I'll be following 16:8 and WW purple plan.

Let's get ready to smash January! (As soon as the cheese and trifles have gone 😂)

Morning lovelies. Quick one from me as I'm late for work!

Sleep is still very out of sorts. I slept most of the evening on the sofa but then was wide awake at 11! Didn't go up to bed until almost 2am, took me ages to get to sleep and then alarm went off at 5.30.

No change to weight this morning.

Plan for today:
B - 2 satsumas and a coffee with soy milk
L - raw veg, mushrooms, carrots and radish
D - chilli made with Asda's plant based mince, on baby gem leaves with vegan yoghurt ranch dressing

Enough points for a single G&T and a strip of chocolate!

Have a lovely day everyone and huge good luck for the scan tomorrow Veb!

Checking in - haven't posted too much because work has been horrendously busy! The numbers on the scales are going in the right direction though.

SW: 11st 12lbs
CW: 11st 8lbs

I've been eating sensibly and plenty, just cut out the rubbish and watching the portions of things like rice and pasta (weighing instead of pouring it in a pan and hoping for the best).

Breakfast at work has been yoghurt, pomegranate seeds and granola along with an Actimel. Lunch is either a sandwich, soup or salad with enough protein to keep me full - chicken, cottage cheese etc. Tea has been the usual stuff I'd do but with an eye on portions and swaps where I can (turkey meatballs instead of beef, for instance). I haven't really been in the mood for snacks but I have a banana to keep me going through the afternoon at work.

Weekends are my downfall and this weekend was no exception. Foodwise it was fine, but whereas I'd managed at least 12000 steps a day throughout the week, I didn't manage even half of that Saturday or Sunday despite having a busy couple of days straightening the house out. Will try and remedy that by fitting in a longer run this weekend.

I've done three runs home from work now (doing two a week until I get back in the habit). These have coincided with the very worst weather (including yesterday!) so while my time on Strava isn't very impressive, my sense of achievement makes up for it! Also went to aquafit again this week and the instructor was clearly just warming us up last week for a killer session this week.

The issue with upping exercise is that it doesn't always give a true figure on the scales in the beginning as muscles try to retain water but some trousers I bought two weeks ago that were a little tight now fit perfectly and my upper body is firming up nicely. So either way, there's less of me than there was two weeks ago!

Have a good day everyone.

peachgreen · 15/01/2020 09:37

Morning all! Congrats on the positive weigh ins, well done. I really expected to gain today after brownie-gate yesterday but thankfully I was 0.4 down, which I'm really happy with considering.

7Worfs · 15/01/2020 09:45

Hello, just popping in to say I’ve fallen off the wagon a bit.
Been sleeping really poorly, so turned to chocolate in the evenings.
Still doing 16:8 so maintaining weight.

Hope you’re all doing better than me. Smile

Tryingtwo · 15/01/2020 10:09

Good morning all. Good luck Vebrithien hope everything is well.
Weigh in today 13st 9.2lbs, down 1.6lbs from last Wednesday. NSV my dm commented on my weight loss. This is the first time anybody (apart from dd and dh who knew from the beginning that I was trying to lose weight) has commented on my weight loss. Apparently my dad noticed I am looking slimmer! Dd makes positive comments and dh is a liar sensible man who tells me I always look gorgeous Grin. Not so positive is that I went bra shopping yesterday and my left boob is too big for the largest cup size that Debenhams has in a 38 so that means a special trip to Bravissimo. Although I tried not to look I had an eyeful of my back fat for the first time - not nice at all!! I see the belly mountain every day so I am used to it but the level of back fat was a nasty surprise.

Skyejuly · 15/01/2020 10:37

I hate changing room mirrors. I am not prepared to see myself at that angle

recklessgran · 15/01/2020 10:43

Morning all. Still plodding on here - not posting weight as my weigh day is Monday but scales showing a definite downwards trend so fingers crossed this will continue. I have a lot to lose!
@Vebrithien good luck tomorrow - hope you feel the weight [ha!ha!] of good wishes from this thread supporting you and everything crossed for your happy outcome.
Waving to @somekindofzilla, hope you have the best day.

Somesortofzilla · 15/01/2020 11:01

Morning all!

