Following on from the previous monthly loss threads, here’s Septembers. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates.

The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

Link to August’s Thread

I will continue to:-

  • follow a low carb Mediterranean diet as advocated by Dr Michael Mosley. It’s great for your heart health as well as keeping blood sugars in check.
  • Intermittent Fast IF
  • Calorie Count
  • Eat Mindfully and address emotional blocks as and when they arise.
  • Meal Planning
  • Use a tracker such as MFP.
  • Mantra is I’m not on a diet, nothing is banned, I do sustainable healthy eating.

How do you intend to lose/maintain?

Any tips you’d like to share?

I will carry on not eating them then, @cheesenpickles but not stress too much if a have a few exercise calories.

WhatALearningCurve · 03/09/2019 22:37

Day two achieved under target as well. Weighed 2lb less this morning than yesterday ha which shows how much I must have eaten over the last week or so because that will just be the bloat and water weight. Also found my Fitbit today so getting that charged to start using again

the potential for another decent day IF i stay clear of snacking between now (7:30pm) and bedtime.
goal of 1332 cal per day
eaten 1210
move calories 540
and 45 minutes of exercise.
just made the 10,000+ steps before a nice thunder and lightning storm came through.
i weigh daily but will post on sunday.
bottling, labeling and selling continues.
tomorrow is our first market day BUT i'm positioned NEXT to a bakery...no point in even making believe i will resist that.
encouraging to see so many with big weight changes (mine will move very very slowly).
have a good day everyone

cheesenpickles · 04/09/2019 06:38

Think TOTM may be approaching as weight has crept back up a touch. Although I had a takeaway last night, I didn't eat it all and was super careful about what I ordered. Not to worried as I'm still way ahead of where I was a week or two ago.

Weather is foul today and I've got both kids at home, so that'll be fun. Shock

Jollyholibobs · 04/09/2019 06:51

Well done everyone so far.
A 1.8lb drop since yesterday. As @WhatALearningCurve says it just shows how much I overate last week.
Yesterday was quite challenging early evening. I arrived home very tired and really wanted to eat junk. Managed to resist and had a slice of melon and some yogurt before going out to the gym for a gruelling PT session. The cravings had passed by the time I got back home and had a healthy salad for dinner.
Today is my birthday so may have some little treat along the way. Smile There is a logistically challenging meal out being planned this evening. DD has a job interview which is difficult to fit around. I’m trying to persuade them to leave the meal to the weekend when it will be more relaxing for everyone.
Have a great day everyone.

cheesenpickles · 04/09/2019 06:52

Happy birthday @Jollyholibobs! Cake

chutneypig · 04/09/2019 06:55

There are some great starts to the week here.

I aim not to eat my exercise calories back unless I’ve done a longer run. I know I’ll be starving later in the day if I don’t and likely to binge. So I aim for something around half of what I’ve burned then. I don’t use my watch as gospel but I figure even if it’s inaccurate between brands it’s probably not too far off for me on a day to day basis. @SunshineCake that said I do exactly what you said and am a little flexible.

Hope today is a little calmer for you @cheesenpickles. I admire your restraint on the takeaway, I’d have been face down in a korma after a day like that. What a pain about the weather.

Hopefully you’ll be so busy selling today @Knitclubchatter the bakery won’t be calling too much. Great spot for selling honey though.

I’m trying to summon enthusiasm to run into work. I’ve got to, I left my car there last night. But I really fancy another coffee!

BustedDreams · 04/09/2019 07:05

Good Morning Lovlies

I painted myself to sleep last night. Totally shattered. Against clock as carpets being fitted early next week.

Kept to plan yesterday but then had chocolate & 3 ginger nuts. Determined to not be naughty today Grin

Apologies for not reading up on thread, I will try hard to in my lunch break (yesterday lunch break was doing mums online shop).

Hope you’re all ok 👍 side note 119 days until 2020. Translated that means enough time to drop a size or 3 for Festive Celebrations 🥳 and let the New Year in as a totally new women 🤸‍♂️

🐶 to drool over rather than 🍫 or 🍰

Glad to hear everyone doing well. I went for a day out on Monday and I think I look a bit lighter in the pictures so that’s a small boost.

I’ve had a bit of a health scare though (a lump in my neck) and it’s being operated on tomorrow as an emergency case. So feeling a bit discombobulated and a bit frightened. I go in for surgery tomorrow.

galvantula · 04/09/2019 07:22

Oh my Riddley hope you get on ok. Flowers

Morning all. I've dipped below 61kg for the first time in 2 months, pleased that I seem to be on a proper downward trend now. Now @ 60.9 /9st8.3.

