Lose 7lbs in July

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 07:41

Anyone else want to? I’d love some company.

I’ve been yoyoing the same 7lb for a while. I’d like it gone for good and then some.

I base my food intake around low carb, moderate fat & moderate protein. Think Mediterranean diet. I do watch my calorie intake too. I have the occasional tipple of alcohol. I generally don’t have processed foods and make meals from scratch. Although sometimes life gets in the way and needs must.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

I think I joined last week, but the thread disappeared off my watch list! Can I jump back in?
Well done everyone, for keeping going - @Sharpkat that's an amazing loss! and @LosingLola - well done!
Gone from 67.0kg down to 64.4 this morning. I am low carbing, and DH is away so I'm also walking the dogs twice a day! First 1.5kg came off very quickly (water I think), now settling down to 100-200g per day (I know you shouldn't weigh daily but it's the only thing keeping me on the wagon). I am eating sausage, eggs and tomatoes every morning, meat/cheese salad for lunch, and meat with veg for dinner. No snacks. Strawberries and cream every couple of days to make it bearable.
Oh, and I completed couch to 5k with a local group on Monday and ran 5k without stopping for the first time ever!! Nearly killed me.

Good morning you lovely lot

Sorry I’ve been mia, away at the moment and don’t have any scales either.

Mostly on plan and feeling svelte. Long may it continue. I will catch up on thread later today.

Have fun! Be good! No! ... you can’t have a biscuit Grin

Morning! Scales this morning said another 0.5lb off. That's 5.3lbs off since the 1st of July so I'm VERY pleased with that.

The weekend is looking hectic and I'll be sans scales on Sunday but I'm hoping to keep on the straight and narrow. I'm going to one of my fave foodie areas so it'll be tough but I think my weight loss so far (22lbs since the beginning of June Shock) should be enough to keep me going.

I can't quite believe how well I've taken to black coffee with no sugar. I never thought I'd be able to ditch my milky sweet obsession but it's been such a huge game changer. What's been everybody's biggest surprise with what they can live without so far? That and ditching the fizzy drinks. I still have an occasional Coke Zero but there was a point in my life (and probably the thing that's given me the most weight gain) where is drink at least 2litres or full fat coke a day. Blush

Well done everyone, almost halfway through the month now!

Stayed under the 1200 again yesterday, plus had a nice walk in the park with dd while ds was at Beavers.

I’ve discovered I really don’t need to eat lunch 😁

Still no alcohol, which is pleasing and I’ve been glad to see it is possible to go without! But I’ve not had any social events come up where this would have been an issue tbh. I could have happily downed a chilled white wine last night, had to find some other distraction which is probably more practical anyway. Also my parents were meant to be coming this weekend and now aren’t, and that always involves booze, so that’s now been delayed to the start of August 😁

Keep going lovely losers!

Progress report on Scarsdale:

Breakfast was a slice of wholemeal toast with the thinnest spread of jam. And a banana, as I didn’t have protein bread (what is this?!) nor did I have a grapefruit. But fruit is fruit yes?!

Lunch was supposed to be watercress soup but as with protein bread, I’m fresh out so I had the lunch from a few days ahead, cheese and a giant salad dressed with only balsamic vinegar. My face was a little Confused but actually it was alright.

Tea tonight is supposed to be ratatouille and artichoke hearts. Guess what? I shall be substituting with something that I actually have in. It’ll be protein and some veg. I’m sure Mr Scarsdale won’t be too offended!

chutneypig · 12/07/2019 18:10

Congratulations on the 5k @Pigletpoglet. I can honestly say doing C25K has changed my life. And I’ve hauled my family along with me.

My scales were down 0.4kg from yesterday and I had a three course conference dinner last night. It was delicious so thankfully small portions saved me.

Thismummyruns · 12/07/2019 19:21
Grin

I only had 2 biscuits in the end- vast improvement as I would normally not think twice in demolishing a whole packet Grin

Saw some very pleasing numbers on the scales this morning, don't want to jinx it so will wait now until Monday to see if they are truly heading in the right direction.

Happy Friday all, have a fab weekend!

cheesenpickles · 13/07/2019 06:39

Morning. Quick check in before I head off on a weekend away type thing. Ended up eating a pitta and having slightly more calories than I have been (about 1400) so a 0.1lb up this morning but I'm not to worried as I think it'll probably be temp. I'm going to a festival today so a bit eeek about the food but I'll work it out. Hope everybody has a good weekend.

Foreverlexicon · 13/07/2019 06:53

Wow I’m amazing.
Despite doing absolutely no exercise as I didn’t get an opportunity to run, work was pretty much all desk based this week and the horse was off work and eating everything last Sunday then most days this week eating nearer 2000 than 1500, I’ve still lost a pound this week! I normally lose between Saturday and Sunday too.

Very pleased as I wasn’t hopeful I would even maintain this week let alone lose. Hoping I’ll lose 0.2 by tomorrow as then I’ll be in a healthy BMI!

Horse is back in work so looking at quite an active weekend; going for a long ride today then need to walk into town and run some errands. Planning 2000 calories as usual for the weekend then I’m going to knuckle down a bit more next week as can’t imagine I’ll get away with losing weight eating this much long term!