@Tryingtwo that's amazing self control, I think I'd have been licking their plates Grin

@BeyondFlubeInclusionaryRF congrats on your loss!

@JessJonesJumps good luck at brunch today! Even if you go overboard, just reset and and keep going.

@Blankiefan that's brilliant well done!

@cricketmum84 oh those days would throw you, but with that in mind maybe the suggestion of OMAD might work for you? If you did a big meal? Not really sure how it works TBH. Sorry your sleep is still out of whack, am I wrong in saying that sleep and weight-loss go hand in hand (it was on FB so could be lies)

@y0rkier0se congratulations and welcome aboard!

Hi @DownUdderer that sounds like an amazing day!

@Vebrithien good luck tomorrow, you're doing amazing!

@Egghead68 good luck today!

@JontyDoggle37 a few glasses of water should sort that out hopefully!

@Onesmallstep67 @NerrSerr @ctrlAltDelight @peachgreen congrats!

@KnucklesMcGinty, I have no advice, sorry, I picked up a cheap one in Argos and it matched the weights on big mad fancy one in the gym so I kept it.

@7Worfs a maintain is fab, well done!

@recklessgran hope you have a great day, onward and downward Grin

Weigh day for me, considering what I did over the weekend i'm pleasantly surprised! Down 1.3kg this morning, still on my period so lying to myself that it should be a bigger loss!

My stats are:
Starting weight: 102.1kg
Jan target: 93.5kg (I moved this after last weeks big loss!)
Loss for this week: 1.3kg
Loss so far: 7.7kg

HollyTheHarrier · 15/01/2020 11:07

Hi all, I’m sneaking back in to the thread (tail between legs) after a few months’ absence. I posted between July and October last year and lost about 5kgs but then lapsed and have put about 2.5 back on. This is day three back on the bandwagon!

My starting weight (Monday) was 62.8kg and today I was 62.3kg (clearly water weight and/or fluctuations but a nice start). I’m sticking too 1,300 calories per day adjusted for exercise as I run a lot. I’m also going to really focus on getting enough protein and nutrients within my calorie allowance because I need to be strong and healthy to avoid injury as I am increasing my running to prepare for a marathon!

Will try to check in daily. Well done everyone who has had NSVs or weight loss the last few days!

Egghead68 · 15/01/2020 17:36

Finishing the day on 1500 calories but I’m going to do a short run and hill walk (hopefully 300 cals burned) and then have a small medicinal mulberry gin (100 cals) if I need one.

Hope everyone has had good days. Buying myself healthy but nice food has helped me stay more on track today (and away from the freezer full of Christmas leftovers)

JessJonesJumps · 15/01/2020 18:10

Good luck for your run Egg.
Brunch was fine in the end. My DB brought his DGD and she happily ate half my food Grin
Wed is usually our takeaway night as DS has clubs but I have 400 cals left so should be able to pick up something or I have a tray of roasted med veg I can make when we eventually get home. Hope everyone is having a good night.

beforeIhit30 · 15/01/2020 18:16

It’s midweek! Hope everyone is doing ok.

Went a bit over yesterday (no major damage) but have had a few low days too, calorie-wise, so overall going well. Usually stay within all of my macros, except fat, if I don’t pay attention I’ll easily go over on fat, but I’m not too worried about it right now.

So far this month I’ve lost 4.2lb - YAY! - that seems very good to me for two weeks. I’m now only 13lb away from my initial goal Shock can’t quite believe it and feeling really pleased.

My initial goal is my pre-pregnancy weight, which I was happy at, felt fit and healthy and liked my appearance. However I would like to get a few pounds below that over time as a sort of ‘buffer’ so that I’m firmly in the ‘healthy’ category and not just on the edge, as my initial goal is close to the top of healthy for my height. I know some people are really anti-BMI but it’s a starting point for me and a useful frame of reference, and I don’t really have any muscle so I am pretty much just weighing my fat Grin

y0rkier0se · 15/01/2020 18:23

Finishing today on 1247 kcals and doing 18:6. Had leftover vegetable chilli on a McCain jacket for lunch and had a wholemeal pitta with chicken and peppers for tea with some grapes afterwards. Only done 4000 steps though Blush I’d put 1lb on when getting weighed this morning but I think with weighing daily it’s just fluctuation. To the PP, I have the Fitbit scales which I really like.

