to eat one and stop! I'd still give it a go if you can!

7Worfs · 03/01/2020 09:31

Piixxiiee I eased into fasting with 14:10 at first, then 15:9, now I can finally fast 16-17 hours.
It was hard for a few weeks, and the first 4-5 hours of the fast are the most difficult, as hunger rears it’s head. In the morning I don’t feel hunger, just a bit of weakness.

0.1kg lighter than yesterday, and still got a cold. No idea what I’ll be eating today. 🤒

Piixxiiee · 03/01/2020 09:38

Do you all find weighing each day works or once a week?
I'm starting properly today, so is dh. Getting snacks prepared in fridge. Going to do some batch cooking today too. Dh back to work on monday and I'm starting new job the week after although have a few half days next week. Big changes for us and kids so need to be mega organized!

Piixxiiee · 03/01/2020 09:39

Not sure about fasting. I might see how I go and if no weight loss then look at it. I'm a teacher so cant snack when I want too....

JessJonesJumps · 03/01/2020 09:56

Weight watchers peeps - do you go to meetings or just use the digital version?

twobambinos · 03/01/2020 10:13

Can i join again. Grrr.

Happy new year to all hope it will be fantastic.

Starting weight 10st 3.
Goal for January back into the normal bmi category. Started this morning with a selection box packet of malteasers. Need to get a grip. Fast.

cricketmum84 · 03/01/2020 10:15

Morning all! Weighed in at 18.11 this morning so I'm 2lbs down for January already! I think my body must be in shock from the lack of cheese 😂

Stay safe @DownUdderer i can't imagine how scary it is at the moment. Especially with kids too and trying to stay normal for them.

@Vebrithien please don't worry about upsetting us. Weight loss and dieting isn't just about what we put in our mouths! And I get so much support from you guys over family issues and especially with DDS. We are all rooting for mini V!

@JessJonesJumps I'm doing online only. I hear the meetings have totally changed now and focus on wellness rather than weight. I'm just not a meeting type person though.

Plan for today is leftover chilli and brown rice for lunch (me and littlest DD are home alone today and she is already trying to tempt me into the kfc zero chicken burger! Must stay strong!!) don't have a definite recipe for dinner yet but needs to include cauliflower as it needs using up! All ideas welcome :)

Have a lovely Friday everyone!

Morning everyone, I joined here a few days ago, but I've been away with friends without bathroom scales and not much control over what I eat!
Today's weight - 12st 4 ( this is my heaviest)
Target wt- 10st 7
I've downloaded mfp and I'm going to do 16:8
I'm also trying to build in some exercise by starting jogging and lifting some home weights. I'm 51 and neeed to build some muscle up.
I've been really inspired by your weightless journeys and I'm hoping that posting on here will give me some accountability.

northernknickers · 03/01/2020 10:42

Hello...just found this!

I'll be starting Monday (currently on holiday and I'm not going to deprive myself...so 🤷‍♀️)

Stats: 14:7 (@dingledanglescarecrows snap!)
Jan target: 14

Trying The Blood Sugar Diet as I am 'at risk' of Type 2 Diabetes, my DSis is insulin dependent and my DM has diabetes and dementia.

Upupandiwent · 03/01/2020 10:52

Forgot to say, target for Jan - 11st 10
northernknickers enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Tryingtwo · 03/01/2020 10:57

Great news Vebrithien. I'm glad you posted an update and I hope everything continues to go well.
Egghead68 you look amazing, I can really see the difference. I didn't take photos at my heaviest because I was disgusted with myself, I might take some soon.
blankiefan that is a fantastic loss and in such a short time. My start weight in mid Sept was 16st 10lbs so very similar to yours but my rate of loss is much slower.

Good day yesterday, no mince pies or chocolate Smile. Ivm a daily weigher but I will post my weight on Wed & Sun. If I weigh myself everyday I do feel a bit obsessive but if I don't I tend to get very lax and oops I've gained another stone!

ValentineFizz · 03/01/2020 11:21

Hi all, newbie here hoping to join!