Breakfast - toast with peanut butter and jam
Lunch - breaded risotto balls stuffed with cheese and salad
Dinner - hairy dieters beef and potato pie, Yorkshire puds and peas
Leaves 320 calories for a nice pud 😊

Foreverlexicon · 13/07/2019 06:54

I meant wow I’m amazed not I’m amazing but that too obviously Grin

Thismummyruns · 13/07/2019 07:56

@Foreverlexicon that made me laugh Grin

WhatALearningCurve · 13/07/2019 08:20

12st 9 1/2 this morning! 3lb down since Monday. Hopefully this continues over the weekend and I don't undo it all at my mums birthday meal and family lunch tomorrow!

Jollyholibobs · 13/07/2019 10:37

@Foreverlexicon you are amazing. Glad to hear horse is fit again. I’m just off for my regular riding lesson this morning.
Well done on the two lotus biscuits @Thismummyruns
Well done for cutting out the coke and enjoy the festival @cheesenpickles
I’ve cut out alcohol and feel so much better for it since January.

0.4 lbs down this morning despite nibbling bits while cooking and leftovers.

Have a good day all.

chutneypig · 13/07/2019 17:20

Great news on your horse and being amazing @Foreverlexicon. Bet you’ll be glad to get out riding.

I maintained from yesterday. Today we won’t mention but I haven’t been at home with the kids for a couple of weeks so, all good.

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 13/07/2019 19:10

Scarsdale diet slightly derailed by 2 crumpets and butter but still finishing on 1013. I’m about to brush my teeth and no food shall pass my lips till tomorrow 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Jollyholibobs · 14/07/2019 07:54

Good morning all
0.6lbs down this morning
Finished yesterday on 1106 cals
Gazpacho for lunch and cauliflower and chickpea curry for dinner.
Taking MIL out for lunch today. May be difficult to keep it low cal.

pookypup · 14/07/2019 09:27

Hi - had a naughty couple of days food wise so attempting to haul myself back onto the wagon. I go on holiday in under 2 weeks and would love to get another 1.5 kg off before then.

So much respect for those of you who have kept going with your diets. Halo

Started today with an hours swim to try and cancel out the take away, wine and chocolate from last night...

Sharpkat · 14/07/2019 09:47

Morning all

I am down 2.5kg from the start of the month which is great. Today is going to be a bit of a day off the exercise. Am off to bootcamp but not going to do 50k steps plus as my knees need a break.

Cannot believe it as had far too much alcohol yesterday. Weekends are tough for us all.

If you are going out today then enjoy it. We all need treats.

Thismummyruns · 14/07/2019 11:58

OH sabotaged me last night with a Chinese... but it was SOOOOO good Grin

Foreverlexicon · 14/07/2019 12:27

Stayed the same for Sunday weigh in but not complaining as it means yesterday’s wasn’t a fluke!

Very active day today; I jumped the horse and spent 20 min or so putting jumps
away which is hard work. About to go to a trampoline park with a friend - haven’t been on one for a good 15 years!

Food is
Toast with peanut butter and jam
Chicken soup with ryvita and a pear
Prob a cereal bar for a snack
Gammon, chips and veg for dinner
Cheeky gu cheesecake for pud - comes in at 2000 which is my weekend allowance then will knuckle down next week as my next loss will take me back into the healthy BMI bracket!

cheesenpickles · 14/07/2019 16:04

Back in the land of the living. Diet went awry yesterday due to festival food. Ended up eating a giant hamburger which was mostly bread. Then dh and I polished off some complimentary bubbles. I was sub 1200kcal but not good things.

Today I ended up breaking my fast very early for lunch as we were out. Had a chicken Caesar salad and left out the croutons. A lot more on track but sub 1000kcal. Tempted to count this as a "fast day" but not sure how the evening will go yet. Will jump back on the scales tomorrow and see if there was any damage done.

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 14/07/2019 18:01

Finishing today on 1124, including 7 portions of fruit and vegetables! I made cookies for the DCs and am tempted but not going to give in. The scales have not budged in days but I’m refusing to give in!

FiveShelties · 15/07/2019 00:47

Monday morning weigh in for me and am down one pound at 10st 3.4 pounds. Six pounds lost so hoping for one more to make the 7 pounds.

Plan this week is for much more water, more reduction on the wine front and lots of steps, averaged 11646 per day last week. Have an excellent week everyoneGrin

chutneypig · 15/07/2019 04:56

That’s great willpower @MikeHannigansStripyShirt. The toughest times are when they’re not shifting so good on you.

Fabulous total @FiveShelties.

My weekly average is down 0.5kg, although I saw a rise this morning after a less than stellar weekend. I’m back to my normal routine this week, I’ve been out of it all month, so I’m really very happy with that loss and looking to build on it for the rest of the month.

Jollyholibobs · 15/07/2019 05:59

Morning all.
Monday weigh in 2.8lbs lost in the week.
6.8 lbs since 1st July.
0.4lbs up today on yesterday- impact of the weekend and lunch out yesterday.

5days until I go on holiday so a couple of fast days coming up including today.

@MikeHannigansStripyShirt you will see results soon. Well done for your resolve.
@FiveShelties great result.
@chuneypig that’s the weekend effect for you. Weekends are tough. Well done overall though.

Good luck for the week ahead. Have a great day all.
