Link to previous thread here: Half a stone or 3kgs off in September!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3679916-half-a-stone-or-3kgs-off-in-september

Can't quite believe it's time to start the October thread already!!

So here it is, our challenge to lose half a stone in October. Oldies, newbies and lurkers all welcome. We do a mix of diets/healthy lifestyles etc. I swapped ww for mfp last month to help me focus on nutrients rather than just calories and also follow 16:8 most of the time.

As per every month we ask for positivity, encouragement and motivation to be the best version of ourselves we can be!!

Stats for start of October for me are:

Starting weight: 19.3
Loss for Sept: 10lbs
Loss for 2018: 5st 13lbs

Goal for October: 18.7 - another 10lb loss.

See you all here tomorrow!!

So I’ve had a stomach bug and still not managed to lose one pound. So have managed not to lose anything this whole month!
Did just run 5k though.

Egghead68 · 30/10/2019 20:26

That is rubbish @Ihatesundays but well done on your run.

I am gaining weight for the last few days despite eating less than ever. Hoping for a big shift tomorrow.

Went off plan today so was
B: quark & fruit 400
L: Greek salad no dressing, few chips, small bit bread 600
D: diet gin and tonic 110
Spin class

DownUdderer · 31/10/2019 01:49

I’m down a pound this morning. I’m thrilled. It really puts me in such a good mood. I was strict with food the last two days.

I’m 11st 1, and I’m so close to being in the 10st bracket! Exciting! My app gave a little fanfare type of thing this morning because I reached a goal!

Good luck everyone.

cricketmum84 · 31/10/2019 07:02

Arrrrgggghhhh 19.2 this morning which means in October I have lost ONE SODDING POUND.

Right positive attitude for November. I'm going away to the lovely yorkshire seaside tomorrow until Monday so I imagine there will be fish and chips involved at some point! I'll be happy if I can maintain as there will be lots of walking.
Plan for today is
Lots of water and a peppermint tea when I get to work
Avoid the Halloween treats in the office!!
1pm - crackers with violife, rest of my baby plum tomatoes
8pm - cauldron Lincolnshire sausage in a finger roll and probably a few oven chips - kids are having hotdogs post trick or treating.

I'll get the November thread set up when I finish work later and link here :)

See you in November!!

Congratulations @Downudderer!

I’m 71.2kg this morning, down by 3.2kg from Oct 5th so this month’s goal achieved!

Thanks so much to @cricketmum84 for starting the threads and good luck everyone!

Egghead68 · 31/10/2019 07:08

Cross posted with @cricketmum84 - that is super frustrating after all your hard work. Hopefully there will be some big losses next month.

Baguetteaboutit · 31/10/2019 07:36

Down a little, 10 stone 11.75 - l hope it holds this time. I'm down 4.25 lbs for the month.

Nice work downudderer!

Where abouts are you going cricket? I'm absolutely convinced I can shiver off the calories of a bag of fish and chips at this time of year when we go to Saltburn.

Baguetteaboutit · 31/10/2019 07:37

Good work egghead!

Egghead68 · 31/10/2019 07:54

Thanks @Baguette. Congratulations too!

Mrscog · 31/10/2019 08:00

Hi everyone, I’ve maintained the whole month. Slightly annoyed with myself but I’m going to make loads of soup and have a half term push to get myself to target - it’s so close!

WoollyFoolly · 31/10/2019 08:02

Morning lovelies, 12.2 for me this morning so a loss of 5 lbs for October even though I seemed to plateau for most of it. Total loss so far is 2 stone 5 lbs. 9 lbs to go to get to my target of 11.7.

Oh @cricketmum84 that's so frustrating, especially as you seem to have so few calories! Still, a loss is still heading in the right direction. Go and enjoy your fish and chips and come back refreshed.
Congrats DownUdderer, baguette and egghead!

Baguetteaboutit · 31/10/2019 08:15

Oh, cricket, off topic but are you going to fashion the kids hotdogs into something that looks like severed fingers? I'm going to give it a go this year.

cricketmum84 · 31/10/2019 08:33

@Baguetteaboutit probably would if they were younger but I'm not sure they are really bothered 😂
We are going to Cayton Bay. Nice and exposed and bloody freezing 😂 will see if I can shiver off a few pounds.

Just to give you all a giggle we are having a Halloween fancy dress competition at work today! I've dug our an old little dead riding hood costume (in a 16-18) that hasn't fit for years. Which is great.... but now I have to walk through a busy shopping centre to get to my office... in a Halloween costume... at 9am 😂

OP posts:
7Worfs · 31/10/2019 08:44

Dead riding hood, this I’d love to see! Halloween Smile
Congrats to all October losses, and if you’ve plateau’d keep your spirits up, this too shall pass!
Don’t forget to drink your waters and herb teas. Brew

I ate less yesterday in anticipation of the morning weigh in - 65.3kg today, so October loss of 4kg! It was done in two bursts a week each, and I had a plateau for two weeks. EBF-ing a hungry baby burns A LOT of calories.

Egghead68 · 31/10/2019 08:49

Great @Wollyfoolly and @7worfs!

My fat stomach has shrunk a bit!

cricketmum84 · 31/10/2019 08:50

Haha I'll share a pic when I get to work toilets 😂

cricketmum84 · 31/10/2019 08:51

And I have Halloween nails.... love Halloween!!!

Lose 7lbs/3kg in October!
OP posts:
7Worfs · 31/10/2019 09:00

Fancy nails, cricket, hope you win the competition! Unrelated, I sight the success line on your palm - it’s very pronounced, all the long hours must pay off Smile

eggy your photo looks so much like me (down to the black leggings) I had to do a double take! Btw I’ve never had a completely flat stomach, even at size 8 and visible abs, always a bit of roundness to it 🤷‍♀️

beforeIhit30 · 31/10/2019 09:00

Morning all! Congrats on losses and here’s to a successful November (hopefully) Grin

Some stats:
Start date: 17 Sep
Oct loss: 4.4lb
Total loss: 7.2lb

I had a wobble early/mid-October so most of my loss came from the past fortnight, so I’m feeling really pleased at clawing it back! If I could lose at least another 5lb this month (Nov) that would be great.

Yesterday:
B: creamy coffees, sausages, eggs, tomatoes.
D: broccoli, mushrooms, cured ham and some cheddar.

Bit of a disorganised day as I didn’t eat much, but, I ate all fine things! Would just prefer a bit more veg.

Onesmallstep67 · 31/10/2019 09:35

Congratulations everyone, you're all doing so well. After a lot of plateaux mid month it seems that there's been lots of hard work paying off

I'm finishing the month 8lbs down. I'm still a tiny amount over 16st this morning so fingers crossed my November start weight will begin with a 15 tomorrow. I think last night's ice cream may have scuppered achieving that by today.

Have a wonderful day , I have a houseful of teenagers later for a Halloween sleepover so wish me luck !!

cricketmum84 · 31/10/2019 09:47

There you go 😂

OP posts:
cricketmum84 · 31/10/2019 10:00

@7Worfs ooh that's good to know! X

OP posts:
7Worfs · 31/10/2019 10:01

Oh that’s an amazing costume, you’ve got to win! 🔥 👑

Egghead68 · 31/10/2019 10:01

Love it @cricketmum84 and congratulations to everyone else on all the losses!

(I've never been a size 8 unfortunately @7Worfs so I don't know if my stomach ever goes flat - probably not!)

Happy Halloween and here's to a successful November!!

cricketmum84 · 31/10/2019 10:40

Someone has come as the Cheshire Cat... with the most amazing makeup. Think she will probably beat me to the title 😂
