Morning all. Managed my OMAD yesterday so salmon fillet and salad with a little salt and tiny drizzle of olive oil and a sugar free jelly afterwards that felt like a little treat. I am not doing very well yet with increasing my steps. Must try harder.
Today is my day off so out shopping and pub lunch with a g/f followed by a visit to my very elderly mother. Will try to be good at the pub and give the carbs a swerve.
@cricketmum yes, you might be wise to switch WW plans especially as you know your old plan worked for you - I joined once and followed it very carefully indeed and didn't lose an ounce. Leader was so unsupportive and said I must be cheating [I wasn't] so I left! I think what I'm trying to say is that it seems to me that there is a "diet" fit for everyone and it's just a matter of finding it. I think I have finally discovered that Keto is the one for me. I should have known all along that it would be given my carb addiction and the beautiful bread baby [currently shrinking] that I have to show for it.

Tryingtwo · 17/01/2020 09:49

Good morning, great news Vebrithien. Yay for rain in NSW Downudderer and congrats for yesterday on your 1lb loss. Cricketmum84 I hope you get a chance to relax and unwind this weekend. Hope you feel better soon ihatesundays. Great losses AdventureTravelDreamer and Ecci
Another 0.4lbs down, creeping in the right direction.

KnucklesMcGinty · 17/01/2020 10:01

@recklessgran how do you do OMAD? Do you eat literally nothing until your meal time? Or do you have some fruit etc earlier? I don't think I could eat a full meal on a completely empty stomach.

recklessgran · 17/01/2020 10:14

@Knuckles I only do it 2 days a week so roughly speaking I am doing Keto 5;2 if you see what I mean. No, I eat nothing at all before but do drink 2 litres of water. I put a fresh bottle in the fridge door each morning and know that needs to be gone by 6.00pm. I sometimes have a black coffee if I feel I need it but otherwise stick to water. I know it's pretty extreme but at last I've found something that's working. You have to remember though that I'm relatively old [63] compared to others on here and have a home based desk job whereby if I wasn't consciously trying to do something about it I'd be lucky if my daily steps reached 1.5k. It's not as though I'm running around after toddlers and need fuel to do that. I've only got DH and the cat to worry about and they're both pretty independent!

Trewser · 17/01/2020 10:31

I don't do OMAD but I do do two 18:6 days a week. So I eat from 2ish and have to stop at 8. I tend to have a big meal at around 2.30 then I am not hugely hungry, might have a small snack at 7.30 or a tiny bowl of whatever the family is having. I find this totally doable and the weight is coming off slowly.

JessJonesJumps · 17/01/2020 10:59

cricket that's interesting about the nightmares. I've been having very vivid dreams too and feeling very unsettled at night. I wonder if it's the weather or the atmospheric pressure that's affecting us? Maybe we need to focus on a good bedtime routine like we do with the DCs until we get over this restless spell.

KnucklesMcGinty · 17/01/2020 11:02

Interesting @Trewser & @recklessgran.
I'm doing 16:8 or 18:6 during the week, and I don't have any problem with the fasting bit - I just can't eat a full meal on an empty stomach. So if I plan to eat dinner with the family at about 6, I'd have some fruit at about 2 as a minimum, if I haven't had a light lunch.
I might step up to OMAD occasionally in the future, when my weight loss stalls. There's no point doing it now, before I need to, I'll have nothing to fall back on when I get desperate!

KnucklesMcGinty · 17/01/2020 11:03

@recklessgran my lifestyle is also somewhat sedentary! I'm self-employed, so I need to be disciplined about my work, otherwise I find myself sloping off for coffee with friends every day!

Somesortofzilla · 17/01/2020 11:06

Morning all!

@Vebrithien that's fantastic news! Oh congratulations, hi mini V!

@recklessgran enjoy your day off Grin

I came home to a court summons last night from stbexh, he wants unsupervised access, and accused me of withholding access. I appreciate the courts take this seriously and can only take him at his word (he obvs told the judge that I am refusing access while neglecting to tell them that he is not allowed unsupervised access), I hope they laugh him out of the court. Needless to say this threw me, I haven't started my exercise and I ate the kids 6 pack of pom bears and the rest of the selection box. I'm disgusted with myself and that this is my go to reaction.

I'm meeting friends tonight for wine and frustrated crying and one of them is bringing a SW friendly dinner fake away thing so at least I'm (kinda) on plan. Grapes count right Grin

I'm tired, and everything is feeling hard and impossible, so I'm just going to allow myself to wallow and deal with this as best I can.

Sorry for the downer, after all the good news. Sometimes just writing it down helps.

