Morning all! And welcome to the December edition of lose 7lbs!

A huge to welcome to the newbies, long term followers and contributors and the lurkers!

I would dearly love to lose 7lbs in December but accepting that I'm probably going to relax things a little, have some chocolate or some cheese, mulled wine and stollen.

I will still be following ww and 16:8 most days. I'm also going to try stay mostly vegan with the exception of local eggs which I think should help me stay on track!

Stats are:
Dec starting weight: 18.13
Dec target weigh: 18.7
Loss for November: 3lbs
Loss for 2019: 6stone 5lbs

Happy December to all and let's get our festive groove on!

Same weight all week. 9st 9.5. Been a little more relaxed this week though so to be expected. Only 2.5lb off target but I think it’ll have to wait until after Christmas. Going to carry on within reason. Happy Christmas 🎄

lilgreen · 21/12/2019 09:59

Here’s my graph. It keeps me going when my weight is static. There seems to be a pattern. I use YAZIO to track and calorie count.

Morning! Xmas Smile
A little heavier today, so back to less indulgent meals until Christmas Eve.

Cleaned the bedrooms this morning, got to do the rest of the house and the food shop this afternoon. Dreading the desserts isle.

Also want to buy some low alcoholic treat, haven’t had a glass of anything in 1.5 years now, but too paranoid it will go in the breastmilk.

cricketmum84 · 21/12/2019 10:44

Kat please be kind to yourself. It was this time last year that my DH took a pic of me in a Christmas dress and I broke down in tears at how awful I looked. Yes it gave me a kick up the bum to start eating healthier but it's never a good thing to feel so negatively about yourself. You are beautiful and strong and together we can do this ❤️❤️

Ooh, upsetting photos... small consolation but we’ve all been there 💐
Also mirrors in shops changing rooms!

As long as we adopt small changes and play the long game, results will follow. We’ve got this.

lilgreen · 21/12/2019 11:03

Oh please don’t look in mirrors in changing rooms while half dressed. Next last week was a really awful. Harsh bright downlighting . Do they want to sell clothes or what?

Hello all! It’s been really busy here, there’s always so much on at school at this time of year, plus we have a couple of birthdays (DCs so tend to be a bigger deal than if it was just one of us!), various colds have gone around the house, and just usual life stuff... I’m so tired! I think I’m noticing much more because DC2 is now in Primary and so we’ve doubled up on everything school-related. It’s a really good school but they don’t half make an event of everything Confused

So glad we’ve broken up for the hols now Grin

Have found it easy to keep low carb but my rate of weight loss has slowed - this month I’m averaging about 0.5lb per week, where ideally I’d want to be at 1lb per week. I was LCHF before pregnancy and lost weight easily without tracking, but my diet is different this time. Funnily enough it’s much better in many regards - no sugar/carb treats, no takeaways etc. This is because DH’s diet has changed a lot (for medical reasons) and inevitably this has meant mine has changed too. So much cleaner, healthier so I’m actually really happy about that, but, it means I need to reconfigure how I eat with enough of a deficit to increase the rate of weight loss a bit. Back to tracking, hopefully will help me to spot where I’m getting a bit too much - these days I’m pretty much just eating meat/fish/eggs, and dairy (cream, cheese, milk), and some veg. My suspicion is that I’m having too many calories and/or sugars from dairy, and I need to increase my veg intake as a carrier for some fat rather than just eating straight fat Grin

I hope everyone is doing well - if you’re celebrating over the next week, try not to do yourself down if you indulge. It is good to practise being more sensible, but, a healthy balanced way of eating IMO is about recognising that there are occasions where you indulge in a treat or celebration/special food (without going overboard). If I could eat a mince pie or several without getting a headache I absolutely would be on that with some brandy cream Grin

Megsmcgoo · 21/12/2019 17:00

I’m still here but my will power is floundering, work has been busy and with all the meals out it’s a struggle! I’m looking forward to staying with my parents from Monday, aside from Christmas Day they’re very healthy eaters so there won’t be any temptation!

Might treat myself to some new scales for the post Christmas weigh in

lilgreen · 21/12/2019 19:46

B:toast with a slice of smoked cheese, espresso
L: salad with tomatoes, olives, bit of feta, mini mince pie
D: chicken noodle stir fry , 1 bottle of beer.

DownUdderer · 21/12/2019 23:42

I snacked on everything yesterday and had a thai takeaway. It annoys me because I didn’t even enjoy it.

It’s much cooler today and I’m planning scrambled eggs for breakfast and then I’ll head out for a walk.

