cricketmum84 · 30/11/2019 13:00

Morning all! And welcome to the December edition of lose 7lbs!

A huge to welcome to the newbies, long term followers and contributors and the lurkers!

I would dearly love to lose 7lbs in December but accepting that I'm probably going to relax things a little, have some chocolate or some cheese, mulled wine and stollen.

I will still be following ww and 16:8 most days. I'm also going to try stay mostly vegan with the exception of local eggs which I think should help me stay on track!

Stats are:
Dec starting weight: 18.13
Dec target weigh: 18.7
Loss for November: 3lbs
Loss for 2019: 6stone 5lbs

Happy December to all and let's get our festive groove on!

Today is work Christmas meal. I am really in the zone and really could do without a 3 course meal but it’s a set meal and price. I’ve only had 700ish cals so far today. Leaves me 600Confused so I will be over but not drinking as driving (school night-literally) and probably will give my pud away as I don’t have a sweet tooth.
Was down another 0.2lb this morning. Smile

7Worfs · 11/12/2019 18:13

I survived! It hurts and I’ll be on porridge and soups for weeks - I hope it helps with the plateau. Xmas Grin

Megsmcgoo · 11/12/2019 21:05

Glad it went well @7Worfs!

cricketmum84 · 11/12/2019 23:00

Not done too badly today. Ww lemon meringue bar for a late morning snack, then a Morrison's Brie and cranberry sandwich at lunch (it was that gorgeous that I'm not even sorry) and wholewheat pasta with vegan pesto and rocket salad for dinner. Very small portion though. Asked DH to make me 2 portions of pasta (to have a position for lunch tomorrow) as I'm working late again and ended up with about 5 portions for work lunches 😂

@7Worfs glad it wasn't too bad. Yes liquid diet will help! Hope you're not in too much pain Thanks

Egghead68 · 12/12/2019 06:11

Get well soon @7Worfs and anyone else poorly/any poorly little ones.

MsTSwift · 12/12/2019 06:46

Really good yesterday
Hours turbo
Fasted until 1pm
1 Fishcake and salad at 1pm 300
Veg curry at 7pm 400

Then went out had 3 glasses of red wine came home and ate 3 Waitrose chocolate biscuits. I was doing so well!

DownUdderer · 12/12/2019 07:06

I’ve got a vomiting child home from school today. I’m feeling a bit queasy.

We’ll see how it goes.

cricketmum84 · 12/12/2019 07:09

@Egghead68 actually thought you were having nut roast and 350 mushrooms then 😂

@MsTSwift we all have days like that 😂 something about this time of year!

Got a meeting with school assistant principal this morning as DDS hasn't been in to school for 4 weeks now. Must not stress eat.

Plan for today is plenty of water and a leftover portion of pasta for lunch. Then it's the last German market visit of the season before it closes next week (sob!). Will limit myself to 2 beers and no food, it's all meat or dairy based anyway since they stopped doing the onion roses!

Have a lovely day everyone!

Another 2lbs down this morning so 8lbs for December Xmas Grin

Today’s food
B - weetabix with skimmed milk and a banana
L - lunch out - jacket potato with cheese and beans
D - out for dinner to a supposedly great steak place so steak and chips - saved all my points!
S - fruit

Have a good day all!

Ihatesundays · 12/12/2019 07:42

So weight loss is a cruel mistress.
I lost 0.1kg to take me to exactly 72kg - could have given me a few more grams!
Anyway this means I have reset my target to 69kg.
At the rate I am loosing it though it could take a year Crown Confused.
Big meal out tonight though!

JontyDoggle37 · 12/12/2019 07:43

Well done Worfs!
Down oh no!! That awful feeling when you know you’re next 🙈
Meg wow!! That’s incredible, well done!
Yesterday didn’t go entirely according to plan, did really well until the evening but on two hours sleep my body was just starving, so I ended up eating some French stick, so probably ended up about 300 calories over. Also didn’t manage quite as much water yesterday so must be better at that today.
However, still ended up with a small loss this morning, now at 12 stone 2.1, which means I’m 4.1lbs lighter than I was on Sunday!!
Cross trainer and weights this morning, I’ve got lunch out with a client but some good options for light meal so not worried and can have a very small dinner to compensate as well. Have a great day all!

7Worfs · 12/12/2019 08:38

Megs impressive result, well done!

cricket hope the school meeting goes well, I haven’t attended school in the U.K. so not sure about options - is there an alternative to daily attendance, where you study at home and just do exams?

Ecci · 12/12/2019 08:50

197.6 lbs this morning, up 0.2 lbs. I'm amazed and actually pleased as I had a Christmas do last night and was seduced by the mini stollen. They are so delicious they should be illegal.

cricketmum84 · 12/12/2019 09:10

@Ecci I love stollen! I've had a big marzipan one in the bread in for 6 weeks now still not opened it Cos I know once it's open I will devour it. It's best before is January though so think I might crack it open on Saturday night during the strictly final.