Starting at 10st 11lb which is heaviest I've ever been, BMI 26.7 = overweight. Target end of Jan 10st 4lb, plan to go 16:8, apply better portion control, eat less takeaway and do more more exercise! Would like to get back to 9st 7lb ultimately.

Looking forward to doing this with you all Smile

bluepixie · 03/01/2020 11:52

Afternoon. I finally managed to behave yest! So I’m back on it.
B - eggs
L-chicken and veg
D-seabass and veg
Snacks kiwi and rasberries

@Tryingtwo we sound quite similar. I have to weigh daily and Calorie count otherwise I just fall of the wagon and before I know it a 5 pound gain (like over Xmas Xmas Sad)

@Vebrithien huge congrats hope the rest of ur pregnancy goes well and well on such a huge weight loss. I had recurrent mc prior to my DS and although bmi always hovered around 25 so wasn’t too bad....it made me change my eating to the healthiest I’ve ever been...hope the sickness isn’t too bad!

My problem
Is evening snacks. I sometimes not even hungry but mindless eating after I put DS to bed. Gonna get some sugar free jelly’s to keep me busy!

recklessgran · 03/01/2020 11:53

I'm a daily weigher too but just for this first week. Frim Monday I'm going to try to resist and weigh twice a week, @cricketmum84 is there a particular day of the week when we should all update stats? [I'm in awe of your loss btw!]

recklessgran · 03/01/2020 11:56

@Cream123 I'm finding the sugar free jelly a big help too. I think they're quite expensive ready made so I've bought the sachets and find one sachet makes 4 reasonable portions. Not bad for 50p.

BettyJean · 03/01/2020 13:30

I need some help!

I’m 77.7 kgs. I need to lose 12.7 kgs to get down to a healthy weight.

Is slimming world or weight watchers best, do you think?

I will be walking park run with DD every Saturday and weather permitting doing another 5km walk every Sunday with our local ramblers. If DP has DD for the day then I will do a bigger walk on a Sunday. I can also commit to spin twice a week. I need help with my diet though.

Hoolahoophop · 03/01/2020 13:47

Hey, boomerang follower here, and on and off Dieter. New Years Eve hit a new low (or high) of 10 stone. I'm under 5ft so that awful. Lots of weight gain through emotional eating and the struggle of my almost three year old being up 5-6 times a night still.

I'm calorie counting again, maybe a bit of 5:2 will try to get some more exercise in once I've cleared my Christmas cold.

Today weighed in at 9st 12. Really hoping to be 9st 5 by the end of Jan.

Hopefully I'll be checking in every day, can get to know you all and join in supporting our weight loss journeys.

BettyJean · 03/01/2020 14:05

I’ve had two poached eggs and 2 slices of greenhalghs low gi bread today. Plus a coffee with a dash of skimmed milk. Plus water and herbal tea.

I’m making bbc good food spiced carrot and lentil soup now - missing out the milk and oil and adding some extra spice.

Have taken note of the filler soups someone mentioned above and have added a load of Tesco low fat lentil and veg soups to my order. I’m also going to drink more water and herbal tea to fill me up without adding calories.

MsTSwift · 03/01/2020 14:13

1 hour turbo and weights
B nothing
L homemade soup and ryvita
One chocolate biscuit with tea
D small portion risotto with lots of green beans
My weight has totally plateaued 🙄 but at least not gained over Christmas

JessJonesJumps · 03/01/2020 15:05

Officially I'm not starting till Monday. I need to decide between WW and SW and then between meetings and digital. But you've all inspired me so much that I've just had a nice smoked salmon salad. I've been running about to appointments this morning so I had a yoghurt in the car for breakfast, and have only now managed to find time for a salad for lunch.
BettyJean let me know what you decide between SW and WW and perhaps we can be newbie buddies?

BettyJean · 03/01/2020 15:07

@jessjonesjumps

Yes, I’d love a newby buddy! I’m going to do a bit of research on the two.
