@cricketmum84 the water is pretty clear so you can see what's around you, we saw a few fish. I'm not a fan of seaweed though! I don't like it if seaweed brushes my leg!

Some great losses this week, you're all putting in good effort and seeing results! I'm still not focused but I'm trying to be good, or trying to not be completely terrible!

The roasted cauliflower sounds tasty, I didn't know you could get it to go crispy in the oven. Sometimes I'm a terrible cook and things turn out horrible and that makes me less likely to try a new technique in the kitchen. Do you put your cauliflower in raw? Or par boiled?

Egghead68 · 11/01/2020 04:27

Roasted cauliflower is delicious (but best cooked with loads of butter Smile). I put it in the oven raw, cut into chunky steaks. It’s hard to mess up.

I’m not very focussed either @DownUdderer and seem to be gaining and losing the same few 100g. I’m quite close to my target and should just have a final push but easier said than done.

I hope the heat and bushfires have calmed down a bit.

Egghead68 · 11/01/2020 04:31

@cricketmum84 16:8 would be hopeless for me because I love my breakfasts (and can eat A LOT in 8 hours). It seems to be great for lots of people though. I hope adding breakfast works for you.

Egghead68 · 11/01/2020 04:35

@cobwebsoncornices weekends are the hardest timed I find. I’m often working, which helps, but if not I try to go for a really long walk (10 miles or so). This burns lots of calories and takes my mind off food (and I can justify a hot chocolate at the end).

Egghead68 · 11/01/2020 06:10

64.8kg again (big sigh)
Plan: toasted Brie sandwich 500, pavlova 250, Greggs 420, noodle salad 320, veg 30

JontyDoggle37 · 11/01/2020 07:26

@cricketmum84 that sounds like a plan, breakfast is important for kickstarting you’re metabolism I think.
@cobwebsoncornices I’ve already fallen foul of ‘weekend syndrome’. I’ve realised, however, that falling off the wagon started with not drinking enough water all day - so I already felt, by the evening, that I was ‘off plan’ if that makes sense? So I convinced myself I could have a glass of wine or two as I’d been really good food-wise and it would be ok. But, the wine monster came out, the glass or two turned into three and as usual I got the major munchies and basically ate the house. Up 1lb this morning and I thoroughly deserve it. So I MUST NOT have any alcohol for the rest of the weekend, and I MUST drink plenty of water, starting at 8am!!! Wish me luck, I’m going in! 😁

Somesortofzilla · 11/01/2020 07:50

Morning all!

Quick check in today before the party starts. Ended up having breakfast at 5am after my small man's excitement got the better of him and he woke at 4am. Fine on a weekday but I stayed up late setting up so I'm all out of sorts now.

I also ate a bag of crinkle cut crisps.....the share bag. I blame the late hour. Now I just feel "off". Although that could also be the guilt Grin

Agree with you all on the weekend temptations! Fingers crossed I won't give into temptation. And if I do I'll at least have some self control about it!

Waves to @recklessgran good luck today!!

NerrSnerr · 11/01/2020 07:55

My weight has finally moved and I'm 2lbs down this morning. Finally feel like I'm getting into the swing of things. Trying to stop myself eating crap this weekend as my husband is working away and I always end up eating crap when alone in the evening.

I won't exercise this weekend but will be active, chasing after my 5 and 2 year old. Once I have had coffee.

sophieg345 · 11/01/2020 08:45

Morning! Couldn't wait until tomorrow so weighed today! 4lb down 😊 3lb in 2 weeks is going to be easy!

Tryingtwo · 11/01/2020 08:49

Good morning all, not a good day yesterday. I went completely off plan about 4.00pm and ate chocolate, crisps and crackers, just a sod it half hour really. I pulled it back slightly by having scrambled eggs and dry roasted mushrooms for dinner and nothing else for the rest if the day. I haven't weighed in yet.

AdventureTravelDreamer · 11/01/2020 08:56

So after saying I wasn't going to have a drink last night I got in from work late and DH then suggested going out for dinner, I then invited DSIS and her DH to join us, so I ended up having a lovely evening but totally off plan! Tried to limit the damage so only a small gain this morning which won't affect my week come next Friday.

Also trying to really think about the weekend temptations. Going to try and get to the gym today and tomorrow and be really careful food wise!

ploughingthrough · 11/01/2020 09:29

How often is everybody weighing ?

recklessgran · 11/01/2020 09:42

Morning all. 0.75lbs up today after 0.75lbs down yesterday. Do any other daily weighers have this? I definitely haven't cheated and according to Ketostix definitely in Keto. One meal a day seems to cause a definite drop for me so I'm going to try that again today if I can. Not despondent really - just interested. I daren't fall off the wagon as I have form for not being able to get back on hence why I can't risk being naughty.
Today DH and I are going to look at a new gym that has opened near us to see if we think it would be worth joining - more for the pool really, rather than the actual gym. [It will have to be very warm to tempt me!] I also had a letter from a swanky place I used to belong to back in the day containing discount and offers if I rejoin. I left because it was ridiculously overpriced even though I did go at least twice a week if not more. Will decide what to do once I've cased the new gym.
@Somekindofzilla I'm sorry you've had a crap moning but Happy birthday to littlesomesortofzilla. Have a great day -you'll miss it all one day!
Hope everyone else has a good a day as possible - catch up later.

