Hello Lovely People

There are 13 weeks/95 days until 2020. I for one want to greet it feeling my best! Feeling healthy happy and vibrant!

So following on from the previous monthly heathy eating & weight loss threads, here’s October’s. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates or are just happy to maintain.

The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

Link to Septembers Thread

Myself, I will continue to:-

  • follow a Low Carb Mediterranean diet as advocated by Dr Michael Mosley. It’s great for your heart health as well as keeping blood sugars in check.
  • Intermittent Fasting/IF
  • Calorie Counting
  • Eat Mindfully and address emotional blocks as and when they arise.
  • Meal Planning
  • Use a tracker such as MFP.
  • Drink plenty of Water
  • Mantra is I’m not on a diet, nothing is banned, I do sustainable healthy eating.

How do you intend to lose/maintain?

Any tips you’d like to share?

Come on ladies, let’s be awesome 😎

Mungomango · 23/10/2019 09:15

Well done downudderer! A whole stone, that's awesome.

I'm up a pound this week Confused I've been sick since Friday and I'm very bored of it now! There may have been some comfort eating going on Blush. Really hoping I wake up feeling healthier tomorrow.

BustedDreams · 23/10/2019 09:43

Good Morning!

@MrsJonesAndMe The sunny weather is a lovely bonus. Sounds like you’ve done your best under difficult circumstances.

@SunshineCake hope you’re feeling better in yourself today. Hope your daughter does ok at the GP. Sending a hug.

@fallfallfall only 8 days left. Just where has the month gone 😲. I will create November’s thread in the coming days. There is also a WhatsApp group for those who’d like to join us.

@DownUdderer that’s fantastic! Well done!

@Mungomango hope you feel better soon!

Has anyone else noticed the tag facility is broken.

Have a good day whatever you’re doing.

Hi all

I'm stuck in with a vomiting child and constipated toddler. Not a good combination. I have comfort eaten already!

Well done @downudder

@busteddreams - infuriating when stuff don't work!

Hope you're all having a better day than here!

SunshineCake · 23/10/2019 21:29

How are you and the children @MrsJonesAndMe?

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/10/2019 21:31

Alive Grin Thanks for asking. Guessing in for another long day tomorrow.

How are you lovely?

SunshineCake · 23/10/2019 21:34

In a lot of pain with my back and leg and not hopeful for my weigh in tomorrow. I have lost the 2lbs I put on earlier though. I want to lose 1.5lb then I'll drop down a stone marker.

DownUdderer · 24/10/2019 01:22

I’ve dropped a pound! Wow! I was plateauing for a few weeks, so it feels exciting!

Mungomango · 24/10/2019 09:22

I love how just one pound can be exciting! Same here, I'm down a pound from yesterday. It's good to celebrate the small wins!

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/10/2019 11:16

Ah no, any better this morning @SunshineCake.

DS definitely on the mend as he's in the asking for craft stuff while I'm trying to do other stuff phase Grin

I'm down a bit too, but lets see if I can get on an even keel for it to stick!

Well done @DownUdderer and @Mungomango

Hope you are OK @BustedDreams Still at the cottage?

BustedDreams · 24/10/2019 12:45

More will power than me then @BustedDreams Child in the bouncing off the wall but not well enough to go to school stage Hmm

SunshineCake · 24/10/2019 20:00

I'm still the same weight but better than being up.

Mostly been okay with my back and hip except for two lots of sudden sharp pain and one lot of not being able to put weight on my foot.

I'm sat next to a box of biscuits waiting until I am hungry to open them Shock. The change in me is amazing.

Mungomango · 25/10/2019 03:59

So much control Sunshine! I still struggle with sweet things, it tends to be all or nothing! I have one square of dark chocolate every day and that's fine, but as soon as I get started on milk chocolate all bets are off! Having said I took the kids for ice cream today and I just had a curly wurly which I don't think is tooo many calories

fallfallfall · 25/10/2019 05:20

it's not easy saying no to every treat.
and my challenge is cardio.
food choices are fine.
hand healing nicely.
decent weather encouraging.
i'll weigh myself soon.

Foreverlexicon · 25/10/2019 05:37

Hello all
I need a good catch up. Life got in the way and I’m a lot more mentally healthy when it comes to food. However my actual choices haven’t been good and my work trousers are getting tight.

I’m going to start making an effort now to actually lose some. I’d like to be back to my old comfort weight by Christmas which is 9-12 pounds (not too sure what I weigh right now).

I’m just going to focus on making good choices without being obsessive. Spoken to the girlfriend about it as we’ve fallen into a habit of cooking rather elaborate, fancy meals and deserts when we’re together which isn’t helping Blush

I’ve got an awkward day as I’m on late lates (5pm-3am). I need to find a way to manage my food choices on these days as I usually get up early then have a sleep in the afternoon (I suck at lie ins!) but it essentially means I eat an extra meal.

Today I intend to eat;
Breakfast - nakd bar
Lunch - soup and ryvitta
Before work - weetabix with dried fruit and nuts
At work - weird veggie and bean soup I made and fruit
After work - bagel thin with jam

Comes to aprox 1300 cals. Also going to ride and go for a run.

BustedDreams · 25/10/2019 08:25

Good Morning Lovelies

More baking today. OH likes to take bakes to his hobby and the group has expanded. I don’t mind and I know I can resist the spoon Grin

@SunshineCake how’s the back? Hope it’s eased up a bit.

@Mungomango nicely swerved. Only about 115 cals in a CW. Not bad for a yummy treat.

@fallfallfall

Pleased to hear your hand is healing. It does seem to be taking some time lass.

@Foreverlexicon Hello lovie, welcome back! It’s so hard when in new relationship and the food of love is so seductive.

Today is leek and broccoli soup. Pan fried tuna steaks, spicy rice and salad. Greek yoghurt & raspberries. I coffee with cream, white tea, jug lemon water.

Weekend nearly upon us :)

Hi everyone

Can I just chat ?

SunshineCake · 25/10/2019 17:49

The last few years have been horrific. Not ready to say much but involved therapy, court cases, heart break x two, weight and health issues, parenting difficulties.

I was lucky enough to see one person about something who then helped me see the right person and this happened twice with completely different things but the one thing right now helping with getting the weight off and fixing life long eating, well difficulties from teenage years, have been you guys on this thread. You ignored my tantrum when I wasn't losing any weight.

I have no idea what has happened but if I am hungry, I eat. I've learnt the signals again. I no longer hate myself if I eat as it seems I am eating for hunger and not just because I am sad, bored, upset etc. I have eaten my feelings twice but didn't beat myself up.

I am sad if no loss but no longer have the huge reaction to weight going up.

Thank you.

And I didn't eat the biscuits..

BustedDreams · 25/10/2019 20:17

Aw, well done on the emotional and physical benefits you're giving yourself!

fallfallfall · 25/10/2019 23:26

Sunshine, good for you for learning a little bit about yourself and how food fits in.
all's well enough over here. healthy food and decent non excessive portions.
walking daily.
busted the bone's broken in two spots. the dr said, 8-12 weeks for that particular bone. so i'm babying it...certainly no yoga. after all i want it to heal without surgery.
