100 days....

Will take me from now til Christmas Day.
I'm posting here for accountability.

No chocolate, cakes, biscuits, sweets, crisps, nuts, desserts, cider Hmm

Focus will be on 2/3 nutritious meals daily and hopefully going cold turkey on all the crap will make it easier to manage.

I'm not capable of having "A little bit" or "just one". So this is the plan. 100 days.

I'll weigh in tomorrow and take my measurements and aim to do this every 10 days.

And we're off! Grin

Evening all!

This weekend has not been good. Well, it was very good, just not from a healthy diet point of view.

I am setting myself a mini target of Halloween. No more snacking, biscuits, cake, booze. Also no more sugary breakfasts. If I can get to Halloween then I reckon I'll be able to resist going totally crazy over Christmas.

Hopefullysmart · 22/09/2019 20:26

Hi!

I'm still on it! DH had the aforementioned cake to save my guilt! I had one glass of wine Fri and Sat night and a gin last night but very healthy meals - omelettes, stir fry, salmon & mushroom risotto. Still 2 meals daily and generally within 8 hrs. And no contraband whatsoever - I even passed on the teeny tiny piece of tablet that came with a coffee in a cafe today Halo

Oh I hope so much that I can stick to this! It still feels very doable so far so fingers crossed!

Good solution re the cake Smile

Sounds like you are doing brilliantly. I'm on it again now, halloween is 39 days away and I want to break my sugar habits and lose 3kg in that time. Should be do-able if I take it seriously.

Hopefullysmart · 22/09/2019 21:39

Good luck beela. The sugary breakfasts were doing me in before I'd even got started most days because I woke craving them. By cutting out breakfast completely it is setting me up well for the day. Just tea now.

@Hopefullysmart I didn't fall off the wagon either (but having a little gin now). I feel quite the annoying martyr by saying no to stuff. Everyone including my husband is shocked.

Shall we weigh in Monday morning as this is our first week? Shock

Hopefullysmart · 22/09/2019 22:16

Me too HelloAgainYou Smile A pink one with diet lemonade 🤩 I'm going to weigh in every 10 days so Thurs for me.

HelloAgainYou · 23/09/2019 07:25

I weighed this morning. I couldn't help myself. A loss of 7lbs but half will be water. I'm super happy although I'm doing Keto and Keto flu (I'm assuming that's what it is) is a killer Confused I know I'll be disappointed next week when the loss isn't as great, so I hope I don't stray.

I really really want this to work for me.

DownUdderer · 23/09/2019 07:27

Hi, I’ll join if that’s ok. I’m doing 16:8 intermittent fasting and today is day 4 for me. I found this morning really hard but I still persevered! I had fruit for breakfast and hummus and crackers and babybell for lunch. I’m feeling ready for dinner already but it’s only 4:25pm! (I’m in Australia).

I’ve cut out snacks. And Coca Cola. I was out of control for a few months with snacking.

I’m currently 12 st 4. And it’s the heaviest I’ve ever been. I’m dreaming of being 10st.

MorgenMuffel · 23/09/2019 07:33

Sorry for going awol, had a funeral to go to at the end of last week.

Well done everyone for being so good! I had a bit of a wobbly first week but lost all which is fab. Hoping to be better st resisting the treats this week as if I have one then all hell breaks loose and I can't stop!

MorgenMuffel · 23/09/2019 07:35

*3lb not all...wouldn't it be great to lose it all in a week Grin

Hopefullysmart · 23/09/2019 08:03

Well done on your losses HelloAgain and Morgan! Star Welcome DownUdderer, good luck!

I'm still clinging on to the wagon. Tough first week though as I struggled to get into the right mindset and convince my inner pig that I need to start losing weight NOW, not after that slab of cheese.

I'm most definitely eating a bit less than usual though, and have been making much healthier choices most of the time, so it could be worse! I've found my kitchen scales now so am going to be weighing this week. I have also decided I'm giving up alcohol until Thanksgiving, so two months of no booze should help.

I'm going to do some meal planning before I do the weekly shop tomorrow, as I always feel more in control when I know what I'm supposed to be eating.

Congratulations to the losers!

beela · 23/09/2019 22:06

Evening all.

Today was good. I am not calorie counting (I'm doing no-s) but I have had 3 healthy meals and no snacks. I did have some blackberry and apple crumble after my tea but it was mostly just stewed fruit so I'm not going to feel too bad about that.

Feeling determined now.

DownUdderer · 24/09/2019 01:05

II definitely have to plan ahead what I’m going to eat otherwise I get a bit panicked that I can’t decide what to have because I feel too hungry! Yesterday I suddenly felt ravenous and where I’d normally think about having a biscuit (but actually have half a packet of chocolate digestives) so I quickly had a small handful of nuts. They were filling.

Onthebrink67 · 24/09/2019 08:45

Tough first week so didn’t really happen for me but yesterday was ok and feeling ready to really prioritise weight loss this week. Wedding anniversary tomorrow though so may need to accept that won’t be great but it’s what I do day to day that puts the weight on.

beela · 24/09/2019 10:26

@Onthebrink67 happy anniversary Smile

You are totally right, one blow out won't make you fat, just like one exercise class won't make you skinny. It's the daily habits that make the difference.

Onthebrink67 · 24/09/2019 19:36

Thanks Beela though I would love it if one exercise class made me skinny Smile

Hopefullysmart · 24/09/2019 22:17

Hi everyone just checking in. Still on it, no contraband thus far and whilst not tempted, I did find today a little harder than I have up 'til now...could just be initial enthusiasm waning but I definitely noticed hunger today....

Weigh in is Thursday, fingers tightly crossed that I've made a dent/start... I've been eating carefully but not excessively strict so I really need to see if what I'm doing is "enough".

Haven't had a lot of time to exercise so going to focus a bit more on that.

Keep going everyone Smile

I’m too nervous to measure my waist area, I don’t have a waist where it used to be because I’ve gone into an apple shape, but I’m hoping in a few weeks to try on some d jeans to see if they fit!

DownUdderer · 25/09/2019 03:04
  • old jeans
Hopefullysmart · 25/09/2019 19:47

Was it really only 10 days ago that I started this thread? 😫😫😫

Weighday tomorrow....I'm expecting good things as not an ounce of chocolate, crisps, sweeties, cakes, biscuits, desserts or cider have passed my lips!

Very low day today too so surely I'll be pleases tomorrow!

Hope everyone is doing well, keep going Smile

Crossing fingers Hopefully Grin

Swisskit · 25/09/2019 23:16

I've just started on a no sweet stuff no snacks kind of diet. Hoping to stick to under 1700 calls per day and that way lose 1lb a week.

beela · 25/09/2019 23:37

Well done @Hopefullysmart, it sounds like you have been saint like Halo good luck tomorrow!

I have been pretty much on track today, apart from 2 chewy holiday sweets, one chocolate button, and a shot of sloe gin. We'll see on Friday.

DownUdderer · 26/09/2019 03:26

I’m down two pounds :) I’m happy and relieved!