I need to get my head on straight. When I started out loosing weight my rate of loss was excellent and now it’s so slow that I’m loosing focus really easily.

Egghead68 · 22/12/2019 05:12

66.3kg again.

I’ve got lots of food to eat up before Christmas so am going to be having some weird combinations.

Plan: Cauliflower popcorn, baked goat’s cheese, stirfry veg, cashew curry, berries, advent choc. Around 1370 cals. Lots of walking if the weather’s good enough.

Ihatesundays · 22/12/2019 08:42

Exactly 72kg still. I need to add something into my diet to replace bran flakes (I do 16:8 so don’t eat breakfast) and I think they were keeping me regular, I’m sure that would shift a bit of weight!

Egghead68 · 22/12/2019 08:52

I have the same problem @ihatesundays! When I am not on a diet I eat lots of nuts and seeds and muesli (all of which I think were a factor in my weight gain) and my intestines are not functioning well without.

lilgreen · 22/12/2019 09:02

Wow! Well that’s a surprise. I have been sticking to 1300 cals or less but this week been stuck at 135.5/136lb and done no excercise apart from whizzing around shops and work and suddenly this morning I’m 134.2!!!! SmileXmas Grin so that’s 9st 8 and my goal is 9st 7. There’s a chance I could make it by Wednesday, an outside chance but it gives me incentive not to go too mad over Crimbo. Good luck everyone!

lilgreen · 22/12/2019 09:06

@Ihatesundays that’s why I changed to cal counting instead. 16:8 or low carb make me constipated and also I love breakfast and good carbs. I am a healthy eater mostly in that I love fruit, veg, fish, lean meats , seeds and nuts etc but I eat with the family and eat the same meals 98% of the time. I’ll just have less lasagne and more salad. My breakfasts are only 200/300 anyway.

Ihatesundays · 22/12/2019 09:11

I’m glad it’s not just me! I eat lots of fruit and veg and makes no difference!
I get on so well with 16;8 now - rubbish...

Egghead68 · 22/12/2019 09:14

Could you have bran flakes for lunch or as a snack perhaps?

lilgreen · 22/12/2019 09:15

Yeah I find it’s breafast/ cereal fibre that shifts things in that area!Wink

lilgreen · 22/12/2019 09:17

I remember reading that people on the paleo diet and other low carbers have a spoon of organic oatmeal daily. Pretty sure it was Kate and Carol Middleton.

Ihatesundays · 22/12/2019 09:18

I could do that at home but not at work. On hols now so might have a bowl at 11am.
Is there snack that would work the same I could eat at work?

Usernamechange1 · 22/12/2019 09:20

Hello one and all!
I'm just recovering from Norovirus but would absolutely love to join. I'm doing IF and SW and have lost over a stone so far.

Once I'm better I'll post properly and have a jolly good read through of all the previous posts. I didn't want to lose this thread while I'm out of it!

lilgreen · 22/12/2019 09:23

Norovirus is awful. Get well soon. If it’s not too soon to say there is an obvious silver lining....Wink

cricketmum84 · 22/12/2019 09:39

Morning all! It's day 22 already!! I'm getting quite freaked out by how close we are to Christmas!

Weight is still the same so the maintaining plan is working.

@Ihatesundays for additional fibre try switching to brown rice and wholewheat pasta with evening meals. You could also try a spoonful of chia seeds in yoghurt as a snack. they don't taste of anything but give that little added fibre boost. I also add them to cooked rice and quinoa for an extra crunch. Also raw veg sticks have a decent amount of fibre as do nuts and seeds for snacks.

@lilgreen well done for getting so close to target and especially at this time of year!

@Usernamechange1 welcome!! Hope the horrible bug shifts quickly!

Plan for today is water and green tea this morning, not doing a big Sunday roast today with Christmas being so close so instead doing no porkies sausages with mash, roasted veg and veggie gravy.

Going to sort my wrapping today too!

Much love ❤️ and have a lovely relaxing Sunday

7Worfs · 22/12/2019 10:05

Happy Sunday!
Weight is around the same these last few days, I’m okay with that. I am allowing myself a small treat in the evenings.

Mostly chillin’ today, will make soup for lunch, probably leek and potato. Btw love the soup maker, cricket!

Got chicken in the slow cooker, so might just steam some veg to go with it for dinner.

cricketmum84 · 22/12/2019 10:09

Ah I'm so glad @7Worfs I couldn't cope without mine now! I'm going to make the super green soup again tomorrow to hopefully counteract the Christmas excesses!
