Good morning! How is it Thursday already?! I have so much to do at work today that my head is spinning already.

I'm avoiding the scales today as i haven't been able to "go" since Tuesday morning. My stomach hurts now and I'm sure the scales will show a false gain.

Plan for today is
B - banana and coffee with almond milk
L - leftover portion of last nights chilli with some lettuce
Snack - 2 satsumas
D - carrot and lentil stew with cauliflower rice with a sprinkle of chia seeds
More water than yesterday as I was a bit rubbish with it!

Hope everyone has a great day! Well done on the loss @DownUdderer I'm so glad the plateau has shifted! Fingers crossed for that rain!

Morning. 65.1kg. Well done @downudderer.

Plan
B yoghurt & granola pot 380
L butternut squash salad 350
S chopped veg 50
D ice cream (out at a flavour launch event) 500
No time to exercise today unfortunately.

Vebrithien · 16/01/2020 06:40

Hope the rain turns up soon DownUdderer
Cricket, I always find that 3 or 4 dried apricots help me to get moving, if Hong's are a bit bunged up. Might be worth a try if you've got some?
Also, if you have chia seeds without enough water, I'm fairly sure that they bung you up.

Egghead68 · 16/01/2020 06:42

Now 64.8kg.

Ps Your veg box looks amazing @cricketmum84

Ihatesundays · 16/01/2020 07:44

No change today. However was under the weather yesterday and ended up eating all sorts of stuff to feel better. Not putting on at least

NerrSnerr · 16/01/2020 08:13

Morning all. I am 1lb down so 5lbs altogether since starting. Feeling very tired today.

Don't have a food plan yet apart from Bircher muesli for breakfast (from a deliciously Ella book) and I have potatoes to use up so lunch and tea will be something with them!

Onesmallstep67 · 16/01/2020 08:24

NSV tried on my DD's size 16 jeans last night and they went on and zipped up ! Admittedly they have quite a bit of give in them but I was totally shocked. She had had them on briefly in the afternoon and I was moaning that she'd automatically put them out for the wash when she got changed for work.
Still 15st 7lbs this morning which is great as I usually gain and lose the same pound several times before it finally goes !
Meeting my friend for a long lunch today so looking forward to that. Have a good one Wink

peachgreen · 16/01/2020 09:02

0.8lb loss here which takes me below the stone boundary which I'm really pleased about. Still a loooooong way to go though, I'm under no illusions - I'm still morbidly obese and I need to sort it out for the sake of my daughter. Determined to do it this time, I've been overweight my entire adult life and I'm sick of it. I won't let it ruin the next 30 years of my life.

At home with the toddler today so I had breakfast (I wouldn't at work but I need the energy!) so no lunch and a light dinner for me today - I'm thinking chicken and tomato salad with a little drizzle of reduced fat pesto.

Egghead68 · 16/01/2020 09:06

Great @peachgreen and @onesmallstep67.

I've identified that breakfast time is my problem time. I've already had 550 calories (nut mix, low cal crisps) and that's before my planned yoghurt and granola!

I'm going to concentrate on eating no more than 500 calories before lunch from now on. I think this will really help. I generally find it easy to limit what I eat in the evening. I just seem to need loads of food to face the day!

ploughingthrough · 16/01/2020 09:16

Im at 71.3 kg after starting at 75.5kg on the 29th December. I'm pleased with the loss although I feel like I look exactly the same and my clothes don't feel looser. I am slightly above 25 BMI and aiming to get down to 22-23 so I've got around 6kg to go.
I'm on 16:8 which I've been really good about, no treats or snacks. I've had one glass of wine in this time frame and no chocolate, cake or sweets which are my downfall. I'm also running 2-3 miles every other day. I'm looking forward to feeling or seeing the weight loss although I may have a way to go.

peachgreen · 16/01/2020 09:16

@egghead68 spotting those patterns makes all the difference! I'm the opposite, find it easy to skip breakfast and lunch but by the time it gets to dinner my willpower is nowhere to be seen and I just want a massive plate of carbs! It happens regardless of what I've eaten during the day so the best way for me to lose weight is definitely saving most of my calorie allowance for dinner time. You could do the same for breakfast. Gives you more time to burn them off too!

KnucklesMcGinty · 16/01/2020 09:36

It's interesting how everyone diets differently. I tried low carb for a few weeks, but I was permanently hangry. But loads of people get on really well with it. I find intermittent fasting really easy - so far!

Egghead68 · 16/01/2020 09:37

@peachgreen yes. I'm torn between giving into my natural tendency and allowing myself my usual 1000 calories (!) for breakfast and really trying to curb it and have "only" 500 or less. I'm going to give the latter a go for a while.

Crazzzycat · 16/01/2020 09:45

My plan for today is bean wrap for lunch, and Thai green curry for dinner. That curry is not the best choice, but it’s homemade so I will try to keep the calories down a little. Snacks will be a pear and an orange and may be some dark chocolate.

Somesortofzilla · 16/01/2020 10:26

Morning all!

Hi @HollyTheHarrier congrats on your weight-loss

@Egghead68 hope your run went well, a medicinal gin is always a good call Grin

@JessJonesJumps that worked out very well!

@beforeIhit30 @Crazzzycat @Downudderer @NerrSnerr @Onesmallstep67 @peachgreen @ploughingthrough that's brilliant, well done!

@y0rkier0se that's brilliant! On the Fitbit scales they do body fat as well don't they? I must look into them.

@Vebrithen good luck today, you're doing brilliantly. I hope you have a busy day planned to keep you going Flowers

@cricketmum84 hope you feel better soon, maybe try prune juice, it tastes awful but it works for me when things....stop.