Skyejuly · 15/01/2020 18:54

Really hungry today as TOTM. Still under cal allowance but been a bit carb heavy! Now I want chocolate but will settle for an options hot choc

Vebrithien · 15/01/2020 19:05

Thank you so much everyone, for all your well wishes. You've all been such a support.
Scan isn't until tomorrow evening, so don't reckon I'll be eating much at all tomorrow!

BeyondFlubeInclusionaryRF · 15/01/2020 19:56

Not had a perfect day today food-wise, had three meals for once Grin but the lunch (supermarket veg sushi) was after us trekking to the gym for a swim. Body is feeling the pleasant post-exercise kind of tired rather than the usual fatigue-causing-illness tired, so that makes a nice change; we'll see how dead I am in the morning though!!!

MsTSwift · 15/01/2020 20:22

Have such a heavy cold I can’t exercise as feel hideous but also lost my appetite and frankly can’t taste much.

B nothing
L red cabbage and carrot coleslaw
D veg lasagne salad and homemade treacle tart
Prob sub 1000 calories

Egghead68 · 15/01/2020 21:04

Nice loss @beforeIhit30. Get well soon @MrsTSwift.

Crazzzycat · 15/01/2020 21:18

I had a good day today. I weighed a whole kg less than yesterday, which I know is just water (or dodgy scales), but still...

I had a bean wrap for lunch and bean and pasta soup for dinner. Snacks were a pear, grapes and soy yoghurt, corn thins with hummus and Quorn ham and some dark chocolate.

It’s only day three for me, but it’s going well so far Smile

cricketmum84 · 15/01/2020 21:33

@CtrlAltDelight oh I know the feeling! It's my 2 extreme busy weeks now and I barely have time to go for a wee! Sounds like you are doing really well though!

Fab result @peachgreen

@7Worfs same here but minus the chocolate. Still on my weighed out portions of Christmas chocolate! DH has just opened a bag of toblerones and they are looking very tempting!

@Tryingtwo have you had a look at Matalan for bras? They have some really nice ones in bigger sizes and go up to a 42 back size I think and from a DD to a G. Don't feel disheartened. Changing room mirrors are bastards.

@Somesortofzilla I don't think OMAD would work for me. Ive become very anxious about food and can get quite panicky if I feel uncomfortably full so I eat very small portions. There's no way I could eat enough in one meal to sustain me for 24 hours! I've heard that lack of sleep can affect weight loss. Hopefully things get back to normal soon.

Hi @HollyTheHarrier welcome back!!! No need to feel bad at all, nice to have you back on board ❤️

@Egghead68 yep I think treating yourself to nice healthy food is a really good way to stay on track. My lovely fruit and veg box is helping me.

Great loss so far this month @beforeIhit30!!

Get well soon @MsTSwift! It's rubbish being poorly :(

@Cream123 where you at???

AdventureTravelDreamer · 15/01/2020 22:07

Quick check in to say still here just haven't had time to post today. Will catch up again properly in the morning.

HollyTheHarrier · 15/01/2020 22:30

Thanks for the welcome back @cricketmum84 😊 hope you are well. Sounds like moving to three portion controlled meals a day will suit you better than IF.

Today’s meals:
Lunch: scrambled egg (mainly egg whites as left over from making custard, one whole egg) and toast
Pre running snack: Oatcakes and peanut butter
Post running snack: yoghurt, raisins, cashews
Dinner: veg lasagne, roast broccoli, roast cauliflower

Should have enough calories for a little bit of chocolate.

Tryingtwo · 15/01/2020 23:53

Hi AdventureTravel Dreamer glad you checked in as I was debating whether to message you tonight or leave it until tomorrow.
Thanks cricketmum84 but it's the cup size rather than the back I have problems with - I need a K(!) cup for my left (bigger) boob unfortunately. Bra shopping is a pain in the bum.

DownUdderer · 16/01/2020 03:05

I’m a pound down, thank goodness I was feeling like I’d be in a plateau forever. I’ve bought a pair of leather leggings! So it’s my goal to fit in them now! It was a impulse buy and goodness knows if they’ll ever fit me!

No rain today! Maybe we’ll get it tomorrow!
