Not pretty on the scales this morning. 129.8.
I think a lot is bloody as had loads of carbs and terrible wind yesterday. Some is pure greed.

WreckTangled · 10/08/2019 07:41

0.2 up. Pfft.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 10/08/2019 08:13

1lb and a bit down. I now weigh what I did last weekend before I went on a beer and carb safari

Not2bObvious · 10/08/2019 09:47

.6 down today. Was under calories last night, that’s pretty good for a Friday. Weather rubbish here, any walking will be Leslie Sansone or treadmill based. Fake Chinese for dinner planned, mini grill for brekkie, lunch tbd.

It's very windy here! I'm not hungry so haven't eaten yet.

At the shop today so lunch is:

Two slices of smoked cheese
Some wafer thin turkey
Handful of spinach (I know this isn't much but every little helps!)
Cucumber sticks
Olives
Mayo to dip in
Blueberries

My friend has invited us round for a curry tonight. She is cooking it, not sure what she's making it with but I'm not too worried I'll just forgo the rice.

Not2bObvious · 10/08/2019 10:33

Looks like the low carb is going well wreck, are you finding it ok?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 10/08/2019 10:40

I'm finding it pretty easy so far but obviously I'm not as strict as people doing keto... if I see a doughnut I might struggle but there's so many recipes out there to make your own sweet treats it's not so bad. It is expensive though.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/08/2019 10:50

I can imagine it is expensive. It's costly enough eating the protein I do. Pleased you are doing well in it though.

Thought about going to Zumba to get my steps in but cba in the end. Stick in the feeling crap cycle but cba even though I know it will make me feel better.
Weights tomorrow although the annual town 10 k starts outside. Going to keep busy was going to be gardening but weather shite so will start decorating DS room. I will prepare the walls anyway as need to buy paint

Not2bObvious · 10/08/2019 11:46

I’m going to try and increase my protein for the next few days, see if it helps me stick to my cals. Feeling incredibly lazy today, lying down with a cuppa. I will get steps done, just not yet😉

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 10/08/2019 20:25

Don't think I'll be weighing in tomo morn so here's my results

Not hitting protein definitely keeps me under control, not consistently doing it every day though

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/08/2019 07:22

1lb of bloat off. Thinking of walking to town to the gym as road closures and nightmare parking due to annual 10k.

Feeling utterly shit ATM. I think what works have been totm. Is 44 to early for menopause symptoms?
Really depressed and possibly over sensitive to some of DH comments

WreckTangled · 11/08/2019 07:48

STS again. 0.9lb down from last week.

Last night there were homemade popadoms, homemade bajis and the mini popadoms I love. When they first came out I wanted them all but I didn't and by the time I had eaten my curry I felt full and was pleased I didn't give in, I didn't feel like I had missed out. There was cornflour in the curry and loads of onion but I'm not going to be militant about it.

WreckTangled · 11/08/2019 07:48

Oh I had a glass of wine too

WreckTangled · 11/08/2019 08:49

Low carb pancakes for breakfast 🥞 😋

Not2bObvious · 11/08/2019 10:14

Nice losses ladies. Great behaviour around the Indian sundries wreck, I of course couldn’t resist the crap and the scales up this morning. My average is up 1.5 which I knew was coming and at ok with.
Not sure about the menopause symptoms life - I was wondering myself as the same age and regularly feeling in the pits of misery - then it shifts. My sympathies, it’s draining. In my case I don’t think it’s depression as such, just life at times getting me down. Might it be worth a chat with your doctor?

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 11/08/2019 10:15

Another 1lb off so that’s 3lb of bloat and 1lb of loss gone this week. I expect a rise tomorrow

Wreck Tom Kerridge does a great low carb chicken curry. Bit of a faff but yummy

Life Flowers here if you need to talk

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/08/2019 12:07

I think I will go to my gp about it. So fucking down and feeling like an utter failure. DH is a subtle as a brick and didn't help by saying I try and solve the world and make things to hard for myself by trying to make things perfect for everyone.
Just side lined me a bit.

Thanks guys.
Walked to the gym and back. Got stuck on the way home until a gap in the runners meant I could cross the road.

WreckTangled · 11/08/2019 12:36

Sorry life I missed what you said. I don't know much about the menopause but I don't think it's too early to be experiencing symptoms. A gp visit sounds like a good idea.

I've got blueberry muffins in the oven and chicken and chorizo casserole in the slow cooker for dinner.

Not2bObvious · 11/08/2019 15:11

Busy couple of hours - did 30 mins of Leslie Sansone with light hand weights, then about 30 minutes of a Les Mills bodypump. I was going to go on the treadmill but realised that was pretty dumb since it was lovely out! Got an hours walk in. So 2 hours of exercise, relaxing now after my shower and looking forward to a roast chicken dinner with loads of veg.
Sounds like a terse discussion life, no idea of the context and I won’t pry but that comment would cut me a bitFlowers

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 11/08/2019 15:39

It was terse. He did mean well as I do tie myself in knots trying to make my family happy. Wrong time though. Even Ice cream didn't help. I couldn't face it.
Could be a whole new world of weight loss

Happierwithouthim · 11/08/2019 17:32

Life Thanks** menopause is a possibility sure but gp can test your hormone levels & rule it in or out & there's no point worrying about a maybe.

Wreck well done on staying strong against temptation

Not outdoor exercise has many other benefits too

Wolf well done on your loss

I was out last night, I drove(alcohol free until 24 August) had 4 bottles of non alcoholic cider & switched to soda water & lime then, at 4am we went to McDonald's & I'd just a portion of fries helpfully had calories on it 377 Grin
Today I'd dinner out - veg soup, brioche beef burger, about ten chips they weren't good & the most gorgeous chocolate & walnut brownie with a teeny scoop of vanilla icecream. Followed up with a can of Pepsi Max & I don't think I'll eat again I'm full.
Didn't run as only 3 hours sleep & now sun is shining so I'm thinking maybe might get out with dc when they're home Hmm

WreckTangled · 11/08/2019 17:42

I'm so full I couldn't even eat all my dinner and I didn't have a big portion. It's true when they say you don't get hungry having no carbs.

Breakfast: pancakes with bacon

A small blueberry muffin
Two cheese crackers I made

Chicken and chorizo casserole with broccoli rice

Have made my own hot chocolate to take with me to the open air cinema tonight.

WreckTangled · 11/08/2019 17:43

Happier well done resisting the chicken selects and whatever cheese sensations they have on right now Grin

Happierwithouthim · 11/08/2019 17:44

Joining up again if I may? Weight has been steady for a while so still lots to lose. Even though we're on holiday I'm trying to make some sensible choices in among it & have been exercising, so will report on that for now & then start recording weight etc when home.

Today's good points: tomato salad instead of patatas bravas & water instead of alcohol (will have wine later).
Did a HIIT session (20 mins) followed by 20 mins jog/walk & 15 min swim this morning. Felt surprisingly good.

I'm feeling in a good place to make a sustained effort at this, although we have 2 weeks of birthdays & anniversaries & lots of meals out at the end of August/early September so it's going to be a tough start. I've got at least 30 kg to lose ideally but will be setting small sub targets.
