cricketmum84 · 30/11/2019 13:00

Morning all! And welcome to the December edition of lose 7lbs!

A huge to welcome to the newbies, long term followers and contributors and the lurkers!

I would dearly love to lose 7lbs in December but accepting that I'm probably going to relax things a little, have some chocolate or some cheese, mulled wine and stollen.

I will still be following ww and 16:8 most days. I'm also going to try stay mostly vegan with the exception of local eggs which I think should help me stay on track!

Stats are:
Dec starting weight: 18.13
Dec target weigh: 18.7
Loss for November: 3lbs
Loss for 2019: 6stone 5lbs

Happy December to all and let's get our festive groove on!

Evening all
Meg I exercise and always found it helped me BUT if you aren’t eating enough protein or drinking enough water to aid muscle repair your body will hoard it and you end up hanging on to weight, so might be worth checking those two.
Had lunch out with a client, had scoped the menu beforehand and chosen soup with a half sandwich and a salad, and then one I got there went for steak and chips! 🙈😂 however, I’ve downsized my dinner so I’m only 150 calories over for the day, and I did an hours workout this morning, and have played football for around 45 minutes with my son as well, so it’s cancelled out!

7Worfs · 12/12/2019 18:35

Re exercise - I’ve been taking it easy (6 months post-EMCS), with 20 minutes of fasted HIIT a few times a week. Currently on a December break though.

Before pregnancy I used to do weightlifting and plyometrics, so will gradually return to that when I’m fully recovered.

lilgreen · 12/12/2019 19:02

I find exercise doesn’t make as much difference as diet. Also it increases my appetite so I mostly do a brisk daily dog walk(40 mins-about 2.5/3 miles) and try to do a plank a few times a week plus squats when brushing my teeth or waiting for dinner to cook.

Ihatesundays · 12/12/2019 21:04

I’m currently 72kg and a few years ago I got down to 67kg. I am much smaller this time round because of exercise/muscles.

Megsmcgoo · 12/12/2019 21:23

Ok general consensus is to do it! Will start with some hiit I think while the weather is terrible and to ease myself in, I’ve done the body coach ones to death, any other recommendations? The fitness blender ones look good

twolungs · 12/12/2019 21:56

I've lost some weight! After stagnating for ages (and putting half a stone back on), I'm 150lbs, I think that's a 2/3lb loss this week.

Makes up for this crappy virus which meant I had to cancel two work events.

Ihatesundays · 12/12/2019 22:19

@Megsmcgoo fitness blender are really good!

DownUdderer · 13/12/2019 03:08

My dd is back to school today, she must have just had a short lasting bug. I’m grateful for that, I felt queasy but it could have been psychosomatic!

I’ve had a nice hike today, 6km across the beach and back again. My food today has been sensible. I’m drinking plenty of water.

Egghead68 · 13/12/2019 05:52

66.8kg. Yesterday was bad - ate a whole large bag of crisps on top of a day’s food and went 600 over. Onwards and upwards. Plan: try to stick to 1000 cals, circuits and spinning.

Having to buy some new bras today in smaller sizes Crown Sad

Megsmcgoo · 13/12/2019 07:34

Had a fab meal last night, I did eat what I wanted but didn’t go crazy, works Christmas do tonight!

B - Weetabix and banana with skimmed milk
L - tomato soup with 2 cracker breads
D - the options are turkey rolls with stuffing, roast potatoes, pasta salad, Greek salad and canapés so will choose the healthier options.

Will also have 5 single gin and slims and a glass of Prosecco (we have a welcome drink and vouchers) and then taking myself home for the 8am alarm tomorrow morning Xmas Envy

JontyDoggle37 · 13/12/2019 08:22

egg well done on the new bras!
meg well done on the restraint and good plans for the Xmas do.
This week has been AMAZING. I’ve lost another 0.4lbs since yesterday, meaning I’ve gone from 12st 6.2 on Sunday to 12st 1.7 today, can’t believe it. I’ve only had one large glass of wine since Saturday (two bottles less than usual) and I’m drinking water like it’s going out of fashion! Didn’t quite hve time for the full hours workout this morning so sacrificed the weights and did an extra seven minutes on the cross trainer, and also went at it at full power for all of those 37 minutes, not sure I’ll be able to walk tomorrow lol!!! Feel so motivated, I know the weight won’t keep dropping off so fast, but I feel so much better having got rid of some so quickly. Just need to improve my sleep now - I’ve got Fibromyalgia and have been put on Amitriptyline which is supposed to help improve sleep but so far it’s making me wake up more!!

cricketmum84 · 13/12/2019 08:34

Morning all from a slightly hungover and not very well behaved dieter! #sodititschristmas is in full swing.