Ihatesundays · 11/01/2020 09:47

Can hardly believe it but I’ve lost more weight! Another 0.2kg which takes me to nearly a whole kilo this week.
Everything is starting to hang off me. About 5 years ago I was about 3 kilos lighter but I am definaltey smaller because of the exercise.

Ecci · 11/01/2020 09:56

Cricket, I think you might be right to try breakfasts again. It works for me. I always have a slice of toast with flora and either ginger marmalade or lemon curd. It's like starting the day with a treat. I'm now down 2 stone since August.
Ploughing through, I weigh most days and record on a spreadsheet. I have a graph with a (mostly) downward sloping line. I started in August with a target of losing 52 lbs in a year, before I found this group. Lost 28.4 lbs so far.

Upupandiwent · 11/01/2020 10:14

Morning everyone, my weight seems to have stalled for the 4th day now. I've been keeping to the required calorie intake (and quite often I'm under on calories), logging on mfp, doing 16:8. I've had my period this week and felt ill and not exercised.
I'm hoping that an increase in water and more exercise might kick start things.
I tried the Deliciously Ella salad recipe as suggested by AdventureTraveller and it was indeed delicious. It's made me want to be more adventurous with my salads, as I eat a LOT of salads.

beforeIhit30 · 11/01/2020 10:14

@recklessgran I don’t weigh daily now but I used to, and it taught me just how much our weight fluctuates naturally. I tracked it on Fitbit at the time and then used Trendweight (these days Fitbit also does a trend graph), which charted the overall trend which was downwards. Weight and weight loss isn’t linear, and we can fluctuate for all sorts of reasons (eg water retention due to extra sodium, hormones, stress, or for no real reason!). So definitely don’t be disheartened (you didn’t say you are, I know, but equally for anyone else who weighs frequently) if you see ups as well as downs, as long as the overall trend is downwards.

In December I had about 2 weeks of seeing no movement and then a whoosh of about 3-4lbs down in only a few days. As I don’t weigh daily (just because I don’t always get around to it!), it might have been that there were days with losses that I didn’t see. Any time we weigh, it’s just a snapshot in time, so the overall trend is the main thing, as well as non-scale changes like measurements, how clothes fit etc.

So if anyone else feels a bit down when they don’t see constant movement downwards, don’t worry! It doesn’t mean you’re not losing weight. I’ve added a pic of my last 3 months (bearing in mind I don’t weigh daily, so not all fluctuations are accounted for), but you can see the spikiness of my weigh ins compared with the trend.

(Not supposed to be directed entirely at @recklessgran Grin a general point about how non-linear weight loss is!)

Upupandiwent · 11/01/2020 10:16

Ecci that's a fab weight loss. Well done! How have you done it?

Upupandiwent · 11/01/2020 10:22

Thank you *beforeIhit30" that's just what I needed to hear. I need to calm down, just because I've stayed the same for a few days I shouldn't get too down about it.

JessJonesJumps · 11/01/2020 10:28

recklessgran yy I find it quite common to spike then drop, then repeat. It's one of the issues with daily weighing but I still like to do it because I think it helps me not to panic if there's a spike, I know it's likely to come back down as long as I keep on top of what I'm eating.
I had salmon and salad for dinner last night and a G&slimline tonic to celebrate being asked to pitch for the new project.
I'm showing as 1.4lbs down since yesterday but I think it's probably a blip and I'll be up again tomorrow Grin
The weather here is horrendous - so rainy and windy. Any exercise will definitely have to be indoors.
Somesortof have birthday to mini-somesort. I hope you all have a great day.

cricketmum84 · 11/01/2020 11:18

Morning all! Lazy bum here has only just woken up!! Think I must have needed a sleep catch up after a few bad insomnia nights this week.

Weight is up again today so I think my diet needs a total overhaul. I haven't tracked as I should do so that's the first step. Also wine keeps sneaking in so that really needs to stop!! Plus I've snacked a wedge of crusty bread when I've been up late and unable to sleep.

Plan for today is:
Water not wine...
too late for breakfast really but I'm going to go grab some alpro, blueberries and 20g granola
D - haven't fully decided yet. DH and kids want burgers so I might do peppers stuffed with lentil chilli.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

Just looking back at my ww app weight tracker and it doesn't make great reading. I've just wobbled between 18.11 and 19.1 for the past 2 months.

Major kick up the arse needed!

Missed breakfast again but had cucumber and an orange at 10am. Going to have left over vegan chili at lunch. No rice them have a good dinner.

AdventureTravelDreamer · 11/01/2020 12:29

@Upupandiwent glad the salad was good, we're also trying to be a bit more adventurous so going to try it next week.

About 300 cals consumed here so far, 2 veggie sausages, baked beans and some mushrooms. DS also had two slices of toast with his Envy!!!

cricketmum84 · 11/01/2020 13:31

Right am getting my head back in the game!

I've meal planned for the week including meals for the meat eaters and my work lunches. And I've put all the recipes into ww app and tracked each day. They all came out between 0-2 points per portion.

This week is going to be a good week!
