Will take me from now til Christmas Day.
I'm posting here for accountability.

No chocolate, cakes, biscuits, sweets, crisps, nuts, desserts, cider Hmm

Focus will be on 2/3 nutritious meals daily and hopefully going cold turkey on all the crap will make it easier to manage.

I'm not capable of having "A little bit" or "just one". So this is the plan. 100 days.

I'll weigh in tomorrow and take my measurements and aim to do this every 10 days.

And we're off! Grin

Hi ladies!

Well I put my trusty jeans on this afternoon and I cannot move in them. I’ve put about a stone on over summer so I figure if I put it on in 6 weeks, I should be able to lose it in 6 weeks?! Hmm so I’m in. My weakness is red wine and anything savoury so no booze or snacks and I’m going to try cut out most carbs.

Hi all, hope you all had a good day.

No contraband here - just v. small healthy lunch, could-do-better-but-still-just-acceptable dinner and 2 small apples when I started feeling woozy around 11am and 5pm (I don't eat dinner til around 7).

I'm only fleetingly missing sugar/snacks etc but nothing like I'd have expected. I have a big holiday booked for next summer and a fab wardrobe to wear, however it's full of aspirational purchases so I really need to stick to this.

3 days down, bring on day 4! Good luck tomorrow everyone Grin

Oh can I join in please?

I don't have a lot of weight to lose, but really need to get my snacking and sugar habits under control before the massive tins of quality street start appearing in the office - otherwise I really will have a lot to lose come January. Cold turkey (and sugar headaches) might be the only way.

I'll start right this minute by not having a couple of squares of chocolate before I go to bed.

I'm not doing too badly so far. Reasonably healthy and no random snacks, which is a good start. I do need to fish my kitchen scales out of whatever black hole they are currently in though, as I very strongly suspect I am having over-large portions. I will deal with reducing portion size next week though, once my body has got over this weeks shock of no crappy snacks.

Today I had:

B - Greek yogurt and blueberries
L - 2 boiled eggs, dozen cherry tomatoes, half a large avocado, slice of rye bread.
D - Huge green salad, pulled pork, cornbread muffin.

Hi of course you can beela, and hi to steslee too Smile

Totally agree, better to get a handle on it this side of Christmas...also if I wait til afterwards, I'll have zero chance of getting anywhere close to my target come next summer.

I've not been headachey so far, fingers crossed I dodge that side effect.

Welcome and good luck!

I was quite horrified when I got weighed how much the weight had crept up. I'm usually a stone lighter when I decided to take things in hand. So I've got to lose that stone first and then push on. I'm trying to watch lots of diet programs like my 600-lb life to motivate me

Will be worth it though. Your target and timescales are similar to mine. That's why I need to get a handle on it this side of Christmas....the months just fly by and already I'm working out my weekly losses and panicking I won't have long enough from now til summer!

Welcome and good luck Smile

I'm doing rubbish however I'm signing up to Slimming World in the morning, I don't plan to follow it because I prefer intermittent fasting but I need to weigh in officially.

It does should l annoy me that I should be able to do it myself but I find if I'm not accountable to anyone then I keep postponing getting on the wagon.

Day 4 for me too: I've gone pretty militant. One slim fast shake in the day and a carb free dinner in the evening. I'm getting used to it!

@Hopefullysmart @melmos we can do this!!

Report
Hopefullysmart · 19/09/2019 21:25

Yep we got this! Grin

Food for today has been 2 slices of toast w/ proper peanut butter (1 for b'fast 1 for lunch)
1 apple
200g pasta with cherry toms and 20g light pesto

Haven't felt hungry once and I can't believe how quickly I'm becoming accustomed to no crap.

And there's no judgement here so please don't anyone stay away for fear of that - I can't imagine anyone on this thread is having their first crack at weight loss; we all know how hard it is. I just NEED to do it this time.

Keep going everyone!

I wasn't perfect today but better that I have been. Resisted all snacks until a sneaky jaffa cake at 5pm.

I really wanted something mid-morning but I held strong until lunchtime!

Ugh, derailed by cookies. My mother came to lunch today all excited because she'd found a packet of Doppel Keks in Aldi and she'd remembered how much I loved them as a kid. I hadn't had one since Germany circa 1989. They were still delicious. And 140 calories each.

Apart from that rather significant deviation I was all about the veggies and healthy stuff though Grin

Will do better tomorrow.

Feeling proud of myself today as I resisted a custard doughnut yesterday!

I've just read my post from yesterday and there's a few extra words in there. Reminds me to proof read and not trust my phone not to guess what I want to say!

Anyway, I've just been and signed up to SW, I bought a 12 week countdown which takes us to 13th December so I have commitment in place until almost Christmas which is great.

The number on the scales wasn't pretty, I've gained exactly 2 stone since March so need to lose that and then an extra one to take me to target, in 23 years I've lost count of how many times I've lost and gained that bloody 2 stone.

Dieting is the easy bit, if anyone has any words of wisdom to stop me putting it all back on again then please share.

I'm really hoping that joining a Friday morning group I'll keep up with the motivation, I find it too easy to not go and weigh when it's an evening especially in the darker months, I'm often in my pj's by 6pm.

I have to drive past this one on my way back from the school run and now dd2 is in reception I don't have any excuses.

Just hit my first big temptation....kids' school had a bakesale and they've brought me home my alltime favourite treat. Bought with their own (well mine really) money.

I'm not sure if I'm even actually tempted by the treat itself, or if I just feel bad at not eating it because the kids bought it.

I do know that I'd rather TOTALLY abstain as it's as much about losing the weight as it is proving to myself I'm not addicted to, and can give up anything....SadConfused
