After a mad increase in weight for no apparent reason I'm down 2lb

Happierwithouthim · 23/01/2020 07:53

Battery on scales perhaps wolf??

Not2bObvious · 23/01/2020 09:05

Hi all, been watching quietly from the sidelines as badly whacked out of it with bad back. Scales has just been horrible when I have been able to weigh but I 100% know it’s fluid retention as for once I’ve not overeaten for a good 10 days. I remember having this the last time my back went & once I went off meds, normal scale behaviour returned. Since I’ve been in soo much pain I couldn’t have given a shiny sh*te, forgive my vulgarity. I know by the way my clothes fit and my face looks if anything I’m losing a pinch, not gaining or maintaining. I’d love to lose my scale obsession, it’s my ultimate measure of success or failure. Anyway, glad to be back in the land of the living, well done everyone for keeping at it

Oh no sorry your back has gone again not. Medicine does weird things. Give zero fucks until the pain is under control, if you can

Happierwithouthim · 23/01/2020 18:20

Not sorry to hear your back is giving you grief, get well soon

Wolfcub · 23/01/2020 18:49

Oh Not I'm sorry your back is so bad. I agree with Life, ignore the scales

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/01/2020 20:06

Not, you poor thing hope you get better fast.

Woke up full of cold today, didn't even weigh myself, food has been ok ish.
Heading to bed soon to see of I can sleep it off, I have night nurse, so that should help.

Not2bObvious · 23/01/2020 21:10

Thanks guys, I’m (fingers x’ed!) out the other side now, first day no drugs😬 Today though I’m eating like a loon, sod it, teenager is driving me utterly insane and I’m eating my feelings. F* it

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 24/01/2020 06:32

If you haven't been eating enough you will be catching up. Consider it a carb refeed.

Beige lunch yesterday. 8x platter sandwiches. Bloat last night and up on scales.

Not2bObvious · 24/01/2020 06:45

That’s a great way to think about it life, thanks - that’s helped dampen down the guilt dread. Sorry about the Beige Bloaf (I love a bit of alliteration😉)
Scales has dropped down so the first decent weigh in for 10 days, felt able to put it in the Fitbit app. It looks so sparse in my weigh in section, 2 entries in 2 weeks. Back in the game!
Poor curvy, I hope the night nurse helped. That used to give me woeful nightmares but it might work for me now, reading a thread about people with insomnia and I’m tempted to try it. Awake since 4am the last 2 nights, but as I’m not in pain it’s fine. I say I’m not in pain but I am a tad quest after glut of QS, corn crisps and enough wine to give me a low level hangover. Can’t fix stoopid

Always hated taste of night nurse but loved the full sleep it gave you

Sts this morning
I always over eat on Thursday despite having a full lunch at 1pm when I get home to the dc I'm always starving & overeat

northender · 24/01/2020 18:18

Glad to hear you're improving not
Weighed this morning, another loss, 3 pounds, woohoo!
I knew I'd had a good week so am very pleased. In the gym classes I do I am feeling better than I have for months. So 10 pounds down this year in total.

northender · 24/01/2020 18:19

Hope your cold is improving & the night nurse gave you a good sleep Curvy

Not2bObvious · 24/01/2020 19:43

That’s is flipping brilliant north! Well done

Wolfcub · 24/01/2020 19:53

Well done north

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/01/2020 20:22

Great results North.
500 over today. Damm chocolate and biscuits

Not2bObvious · 24/01/2020 22:12

Over by a good 300 too here, damn all the nice junk - done now, hoping for a decent sleep & a more balanced day tomorrow. I dragged out my 10,000 steps so that’s at least something

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/01/2020 06:11

Draw a line not. There will be a scales flux then you can go back on track.

Up today.

Not2bObvious · 25/01/2020 06:45

For sure life, it was probably because I was able to stay out of bed after 6pm, the novelty of watching tv with himself & proximity to junk led to calorie overspend. The night before I had company over & again was up much later than my new normal (and elderly parent/teenage assbag drove me bonkers)
Got quite good at not eating between meals/after dinner for the 10 or so days I was bad. Not being able to easily get in/out of bed helped, although I’m not keen to repeat that! Haven’t weighed in yet but won’t flip out if there’s a flux

OP posts:
northender · 25/01/2020 08:24

not after being out of kilter for a few days it's bound to take a while to get back to normal

Not2bObvious · 25/01/2020 10:01

Down .8 so that’s good news. I’m down 3.6 since Monday, although I believe that was an unnatural high due to medication. So back to losing a little. Made egg muffins, handy to have in the fridge for a protein kick and tasty.

Thanks all.
Yes the night nurse helped, I only had a small amount left in the bottle when I looked on Wednesday night so went to the chemist on Thursday and brought the capsules.
Still feels like I'm walking in a fog.
Got take out for the kids last night, I knew that I wouldn't be able to stand for long doing dinner. I just had some toast.
I was in bed by 8:30pm.
Weight today 12s1lb.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday.

Happierwithouthim · 25/01/2020 13:28

I'd another sts but not a scrap of exercise this week so it's understandable

Glad you're feeling better not
North that's super going well done

northender · 25/01/2020 15:15

Tabata class done. Tough but really good.
Just had sourdough bread, brie & the last of my cranberry sauce from Christmas. A lovely treat.
Ordered the new Pinch of Nom book from the library for 60p & it arrived today. It looks good so far, has anyone else got it?

northender · 25/01/2020 15:18

Not do you mean like mini frittatas? That sounds a perfect snack idea. I might do some for this week