Onwards and downwards KOKO

Skyejuly · 17/01/2020 11:21

Morning all. -2lb this morn. That's 9lbs off since 8th Jan. I reckon it was all bloat though! Desperate to get under 10st and it's now 10st 1....may fluctuate though as TOTM. We will see. I certainly do not expect a fast loss to continue

I'm doing 1200 cal a day. Inc snacks but I am having snacks. No set exercise just running about after kids. Xx

Skyejuly · 17/01/2020 11:22

Some sort. I completely know how you feel. Have been through family court myself and it still continues. It sets me off too it's horrible but stay strong xx

KnucklesMcGinty · 17/01/2020 11:22

@Somesortofzilla. I'm sorry. That sounds really shitty. I can understand why weight loss seems insignificant when you're dealing with this.
I hope you can get it sorted without too much grief.
Flowers & calorie free Cake

Skyejuly · 17/01/2020 11:22

Yes be kind to yourself. It's ok to go off plan honestly we do what we need to do x

recklessgran · 17/01/2020 11:27

@somesortofzilla poor you - hugs, flowers and camaraderie from here. Try not to worry, we all emotional eat or starve at difficult times. I'm so sorry your Ex is a twat. Well done on him actually being your EX though so at times like this perhaps think about how far you've come? Try to be kind to yourself - this kind of stuff feels so lonely but so glad you have some nice friends in real life to give you the love you need. Eat what you like today! x

Vebrithien · 17/01/2020 13:58

Thank you so much everyone.

Can I just take this opportunity to say I am completely humbled and blown away with the support and well wishes that I've had from you all. You've been a sounding board when I've been worried, encouragement when I've felt like just stuffing my face, and an all-round good bunch!

I'm not going to look to lose any more weight during this pregnancy, but will try to maintain, so will continue to read and lurk.

Thank you all, again!

Egghead68 · 17/01/2020 14:02

@Somesortofzilla that sounds awful Flowers.

JessJonesJumps · 17/01/2020 17:53

somesort he is an arse. Give yourself permission to eat and drink whatever you want with your friends tonight (so you're not stressing about unauthorised eating). Then, to quote GWTW, 'tomorrow is another day'. Gin

JessJonesJumps · 17/01/2020 17:56

@JontyDoggle37 waves - hope you're ok Flowers

Tryingtwo · 17/01/2020 19:37

Somesortofzilla seconding JessJonesJumps he is an arse. Take care of yourself. Flowers
Vebrithien hope you don't just lurk, it would be nice to hear from you as well.

recklessgran · 17/01/2020 20:05

@Skyejuly sorry I missed your earlier weight loss post. 9lbs in 9 days is sensational. Just wanted to say well done and sorry I didn't acknowledge it in my earlier post.
Survived my shopping trip and visit to mum's. Bacon, egg and mushrooms in the pub washed down by a J.D. and diet coke. Cup of black tea at mums. I am having cold salmon that I cooked yesterday with some Italian salad. I am copying the truly gorgeous salad I was served in that lovely place we went to with DD on Wednesday. So, finely shredded Romaine lettuce, then chop/dice red onion, cucumber, red and green pepper and tomato. These need to be tiny about 1cm.
Sprinkle with a little salt and a tiny drizzle of olive oil. So much more delicious than normal salad but I don't know why really. Think it just looks nice. Whatever, glad I've found it as a change helps with boredom even if it's just a change in the presentation right?
@Vebrithien I second @Tryingtwo - please try to give us an update on you and Mini-V when you feel up to it. We all wish nothing but the very best outcome for you both.

lboogy · 17/01/2020 20:17

I'm having a glass of red. I've been on nothing but soup today and clocked 20k steps. Combined run and walking to and from shops. Feel the red is well deserved. Weight loss today the same. I'm down 1.5kg since jan 1 to 78kg. Got another 15 to go 😔

Egghead68 · 17/01/2020 20:30

I’ll try that salad @recklessgran. Thanks for the idea. Well done @skyejuly and all the other losers.

I’m on around 1800 calories today (1000 calorie breakfast Blush) but I did my two exercise classes despite a pulled muscle which I reckon used at least 400 cals.

It’s the weekend! Yippee!

Crazzzycat · 17/01/2020 21:03

Yesterday was a bit of a challenge. All I wanted to do was just eat, eat, eat but I managed to come in around 1600 kcal which isn’t too terrible.

Today was much easier in comparison. Porridge with banana and peanut butter for lunch and some experimental Indian thing for dinner. Snacks were an apple and a satsuma and I’m currently contemplating what to use my remaining 200 kcal on. Weirdly, I’m not hungry at all.

DownUdderer · 18/01/2020 02:08

Hi. It’s still raining! We had rain all day long and all night and now it’s still raining and it’s lunchtime! I honestly can’t remember the last time we had this much rain! We could get a ten minute drizzle once in a blue moon. We could have an hour’s worth of rain maybe twice a year. This is unspeakably amazing! I’ve been out for a 10k step walk in it! I love it!

I’m still not completely focused on planning my meals and eating the absolute best options. I’m just struggling on with the last week and a half of school holidays and then I’m going to focus again!

I had a voucher for a shop and wanted to spend it, I got two t shirts and one is too tight on the arms so I’m going to start up some weights, only small little ones I’ve got at home. I’m going to commit to it and see if I can get toned arms and see if the t shirt will fit differently!

DownUdderer · 18/01/2020 02:10

For nightmares I always find it’s because I’m over heating at night, I absolutely have to have my hot feet poking out of the covers!

Congrats Verb. Best of luck.

Good going on all weightloss, sorry to hear it some stress for some of us and well done for keeping on ! We can do it!!
