Lose 7lbs/3kgs a month! The December instalment!

cricketmum84 · 30/11/2019 13:00

Morning all! And welcome to the December edition of lose 7lbs!

A huge to welcome to the newbies, long term followers and contributors and the lurkers!

I would dearly love to lose 7lbs in December but accepting that I'm probably going to relax things a little, have some chocolate or some cheese, mulled wine and stollen.

I will still be following ww and 16:8 most days. I'm also going to try stay mostly vegan with the exception of local eggs which I think should help me stay on track!

Stats are:
Dec starting weight: 18.13
Dec target weigh: 18.7
Loss for November: 3lbs
Loss for 2019: 6stone 5lbs

Happy December to all and let's get our festive groove on!

Hope your little one feels better soon cricketmum84 and that none of the rest of your family catch it. It's nice when people compliment you on weight loss. No one seems to have noticed that I have lost weight or if they have they aren't saying anything Grin.
I realised that it had been 3 months since I started trying to lose weight and that I had lost 36lbs in that time. It should therefore be possible to lose half that amount in the next three months ie 6lbs per month, so my aim is to be 12st 12lbs by 18th March 2020 and I will still be bloody obese at that weight.
I sound confident but last time I lost a lot of weight, the 13 stones were horrible and it took months and months to get in the 12's - I would lose a lb a week for 2 or 3 weeks then plateau for weeks then lose a lb or two then plateau... I gave up when I had been stuck at 12 stones 11 lbs for 6 weeks. Hopefully history won't repeat itself and this time I will make it to being overweight, however at the moment that seems an almost unattainable goal.

No change but the Christmas food has started. Glad it’s my last day in work tomorrow so I can try to be good. I want to be under 72kg for Christmas!

lilgreen · 19/12/2019 22:36

Had 2 mini mince pies from Aldi tonight. Unplanned but totally worth it!

DownUdderer · 20/12/2019 05:02

I’m trying my best to eat sensibly but today I’m having a few treats as well.

When I’m busy it’s funny that I don’t feel hungry! I think I used to just mindlessly eat when I wasn’t hungry at all.

I’ve got my eye on a couple of lovely sun dresses that might go on sale after Christmas! Over the last couple of years I’d just buy the cheapest things I could because I didn’t really want to face up to what size I was.

Egghead68 · 20/12/2019 06:11

66.6kg
Plan
Cashew curry 460; pineapple 200; 3 cheese puffs 250; Poss salad 280; Poss left over brownie 300. Try to fit in a gym session.

It would be great to get to 66kg by Christmas.

Ihatesundays · 20/12/2019 07:34

My weight wobbles slightly (I only take note of the lowest readings) and I am back down to 72kg on the button today.
Going to be super good today and see if I can break away from that 2! Bacon butties day in work though - oops!

Egghead68 · 20/12/2019 07:42

Stressful day ahead and I can feel a chocolate muffin calling. Oh dear...

Onesmallstep67 · 20/12/2019 08:09

Morning everyone, happy Friday! Seem to be having a better couple of days and some of the festive treat consumption has slowed up. 15st 10lbs this morning and under 100 kg which was one of December's targets. Not sure if I will achieve the other two, 15 8 would be 3 and a half stones lost since April and 15 7 would be 50lbs lost. I can't believe that I have stuck with it. Doesn't really feel like a diet, more like a re education of what I should be eating.
In other news new man is still on the scene and I auditioned earlier in the week for a local amateur theatre production and have been offered the female lead so chuffed and petrified in equal measure, despite being a Drama teacher for 25 years I haven't done any acting since before the millennium
Well done everyone who is making progress, NSVs and changing image compliments and to the rest of us, KOKO.

Egghead68 · 20/12/2019 08:24

Great news @onesmallstep67.

Had the choc muffin and feel much less tense (this emotional eating is not good). Now have to survive the rest of the day on 500 cals - it can be done!

cricketmum84 · 20/12/2019 08:31

Morning all! Happy Friday! Feeling excited as after today I'm only in the office one day until the 7th January!

Littlest seems a lot better today so must have just been a passing bug thank goodness!

Plan for today is carrots and hummous for lunch, then it's DHs Christmas do tonight so have promised the kids a Chinese takeaway, will probably go for something like a Szechuan vegetables with plain noodles and have half then save half for tomorrow. Might share half a portion of salt and pepper tofu with DDS.

Weighed this morning and I'm back to December start weight. Ffs. Looks like I'm planning on a maintain for December rather than an actual loss. Suppose it's better than a gain!

Tryingtwo you've done so well, it's really encouraging to hear how much you've lost. Plateaus are dismal. I had one in November and December's not going to be good either, only 2.2 lbs down so far. I'm now 14 St 0.8lbs. I want to get below 14 by Christmas day and I'm so close but I seem to be stuck. I know what you mean about going from obese to overweight, it seems impossible that I will ever get there.

WoollyFoolly · 20/12/2019 10:33

Relieved to weigh at 12.0 still this morning. Had mince pie, crisps, cake, biscuits etc yesterday but then was so full I didn't eat tea. I know it's not the healthiest approach but at least it's an improvement on eating ALL the snacks AND three full meals a day.
DH off on a Christmas do tonight, I've got a huge beef stew in the slow cooker today so that'll make plenty of meals to go in the freezer. Starting to prep some things for Christmas dinner today too.

