Anyone else want to? I’d love some company.

I’ve been yoyoing the same 7lb for a while. I’d like it gone for good and then some.

I base my food intake around low carb, moderate fat & moderate protein. Think Mediterranean diet. I do watch my calorie intake too. I have the occasional tipple of alcohol. I generally don’t have processed foods and make meals from scratch. Although sometimes life gets in the way and needs must.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

So first increase this morning. Apparently put on 3/4 of a pound which I know is nothing. To be fair I'm not surprised, I feel like death today, combination of doing too much yesterday and my baby not sleeping well last night. So I feel very puffy and bleugh. Have no motivation to get out and move today but gonna make sure my eating is under 1200 and try and get a short walk in later on.

Fingers crossed my baby sleeps all morning so I can get stuff done at the house!

Well done everyone. I am really enjoying reading the successes and the blips, 0.6lbs down on yesterday today. Finished on 891 yesterday so wondering if I missed something. Session in the gym in the evening. Lots of travel and meetings today. Bracing myself for someone producing biscuits late afternoon when my resolve is low. But I have a nutritious lunch with me so I won’t need a biscuit later on. No I won’t.
I’m wearing some trousers today which were too tight a couple of weeks ago so that’s something to celebrate.
Have a lovely day everyone.

cheesenpickles · 09/07/2019 11:31

Down 0.6lb this morning which I'm pretty chuffed with. I'm now only overweight rather and obese and only a few pounds away from my lowest since I met my husband. Feeling really positive and even managed a yoga workout using an app and a brisk walk to take the eldest to nursery. That's a total of 3.3lbs off since the 1st of July. Nearly halfway there!

Gothamgirl1970 · 09/07/2019 12:46

I just had a job interview and I felt so gross being fat in a suit I’m on the tube home trying not to cry

cheesenpickles · 09/07/2019 12:55

Oh @Gothamgirl1970 Sad un-mumsnetty hugs to you. You're making the right steps and try and turn it by using it as a motivator.

Gothamgirl1970 · 09/07/2019 14:59

@cheesenpickles thanks so much I needed a hug so badly and I just am so grateful to you. Had a little cry and now feel more determined xx

cheesenpickles · 09/07/2019 15:03

Glad you're feeling better. I've had an event recently where I was photographed and the photos are in press/social media and it made me feel so depressed. But now every time I see them I'm trying to use it to keep on the straight and narrow.

BustedDreams · 09/07/2019 15:06

@Gothamgirl1970 bless ya .... sending hugs and positivity Flowers

Hi, can I join please? I've put on 9lb this year (I suspect as I'm peri menopause) and despite cutting back on biscuits, wine, crisps, having more salad instead of sandwiches. I've lost a couple of pounds recently as I had an event last weekend.

So I'll start here, 7lbs would be great, but anything I can loose and keep off I'll be happy with. Have to admit I'm making a veggie pasta meal tonight, so will have less and no snacks before or after.

runningtogetskinny · 09/07/2019 16:49

@ifonly4 I just joined in this week so you're not the only newbie 🙋🏻‍♀️

WhatALearningCurve · 09/07/2019 19:19

Had a very rubbish day in terms of movement but stuck to my calories so I'm happy. Gonna hopefully get a much more active day in tomorrow

Just drank a spearmint and chamomile tea with collagen powder mixed I. Not sure if it's all hocum but was gifted to me so worth a shot. Heard it's particularly good for tightening up the skin during weight loss. Waiting for dh to get back and treating myself to a few squares of dark choc with Tumeric and Ginger I snuck in the ocado shop. Grin

Harnett11 · 09/07/2019 20:57

Came in just under 1200 cals (1198 to be exact) managed 13891 steps. & went on cross trainer for 30 mins feeling shattered! Well done on everyone’s losses

Lucked · 09/07/2019 21:06

I forgot to post today but I was down 3lbs for the first week. The extra fast day seems to have done the trick😀

Non fast day today and I have mostly been good but did eat a handful of haribo before dinner.

pookypup · 09/07/2019 22:23

1232 cals and a swim today - so a good one. I’m at a catered work event tomorrow so need to stay strong and avoid pastries... taking own salad lunch. Envy

BustedDreams · 10/07/2019 05:28

Went over a food bump and fell off wagon. Climbed back on now and all is good.

You lot are doing really really well! Awesome bunch!

chutneypig · 10/07/2019 06:18

Stay strong @pookypup, great idea taking a salad. I’m going to something tomorrow and I’ve planned to leave something on my plate and not gobble the lot up.

I’m glad all is good @BustedDreams the tricky bit is getting back on, so you’re doing great there.

I’m down 0.3 kg from Monday weigh in but it’s all a bit erratic to say whether the average is heading down. I’m happy with how I’ve eaten over the last couple of days being away so I’m focusing on that.

Foreverlexicon · 10/07/2019 06:30

Ugh I haven’t been doing too well. I forgot my lunch yesterday and had to buy it in the canteen and didn’t make the best choice - Brie and chorizo panini and a brownie 😳 then instead of my planned dinner, my housemate fed me chilli and then i had a chocolate bar. I then overslept today so no running for me!

I weighed myself and I’m up a couple of pounds so need to pull it together for the rest of the week - i’d like to maintain at least!

DrDiva · 10/07/2019 07:00

Well I am not doing amazingly - yesterday DH and I had an extremely rare mutual day off, so we went for lunch together. It was really lovely. And today and tomorrow I have graduation at work and we always get social for the only time in the year, then Friday night we are out. We never go out!! I am trying to curb things and at least I am not putting anything on, but neither am I losing.
It’s great to hear all the inspirational stories here though!

WhatALearningCurve · 10/07/2019 07:15

Back to Monday's weight today so I've least maintained from yesterday's weight blip. Even though after I'd finished for the day I went to bed with a migraine and ate a chocolate bar - it's medicinal isn't it ha.

Today I'm going to go for a walk with the baby and then meeting a friend for lunch. I've already decided what I'm having though and accounted for the calories so I'll just adjust breakfast and tea around lunch.

Jollyholibobs · 10/07/2019 07:23

Well done on first week @Lucked.

Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday @DrDiva.
Like a few others I had a bit of a wobble yesterday. DD and DH were later home than normal. I was hungry and bored but waiting for them to eat my dinner. That’s the danger zone for me. Probably managed to wolf an extra 400 colonies in snacks. Weight up a little this morning.

Ah well, today’s is a new day. Kicked off with a 6.00 am gym session.

Have a great day everyone.

cheesenpickles · 10/07/2019 07:49

Hey everybody! Stepped on the scales and another 1.2lbs off ShockI did do yoga and quite a lot of brisk walking yesterday.

I've got a health check today and hoping water/weight and clothes won't tip me back into the obese category again and then I've got a work event which is totally carb and booze based so fingers crossed I won't knock myself out of keto but I'm sticking with fasting so hopefully it'll minimise the damage.

I think I weigh about the same as I did for my wedding now but none of the dresses and clothes I wore around then fit, so the kids have definitely changed my body shape. It'll certainly be a case of heading to the gym to tone back up.

Hope everybody has a good day!