Last night went south slightly for me, I found one of the kids selection boxes, unopened, in the cupboard. So obvs I opened and ate the minstrels and galaxy bar. I stopped myself eating more, TBF I could easily have eaten the lot and some. But I found I felt awful very soon after, no pudding for me tonight so, hopefully help with my indiscretions Grin

I'm going to start with the exercising as well this evening. I've prep done, and good food ion the house (the rest of the selection box was sneakily left in the kitchen in work for others to eat). I made the mistake before of starting it all at one time and it just backfires massively on me. I got a stationary bike from a friend so that and yoga and some HIIT. Not every evening but 3 evenings a week after the kids are in bed. Step 2 is ready to go Grin

JessJonesJumps · 16/01/2020 10:45

Well, I ended up locking myself and DS out last night then had to drive across the city to where DH was in a meeting to borrow his keys. It meant we didn't get home until after 8pm so I threw some veg into a pan and made a red thai curry. It wasn't perfect but ultimately better than the takeaway we usually have on a Wed.

This is my weigh-in day.

SW: 13.7.8
CW: 13.2.2

So I've lost 5.6lbs in two weeks. I'm very happy with that. Thank you so much to everyone on this thread. I wouldn't have stuck to it or been exercising as much if it wasn't for you all Flowers

Skyejuly · 16/01/2020 10:52

Morning all.

I usually try and skip breakfast (!) Not idea but I find it makes me hungrier. Anyway my darlings(!) Woke me up at 4am so I have had to eat! I had a skimmed milk tea, 1 sugar. 6 pack of the small melba toast slices, 1 boiled egg and 6 mushrooms (grilled)

Lunch will be later as swimming lesson so will microve some leftover chickpea curry (no rice) that's under 200cal

Dinner...no idea...

Egghead68 · 16/01/2020 11:48

Well done @JessJonesJumps. Thanks @Somesortofzilla. I pulled a calf muscle on the way to the gym so it was a 50% walk 50% (painful) run but still burned a useful amount of calories. Good luck with starting exercising (Start slowly! You don't want to end up injured like me!)

HollyTheHarrier · 16/01/2020 12:33

Thanks @Somesortofzilla 😊 good luck with getting an exercise routine underway. Makes all the difference for me.

No change to weight this morning. So far today I have had:
Yoghurt, nuts, dried fruit (200)
Chicken/avo sandwich and crisps (500)
Apple (100)

Planning salmon and sweet potato chips tonight with a tomato and red onion salad. I will have run 9 miles in total (to/from work) so still plenty of calories to play with but trying to avoid refined sugar. Might have a protein shake if I have surplus calories

recklessgran · 16/01/2020 12:33

Afternoon all.
We were out at a fancy pants Italian with DD4 last night as it was her birthday. I was very good and just had a fillet steak with pepper sauce and a side salad dressed with a little salt and olive oil. Black coffee afterwards but I did have one glass of prosecco which I don't think is allowed on Keto is it? I had already had bacon and egg for lunch.
Today is my second OMAD of the week so I'm going to be having salmon salad for dinner tonight.
DGC's Twins 14 and 11 year old are here after school which is the normal Thursday routine. They have requested hotdog and chips followed by profiteroles and Vienetta this week. They always chose what they would like and I let them have it as I know that DD will balance things if I've given them junk.[ That's rare by the way - they had a full roast dinner last week with lots of veg so I'm not feeling guilty about the odd rubbish dinner.] My job is to spoil them I think.
@Vebrithien will be thinking of you later. Have a good day everyone.
Waving to @somekindofzilla.

peachgreen · 16/01/2020 13:09

Massive fail - took DD out for lunch and they wouldn't do a kids portion of lasagne so I ended up sharing it with her. God it was good though. Will skip dinner and berate myself tomorrow when I've gained. Bah.

recklessgran · 16/01/2020 14:04

Ah, @peachgreen don't be so hard on yourself, it was only one meal - well half of one really. You are losing and going in the right direction!
Have a hand back onto the wagon. And a hug if you need it.

Somesortofzilla · 16/01/2020 14:52

Hi @recklessgran glad you had a lovely time, I haven't been out for a meal in months! I must find somewhere that does healthy options and go with the girls!

@peachgreen I echo what @recklessgran said, you're doing great Grin

recklessgran · 16/01/2020 15:27

Thank you @somekindofzilla I'm afraid we eat out a lot these days but it was a rare treat indeed when our 5 were small. The problem is that 3 of our DD's live and work away in various parts of the country [Not that far but about 1 and a half hours in different directions from here.] This means that every time we visit them we take them out for dinner, have a lovely catch up on all the family news and then bid them farewell. Add to that the fact that we are such a big family and it just means we're continually looking at the next family occasion. e.g DGS is 21 on Monday so that means that everyone is coming home this weekend for the big family meal out to celebrate this.
I'm not finding it too difficult to restrain myself at the moment when faced with a delicious menu but I'm not holding my breath as pride comes before a fall doesn't it? I actually try to look at the menu before we go so that I can plan what I might have. [This weekend it's the Beefeater and 3 of us have Taste cards so will use those on the 2 for 1 to reduce the bill. I think it's one of the only places where you can do this on a weekend so we eat there a lot as it substantially reduces the bill.]
Salmon cooked in oven at lunchtime so will have it cold with salad later. Struggling to get the water down at the moment. I swear the bottle in the fridge door has a magic fountain refill.
Hope everyone else is doing O.K.

peachgreen · 16/01/2020 15:37

Thanks @recklessgran and @Somesortofzilla, I texted DH and told him not to let me have anything but salad and a bit of protein at dinner and I feel a bit better now. Straight back on the horse as they say.