Egghead68 · 20/12/2019 11:54

Calories all used up for the day :(

December is going to be a maintenance month for me too I think - keep gaining and losing the same few 100g.

@Tryingtwo you are doing amazingly. Plateaus are the pits and the less you weigh the harder it is to lose weight but if you just KOKO eventually it must shift.

Vebrithien · 20/12/2019 17:27

I've been lurking, well done everyone for losses, or even maintaining at this time of year. I am just focusing on maintaining, right now.
In other news, I had another scan today, with a strong heartbeat and good growth, so am just over 8 weeks now. The consultant was brilliant, and I'll be on regular scans for the whole pregnancy (fingers crossed for the next one in early Jan).
Thank-you for all the support on this thread, you've been amazing!

cricketmum84 · 20/12/2019 18:26

That's fantastic news Veb ❤️❤️

Even if you won't be trying to lose weight please please keep popping in to give us updates. We are all rooting for you and mini V!!

Congratulations @Vebrithien, lovely news for Christmas.
Had a good day but just broken up for Christmas and really fancied fish n chips so I went for it BUT only had half a portion as I shared with teen DD.
B: 2 weetabix, skimmed milk
L: salad with prawns, apple
D1/2 portion cod n chips, mushy peas.

WoollyFoolly · 20/12/2019 20:41

Aw fab news @Vebrithien!

7Worfs · 20/12/2019 20:52

Great news Veb, I do love life updates from everyone, it’s so comfy to read. Xmas Smile

Today was a bit cheeky, I hope I didn’t do a lot of damage. Confession below:

B - Scrambled eggs with cottage cheese and heavily buttered toast, a banana (700-800kcal)

L - bacon sandwich, one mince pie, one pecan slice (700-800kcal)

D - a McDonalds meal (800kcal) Xmas Blush

I started my fast at 3.20pm and will try and make it last 18h.

Egghead68 · 20/12/2019 22:30

Lovely news @Vebrithien!

DownUdderer · 21/12/2019 03:56

Great news about your scan Verbithien.

I’m having a snacky day. It’s just a super hot day today, it’ll be cooler tomorrow and I can’t wait!

Egghead68 · 21/12/2019 05:47

66.3kg. I’m eating snacks today (and maybe some trifle-flavoured M&S ‘Baileys’).

Have a lovely Saturday everyone. Bring on the cooler weather in Oz.

Katinka2 · 21/12/2019 07:22

Really lovely news for you @verbithien.
Really love reading all the updates, I resonate with so many of the things people are saying about how I’ve come to be where I am with my weight “situation “.

Last night I went for my Christmas meal out with group of friends, some of whom I’ve not seem for a while. The inevitable group photo was taken and I’ve just seen it posted.

I LOOK AWFUL. Can’t believe how big I’ve got, well I can but I’ve been in such a mindset about really going to lose the weight this time that in my head the half stone I’ve lost so far I thought because it’s made a difference to me in that I had on my jeans I would look “better”.

Last couple of days chocolate wise have been tricky. Not expecting a loss on my Monday weigh in but I so don’t want to put on my 7lbs loss over Christmas.

Planning on lots of long walks with dog, DH and my two DC’s.

I’m losing weight for me to be the healthiest I can be as I am 52 and in obese category at 14 stone 7. Biggest reason too that I find it hard to confess to myself is because my youngest DC is disabled and I need to look after him for as long as I can so need to be the fittest and healthiest I can be for him. So I know I have to keep going with this.

First target goal for me is 14stone, then 13.8. At 13.8 I will be in unhealthy category and mad as it sounds unhealthy sounds so good compared to obese.

The shock of that picture from last night has made me determined.

Hope you all are having a good start to weekend. I love reading the posts they are really helping with my emotional woes and lows.

Ihatesundays · 21/12/2019 09:15

Great news @Vebrithien - be kind to yourself during the pregnancy, you deserve it.

Still the same. Ate too much chocolate yesterday. Got to get that 0.1 kg to get under 72kg. At the moment with it being Christmas week this is all I am aiming for.

And I am going Christmas food shopping today - urgh.

cricketmum84 · 21/12/2019 09:34

Morning my lovelies ❤️

Still the same today. Definitely focusing on a maintain over Christmas!

We were also meant to be doing the big food shop at 8am however DH came home a little worse for wear last night and is still sleeping it off. To be fair he gets drunk maybe once every 3 years so I'm really not fussed. Just glad he had a good night out. I've just taken him up 2 pints of water and some painkillers 😂

Plan for today is: ww protein crackers with Brie and cranberry and an apple for lunch. Dinner is the other half of my mushroom curry from last night with some brown rice.

Busy day of cleaning and tidying ahead and lots of wrapping to do!

Have a lovely Saturday!

@Katinka2, I started this year weighing 14st 7. At the moment I'm 12st and aiming to lose another 7lb. You can do this! I have made a photo book for my DH's Christmas present and looking through photos from that start of the year was hard. I really looked so big! I have used MyFitnessPal to track calories and weight, it's nice to get a graph with a steadily dropping line so if I ever waver I can look back at how far I've already come.
