Link to previous thread here: Half a stone or 3kgs off in September!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3679916-half-a-stone-or-3kgs-off-in-september

Can't quite believe it's time to start the October thread already!!

So here it is, our challenge to lose half a stone in October. Oldies, newbies and lurkers all welcome. We do a mix of diets/healthy lifestyles etc. I swapped ww for mfp last month to help me focus on nutrients rather than just calories and also follow 16:8 most of the time.

As per every month we ask for positivity, encouragement and motivation to be the best version of ourselves we can be!!

Stats for start of October for me are:

Starting weight: 19.3
Loss for Sept: 10lbs
Loss for 2018: 5st 13lbs

Goal for October: 18.7 - another 10lb loss.

See you all here tomorrow!!

Well done @cricketmum84 and @beforeihit30!

AndTheyLivedHappilyEverAfter · 25/10/2019 19:58

Hi everyone,

You're all doing so well. feel huge since having last weekend off and I've been up and down all week. Ive still only lost 2 lbs this month. I've just wanted to eat ALL THE TIME! Some days I've managed 1000 cals but I've got up to 1800 on other days. I feel like I need a real push to keep going or I'm going to fall off the wagon. I think planning my food for the weekend will help.

Ihatesundays · 25/10/2019 20:05

Not sure I am going to even manage one pound off this month. Trying to be really good. Ran 5k last night.
Really really want to lose quite a bit more. Stupid plateau

Egghead68 · 25/10/2019 22:27

Keep going both of you! I think lots of people on here (definitely me) have had plateaus that drag on for ages but then one day the scales do shift. It will be worth it!

Planning and running both sound good.

Good luck!

DownUdderer · 26/10/2019 03:51

I’ve done a good walk every day this week. My step count is great.

Egghead68 · 26/10/2019 07:21

Great @Downudderer!
72.6kg today (.2kg down). Would be so good to break 72kg by Oct 31st.

Baguetteaboutit · 26/10/2019 08:05

11 stone 11.75. so down 1.25lbs from two days ago. Which is magic because I had such a hungry day yesterday and kept grabbing bits and pieces between meals, including the sweets earmarked for the Haloweeners on Thursday Blush

Yesterday was
B:porridge with fruits L: Homemade tomato soup with a gazillion hidden veg blended in for the kids who are on half term now D: puy lentil coconut dahl s. Sweets, banana, apple, tumeric tea and an ignored sausage on ds3's plate. Grin

Baguetteaboutit · 26/10/2019 08:13

10 stone 11.75! I'm so used to seeing an 11 stone number.

Ihatesundays · 26/10/2019 09:27

@Baguetteaboutit seeing a 10 is amazing

7Worfs · 26/10/2019 09:59

I feel moving from 14:10 to 15:9 really helped with my plateau.

A lot of rain today, but have to leave the house to choose new carpets. 😒

Ihatesundays · 26/10/2019 10:00

I was doing 16:8 in the summer. It’s a struggle to do with work but maybe I should just make the effort again.

7Worfs · 26/10/2019 10:04

I’m only able to do it because I’m on mat leave and on baby schedule (going to bed at 6pm), must be quite daunting for normal adult working life.

beforeIhit30 · 26/10/2019 13:27

Great @Baguetteaboutit!

So windy here. Haven’t gone anywhere! Just pottering and doing laundry and such. It’s supposed to settle a bit next week which would be welcome. I’ve also found some postnatal exercises on my favourite site (Fitness Blender) si I’ll try some of those in the next two weeks hopefully to start gradually moving back into exercise.

Today:
B: creamy coffee, celery, pate, salami, Port Salut, Boursin.
D: I will be making seasoned chicken thighs, and having some butter roasted Brussel sprouts on the side and some other veg (will roast whatever needs using up, probably some tomatoes, green peppers).
S: if I have one, it will be yoghurt, peanut butter and strawberries.

Egghead68 · 26/10/2019 17:53

B: 1 slice toast with nut butter 300
L: carrot soup soda bread butter 600
S: Doritos & Maltesers 385 (utterly tasteless - bought in desperation on a train station and not worth the calories
D: will be fruit salad and milk

beforeIhit30 · 26/10/2019 19:12

My day changed, maybe I should stick to recording my day at the end!

Today (revised):
B: celery, salami, Boursin, port salut.
L: keto cocoa ‘cake/bread’ with peanut butter and cream. Not sure I would make it again but wanted a different vehicle for my peanut butter!
D: making butter/olive oil roasted mixed veg and Brussel sprouts.

Have been a bit ‘off’ today, think it’s hormonal, I think eating a big bowl of buttery veg and a cup of tea will be very comforting. Might have some bacon in the fridge, if I do I’ll cook that and add it in.

DownUdderer · 27/10/2019 01:17

I’m down a pound. That’s 7lbs. I’m shocked. If I hadn’t written my weight down every day I would not believe it. I’ve walked every day this week more than 10k steps every day. I’ve cut way down on how much cheese I’m eating. I’m edging closer to getting into the 10st bracket. I’m happy and relieved and can’t wait to loose another 7lbs, I’m close to getting down a dress size. I have a big muffin top, I don’t know how to loose it, I’ll try some YouTube videos this week if I get a chance.

Egghead68 · 27/10/2019 06:44

71.8kg! Down from 74.4kg at the start of the month.
Plan
B: Fruit & possibly porridge (200-450)
L: Falafel salad 450
D: Cheese sandwich 450 (on the run).

Looking forward to having time to exercise tomorrow finally (crazy week).

Hope everyone has good days.

7Worfs · 27/10/2019 09:18

Very well done, @DownUdderer and @Egghead68 Halloween Smile

I’m also down on yesterday, really mindful of every bite when I am too wiped to exercise.

Did a 16- hour fast thanks to the clock change Halloween Grin

WoollyFoolly · 27/10/2019 09:26

Amazingly I’m down to 12.2 today, was not expecting that at all, I wasn’t really tracking yesterday. I fasted until lunch but then had a huge portion of chicken pie and roast potatoes for tea.
I’m having water with a slice of lemon and a pot of earl grey tea for breakfast, I think I don’t drink nearly enough water so making an effort to include more.
Well done @DownUdderer, @Egghead68 and @7worfs on all your losses too!

7Worfs · 27/10/2019 10:09

You sleeping better, @WoollyFoolly?

WoollyFoolly · 27/10/2019 10:24

Not really. The wool duvet is much better though, I am mostly able to stay under it all night! Still wake up a few times a night though. How about you?

cricketmum84 · 27/10/2019 10:25

Morning all. Hope you are all having good weekends? Am still sticking to 16:8 rigidly and eating well but scales are still stuck. Although I can definitely see a difference in my stomach in the last few weeks.

Yesterday was a wholemeal pitta with cottage cheese and black pepper for lunch. Then 2 slices of mushroom pizza for dinner, it was a bit greasy though and made me feel a bit sick!

Out for dinner today at a pub grub type place. Veggie options aren't looking great though. All either cheese or pastry!

7Worfs · 27/10/2019 11:47

cricket scales will start moving soon, great that you can see change in your body. Enjoy the pub meal Wine

Woolly Sleep still crap, I’m really hoping to improve soon as he just turned 5mo and I’ll start BLW in a month

WoollyFoolly · 27/10/2019 13:50

I hate to say it but don't pin your hopes on weaning, ime it makes little difference. My terror didn't really start to sleep better until 12 months.

7Worfs · 27/10/2019 14:50

Oh no 🤭
