Lose 7lbs in July

BustedDreams · 29/06/2019 07:41

Anyone else want to? I’d love some company.

I’ve been yoyoing the same 7lb for a while. I’d like it gone for good and then some.

I base my food intake around low carb, moderate fat & moderate protein. Think Mediterranean diet. I do watch my calorie intake too. I have the occasional tipple of alcohol. I generally don’t have processed foods and make meals from scratch. Although sometimes life gets in the way and needs must.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

Weigh in the morning at 2lbs less than last Monday Smile

WhatALearningCurve · 08/07/2019 08:08

6lb weight loss overall! I genuinely have no idea how I did it but I think it shows my body was ready to get rid of some of the excess ha.

Well done everyone - how encouraging this thread is - thanks again to @BustedDreams for starting it.

Thank you for the lovely comments regarding my weight loss - I am very pleased and also a little shocked to see how much I have eaten this week and still lost weight. Shows how much I was getting through whilst on holidayGrin

1.5lb loss. Pang of disappointment as I have been so good & massively upped my daily activity in comparison to previous weeks which is hard with a 7 week old but a loss is a loss!
So desperate to get in the 14st bracket, it's as if my body knows Grin

cheesenpickles · 08/07/2019 08:51

@Thismummyruns your hormones are probably playing a bit part of that so a loss is fantastic. My weigh yoyoed SO badly when I was post-partum and trying to eat right and keep focused with a squeaky newborn is no mean feat!

cheesenpickles · 08/07/2019 08:52

*big

Thismummyruns · 08/07/2019 09:00

Thanks @cheesenpickles that helps a lot!
Will stay positive 🙌🏼
I'm determined not to cook separate meals for everyone so we all eat the same healthy-ish dinners, I may need to reduce my portion sizes!

Turned down a cheeky fry up & a Krispy Kreme last week, that's improvement in itself GrinGrin

BustedDreams · 08/07/2019 09:06

Good Morning you lovely lot 😊. Hope you have all managed to swerve the weekend ‘Yummy Food Devils’ efforts to sabotage.

Some great losses being reported. It’s a joy to read. I hope you are all feeling fabulous and awesome in your svelteness.

No scales for a while as away but my last weigh in yesterday was 144, so overall I’m half way there for Julys goal.

@MikeHannigansStripyShirt as requested ‘slapitty slap slap slap’. Now get back on the wagon Grin , you know you want to 😄

@Fiveshelties we are weight twins Grin

@WhatALearningCurve. Wowsers!!! Bloody well done on your loss girl!

@Thismummyruns it will happen, honest. Any loss is a good loss, the rest will follow.

Have a great week you lot! 😘😊

Fab losses people! Star StarStar

@BustedDreams slaps duly noted, thank you Grin I’ve planned out meals for today (just two - fasting this morning, so will have lunch, tea, and LOTS of water today) and I’ve just done a killer workout DVD so already feeling loads better. And I’ve still lost 1lb so it’s progress isn’t it?!

Keep on keeping on everyone

BustedDreams · 08/07/2019 10:34

@MikeHannigansStripyShirt you lucky lucky thing Grin. Well done nonetheless!!

Some amazing losses on here! Well done! 3 lb down for me.

Chickenitalia · 08/07/2019 11:38

Morning all, 3lbs down for me, whoop whoop! Which puts me back in the healthy bmi range, so I’m happy with that!
Also had no alcohol since June 30th which is good, I feel so much more awake! I find I can drop off to sleep more easily now, previously I think I was passing out due to the drink, then it was hard for a few days, but maybe I’m through that now. Planning on calling it Dry July!
I turned down a wine yesterday afternoon at the very civilised dance show, afternoon drinking is absolutely off limits, I would have just fallen asleep and snored I expect. Cals were 1060 for Sunday.

Today, exante bar for lunch and dinner is a burger, griddled so the fat drains away and put in a thin bun, low fat cheese and mayo, and a big salad. Feels like a treat in some ways.

Well done on the losses, every bit helps!

Foreverlexicon · 08/07/2019 12:35

Managed to get straight back on it this morning thankfully.

B - overnight oats with strawberries
L - cheese and onion quiche with veg sticks
S - grapes
D - turkey, mushroom and leek in a creme fraiche sauce with new potatoes
A - chocolate mousse

Rode the horse this morning. I did manage to eat a LOT yesterday so hoping I will still have a loss on Saturday

DrDiva · 08/07/2019 13:21

Congratulations on the losses! Fantastic work.

I haven’t lost anything, having put the 2lbs back in. But as I am due on I’ll take that, as I usually go up by about 5lbs.

Have done Shred everyday for 8 days now. I hope I will see a change in my flabby tummy soon. My family used to call me a cream puff in toothpicks because I keep all my weight around my midriff. Things don’t seem to change... Sad

Rshard · 08/07/2019 15:07

I have failed to contribute much to the discussion in the first week - it moves at such a pace! But I’ve been reading and have lost 2lbs, so really happy.

Great to read about the losses and all the support is fantastic. Being on week 2!

Harnett11 · 08/07/2019 18:21

I have only lost half a pound / I’m blaming the alcohol on Saturday! I will up my exercise this week to make up for it.

chutneypig · 08/07/2019 19:54

I’ve finished today on 1700. Very pleased with that as I’m travelling. I was starving this afternoon, but didn’t cave and go to the hotel bar for dinner. I got a sandwich and the lowest calorie one there at that.

Run this morning and I’m aiming to do a bit of yoga before bed too. Steps are OK today, 12500 but I think I’ll struggle tomorrow. Accountability is really helping me!

WhatALearningCurve · 08/07/2019 20:09

Finished for the day. I'm not entirely sure how I did all these steps but I can safely say that it won't be happening again as my feet are incredibly sore ha.

What I have realised after comparing each day is for me to lose a stone in 5 weeks (at least according to MFP), I need to have a calorie deficit of at least 600 each day

Finishing on 1337 today which is over budget by one Ferrero Rocher Blush.

cheesenpickles · 08/07/2019 21:22

@pookypup lol they don't count Grin

Gonegardening · 08/07/2019 21:26

Flying by to say well done everyone on the weight loss. Almost makes me wish I weighed on Mondays rather than Saturdays Smile.

Managed to eat healthy all day, no snacks or booze. No exercise but done a huge amount of work to try and allow time later in the week. Will ensure I get back on the active path tomorrow. Glad the weekend temptations are over.

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 08/07/2019 21:34

Finishing on 1233 today. Very chuffed I avoided all the work sweets that utterly derailed me yesterday. I need to just not start eating them - once I start it’s just a sugar fest!

runningtogetskinny · 08/07/2019 22:14

Finished on 1082 but cycled 23 miles to work and back - very happy with that!

chutneypig · 09/07/2019 06:40

That’s a fantastic number of steps @WhatALearningCurve. My aim, which I am focusing on this week after last weeks poor performance, is to keep a deficit around 500 calories a day. I know the watches aren’t massively accurate but I’ve found it a reasonable guide. If I’ve been exercising a lot and I don’t up my calories a little I get very tired and prone to overeat. Very prone.

I’m in awe of that commute @runningtogetskinny

Ah, work sweets. It’s never just the one is it?

runningtogetskinny · 09/07/2019 08:37

@chutneypig that was in total mind, not 23 each way. Woke up aching during the night (and hungry!) Grin