I'm still not eating my auto generated exercise calories. My Garmin watch was telling MFP I'd done up to 100 cal of walking, so I turned the feature off.

I'm managing to get in some brisk walks this week. Hoping to get back to weights in the house next...

MrsJonesAndMe · 04/09/2019 08:02

Oh goodness @RiddleyW Thinking of you!

It sounds like you needed the sugar boost @BustedDreams

Have a good day all, will check in tomorrow. Aiming to stick to 16:8-ish and stay GF. It looks/feels a lot more wintery, so might do a stew and mash.

BustedDreams · 04/09/2019 08:51

@RiddleyW sending warmest good wishes and I hope all is well!!!

DrDiva · 04/09/2019 09:16

All the best, Riddley for today! I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Just dropped DS at school and off home to attack a list of to-do as long as my arm. Feeling really gutted as well that I have put weight on over summer but logical brain is trying to remind me that this is because I was home and so was the human garbage disposal unit otherwise known as DS. Back to the plan now that term time routine has started! Goal weight can still be mine by end of October.

RabidRabbles · 04/09/2019 09:31

I hope it all goes well for you, Riddley. Flowers

SunshineCake · 04/09/2019 12:13

@RiddleyW I hope all goes well today and you have a lovely treat for afterwards.

I told my app I wanted to reach my target at a certain pace and it gave me January. Yesterday it has revised that to November so I'm taking that as a positive win but won't stress if I don't make it as long as I carry on losing weight. No loss today but I'm at 2.2lbs lost in a week so that's made me happy.

Just been university shopping with ds. £101 poorer and then clothes shopping tomorrow.

Knitclubchatter · 04/09/2019 14:14

positive thoughts riddley.

SunshineCake · 04/09/2019 15:22

Hi everyone

My lose it app and my Samsung health app often have different calories used when I input how long I have walked for. Any recommendations for which I should us please? Feeling a bit miffed as I thought I was being clever taking a screen shot of where I was up to at the start and end of the walk but it says exactly the same thing so unless I've found a way to walk for 45 minutes and my phone not know I don't know what has happened.

SequinnedSlippers · 04/09/2019 16:44

Hello, can I join?

Been experimenting with various diet/movement changes since last September. Was 195lbs then I’m now 161lbs. I’m aiming for 125-130lbs and hope to get there in the next year or so.

Just now I’m doing 16:8 and mindful eating. Have to be very careful as I’m doing exclusion diets and low Fodmap/SIBO specific eating with a nutritionist to tackle my IBS and food intolerances. Just did a three week liquid diet designed to help with that.

Getting back into regular runs and generally moving more. Hope to incorporate a body weight/weights based exercise routine soon.

SunshineCake · 04/09/2019 19:37

Hello SequinnedSlippers. Welcome.

I have had five attempts at losing weight from what I can recall and what I am doing now is counting calories, no snacks, no alcohol, very limited chocolate, walking dog at least once a day and mainly twice when I can and half an hour on the exercise bike.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 04/09/2019 20:31

Good evening,

Been a bit quiet as I've also gone back to work this week. I've made sure to keep myself with access to lots of free and speedy foods and resisted the urge to stuff my face nightly. It's hard though. I made sure my lunches and evening meals were completely planned just to make this first week back as easy as possible, but I'm very very tired and I'm not sure if I will break.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

SunshineCake · 04/09/2019 21:09

Painting your nails is good for distraction.

cheesenpickles · 04/09/2019 21:35

Mmmm a bit grazy tonight. I've kept sub 1200 and carbs are bang on 50g but not feeling hopeful for the morning.

SunshineCake · 04/09/2019 22:21

cheesenpickles it's already done. Don't stress. I was the same today as yesterday. If I've not lost I'm eating more tomorrow.

Knitclubchatter · 05/09/2019 03:41

the day is done. no logging but i got in the steps and exercise minutes.
yes the bakery got my business...
good food choices at all the regular meals.
i expect my efforts to show none the less by sunday's weigh in.
i wish everyone a great start to tomorrow :).

Laura221 · 05/09/2019 06:36

Morning everyone! I'm hoping to stick to my meals today without any snacking. My girls are back at school and it's my day off so I'm hoping I dont eat through boredom. I've been good this week (for me) I'm hoping to drop a little bit so I get to 10.10 on the scales in the next couple of days. I'll try and be active on here today x x
