Hello Lovely People

There are 13 weeks/95 days until 2020. I for one want to greet it feeling my best! Feeling healthy happy and vibrant!

So following on from the previous monthly heathy eating & weight loss threads, here’s October’s. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates or are just happy to maintain.

The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

Link to Septembers Thread

Myself, I will continue to:-

  • follow a Low Carb Mediterranean diet as advocated by Dr Michael Mosley. It’s great for your heart health as well as keeping blood sugars in check.
  • Intermittent Fasting/IF
  • Calorie Counting
  • Eat Mindfully and address emotional blocks as and when they arise.
  • Meal Planning
  • Use a tracker such as MFP.
  • Drink plenty of Water
  • Mantra is I’m not on a diet, nothing is banned, I do sustainable healthy eating.

How do you intend to lose/maintain?

Any tips you’d like to share?

Come on ladies, let’s be awesome 😎

I was down a pound this morning. I’d read the September thread and someone on there said weigh yourself after you’ve been to the toilet twice! That’s what I did! Grin

Today’s going well so far. I look much better in this outfit than a couple of weeks ago. I caught sight of myself in a reflection and I was really all wobbly in the tummy area, and whilst I still am wobbly it’s now 10lbs less.

I’m going to have prawns, avocado and a bit of mozzarella for lunch.

Good Morning Lovelies

Here it is, a brand new month to spend how you see fit. I love a new month. So much promise and opportunity, here’s hoping I maintain the motivation to get the full potential!

Yesterday was on track apart from not having chicken and it being a veggie day (have a couple a week anyway).

Today homemade soup for lunch, cod and cauli mash, peas later. Might do a cheese sauce. Coffee with cream, white tea and a jug of lemon water. ACV has gone by the way side as I felt it was upsetting my stomach (will try it again at some point to check s still have half a bottle left)

New Fitbit arrived yesterday (m original one would no longer sync and was only about 10 months old), it’s a Versa Light and I can wear it when swimming.

@DownUdderer That was me Grin. I never weigh unless I’ve ‘been’ before eating or drinking anything as it really affects my weight. Today as I’ve had a glass of water & cup of tea and not had any toilet action I’m using yesterday’s weigh in as a starting point - 142lbs.

Great news on the fitting of your outfit. It’s awesome when that happens and so motivating. Your lunch sounds delicious 😋

Morning all and happy new month. I'm weighing in this morning at 161.8lbs which is 42.5lb down in 3 months. I'd like to get to 155lbs by the end of the month.

Mix of 20:4 and low carb (low carb hasn't been going great lately tbh) and now have added in exercise. Happy October everybody!

Good morning @cheesenpickles That is fantastic progress. Sensible goal btw. You can do it! I do about 17-7. I’m going to try to up the exercise a bit too, wouldn’t hurt or not much anyway Grin Too many carbs and too much dairy stalls me so I’m being mindful around portion size.

Morning! And hello to a new month!

Weighed in at 12st 3.4 this morning. A 2lb loss from last week and 18lbs for September. If I lose half of that this month I’d still be happy. Still away away from my goal!

I couldn’t use my Fitbit @BustedDreams the strap gave me a rash Shock

Thanks for the welcome Smile

Starting weight this month: 8 st 12.6 which is much better than I thought it’d be. I lost 5lbs last week which I was really surprised about because I’d gone over my points every day. I’ve put 2lbs back on but that’s ok because I know I’ve had a rotten week and I’m just going to carry on. If I could lose 1 lb a week this month I’d be over the moon. I’ve got everything pointed out for the day, so just need to stick to it!

Btw I know 8 12 doesn’t sound big at all, but I’m really short and had been 8 stone for years until a relationship broke down and I got through it by eating cake!! ExP has been gone for 2 years now but the extra stone is still sitting around my middle. I just want all my clothes to look better. It’s almost all vanity but I guess there’s a little health in there too Blush

Happy October and what a wet start so far! Good luck to all. I've had 2 miles of walking so far and a flapjack with seeds. Now going to get my jacket and salad done. I am starving!

Just seen it was @BustedDreams too. Sorry boss. Not trying to steal your thunder !! Grin.

I was very shocked I was down this morning. I actually think October might be the month I see 11 stone something on my scales for the first time in a long time.

I broke fast an hour early today and I’m trying my best to drink water instead of fitting in another breakfast. I’ll try and keep busy doing some laundry.

I’m out for a hike in a bit. I’ll aim for 10k steps. I listen to audiobooks when I walk otherwise I find it boring. My fitness levels don’t hold me back just my boredom levels! I try to hike new paths as often as I can find them, I lucky because I have lots of options. Bush paths or beach or coastal.

Good Morning.

@Awittyusernameishardtofind yes I know what you mean. One of my earlier fitbits used to cause a rash on my arm. I found Fitbit One where you clipped it to clothing (worn clipped to bra) was the best one but they no longer do these. So far so good with the Versa. Not wearing it continuously so hopefully won’t make my arm sore.

@MikeHannigansStripyShirt I totally get where you’re coming from and you absolutely are doing the right thing. I was very similar in that I was a very similar weight to you as your lightest and was for years then in a relatively short time I was 4.5 st heavier Blush. I don’t think I will ever get to my original weight (humongous boobies) but I am 2st down and hope to get another 1.5 st off.

@MrsJonesAndMe yes is proper raining here too, luckily we don’t need to go out until the weekend so not caused us any disruption yet.

@flametrees a warm welcome. I’m sure you were being ironic but please don’t starve yourself. I know what you mean though because if I eat over 1200 cals a day now I gain. I am petite and small framed, not as active as I was etc, but still, I need to be very mindful of portion sizes. However I don’t deprived. I make healthy choices so I’m not drinking my calories with soda or alcohol. Just a healthy balanced Mediterranean style menu.

@DownUdderer hope you didn’t get too wet in the rain! I’m a fan of audio books. Useful at times to keep the boredom at bay.

Today it’s salad and soup (not in same bowl). Spag Bol without the spaghetti (use veg) 1 Coffee with cream p, white tea, jug of lemon water.

Hope you all stay safe & dry in all this rain.

Morning all.
I haven’t had the best couple of days intake with pie leftovers and had a bit of a junky tea last night but I’ve had none of the disordered style eating which is more important right now really. Especially given I’ve been on restdays and had a bit of an anxious day yesterday which is usually a big trigger.

One more day off for me then back to work. I’m just trying to be reasonable right now and then I can cut down on stuff if I need to 🙂

@Foreverlexicon good morning. Hope the anxiety settled somewhat and that you enjoy your rest day. I don’t think it’s as wet today.

It’s sunny here (Australia) so it was a lovely walk. It was all up hill, I’d forgotten it was like that! So that was great exercise for me. I’ve finished my audiobook so I’ll have to choose a new one. I get them is an app from the library, which is awesome.

SunshineCake · 02/10/2019 09:26

@Foreverlexicon I agree with you about the way you eat being more important than what you eat as I am going through similar. I have lost the hate of myself for wanting to eat and have finally got back the feeling of knowing when I am hungry.

I was the same weight today but ironically I think it is because I am not eating enough. I could use help with this as I am eating what I feel I need, if I am peckish I will have a snack and always have a decent evening meal plus I am always having three meals a day.

This is about some one having a similar problem and some suggestions.