@7Worfs we could elect to home school however one of us would have to stop working. I'm the main earner so that's not going to be good at all and DH has a very fraught relationship with her so that wouldn't work either. There is a small chance we could get her moved to a small 14-16 college but not until September. Plus there are only 90 places a year for the entire city and they would look at attendance records as part of the decision process.

There is also an alternative provision within the academies trust that only has 160 pupils in total and focuses on mental health, Tiny class sizes and afternoons devoted to therapeutic activities which would be perfect but it's in a really bad area so she is refusing to even consider it. Which is a shame because it would be perfect for her!

Does anyone else have massive weight fluctuations? I seem to have stuck at 10 and a half stone then it went down to 10 st 3 but back up again at end of day ?

7Worfs · 12/12/2019 09:42

My weight fluctuates a lot in day, I can be 1.5kg heavier in the evenings.

Fingers crossed cricket, hopefully with some negotiation and reasonable compromise you’ll all have a solution for the new year 🤞🏼

WoollyFoolly · 12/12/2019 13:22

I've not been tracking for a few days, we're a house of lurgy here and it's only today that everyone is finally back in school. I'm knackered from looking after everyone!
I'm bobbling around on 12.1 now, I knew that 11 number was too good to be true! Work Christmas do tomorrow night and DHs birthday next week (although he doesn't like cake so at least that's easy!).
I have managed to avoid ALLLLL the Christmas goodies so far - I haven't bought a single pack of mince pies or stollen this year. I'll have to get some in at some point because we're hosting over Christmas but it's far easier to not buy it than it is to resist once it's in the house.

Baguetteaboutit · 12/12/2019 13:38

I'm half way down a jar of Nutella. The sooner this election is over and my family stop accusing one another of goose-stepping, the better. I'm laying tomorrow's weight gain at the feet of JC and BJ.

Tryingtwo · 12/12/2019 15:09

My plan for the day has unexpectedly been scuppered by my dgs playgroup Christmas party. 15 dc under 4 but I've been to weddings where there was less food!
The playgroup put on a really generous buffet including a cheese board(!) plus we were all asked to bring a dish, especially if from a different culture. I tried to stick to salad and fruit but ended up eating jerk chicken, samosas, bhaji, some unknown Albanian, Greek and German food and a large dish of Tiramisu made by the Albanian ex chef Grandad who was visiting his daughter for Christmas . His wife made sure we all had some - bloody lovely it was. Once she handed that round the other home made stuff had to be passed round and sampled, the German Mum and Grandma had made 3 or 4 plates full each. The only drink for adults was mulled wine (at 10.30am) I managed to pass on that as I was driving. This was my first Christmas at this playgroup but this must be the norm because they even provided plastic take out boxes for you to take home leftovers.

lilgreen · 12/12/2019 15:45

@MsTSwift only ever weigh at the same time. I weigh every morning after a wee but before breakfast and naked on the same spot on the hard bathroom floor . Everyone’s Wright goes up during the day but down again by morning usually. Sounds like you’ve started to lose again-well done.
I had my Christmas meal last night. Damage limitation included not eating the bread with the prawn cocktail, not eating the huge Yorkshire with my turkey and only eating 2 slivers of blue cheese and grapes and not the crackers with my cheese board. I drank water all night too as driving. Sounds awful but I was stuffed and had work this morning so wasn’t a hardship. Didn’t weigh this morning so will check tomorrow.

lilgreen · 12/12/2019 15:48

Today’s food:
B: boiled egg, toastx1
L: mixed salad, tbsp hummus, apple
D: baked salmon, vegetables

Egghead68 · 12/12/2019 17:00

Sounds like an amazing playgroup @Tryingtwo!

@cricketmum84 Crown Grin I like mushrooms but not that much!! Re your DD - can anything be done to persuade her to go/insist she goes to the academy with the small classes and emphasis on mental health? It does sound really good. Would/could you resort to cash bribery or similar? (I am not a parent so this may be a totally useless suggestion).

Megsmcgoo · 12/12/2019 17:01

Thank you! Very happy. Not going to weigh in now until Thursday morning so that I have a few days of damage limitation after the weekend.

How many of you are exercising? I find it very beneficial mentally but the scale slows right down for me which can be a bit demoralising especially when I definitely have weight to lose and not just tone up! I used to be a runner before a knee injury and I’d like to start again although very carefully

Egghead68 · 12/12/2019 17:18

Amazing loss @Megsmcgoo. I usually do around 5 exercise classes a week (did them before trying to lose weight too) although I have had 2 days off for a cold. I find it really helps my mental and physical health and I sleep better. I also can’t eat for the hour I’m exercising and it burns a useful amount of calories (I think 350-500 a time). I can’t recommend exercise enough.