I had seeded toast yesterday, hardly drank any water, then had my pasta although it was a very small portion. Then DDS wanted fish and chips for lunch so I had 3 pieces of battered halloumi with sweet chilli sauce. Had my 2 beers at the Christmas market but swiftly followed it with 4 mulled cherry wines with amaretto and a cheesy garlic bread slice. Oops.

Today will be a good day! Lots and lots of water. Salad for lunch and Linda McCartney shredded duck on little gem lettuce for dinner. Might try and break the fuzzy head with a gin and slim when I get home.

Off to battle with work now and try not to throw up!

@Egghead68 after speaking to the assistant principal it doesn't sound a good idea. She said there's only 12 in a year group and some of them are students DD has had issues with in the past so we are ruling that out for now.

AP is going to contact the 14-16 college and see if they will accept a managed move rather than us going through normal application process but I'm not holding out much hope as it was a flat no when I approached them myself. But who knows, maybe she will have more clout!

There is also the chance that they can put her case before a panel and get funding for a one to one tutor at home which would be good.

For now she has agreed to go in for music lessons next week but only if I take her and pick her up. Not sure how that is going to go down with work though!

Not being able to chew paid off - 0.3kg loss!
Silver linings and all that.
Just ate a huge bowl of porridge though, and will eat 1000kcal worth of soup today.

Currently 60.7kg, if I shift that 0.7 by end of December I’ll be very happy.

7Worfs · 13/12/2019 13:27

I’ve decided to buy a soup maker - any recommendations?
cricket which brand was yours, are you happy with it?

cricketmum84 · 13/12/2019 14:16

It's a Morphy Richards soup and smoothie (although I've never used it for smoothies). I absolutely love it.

You literally throw your raw ingredients in, choose smooth or chunky and 20 minutes later you have perfect hot soup.

The only disaster I've had was when I tried to do one with tinned carrots and they burnt and stuck to the bottom 😂 no more tinned veg in my soups lol!

It sounds really hard @cricketmum84. I hope they are able to come up with some sort of solution in time.

JontyDoggle37 · 13/12/2019 18:05

@7Worfs that’s good! I don’t really ‘get’ soup makers...I just bung veg, stock, chicken, seasoning in a pan and cook it for about twenty minutes and then use a stick blender quickly if I want it thicker...🤷‍♀️
@cricketmum84 I hope you get a solution soon, is it worth looking at local education charities/foundations and seeing if there might be some sort of grant to support home schooling in these circumstances?

Egghead68 · 13/12/2019 18:07

Down a back size up a cup size (in bras) - I’ll take that!!

lilgreen · 13/12/2019 19:08

Went up 1.5 lb after Christmas meal on Wed night. Was only .4 up this morning after a strict day yesterday . Been super busy at work today(primary school nativity madness) and eaten under 1100 cals. Absolutely shattered and DH our tonight so just about to have a cuppa and will shower and watch tv in bed (fall asleep) afterwards.

7Worfs · 13/12/2019 20:20

cricket Thanks, ordered the same brand, a model for soups and sautéing. Good tip about the canned veg, I’ll look up recipes.

Jonty I don’t have a blender and my soups aren’t very good, so hoping this contraption will make us all eat more soup.
I’m thinking it will also help with the lazy weaning. I literally give the baby stuff from my plate, no slaving in the kitchen here.

eggy Congrats on the boobs! Xmas Grin

DownUdderer · 13/12/2019 22:12

I might make soup today, I’ve got some cold roast chicken that needs eating up.

Egghead68 · 14/12/2019 06:26

66.6kg. It’s the weekend and I don’t have to work! Out for lunch so going to skip dinner (apart from a glass of wine in front of strictly). Brisk walk this morning. Happy Saturday everyone!

WoollyFoolly · 14/12/2019 08:10

Christmas do last night, much wine and gin (I don't drink gin!) and food. Weighed myself this morning just to see the damage, up 3lbs! I'm sure that'll go quickly though.
I'd love a cold brisk walk but it's raining here and I'm in my onesie and I'm too hungover 😵

Ihatesundays · 14/12/2019 08:14

2 naughty days - Christmas meal, cake at work and chocolates at work. No change on the scale though!
